Now paint your face blue, and stick your tongue out at the world - end especially the half-wit-mid-life-crisis-lacking-common-sense-PMT-suffering-eejits we otherwise call men.

eandh, ratbunny, susie, UD - this one's for you

theAfkaUrbanDryad · 28/05/2008 21:02

i used to be able to fill up the tank on my battered old Nova (aka "The Wheels Of Justice") with £20!!

wonderwomanakaeandh · 28/05/2008 21:04

I had an 'A' reg red nova as my very first car, I loved that car (It was a death trap though)

I had a new tattoo done yesterday...I'm so common
Photos on profile if you want to see how common I am

Re petrol, our S-max used to cost almost £60 to fill up even before the prices hikes. Now I never let it run to empty as it'd cost £70+....which means if I do the food shopping and petrol on the same day its often around £250 [yikes]

I never let it go below half full now and £30 fills it back up.

We walked to school a few times last week too (environment week so they asked us too, it wasn't my idea!!) and it wasn't too bad, we'll prob do it more often no wthe morings are warmer.

Hi there.
Am loving all these new photos (except perhaps any of spiders or tattoos LTH ). It is amazing to see how they've all grown. I feel like I'm a proud auntie to them all (someone slap me please)
Both highchair ones on PCF and UD's are great, and Eah - Snow White is beautiful! WIlkie J's hair is really growing. It looks sooo soft.

PCF sorry to hear you've got hf&m too. Hope it gets better soon. How long does it last?

I am so not a car lover. Am a proper girl in this respect and my knowledge of cars pretty much extends to colours . Petrol is bloody expensive though. Thankfully I rarely use the car. My first car was a shit red one. A company car and was a Vectra I think.

Lizz can't wait to hear about your day. Spill! How's your cellulite?? You packed yet btw?

Dragon - Rachael is an excellent name . Although the spelling can sometimes be an issue belive it or not. Glad mil is doing well btw.

2H am sooo looking forward to my hols. Hope the weather is nice.

Shimmer enjoy Paris (and have a nice bday too). A lot of people I know got engaged there

Lal what've you been up to? Too busy to post?? What rl are you having?

Eah will your downstairs be sorted by the weekend then? Am amazed you find time to MN and work and do all that. Much respect.
Well our new windows and doors are in and look fab. Was a bit hesitant about getting it done as it meant getting rid of the original nice feature windows, but we got them copied and it has worked really well.

Vino hope you're still taking it easy. Not long now!!

Busy weekend ahead. Mate over tomorrow am, then godmother over, then friend over pm staying til Sunday. Then inlaws over for a bbq. Revolving doors in this house.

wonderwomanakaeandh · 29/05/2008 19:56

Rgee - you always have such busy weekends! Have rubbed down the windowsill, skirting boards and stairs today but cant gloss them till the girls are not around (or do them when they are in bed to give them time to dry) My dad is coming around to fit fireplace in and channel the tv wires in for us and the big stair wall to do but it should be 80% done by weekend. Windows sound nice.

Just put a couple of new pics on profile - not good quality as from my phone but H looking very cheeky in one of them

Got a bargain in dunelim mill today they have a huge sale on, got chcolate brown curtains with cream and green print flowers reduced from £30 to £3.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SmoothandWilkie · 29/05/2008 19:57

Who reckons EAH drills holes in her furniture to hide 'messy' wires??

wonderwomanakaeandh · 29/05/2008 20:04

Nah they are all chanelled into the walls away out of sight (or hidden in apporiate colour trunking)

Reggiee · 29/05/2008 20:08

Yeah. Freakin weekends. Just want a quiet one sigh. Although I'd probably get bored and twitchy and have to rub down my windowsill . Next quiet weekend is August some point.
Can't wait to tell you about my weekend after next though. I am off sans lo for a romantic weekend chez dh and some mates for a spa/golf weekend.

A Dunelm Mill has recently opened here. Is it worth a visit? Need new curtains for my new windows!
Wilkie I totally agree

vinorouge · 29/05/2008 20:16

E&H - What is trunking???

I've had a busy day. Well it feels like it. Went to see HR to drop off forms for maternity pay cos it needed processing today but they only just sent me the forms. Asda for a few bits but forgot washing up liquid so DH has just gone to get some. Then midwife appt that was delayed - baby is def head down and engaged so all sounds good. Had 2 friends over for lunch with babes then another friend called in on spec after they left. DH was home early at 4 as I have loads of work to do but E was upset and wanted me so it hasn;t quite worked as planend. Then I lost a recipe I need for the wedding cakes (mum can supply it I;m sure) but I snapped at DH and he got the hump so we had a silent tea and he has walked to buy the washing up liquid. I need to do a couple of hours work, order tesco shoppoing, sort washing out, wind down a bit....not enough hours left!

This w/e E is staying with PILS for first time on her own. Am sure she will be fine but am nervous cos its not happened before and she's my little baby. Think its just cos I have no control over it, I have no control over what happens at my parents but cos she stays there every week its normal for her IYKIM.

