Now paint your face blue, and stick your tongue out at the world - end especially the half-wit-mid-life-crisis-lacking-common-sense-PMT-suffering-eejits we otherwise call men.

eandh, ratbunny, susie, UD - this one's for you

Blue - I am actually sat here in tears that you thought to check up on here! Farking hormones. Thank you.

Yes, because Zac was 6lbs8oz at 38 weeks, they think I might just make smaller babies. I think that Z was small because I didn't manage to give up smoking until I was about 24 weeks pg (and still had the odd crafty one - I was getting married! It was a stressful time for me! ) but with this pg I've quit almost straight away - partly because the sickness is so much worse this time around! Anyway, they've set my EDD at 23rd Feb, which is 5 days after my birthday, so expensive time all round for us! We do seem to conceive well around Beltane! (old hippy emoticon needed)

omg I cant believe he is 17weeks okd already how are things with 3 boys then???

UD - well Done on smoking my Mum gave up when she had my brotehr but carried on when she was pg with me (apparently my brother was a handful ) although bizarrly I weighed a 1 lb more than him and I was 3 weeks early (he was 10days late)

Ellie weighed more than Hattie (E was 7lb 10ox and H was 6lb 13oz but H was 7 days earlier than E)

MOM- Hope all is well with you and lo. Cant beleive he is that old! I still have 8weeks (although prob closer to 7 as having a cs again).

UD- If you go to full term or even overdue this time it could make a difference. Luke was 42wks and weighed 8lbs7 (them proceeded to pile on the puonds and jumped up to 98th centile!) and Ruth was 39wks and weighted 6lbs3 and stayed on the 9th centile until she discovered food and is now on the 50th. They said if she had gone overdue too, she would probably have been similar weight.

Took Luke to playgroup this morning and he cried again It is horrible and I know that as he only has 3wks (including this one) he will just get used to it then we will have to do it all over again in sept when I have a month old baby.

On the bright side, as they were up early, Ruth has gone for an early nap and I get to have an hour on my own!!!!

DH - it will get better (ellie cried for 1st day back in sept andthen suddendly loved the place and now cries if she cant go) I love the mornings as H always falls asleep on way back from school so I have almost 2 hours to myself, today I have emptied the loft (bar a few boxes) and culled the playroom I now have 6 huge boxes of toys/curtains/clotehs etc and am doing a boot fair a week sunday and pricing everything v.cheaply as it needs to be gone

Laughalot just phoned , Aiden fully recovered from c.pox and no signs on Lauren yet (they fly home friday so fingers crossed for next 2 days)

Eddas and her dc coming round later and itsd a lovely day so will put Ellie and her dd outside in the playhouse

UD - i wouldn't assume its down to smoking. I smoked until 29 weeks with ds1 and he was 8lb 1 !! DS3 was tiny at 6lb 11oz at 38 weeks so it could just be that Z is a small baby

3 boys is quite crazy! Now that i am climbing out of my PND pit i am starting to properly enjoy it. AM still bf which is a personal best for me! 8 weeks dragonhart??!! wow that went soooo fast!!

Well I've had a lovely child-free day in Oxford today, meeting up with another MNer and having lunch. Was the furthest I've ever been away from Z and made my boobs tingle watching her nurse her lo! Very odd.

Me and Z are going to go for a bath now, i think, as he has his tea down him and i'm all sweaty from sitting in the car for an hour!!

MOM- Sorry to hear you had PND but hope that lo is doing ok. Not sure how I will handle 3 after the day I have had with Luke and Ruth! xxx

Sounds nice Urban. I loved oxford when we went for the day.

EAH- Thanks for the advice. He came out all excited today and does have a good time. It is just the crying before that is hard. Suuppose they all find it hard when they go back in sept.

Right I need some advice. I have to confirm tommorrow if I am going to a wedding that is at the beg of Aug when I will be nearly 38wks preg. It is a close friend of mine and DH and I really really want to go.

But, it is about 1 3/4 hour drive away and would either involve a hotel stay (idea of sleeping in a bed that isnot mine is not very appealing atm) or a drive home late. It is also in Aug so bound to be boiling. It is a church wedding so lots of standing around and walking in between too.

Would I be crazy to go? I have been having a lot of trouble with my back and hips and atm am having to push myself further than I would like to as DH is having to work quite alot of overtime. Obviously I have to do all the things for Luke and Ruth, so cant really take it easy.

But I really want to go. Kids not invited so would be a nice day for me and DH before this baby came. Can anyone remember how bad you felt at 38 wks? You would think that I would remember this being the third time round!

Sickness eh UD? must be a girl then

Dragon can't believe you only have 7ish weeks to go!

How was this afternoon Eah? Hot here today - presume even hotter daaaaawn saaaaaath.
Do you get anniversary presents for each other btw? It's our 5th shortly after yours.

2h does the insomnia make you feel really tired, or are you one of these people who can function on 5 hours sleep a night? I think if I were an insomniac, I'd spend even more time on MN too. Every cloud and all that .
Stayed approx 5 mins drive up the big hill from Eureka on outskirts of the 'fax. Great views from there over the valley and all of the town. Wondered if I could spot Wilkie moving in to her new gaff...

Shimmer have you got a ring yet?

Had to laugh at the comment on lo's 'report' from nursery. It said "P has spent all day pointing at the floor and saying spider". WTF? So, she likes a bit of incy wincy spider but what is going on in her head? Pmsl.

DH I'd be tempted to go. Could you leave slightly earlier and drive home at say 9/10pm rather than when everyone is rolling drunk on the floor and dancing to Come on Eileen? It would be nice to spend time with your dh child free - I guess it will be the last time for a few months. Just take eveything slowly. If you've lots of friends going too, they'll really spoil you.

