Now paint your face blue, and stick your tongue out at the world - end especially the half-wit-mid-life-crisis-lacking-common-sense-PMT-suffering-eejits we otherwise call men.

eandh, ratbunny, susie, UD - this one's for you

Evening - I can 'talk'now the girls are in bed and dh watching tennis, enchanted forest fab, Ellie discovered the hidden tree swings so spent ages on those and Hattie just loved having the freedom to run a bit. Ellie is convinced she saw a fairy near a toadstool ( think I have been reading to many fairy stories) we ended up staying longer than we anticipated hence the overtired grumpy dd and moaning dh earlier.

Tantrums - cant help Ellie is Queen tantrum and so stubborn (eddas will verify that she can go on and on where her dd gives up after 20mins) I try and ignore Hattie where possible although in public I tend to give her food as that resolves most things for her

2Happy · 27/06/2008 20:23

D'you think I'd look like a freaky controlling daft-heided wifey if I phoned dh?

He was on call all weekend. Went to Stirling Tuesday but had to drive back in order to be on call tuedsday night. Weds he drove to the Wirral, stayed with old colleague and drank too many beers then went to course all day yesterday, drove back home got here midnight, kids were up 6.10 (hallelujah! second time in a month ds2's been up later than 5.15am!). Not on call this weekend, but it's 20 past eight and he's not home yet. He wouldn't normally call to say he's going to be late, and I wouldn't normally phone to check up on him, and if something had happened I've no doubt I would hear. But where the fuck is he? Maybe he knew the kids were complete shits at bedtime, and coming home late was the only way to let me cool off about him not being there to help at bedtime for the umpteenth time this week...

Happy birthday LTH.
Glad you had a ncie day EandH.
Rgee - lol! Didn't even think of that!! ds1 will forever be pictured in your head up to his neck in a hole in the beach!!

no phone him 2happy - dh not allowed to take his phone to work anymore (security issues since his work was the one thats lost squillions in that big raid a few years ago) and if he leaves at 5am and isnt home by 7pm I ring the depot to see if his van back, they are all realy lovely and normally wind me up me that he is having a coffee and waiting till he knows the dd's are in bed or if he is on route home tell me to start cooking the dinner

2Happy · 27/06/2008 20:29

He'll think I'm being daft. But I genuinely do feel for him, he works shit hours. And ds1-I-think-that-getting-up-after-5am-is-four-wimps doesn't fecking help.

Hold up, I heard a car door...

Yup that's the front door. See? I was being daft!

Oh dear. Not a good day. Off to give comfort (beer)

wonderwomanakaeandh · 27/06/2008 20:37

glad he is home safely (and feeling the 5.15am starts they both slept in their own beds all night and didnt wake till 7am this morning that is a lay in in this house )

Wilkiepedia · 28/06/2008 06:51

2Happy - you're not daft. We are supposed to worry about our men!

Reggiee - are you gonna persuade DH to have another then?

We were up at 5.45am today as DH's alarm woke J up!

Went to the house yest - EEEEKKK there is so much work to do - all cosmetic but lots of it. It looks like they haven't done anything for the 13 years they lived there! Still, it is spotless so can't complain too much. Can't wait to get moved tomorrow - we are surrounded with packing boxes.

I will be offline for a few days from tonight - Virgin coming on Thurs to install broadband.

wonderwomanakaeandh · 28/06/2008 06:57

morning wilkie - sounds like you are going to be busy at the new house, ahve you decided any colours etc yet?

Wilkiepedia · 28/06/2008 09:37

Nope - I have seen a gorgeous wallpaper in Laura Ashley for the lounge, think I will stick with mushroomy/cream colours in there but apart from that, haven't a fecking clue!

katw3kitts · 28/06/2008 16:05

DH is fine ... thanks for your thoughts.

In fact he's more than fine.

Grinning like the proverbial cheshire cat for the next few weeks ... got upgraded to the sports version which is apparantly much better with twice the engine and power

Currently counting his pennies to see if he can afford one !

