helibee · 19/07/2008 18:14

hiya, sorry i've not been on for ages but i fainted and cracked my head and shoulder on the laptop and cracked the screen so it's away being mended. I'm at dads this week though so i can be online again-i feel very sad to admit that i've really missed you all!

Callum is very haapy running and walking and he is into everything. I was in the kitchen the other day and came back in to find he had found a small box and pushed it up against the box which is infront of the tv (to stop him getting at it) and he climbed from one box to the other just to get to the tv-the way their minds work astound me!

He also loves laughing-a real hysterical laugh which is infectious and he's so cute as he wrinkles his nose whilst he does it too!

Anyway as for birthday presents we're going to get the little tikes fold away climber and his gran and granda are buying him a mini baby trampoline and my dad's buying him a swing! (he loves outdoors active things!)

Anyway off for dinner be back on later

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 19/07/2008 22:18

Hi guys, sorry I've been awol, I didn't know when to jump back in and got a bit overwhelmed with all the posts.

Helibee, your fainting incident sounds nasty, how are you doing healthwise these days? Are you looking after yourself? Callum sounds like a bundle of fun! Nice present ideas, I'm tempted to get a trampoline too, J loves bouncing.

Violet and Knickers, I'm sorry to hear of your relationship problems. I'm inclined to think it's very typical of post-baby relations! Dp and I have been having problems for a while now, mostly stemming from lack of sleep, lack of money, the state of the house, who is most tired, who does most round the house, etc

Violet, glad lo's temp is down, that must have been a bit scary, it's horrible when they're ill for the first time.

Knickers, you poor thing, I suffered terribly with spd when I was pg, from 11 weeks I had trouble walking. Try wearing silky pyjamas to bed to help you move, and keep those legs together at all times. It was awful when I had it, was in loads of pain and my hips would CLUNK. Worst part was I had a very weak bladder, the loo was downstairs and I could barely walk, so one time I got up out of bed and had to wee in the bin cos I would have wet myself trying to get down the stairs. Not dignified, this pregnancy business.

Conker, did you find out why your neighbour did that?? Sorry to her about the house stuff. How's Struan doing these days?

Gill, has work calmed down any? and did the kids get chicken pox in the end? Your hv situation sounds crap, are we legally required to take them for checks? because I think you've been reasonable in attempting to change the appointment time, and if you have no concerns I would just say you can't make it.

Lizzie, glad you're all better now! The present ideas look good.

Quickerthistime happy birthday to your lo for tomorrow, it's gone quick, hasn't it? Congrats on getting pregnant again! was it a nice surprise or were you trying?

My2weegirls, good grief, molars?? J still only has two peggies at the bottom. Doesn't stop him from scoffing everything though.

I'm sorry if I've missed anyone out, hope you're all doing ok. xxx

The dr has said I have suspected pernicious anaemia which has mental and physical symptoms and might explain the tiredness, mental fog, and inability to cope I've had for so long now. So while it might sound like bad news, in fact I do hope I have it as it's easily treated, and I'd love to get my energy back!

Helibee I know what you mean about them problemsolving, I can see J's little brain ticking away all the time, he's constantly surprising me. He doesn't feel like a baby anymore! he fakes burps because it makes us laugh, he's starting to point to things, a dog barked outside yesterday and I didn't even notice til I saw him go quiet and he was obviously listening, then he pointed/waved at the window and made an attempt at a bark. I was really surprised!

What are your lot up to these days?

tasha22 · 20/07/2008 14:09

hey you lot sorry ive been away havent had time to sit and read all the posts. had a quick glance though and helibee how terrible hope your ok hun.
james hopefully they get you back to your old self soon.
i havent had the visit yet conker but i just went for it thinking well if the social workers dont think i can cope with it then i will put my name down for it again when the boys are older but personally i think i can as i love the house being full of kiddies keeping me active im lost when dp takes them away for the day lol.

james how do i stop getting emails from a site because i keep getting them from emmas diary and apparently im now 20 wks

well lo has another chest infection and if nobody takes action to find out why he keeps getting them then im gonna crack! honestly its getting to be a joke like. hes so gurney and wont let me put him down.

i done really badly in my last assignment and i think its due to having a new tutor but i got 67% so really panicing about this next one and its on abuse.

right hope everyones well sorry it was a bit me me me but my boys are tearing eachother apart downstairs better run lol...

violetsmile · 20/07/2008 14:58

Helibee, hope you are feeling better. Do you know why you fainted? Have you been to the doctors? How's your head?!

