Now paint your face blue, and stick your tongue out at the world - end especially the half-wit-mid-life-crisis-lacking-common-sense-PMT-suffering-eejits we otherwise call men.

eandh, ratbunny, susie, UD - this one's for you

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Reggiee · 20/05/2008 18:13

Hi LTH. DH was a big Dexter fan. But I never watched it so can't join in. I was always in the room MNetting whilst it was on . Looked a bit gory at times when I looked up from the computer screen.

Wilkie - I got the razor too and I am really impressed. It is fab indeed.
If anyone signs up to bzzagent, make sure you complete as many surveys as possible. And don't expect to get a campaign immediately - I've only had 4 in the past year but that's pretty good going.

Gotta go and check on my shepherds pie that's bubbling....

ladytophamhatt · 20/05/2008 18:25

Regggie....hmmmm, i'm not sure Dh will wantto talk about Dexter in the way I do.

My God, Dexter in series 2 is sooooooooooooo shaggable!

the programme itself is thebest thibg on telly but he amkes it especially good

Reggiee · 20/05/2008 18:38

Back again. No doubt you'll be pleased to hear the shepherds pie is now ready to go in the oven when dh gets back from his run.

So, what's the gossip? You've been chatting a lot today.

Lal - why do you never have time to post? You telling us you have a rl . What've you been up to then?

2H - pmsl at polishing the cat. Not sure any cat would stand for that. There was a dead mouse on our stairs today - the first one in ages. And on the stairs - really bizarre - normally they leave 'kill' on the front door mat. How's ds2 btw?

Loosh - am about your home help. I work 80% full time and can't cope with anything beyond keeping the kitchen and bathroom clean. When any toy rolls under the sofa, I must pull out about two metres of hair before actually finding the toy.

Susie how's things at home atm? Funny thing with ginger sideburns. Dh has no ginger hairs except when his sideburns grow. Are you talking about Britains Next Model?

PCF hope married life is treating you well. Think P is getting a cold. I have snot streaked trousers this evening. Cool look I think

UD it was a long tea last night . What've you been up to?

Lizz / Vino / Eah / good cooks - have just been given loads of rhubarb. My rhubarb repertoire is only crumble, so I have stewed it all ready to make into lots of crumbles. But do you know any good recipes or alternatives I can make?

Dragon - how's the bump? Great that L & R are sleeping well in the same room.

Wilkie good news re the house. Hope you get someone in quickly. Did you have a nice day today - buy anything?

Hello anyone that I've missed.

Reggiee · 20/05/2008 18:39

Lth I'll ask dh if Dexter is shaggable when he's back later

theAfkaUrbanDryad · 20/05/2008 19:22

Heh - we watched My Neighbour Totoro last night. I heart Studio Ghibli!

Loosh i am also very of your home help, but then i only work part-time so i should be at least partly a domestic goddess! having said that, i do do a 5 day week, i just get my "weekend" on Wed and Thurs, so i work Fri-Tues, which is bizarre! tis the only way I can turn a profit though, as it means h can have Z at the weekend so i don't pay nursery fees! am constantly knackered though as on the days i'm not working i'm with Z, so it feels like i never get a break!

whinge whinge whinge!

ratbunny · 20/05/2008 19:53

hi everyone!
urban - I love ghibli too! my fave is spirited away - such a chilled out, fantastic film. totoro is pretty good too, but I find it a bit slow (have to fast forward to the totoro bits!)
susie - thanks for the post - it was really thoughtful, and makes me feel better.
wilkie - razor sounds fab - I always get red marks when I remember to shave.
pmsl at the ginger discussion. dh has a little bit of ginger in his beard, and I was worried s might be. agree that ginger girls look lovely tho.
sorry to everyone I missed out
Well S is becoming a little chatterbox. He is talking constantly now, and saying so many words in context it makes me wonder where on earth he picked it all up!
Wathing Homer on the simpsons try to get a sweet off his back reminds me of S last night - I tucked his monkeys head into the back of his t-shirt. He span round and round trying to get it out - we were rofl.
Dh is still in a bad way, but we are coping. It is hard though..

theAfkaUrbanDryad · 20/05/2008 20:35

i absolutely love Spirited Away, the first time I saw it it made me cry with the sheer beauty of it!!

PCF - when we were in A&E with Z when he was tiny we were there for ages and saw about 3 different dr's, 2 registrars and a variety of nurses! he was fine - we discharged ourselves in the end. not saying you should do that with Alex but i'm sure he's absolutely fine. Z just had a viral rash in the end!

SmoothandWilkie · 21/05/2008 06:36

PCF - how are things this morning? Is Alex OK?

Dragonhart · 21/05/2008 09:34

Pink- Hope all is ok and that he is back home with you. xxx

Thanks for all the replies for the toddler bed. EAH- Luke went straight into a single bed as he was bigger and had the whole room to himself. There's not really space in the room for two singles as it is an odd shape (planning on bunk beds when Luke is a bit older) so toddler bed is best option really. Have loads of single sheets so will take your tips and just use them. Looked at the ones in Mothercare vino and did like them and as there is one not much more than the one from Argos might opt for that. Always worry about buying funiture from there as you cant look at it.

Rgee- My bump is doing well, and I have to say that I am totally convinced it is a boy. Not sure why. I am much bigger than I was with Ruth and Luke but suppose that could be because of all the stretched muscles and all the sit ups I didnt do between them! I have pretty much grown out of my mat jeans already and have ages to go so will prob be in skirts for the next few months.

