Cope well? Cope at all, even?

Now, that reminds me - where's that meetup thread gone?

Sal22 · 20/05/2008 15:06

lol scampmum!

moominsmummy · 20/05/2008 16:00

things easier here today - ds1 woke at 5.20am but at least i had time to get breakfast in bed for both of us to enjoy before ds2 woke up. was able to feed ds2 whilst ds1 watched cartoons sat in our bed. then ds2 slept whilst i got ds1 dressed and did the nursery run. was really chuffed it worked out but not sure i want everyday to start at 5.20 to achieve it!

need som e hep on another problem - my nursing bra doesn't fit properly now - i need a size 30K - but neither figleaves, bravissimo nor NCT sales do them in that size. any suggestions??? please help - i don't want saggy boobs for necxt year

scorpio1 · 20/05/2008 16:13

bra

Sal22 · 20/05/2008 16:26

moominsmummy - the bottle arrived today, thank you so much! Roelof's not very impressed for a start (because the teat is so different to other bottles), but I'm sure he'll get used to it soon. I can see how he won't get lazy on the breast while using this and there's no swallowing wind, so fingers crossed we've got a convert soon. He had about 50 mls though, so not all bad for a start.

on the bra - i saw that you could order one on here. hope it helps.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Nightmare.

The friend of ours that normally has DD from 8am and drops her at school with her DD has informed DD today that after half-term she can no longer have her.

I'm so annoyed. Yes, she was doing us a favour, which was really nice of her, but it was her suggestion that I cancelled the childminder and started sending her there instead, now I have no flipping childminder and am going to have to do the school run (the nightmare four bus journey) in the morning as well, in other words I shall have to leave the house at 8am every morning, get on the bus which goes into Oxford, therefore FULL at 8am, with DS1&2&DD, get another bus from town at 8:30am (again FULL, and it's a poxy little bus with no real room for the buggy except when it's empty), drop DD at school, get the bus back to town, then back home, getting back at 10am.

Why offer (on more than one occasion) to help someone out if you're then going to cancel?

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 20/05/2008 16:36

Shit, what a nightmare.

Can you re-get childminder? I have lost ,y after school care on a tuesday for ds1 today too; something in the air today, must be

Is your dp at work or something then? Can PIL help?

Denny185 · 20/05/2008 16:36

Well i go off for a day and loads of you are back, wow to those jugs moomins that must be hard work carrying those around.

Sorry VS as far as i know all forces have changed/are changing, the uniform was piloted in wales so we can blame the welsh (sorry) for taking away our fun.

Sorry for everyone who is having a tough time hope things pick up soon.

Weve been to gym tots and toddler group today so looking forward to a peaceful one tomorrow.

VictorianSqualor · 20/05/2008 16:45

PiL live in the city, half an hour away from us in no traffic, more like an hour away in rush hour, DP is going to try and arrange to go into work later so he can drop her off and we're going to try and move house ASAP.

We wanted to go back to the estate her school is on anyway but FGS, a WEEK's notice??

Denny, DP has spoken to his pals online and they have just had their uniform fitting, shirt and tie, so hopefully I'll get at least a little bit of time with the proper uniform!

scorpio1 · 20/05/2008 16:47

@ uniform

you will have to show me us a pic

Sheds75 · 20/05/2008 19:03

sorry just need to scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a day! I think Henry even broke my mum . she came over to visit for the day and Henry had a stinker, up at 5am and not slept at all, really back tummy with his colic. Sorry to just come back and moan

off to have a large G&T and see how DP is getting on putting the little man to bed.

Knitter know what you mean about going out with out them, feels strange the first few times.

Sal22 · 20/05/2008 20:06

What a day indeed, sheds. Hope he's fast asleep by now with you not far behind!

I'm probably such a horrible mom, but I really really just need a short break, so I've booked a baby sitter for 3 hours tomorrow night. I've known her for 2 years and she's spent a lot of time with Roelof, so I know she'll be fine with him and him with her. But I really just needed a break with DH, need to be able to eat hot food with both hands... (can you guess I feel guilty?!). Anyway, really looking forward to it!

Denny185 · 20/05/2008 20:12

VS - is school a really long way or just difficult to get to, could you get a taxi in one direction till u can get another child minder sorted. Pants to be let down like that, not really v fair to offer and then withdraw with such short notice.
to your DH getting the shirt and tie its so much nicer.

Sheds is Henry any happier in a warm bath? or in sling? Has your HV given you any advice/help, colicy babies are really difficult to cope with emotionally glad DH helping when he's there. Did you try colief? Make sure that G&T is more G than T.

Welcome back knitter, the first time i went out without Aeryn somone asked me when my baby was due. Dont know if its just a third time thing or maybe Im just heartless but i love going out without the DC and dont worry if DH coping or not - although generally go out when they are in bed or ready for bed though.

Mum2BabyRoo · 20/05/2008 21:37

Hey all - thanks for all your kind messages. I am feeling a little better about my decision - especially as I have had so much support either way. I am taking Gabriella to see a cranio-sacral therapist on the advise of my BF consultant. Gabriella was stuck in the birth canal and it hurt her head - there is still a nasty scab on her head and whenever we need to put a little wolly hat on her, she really fusses and cries. So Rach (the BF consultant) thinks some therapy might help - and who knows, it might even help her latch as well.

Molly/Sal - I have that book bumper for Gabriella and she loves it! The snail is her new best friend! I got mine from my local baby store. I am trying various different ways to stimulate in her very few awake hours - and thats one of them. She also has a baby gym - a winnie the pooh one - she is fixated in piglet! And music - she seems to enjoy it - she lays there quite content - so I am presuming she likes listening! It is stuff I listened to when she was in the womb.

Sagitta - poor you. I hope you are feeling better now. I have heard it is much worse having appendicitice when you are an adult.

Denny - just had a look at your pics - your DC are so cute!!

VS - I really feel for you! What a horrible journey to make every day, twice a day. I really hope you manage to sort it out somehow.

Sheds75 · 21/05/2008 08:13

Denny love the pics of your tribe!

HV has been great but we have now tried everything (including warm baths). He just has his good days and bad days, yesterday just happend to be really bad.

DP is great though and as soon as he gets home from work he takes over.

Have bumps to babes this afternoon so hopefully Henry will be on his best behaviour.

THE G&T was deffinately more G!!!!

Denny185 · 21/05/2008 08:43

Morning all, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me .......... Ive had such a lovely day so far, almost as good as .............yesterday. How come birthdays pale in insignificance whe your a mummy?

Thanks for compliments on the tribe, they arn't a bad bunch.

Fingers crossed for a good day for you today sheds. Hope the G&T helped last night.

M2BR glad your feeling better, youll have to let us know how the cranio-sacral therapy goes.

Yes to meeting up again Denny, I was just thinking about suggesting that while I was getting dressed! Mondays or Tuesdays are best for me, but can miss something on one of the other days if no good to you two.
