knitter & denny I'm up for meeting up again, Wednesdays are the only days Henry and I can't do, so am open to suggestions!

Sheds75 · 21/05/2008 10:15

wow knitter that is some hair !!!!

Sal22 · 21/05/2008 10:17

Sorry, and a very good morning to all . I think I might have a new way of keeping Roelof happy - he's been lying in his buggy awake for 2 hours now, and as long as I keep moving it, he's not crying. So just kicking it with my foot now. I'm going to have such great legs by the end of this all... (or one of them anyway)

PeachyWontLieToYou · 21/05/2008 11:26

Ds4 doesnt have much hair, the ohers were hirsute to the extreme

Went to baby club yesterday, the other mums were lovely so i'll keep going, but HV and her assistant up to the normal!

DS was weighed there, gained 4oz again- for a Peachy thats good. Got the lecture about is he feeding again .

As I sat feeding him, I was ignored but every Mum who got out her bottle feeding paraphernalia was greeted with cries of 'oooh what a lovely flask' etc etc.

Now I have no issues with FFums, but I've worked hard to BF him, surely some credit is due?

Then Assistant and HV recommended that the 6 month weaning was rubbish and they should all start at 17 months , and sat describing to us all how at weekends they sit in the local cafe watching the 'gay boy's go past!

By which they mean apparently men with a decent haircut etc.

Honestly, was like a trip to the set of L:ife On Mars!

PeachyWontLieToYou · 21/05/2008 11:27

17 weeeks obv

17 months a different isue entirely

KnitterInTheNW · 21/05/2008 11:50

lol @ weaning at 17 months! That'd be some milk supply we'd need to keep them going that long on its own huh!

VictorianSqualor · 21/05/2008 12:09

Did you say anything about the weaning Peachy?
I'd be inclined to inform them that babies are not physically ready until between 17-26weeks so feeding them anywhere before 26weeks is guess work and could possibly fuck them up big time.
I wish we had such bad health visitors just so I could set them straight, but at baby clinic last week the HV's were telling someone the best way to deal with a hungry baby or one not putting much weight on was more breast offerings. How could I moan at that?

WRT my friend stopping having DD, DP spoke to her this morning and she has agreed to have her until the summer holidays now, apparently she felt like she was being 'used' because I don't stop at the school and talk to her when she is there (she only picks her DD up three times a week). Thing is, I can't hang around after school as I have a bus to catch so I am going to have to talk to her and explain. DP reckons she just wants a friend and that's why she started to have DD.

Well that puts some light on it for you VS, hopefully it can all be sorted now.

LOL 17 months would be an interesting concept

Sheds and knitter do you want to email me on [email protected] to sort out a date. I can do Mondays, if I work round DH shifts potentially could leave Ethan at home for 'daddy time' and just bring Aeryn.

PeachyWontLieToYou · 21/05/2008 12:48

Somebody else kicked off over the weaning

however, the HV is considering applying for a BFI breastfeeding post, and if she does I am going to e-mail a contact at UNICEF BF dept to warn them.

VictorianSqualor · 21/05/2008 12:52

ooops, just spoke to a friend of mine, apparently I asked him to be Alex's Godfather whilst drunk the other night.......have absolutely no idea why, it certainly wasn't a plan

PeachyWontLieToYou · 21/05/2008 13:08

lol vs

my friend for got we asked her! (her dad died same week, she's forgiven) so got all excited again when i reminded her.

scorpio1 · 21/05/2008 14:39

We havent god parents for any of our children, they are not christened.

Millie weighs 9lb 9oz - 12.5 oz in 14 days

i went to baby club the other week - about 15 mums - just me and one other BF-ing.

Sal22 · 21/05/2008 14:52

Quick poll: We've got 3 hours to ourselves tonight. What should we do??? When I booked the babysitter, I was thinking restaurant, but now I don't really know if I fancy that anymore. It needs to be something nice as we probably won't do it often. Soooo - best use of 3 hours on our own - what would you do? (ignoring the very obvious locking the door and just sleeping, which is the most tempting idea at the moment )

At moment thinking either
a) Restuarant (but fearing I might not know how to eat with 2 hands anymore...)
b) Movie
c) Wine tasting & Movie (saw that's on tonight)
d) Secretly napping in the bedroom

scorpio1 · 21/05/2008 14:53

i would go bowling and have something to eat there....our bowling place has a lovely inhouse steak restaurant bit.

Sal22 · 21/05/2008 15:28

Sounds good, and there's one not too far from us! There's a steakhouse place near it I think - I fancy spare ribs now... I don't think DH likes bowling (I do but haven't been in years), but I think that was something to do with office trips and compeditive streaks or something - so as I'm rubbish it will be LOADS of fun, hehe.

Denny185 · 21/05/2008 16:07

Meal and a walk (prob walk first otherwise might do a mischief in the dark)

Sal22 · 21/05/2008 16:14

lol @ denny

Sheds75 · 21/05/2008 16:25

I'd go for a nice meal, it is always good to lookforward to eating hot food

Sheds75 · 21/05/2008 16:29

Mum2BabyRoo · 21/05/2008 19:19

Happy Birthday Denny!

Knitter - hee hee - that's some hair your LO has!! Very cute!!

Wine tasting and movie would get my vote - but then after the wine I would probably fall asleep in the movie... so maybe just the restaurant then!