My hips are killing me tho but that could be because I seem to have started nesting really early! Sorting the whole house out and it is cleaner and tidier than it has been for ages. Have to say Loosh that despite being at home all day, I am as far from a domestic goddesss as you can get! Always have more fun things to do with the kids. Having said that I did do a massive backet of ironing the other day. Some of the stuff in there had been there for months!

susiecutiebananas · 21/05/2008 11:18

Morning all

PCF: Really hope everything is ok with Alex. Bit worried as no news- of course there is far more to life than MN though! THinking of you and alex. hope he is ok.

Wilkie: I forgot to give you my emial address then I can give you my address for the coupon, cant wait to give it a try! Might I actually not have to walk around with scars and scabs this summer, really??

susie brett at mac dot com

Rat: you are welcome I just understand some of what you are going through. I also know just what you mean about the LO's and their words. izzy comes out with the strangest things. The other morning though, I'd out her next to me on the bed whilst I got my boobs out to feed her, just about to get comfy and I hear this loud voice saying " I'm Reaaaady " I couldn't stop laughing. She says it alot now. not always in context though She ever stops nattering though, Its lovely really. All her non stop noise babbling is peppered with very clear words all over the place. I love it really, so sweet. HTe way seh says Mummy is the cutest ever!

Reggie: thank you for asking We're coping, thank you. Thanks btw, am now having shepherds pie tonight, couldn't decide what to make!
oh, and yes, it is Britains Next top model. I was also addicted to Americas Next top model. Almost identical script from the presnters though, which I find a bit odd. Are you watching too? If yes, who do you want to win?

Loosh: I have a cleaner once a week. I didn't feel right aout it at first, as i'm at home, but, I can't do most if it at all, and DH was spending most of his time at home at hte weekend doinf housework and washing etc. I felt terrible as he was not getting any proper time to rest. So we got a cleaner. I could do with someone poppig in every day really. Some days I can't manage to stand at the sink to wash up. reckon a dishwasher would be a good idea too anyway, do not feel guilty or what ever it was, about it at all! GOod for you.

DH: I also started nesting really early with Izzy its a funny 'instinct' that one. I couldn't get my head around it, I found cleaning so difficult and painful, yet I had to do it. All the cupboard insides etc, ever been so clean! {grin]

LTH: I have never seen Dexter. Should i then, would you recommend it ?

E&H where are you??

UD: SOunds like you need a lady that does too. we had to weigh up the cost against our how much a difference it made to us every day. IFSWIM. I'm about to change to a new one as my current cleaner speaks no english at all, and its becoming a big problem since her cleaning is not always good and i've no way of talking to her about it! My brothers cleaner is going to come to us now. I can't wait she is quicker and better which means all the ironing will get done too! Have you thought about it at all? Just to help you. One less jpb for you to do.

Sorry if missed anyone! hope you are all well, of course

Izzy is being very difficult this week. Teething at night for sure, and just shouting and whining and pinching/biting all day. I don't know what to do with her. Yesterday was terrible i was at the end of my tether. this morning hasn't been much better so far either. 2 tantrums already. She wanders up the drive when we go in the garden and says 'bye-bye' to me, then I hear her half way up shouting 'Daddy?' she must just associate the drive with him as thats where she see's him last in his car. She was sobbing in the night and saying Daddy loads, then found his dressing gown and curled up on it scrunching it in her hand, she then fell asleep. not sure I can manage another day like yesterday! help ???? !!!!

Reggiee · 21/05/2008 19:54

Hi PCF. Glad all is well. Hope you get a nice long sleep tonight.

So, how many households have the footie on tonight ?

SmoothandWilkie · 21/05/2008 20:01
Reggiee · 21/05/2008 20:32

DH is being evicted to the small telly updtairs soon

Reggiee · 21/05/2008 20:33

Or we might split the screen

SmoothandWilkie · 21/05/2008 21:02

MrsC doing well here

susiecutiebananas · 21/05/2008 21:40

Wilkie, Apprentice is on right now! Been on since 21:00

PCF: Glad that Alex seems ok and home today, thats a relief I bet. Hope you get a good sleep to catch up.

I've got Apprentice on here, no football... the pros of spending the week on my own; ca watch what ever, whenever, never an argument over the remote! I have to say if DH were here, he'd not have it on anyway, he's not a football kind of guy. he's working a night shift tonight as it happens anyway. Worked 7am til 3pm then back at 8pm til 5am or later... glad i'm not up there this week, he'll be exhausted.

Reggie: I think I can split the screen but not sure how... should actually look at the intructions for it, I think its quite an all singing dancing set gawd knows how though. I'm sure it even makes a cuppa too...

Lizzzombie · 22/05/2008 07:35

Ugh - DP watched footie at a mates house. Got back at midnight... rather merry. This morning not so merry. Rather green infact. It is apparent he has lost the ability to drink to excess. It happens every single time. So annoying. Clean loo too!

Have chickend out of cutting DJ's golden locks myself, and noticed a new trendy barbers nearby (& tatooist) "Demon barbers & Flamin' tatoo" They do kids under 5 years for £5. Sorted. Will post before and after photos!

PCF - Big hugs, hope the rash is going and all is well. Very scarey for you all.

Good to see MrsC is posting and recovering well.

Right...off to work to placate the mothers and their PFB's. Great fun (I really need a new job!)