I never read any other threads - has Susie moved out for a bit then?

RGee - glad the new windows are good. When are your hols, are they the week of my due date 26 June?

SmoothandWilkie · 29/05/2008 20:19

Vino - trunking is when you hide small elephants all over your house...

YOU MUST SLOW DOWN YOUNG LADY - don't make me come over there...!!

vinorouge · 29/05/2008 20:35

Dh seems to be sorting the washing out. I shoudl appreciate it but he won't do it just right.

wonderwomanakaeandh · 29/05/2008 20:53

Vino - when are you going to slow down woman - you have a toddler and pg I know what you mean re dh doing washing up

Trunking is like ummm plastic/wooden cases that you feed the wires through and since I have wooden laminate flooring I have the same colour trunking and then it fits on the floor next to skirting board, looks a bit like the beading they use to finish flooring off, hope that makes sense.

Rgee - D.Mill is fab I love ours its huge (plus has nice cafe ) I get loads of storage bits form tehre plus I think the majority of our curtains are from tehre as are 90% of the blinds.

Reggiee · 29/05/2008 20:54

Hiya Vino. Am back in the office the week of your due date, so will be waiting your call. Don't come early! A mere 5 mins walk from my office to the maternity ward, and I don't even need to step outside .
Relax and enjoy your incorrectly folded clothes btw.

katwith3kittens · 30/05/2008 15:23

Still here... but nothing much to say really.

Had a lovely week off for half term, beautiful weather and great food but bloody hard work ! Got back today and forgot electricity was going to be switched off all day whilst a new house was connected to the grid. Couldnt even make a cuppa and the house alarm was ringing for half an hour before it stopped.... then a neighbours went off AAAAAGGGGhhhh !

Diesel is £130.9 at the local garage WTF !!!

so I dont use it and go to Tescos where its £127.9, which is a shame really as its another small local business that'll probably go bust. I spent £103 there a couple of weeks ago just on fuel and nearly fainted.

Very clingy LO at the moment. All his teeth are bulging through the gums and he had bright red cheeks this morning which I wasnt sure if they were sunburnt or not yes in fact he looked just like that !

I cant believe your holiday has come round so quickly Regee... count me in.. sounds like diesel is a bit cheaper further north !

Hope everyone else is OK... not really had much time to catch up.

Shimmer · 30/05/2008 23:06

Just a quick one to ask what buggies you are all using at the moment? I have a Maclaren Techno which has been good but is kind of falling to bits and also Freddie slumps when he's in it. I have just been reading another htread on here from a few people who have the same problem - the maclarens all don't sit very upright, so LOs tend to slump down in then and then have to strain their necks. Sooo.... if i was to slash out on another buggy what would y'all say would be a good one at this stage? HAS to be light so I can get it on & off buses etc.

(Freddie had his first PROPER big toddler tantrum today. He's had mini ones beofre, but this was proper screaming, kicking, hair-pulling anger. Oh God.)

Shimmer · 30/05/2008 23:08

obviously I meant SPLASH out, rather than SLASH out. I don't even know what that would involve....

theAfkaUrbanDryad · 30/05/2008 23:16

Shimmer - we have a Presto Bruin stroller, which is like a Quinny Zapp, but better IMO because it has a shopping basket and it reclines, and we still have our Urban Detour for the car, although i've given the car seat to my friend for her little boy!

my friend had a Maclaren Techno and she said it was very flimsy and a bit shite (she has a Presto one like me now!!!)

Z had a proper tantrum yesterday - i have no idea what it was about, although he did sleep for 2.5 hours afterwards so he was probably tired!!

wonderwomanakaeandh · 01/06/2008 09:01

Morning ...not alot else to say except morning

looshkin · 01/06/2008 15:58

Afternoon all

Well our holiday lasted all of 4 hours - have been working up to this for weeks making sure work all tied up and packed etc (our previous attempts have all been thwarted and lost lots of cash.

All started well met up with 2H (ds2 is so very very cute it is ridiculous and ds1 was very sweet to my ds). Off to cottage in northumbria all lovely chippy tea eaten off to bed. All three of us (me dh and ds) in bathroom sudden scream from ds whose hand is stuck to the towel rail - it was so hot in a matter of seconds his skin was stuck I had to pull it off for him - straight under cold tap and bucks of painkillers later he was still screaming so had to find a local A&E to get him sorted I was so angry I refused to go back to the cottage and drove all the way back home again-3 hours. Dh spoke to the owner this morning so not sure what we will do. DS is more like his old self now but will the most dramatic looking dressing - it looks like some sort of boxing glove.

I just cannot believe how hot the rail was it I could not even keep my hand on for a millisecond. .

Feel very and and just wish we could catch a break.

Anyway spleen has been vented now I will try and catch up with you guys later but feel so aaargh just worried about how this is going to heal, risk of infection etc but luckily it is his non dominant hand.

loosh

PS we have the maclaren sport which so far has been great