Glad you are feeling better MOM

DH- hmmm a tough one I felt crap at 38 weeks (had h at 38+3) but if I could have had a child free day that invovled free food then I'd have been tempted, think rgee suggestion good but assuming dh would want a drink and would you want to drive home?

Rgee - pah to that old wives tale I had 1 morning of feeling sick with e and about 2 mornings with h (although am sure that was food related)

Lovely afternoon but baking the temp gauge in my lounge said 29degrees and thats teh coolest room in the house. Ellie and eddas dd emptied every toy they could find (humprh after my massive toy cull/tidy this morning)

Both girls were conked out by 6.30 think it was the heat, have put fans in both of their rooms. DH popping out tonight so just me and mn

ooo almost forgot hattie has decided if we are indoors she hates nappies and takes them off but she seems to have grasped the idea of going on the potty for a wee (about 60% success rate) shame she hasnt worked out the poo business, we're not pushing it and just letting her do it if she wants and then if she has a few accidnets we out a nappy back on but she was very chuffed with her in the night garden knickers my Mum got her they are size 18-24months but so baggy on her!!

Rgee- LOL that they have 'reports' for 18mo!

EAH- DH would not be drinking either. No way I would end up in labour miles away from home and have him wasted! Also he offered so didnt have to nag!

DH - i went into labour at 38 weeks, but Z was back to back so by that time had crippling back pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. I was soooooo fed up by that point - i don't think I'd have wanted to go to a wedding tbh. BUT i also think that my dates for Z were messed up, and that I was 40+ weeks when they thought i was 38 IYGWIM. At "their" 36 weeks (my 38 ish weeks) i felt fine, albeit as big as a house (think it was around Xmas if i remember) and had bad heartburn. I'd still want to go to a nice wedding though - and even though it's August it's usually nice and cool in a church, isn't it?

I think it must be hereditary

DH. I think I would go. BUT be prepared for all eventualities . You could leave early evening as you said.. and well done to your DH for staying off the drink. Check out where all the local hospitals are too

At 38 weeks with my number 3, I had a 2 week old baby

morning everyone!
Can't believe you were eating sprouts in July Rgee!?!?

eah - well done H on the potty. Am not even thinking about that yet!

Quick question for those of you with LO's with asthma... DJ has a nasty cough at the moment. Has had it for a while and its not wheezy all the time, only a little bit. The Dr reckons it could be acid reflux and perscribed him infant gaviscon. Which I totally don't think it is as this morning he's really chesty and hasn't had any breakfast yet (even though we've been up since 5.15am!!!) I'm sure the Dr is wrong, but she listend to his chest etc and said its totally clear. I don't know wether to go back and ask her again.

DH - I'd not bother with a wedding which is that far away in your position. If it was local then it would be not so much of an issue, but the drive alone would be enough to put me off!

Its low tide all this week here at the moment, and I took DJ down to the beach yesterday afternoon, even though it was 5pm it was mega hot still, and he went ballistic on me, really did not want to paddle at all. Just sit on the pebbles and scream, and throw pebbles at his bucket. My mates little girl who is nearly 3 had a great time in the waves though. I love living by the seaside!!!

Not sure UD but H has been screaming all morning, Ellie walked past her and she didnt touch her and she went screaming after her hands flapping etc

Lizz - H has asthma, we have a spacer and blue inhaler for when she gets a cough/cold as she gets very wheezy. I saw 2 Dr's who said her chest was clear and then happen to see the nurse about something else but she is the asthma nurse and said she did have it. We used to have brown inhaler for daily use but as she only seems affected if the weather is damp or 'close' or is she has a cold etc then we have stopped using brown inhaler and just have blue one. I have a spare spacer and inhaler in the car as she did get very wheezy at the farm so looks like some animal/fur may trigger it as well

Cant remember who asked what we're going to see at the cinema but we've not decided between Hancock (dh choice), mamma mia (my choice) or Wanted (in the middle we both wouldnt mind seeing that)

Report
Dragonhart · 02/07/2008 09:54

Lizz- TBH the drive is not what is worrying me, it is the fact we will be far away ffrom home and our hospital. As I am having cs just worrie dthat if I do go into labour early, it will be an issue if we are at another hospital. I know I should not go but I want to!

Oh and I am off to the beach too today, bit colder than where you are as going to Inverness to see my dad. Might see some dolphins though!

Dreading the long journey but will be nice to have a bit of a holiday.

EAH- Ment to say sounds great with H potty training.

Rgee- My two love sprouts! The otherday I tried making Nigella's quick mac cheese and gave them sprouts with it. They both refused to eat the mac cheese and gobbled up the sprouts!

Right, off now to pack so will speak next week when we get back. Have a good weekend everyone! xxx

eah - that is very interesting. 2 doctors have now told me that they cant diagnose asthma before 2 years old. And my Mum is an asthma nurse and she recommends ventolin if wheezy before 2 years in case it is asthma. I just don't understand why the Dr decided it was acid reflux when he is obviously chesty.

UD - Maybe its not just a phase, maybe you do really produce goblin children?!

Lizzz - we've been wondering for a while whether Z is in fact a changeling, when he seemed to talk to us at 5 months We've yet to test him with cold iron - perhaps we fear the results?!

pmsl UD!!!

Lizz - thats exactly what the asthma nurse said (the 2yr old bit) but with family history (I have asthma, dh sister and neice and nephew) plus my Nan etc its likely she has it, Ellie has never wheezed so missedher, strange that the only bits of ezcema they have are in the exact same place, size etc and flare up at the same time!!