James, hope you get the anaemia diagnosed and sorted. It must be hard looking after James and not feeling 100% a lot of the time.

Tasha sorry to hear that lo keeps getting chest infections. It must be awful for him. Was he premature?

Just wondering cos my friend's ds was 8 weeks early and he gets chest infections everyother month. Not sure if it's related though! Is he eating OK?

What course are you doing tasha? Sorry if you've said but I haven't been on mn for long so still feel like a bit of a newbie!

Right well, Joshua seems almost back to normal after his temperature. He still looks pale to me but not sure if I'm imagining it. He looks a bit washed out iykwim?!

His sleep is still crap. I can't work out how he has gone from sleeping 12 hours straight to being up every 2 hours!

Anyway, Josh ready for a nap. Better go before he gets manic!

tasha22 · 20/07/2008 17:35

violet- yea he was 7wks prem. could be related but i think hes aspirating aswell, the speach therepist told me to get him checked for it if he gets worse so ill give her a ring in the morning although im not sure what they will be able to do about it. im doing health and social care with the OU

sorry to hear joshua hasnt been too well. sorry i cant give any advice on the sleep problems as my lo also went from sleeping all night to waking half a dozen times. that was because the hospital staff completely changed his routine the last time he was in and i cant get him out of it.

hey so forgot to tell you all i went to an ann summers party last night and my mum was doing it! i had such a laugh.i bought really sexy underware but its gonna be useless since i have no sex drive lol. so im having one on the 9th yay!

lizziemun · 20/07/2008 19:46

James

my sister has pernicious anaemia (also has PCOS) and has to have a vit K injection every 12wks.

Tasha sorry LO ill again . It is such hard work when you can not put them down.

As for the Emma Dairy there should be something on the email to click on to cancel.

violetsmile is joshua going through a growth spurt. I can't remember when your lo is one, but i can not seem to give Lexie enough food during the day she has become a wheelie bin for food. Lexie birthday is on the 7th September was due on the 31st august.

She is eating 3 big meals a day plus snack. As well as having 3 x 6oz bottles plus a 5oz bottle in the afternoon after her snack.

My2Weegirls · 20/07/2008 20:20

hi all

tasha - sorry to hear about anther chest infection. hope it clears up soon. poor thing

james - hope it is pernicious anaemia. and yep - 2 bottom molars are nearly through, the 4 corners are through so they've just got to push up and take the middle bit of gum away - ouch! and dd2 loves dd1's mr bounce trampoline - can't keep her off it.

violet - how did the talk go?

knickers - have you got one of those elasic belts for spd?

helibee - i've got a climber here and a girl that really crinkles her nose when she smiles/laughs too! her big sister was lying on the floor and instead of going round her she just climbed right over

she's doing really well getting from sitting position to standing without holding onto anything and then doing a big stand. and is staring to do steps forwards holding onto things.

she loves watching the birds and if you ask her where the birds are she point up to the sky.

and dancing! she can really wiggle her bum.

i think they are great at this stage (when happy and not ill/teething) but it's so bloody tiring! people laugh when i tell then i go to work for a rest, i get to have a seat, get lunch in peace and hot coffee.

lizziemun · 20/07/2008 20:53

My2weegirls

Both dd's are climbers. Lexie just goes over whatever in her way. She is walking can do about 10 steps by herself.

She also stands and wiggles her bum to music but this week has started lifting her t-shirt up and sticking out her tummy.