Dragonhart · 28/06/2008 18:15

Glad all ok Kat. Hope it doesnt end up costing you too much!

Wilkie- Does the whole house need doing then? That sounds exciting. Lots choosing colour schemes. I love the choosing, it is the doing I hate!

2happy- Sounds like DH is working really hard. Do you have another break planned soon or is it just one of those weeks?

Rgee- If you want an antidote for feeling broody, just come and visit me. I will moan and moan at you until you remember just how horrible being pregnant is!

All's well here. Apart from feeling like I cant believe that I still have 9weeks to go. Feels like the last few weeks/days with Luke and Ruth. I cant have this baby early as if it is a boy, we still havent agreed on a name!

Anyone know where I might get size 4 wellies by tue? Cant seem to find anything smaller than a 5 in the few shops that have wellies this time of year.

Dragonhart · 28/06/2008 18:20

Ignore the wellie question. Just checked on the mothercare website and it says they do do size 4 even though the assistant said they only did 5+. Will ring tomorrow and see if they have any!

vinorouge · 28/06/2008 18:45

DH I got some size 4 wellies in Boots a month or so ago if that helps.

Shimmer · 28/06/2008 23:33

Thanks for all your thoughts on the bookshop name ladies. Unfortunatly Once Upon a Time is already registered to another company, so we can't have it! In fact all the decent names we thought of have have been taken, apart from Far Away and Long Ago. Even just Far Away (or Far Far Away) is not available. Although, I do think it'll probably end up being shorted to Far Away anyway, to make it easier for the lazy people like RGee to say So... still undecided about the length at the moment... will have to give it some more thought when I have a second (so maybe about September next year...)

Had a lovely day today. It waS DPs birthday and we actually had a day out with just the 3 of us, which hardly ever happens. We went to London zoo. It was brilliant, Freddie loved running around (with a cursory glance at the gorrillas, lions, penguins etc.) and going to the playground there. And when he got completely exhasted and fell asleep in his pushchair DP and I got some beers and sat in the sun in Regents Park. I feel nicely sunburnt this evening

Vino I just saw the pictures of Sylvie on FB. So goregous! Ohhhhh, I'm NOT allowing myself to be broody at the moment.

Best of luck with the move Wilkie. Hope it all goes smoothly. I absolutely LOVE decorating! Although I haven't done it for a while... If I remember rightly it is one of those things where the novelty tends to wear thin pretty quickly.

Dragonhart · 29/06/2008 18:49

Thanks Rgee. Got some in Mothercare in the end. They are pink and glittery and very cute. So tiny!

Shimmer- I still like the length. I think it makes it more personal when you give a shop like that your own nickname.

Reggiee · 29/06/2008 19:24

Sorry Kat forgot to ask how your dh was . Read your post at work (in a moment of wishing everyone would leave me alone to get on with my huge to-do list - so obviously MN was the best way forward ). Glad he's fine and happy .

Wilkie - know you won't be reading this, but good luck and happy unpacking vibes going your way. I am wearing dh down with my nagging

Just come back from a lovely couple of days with friends in Halifax. We were really spoilt and went to Eureka which was fab.

wonderwomanakaeandh · 29/06/2008 20:27

Glad he is okay Kat and hope he is still counting pennies for his new car

Rgee - sounds as if you had a lovely weekend (Pippa must be so used to being a 'travelled' baby we never go anywhere )

Dragon - sound v.cute (was going to say dams do tiny wellies but you have some now )

Wilkie - hope move went well

Shimmer - am loving all the names (and I'll be coming to visit with Ellie when its opened but I'll be leaving Hattie at home to much hard work on train and tube with them both)

Vino - hope you have had a nice weekend and the girls ( I like tying that!) have behaved for you

UD - havent 'seen' you on MN last few days hope all is okay

Not much to report here, had a child free night last night (although was to late to organise doing anything) Ellie knows how to ring my parents from the home phone and she'd rung them at 4pm to ask if she could have dinner there and could she sleep, the only way we knew was because she went upstairs and was packing her little trolly case, phoned my Mum back and she assumed we knew she'd rung, anyway they said they could stay so dropped them off and we had chinese and watched a film (although we were both awake by 7.30am this morning) picked them up went swimming and then back to parents for BBQ for my brothers birthday.