I'm jealous of all theese teeth, Lexie still only has her 2 bottom teeth although the top 2 look like they will come through very soon.

She stands in the middle of the room pointing going 'look' 'look'.

violetsmile · 20/07/2008 21:00

lIZZIE, I hadn't even thought about a grwth spurt! Could be! Thanks

He also dances and wiggles his bottom to music!

He is really into pointing and trying to say 'what's that?',

He stands up from sitting really well and bamgs on the door shouting 'dadda, dadda, dadda' when dh goes to work!

He is letting go and standing alone for about 30 seconds and has taken a few wobbly steps towards things.

He loves hiding in the curtains and playing peekaboo.

Tasha, I wonder if it's related to the prem thing then. My friend has always put it down to that as obviously, the earlier they are, the less developed their lungs are.

Whatever the reason, I hope it goes soon.

I did Health and Social Care at college and went on to do Social Sciences at Lincoln Uni. I loved it so i hope it goes well for you too.

My2weegirls, thanks for asking, me and dh did have the talk. We decided that we just need to be more considerate of eachother's feelings and appreciate eachother a bit more.

Like I said, it's not that we argue or don't get on anymore but we just seem to be 'existing' together instead of enjoying married life.

I guess that's what's happens for the first few years of having kids.

We'll keep trying as on the whole we have a good relationship but this last year has been tough on us both. He works more than ever and I'm knackered all the time!

I guess it's normal and from reading this thread I can see we are not alone!

Anyway, off for an early night. Goodnight ladies.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 20/07/2008 22:28

Wow at all the babies saying "look" and "what's that?" I'm so impressed with how they're all coming on now, they're proper little people!

James isn't anywhere near all that yet, he's still just going baba and gaga and googoo, but I do know he understands more than he says, for example he understands "be careful" as he goes to do whatever he was doing more slowly, and gently.

And he seems to understand simple sentences like "mummy kiss igglepiggle" and "daddy have the ball" and "where's your cup?" - he does such triumphant shrieks when he understands things, it must be a confusing, frustrating world for them not being able to make themselves understood.

I can see J turning into the class clown when he's older because he's constantly doing silly things just to make us laugh like putting boxes on his head, or getting behind things and peeping cheekily out at us.

Tasha sorry you're still getting Emma's Diary updates. As Lizzie said, there should be an option at the bottom of the emails to unsubscribe. Hope lo is better soon x

OP posts:
violetsmile · 21/07/2008 05:54

James sounds a little character! bless nhime. The gaga and baba sound fine though.

When I say Josh says 'what's that?', it actuall comes out as 'vah tat?' but we know what he means!

GillL · 21/07/2008 13:37

Blimey it's been busy on here over the weekend. I was out at my nan's birthday party on Saturday and was delighted at horrifying my stuck up aunt. She once said that if you can't/won't stay at home to look after your kids then you shouldn't have any kids. Anyway, she asked me if Alex sleeps well in the day so I said 'I dunno, ask mum'. Her reaction was quite funny. Yesterday was quite nice. Dh was out at an air show all day so I broke up the day by walking to the supermarket the long way round (picking up red elastic bands as we went - dd wanted to make a rubber band ball).

I'm feeling quite nauseous at the moment. I can't decide whether it's stress and worry or lack of sleep but dh and I got a bit carried away on the sofa on Saturday night out of reach of the condoms. We just did it anyway - right slap bang in the middle of my cycle! So I'm eagerly awaiting my period. I would love another baby but we just can't afford for me to take any more time off work on mat pay.

Sorry to hear about all the relationship problems. Dh and I sometimes get to the point where we are just existing and it feels like we're not as close as we used to be. Saturday night helped and we're getting on well at the moment. I think the tiredness and monotony and money worries just get on top of you sometimes. Lack of sex always has a big impact on our relationship too.

voilet - dd's bed times always got messed up when she was ill and then we had to do the sleep training again but it always got sorted after a few days.