We have another child free sat night next week as its our 5th wedding anniversary and IL's having them and we're going to the cinema

2Happy · 30/06/2008 05:03

FFS both kids actually still asleep at 5am, so I've been wide awake since 4 . I hate fucking insomnia. Thanks to it and ds2 I haven't slept properly in bloody ages and I am sick of it. Mind you, I could use the time more constructively than MNing, still haven't done ds1's birthday thank you cards

kw3 - sorry, also forgot to ask re: dh. Hope he's happy with the new car anyway!!
eandh - I never thought going to the cinema would be one of the things I miss most since having kids. We didn't go that often, but I get really when people go! What are you going to see?
reg - how was the mighy 'Fax?! Whereabouts were you staying (ah! the memories!)
Wilkie - hope the move is going well
UD - yes, where are you? Hope the blood tests have been ok
dh - oh I remember that "how can I possibly still have 9 weeks left" type feeling! Hope you#re bearing up!

Aha, the hard drive has finished dubbing Gavin and Stacey - at least now I can watch a dvd; tv is all teleshopping and big brother, Why don't they put something on for insomniacs?!

OP posts:
Dragonhart · 30/06/2008 09:46

Urban- Hope all goes well today at the scan. xxx

2happy- Was Gavin and stacy good? Seen one or two and it looks funny, was thinking about renting a box set.

theSuburbanDryad · 30/06/2008 11:34

Hi everyone!!

Scan went really well - although as I didn't have a full enough bladder i had to have another internal (I told the sonographer they could either have nil by mouth from midnight OR a full bladder, but not both!!) but I SAW THE BABY!! It's tiny, they think i'm about 6 weeks now, but i could be further as Z was so small at term, they think i might just be predisposed to have having small babies.

My EDD is 23rd Feb '09, so I've stuck my head round the AN thread. You'll all still be my faves though! Will try to put the scan pic on my profile, although it's so small you can't really see anything.

Hope everyone else is ok! Thanks for the bra Lizzz - it arrived today, I'll put some money in your account now (meant to do it over the weekend, can i blame my pg brain? )

No time to post more as got to get to work. TTFN mwah mwah xxx

Lizzzombie · 30/06/2008 12:46

Fab news UD! So, only 8 months to go then. How exciting. Can't believe there is a Feb 09 thread already...and you didn't start it! LOL!

theSuburbanDryad · 30/06/2008 18:18

They're already on their 2nd thread, Lizzz! I think they talk more than we do!!

Dragonhart · 30/06/2008 19:42

Glad all went well Urban. I seem to make both big and small babies. Having had a whopper like Luke then a tiddler like Ruth, I have no idea what this one will be!

wonderwomanakaeandh · 30/06/2008 20:54

Glad it all went well UD, going to be expensive 3 months for you in the future, hristmas,Zacs bday and the baby bday!! (in fact my mate due on 19th july, her birthday 17th july and her dd is 1st august so need to buy lots of cards and presents!)

BlueDragonfly · 30/06/2008 22:00

Glad all went well UD

Had to come back to this thread to check!!!

Are they unsure of your actual EDD then ebcause you have small babies? What did your LO weigh? or is a length issue?

Sorry but i am not stalking you to the Feb thread as well

To all who remember/know me (although i was mumofmonsters then) I have skim read from time to time but i haven;t kept up enough to remember namechanges and LO's names and things like that!

I cannot believe that 2 years ago i had to leave this thread Glad you still let me hijack every so often though

Babymonster is 17 weeks old now