James - work is a lot better thanks. It's still busy but much more manageable. The kids didn't get chicken pox so I guess they're not going to. I doubt we have to take them for hv checks legally. I thought I was very reasonable phoning a month in advance trying to change the appointment. I think once my assigned hv gets my letter (which I must write tonight) she'll probably be very accommodating. The others don't seem to care. Hope you get diagnosed soon and get some energy back.

Tasha - hope ds3 is better soon. I did an IT degree with the OU. I always used to find my grades got worse as the course went on. I used to just put it down to the courses getting harder. I didn't have 3 kids and a house to look after though. Don't let it get you down too much, you're doing great.

Hersetta · 21/07/2008 14:53

Wow - you lot were chatty ovr the weekend!

We had a nice break at my Mum's - weather was very hot though so we kept cool with regular dips in the pool which Caitlin loved. One day Caitlin was fully dressed watching my Mum in the pool when she decided she was going in too and flung herself at my Mum - who luckily caught her! Her swimming really is coming on well though and even her swimming teacher on Saturday commentated how she is really improving.

Apart from that she is doing well although she stand up all the time and cruses the furniture with a cheeky pleased with herself grin but she hasn't figured how to get back down to the floor yet and so cries until she either falls down or we come and rescue her and sit her back down again!

On wind down here at work as I leave next Thursday and start my new job on 18/8. Will be nice to spend 2 weeks at home although we have to clear up the garden before her first birthday party (haven't touched it al all since I got pregnant!) We also decided to take her to Great yarmouth for a couple of days which will be fun if the weather holds out.

helibee · 21/07/2008 23:35

hiya

James-sorry to hear about the pernicious anaemia, hope you get a diagnosis and treatment soon. James sounds so adorable and cute with his little antics.

Hersetta-wow at Caitlins swimming-hope the wind down at work is ok and you get a fab 2 weeks at home.

Knickers-i had bad spd in my pregnancy and i found the tramadol helped (i take it for my fibromyalgia anyway) but i doubt they'd prescribe it just for the spd unfortunatley. I also found getting up to the loo difficult and developed my own unique way of getting off the sofa! Hope you're not finding it too distressing.

Gill-hope you get AF if thats what you want and hope the nausea goes away, i was sick the other day and it bought back all the memories of 9 months of constant vomitting-thats what is putting dh and i off of trying again, if i could guarentee an easier pregnancy it would make life much easier but don't know how dh would cope if i was hospitalised again!

lizzie-Callum has his top 2 and bottom 2 teeth but i'm eagerly awaiting the rest, they seem very slow in coming! lexie sounds like she's doing really well in her walking.

tasha-how is lo-hope he's feeling better. 69% is still really good hon (especially with 3 kids, a house and with all you've been through being in and out of hospital with lo-hope it all works out with your new tutor! Has Bradley got his hospital date for his next op yet?

violet-glad you and dh had a talk and i hope it helps you both-i think it's very common to "co-exist" in a marriage sometimes after children. As for the fainting i'm not sure whats causing it-i'm going to the doctors when we get back from dads. It could just be my FM! Callum was up every 2 hours last night so i sympathise with you-anyway i'm off to bed now.

GillL · 22/07/2008 12:42

Glad you had a good time at your mum's Hersetta.

I've done some ovulation calculations online and there's a small chance I could have been at the tail end of fertility but my cycle is anything between 25 and 27 days so I'll just have to wait. AF should be due around 30th July.

It's very quiet on here after a busy weekend. Where is everyone?

violetsmile · 22/07/2008 20:10

Gill, hope you get af if that's what you want. You must be very anxious which will only make your period later so do try not to worry, although I realise that's impossible!

Helibee, hope they get to the bottom of the fainting. It sounds scary and not knowing what caused it must make it worse!
Sorry you had a bad night with Callum, my nights are not really improving .

Joshua only has his 2 bottom teeth and one top tooth so he looks a little lop sided when he grins!

Glad that you got nice weather Hersetta, I can't believe it's summer, we seem to have had rain or at least thick cloud for weeks! It's meant to be nice tomorrow though so me and dh are taking Josh to the local stately home it's got a huge park with deer and ducks to feed. DS loves animals and laughs hysterically at ducks and swans !

Hope you all had a good weekend.

helibee · 22/07/2008 23:45

Gill-i think i'll be very jealous if you get pregnant, i really want another one but as i said not sure if i could cope if i had such a bad pregnancy again.

violet-sorry your nights aren't improving. Callum was so upset today which is EXTREMELY unlike him, i think he's missing his daddy (dh had to fly back to Glasgow for work yesterday till fri whilst C and I stay at dads)-Callum seemed to calm down once he had spoken to dh on the phone. It's heartbreaking seeing him miss him so much-roll on fri (i'm missing dh very much too-just don't tell him or he'll get a BIG head )

violetsmile · 23/07/2008 10:55

Well so much for nice weather today, thick black clouds!

GillL · 23/07/2008 12:04

Hi violetsmile, helibee - I'm actually in two minds about the possibility of being pg. I've been broody almost since ds was born and I'd love to have another baby. However, it's just not the right time. Our financial situation is bad and I'd only be able to take 6 weeks mat leave (full pay) plus any holiday I'd have accrued. I was really hoping to be able to save enough money so I could take the full 9 months paid mat leave. I actually know 4 friends and family who are currently pg, including my best friend and I'm really envious I think if I do get AF it will be a mixture of relief and disappointment. It would be for the best though.

Sorry you're both having bad nights. I'm really looking forward to the day when ds starts sleeping in a bit later. He is normally awake between 5 and 5:30 every day. If he didn't wake us up then we wouldn't have to get til 6:30 or 7.

Dh was away last night for work. Dd was asking if he was having a sleepover in the hotel I managed to get to bed early. Ds went to sleep in the car on the way home after work and didn't wake up til 3:15. He never does that so he must have been shattered. Dd for once stayed awake in the car so at least I had some company.

tasha22 · 23/07/2008 13:50

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT ON THE COURSE THING. STILL NOWHERE NEAR FINISHED AND ITS DUE IN WED. I PHONED THE SPEECH THERAPIST AND SHE IS REFEREING HIM FOR A VIDEO THING TO SEE WHERE HIS MILK IS GOING. STILL HAVENT GOT A DATE FOR HIS OP BUT ITS SUPPOSED TO BE BEGINING OF AUGUST[HMM] HE GOT WEIGHED TODAY AND IS 14LB11OZ.

SORRY HAVE TO RUN

tokentotty · 23/07/2008 13:58

Hey folks, time for one of my very infrequent check ins with you all. Not had a chance to read through yet as I thought I'd do that after, just didn't want to miss this chance of saying hello. Started back at work full time last week but it's been far easier than expected. funnily enough when you know it's only for about 10 weeks its incredibly easy to feel positive about it all !! Found out I'll be having this baby (Jellybean this time round) first thing in the New Year as it'll be a planned section this time. It's so close to my emergency one with Paddy and the fact that despite a long labour with him I never passed 3cm dilated so it would to all intents and purposes be like a first time birth and they don't want to risk it.

Anyway, Paddy is wonderful but such a livewire!! Had his first steps last night which was lovely, but also a cause of head in hands as if he can be this active just crawling I can only imagine the mischief when he's walking !

Saw your mail about the 'accident' you had Gill - think it's just one of those, whatever's meant to be, type situations isn't it. Whichever way it goes it'll turn out ok, try and believe that xxxx

GillL · 23/07/2008 14:15

Hi TT. Good to hear from you. Hope the pg is going well. Are you giving up work or going part time? Well done to paddy for his first steps.

tokentotty · 23/07/2008 14:19

Well I'm back full time for these 10 weeks and then get the full maternity package again! Am very lucky for sure as it's even better now than when I had Paddy last year. Am definitely going to take the full year and then see if there's anything back here part-time wise. If not then I'll quite probably call it a day and stay home with the lunatics for a while.
