OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LadyBee · 31/05/2008 11:32

oof - finding it difficult to actually get time to write posts, but have been reading to keep up to date.
Scampmum - think you're better off with inlaws out of your hair. IMO the only point in having extra people in the house at this stage is if they are going to happily take on ALL the work that will distract you from looking after yourself & LO.

I got OH to give Ben a bottle of EBM last night, made him do all the sterilising, thawing, heating, temp checking etc. Was good but hard not to stand over..had to intervene when he didn't ask how much to do - I freeze in 2 oz lots and KNEW he'd just pick up one without thinking/asking how much B would need.
LO took bottle fine, so I'm off out today on first drive since c-section and planning to try to find a few more tops I can BF in.

and that's it, LO needs feeding..time's up...

scorpio1 · 31/05/2008 18:28

ffs

dss has been a shite all week. he goes home and his mother has bought him a wii. even though she knows he has been a shite. and told/half asked us that she owes LOTS on her council tax bill. like 2k. he is already a spoilt brat, seriously. he has computers etc instead of time and as bribery because he wont behave for her otherwise.

great parenting, you tit. i'm not doing this again.

scorpio1 · 31/05/2008 18:30

and obviously she is sooooooooooo poor like she makes out to us, asking for stuff alot. when we give her money every week, more than csa guidelines.

god i am a sad cow for even caring!

Mollyfloss · 01/06/2008 08:34

Hello Ladies!

I haven't managed to post but have been lurking the whole time. It's easy to read my computer while BFing but not so easy to type! But VS reminded me that it's good to post once in a while

Scorpio: Hope everything has calmed down now that Zac has gone back.
PFJ: You've been through a lot. Hope everything gets better with your DS soon.

My SIL and niece and nephew are visiting at the moment. It's a mad house but we're having fun and they are besotted with their new little cousin

DD is doing well. Putting on weight. She is 6 and a half weeks now. I think she has gone through her growth spurt. Is it normal that she can now guzzle down a feed in about 10 mins? It used to take her so much longer before. I've expressed afterwards to see how much she left in the boob and it's pretty much empty so I assume she's getting enough. I also offer her the other one which sometimes she takes and sometimes she doesn't. Now when she doesn't want anymore and I try to shove it in her mouth she kicks up a right fuss. Before she would just keep her mouth shut and stare at it. Is this just part of her getting older and knowing what she does and doesn't want?

I left DH at home last night wile I went out on a girls night out and he got on very well.I was so tempted to ring all night but decided it was best to let him get on with it. Glad I did.

The good news is that I am a size 10. Yay! I went from an all time high of 72kilos just before giving birth to 59 now. I still need to get down to about 53 (how do I do that by the way?) but I should fit into the bridemaid dress!!! Well most of me should anyway, just not sure about the boobs. I'm a 34E now. Would those fit into a size 10?

Denny185 · 01/06/2008 10:11

Might be a squeeze but you'll make a fantastic buxom wench your DH will love it

scorpio1 · 01/06/2008 10:32

Sorry about that.

Good on the dress Molly!

Denny185 · 01/06/2008 12:03

Scorpio dont appologise its good to have a good rant and get it out, plus its quite justified if she can afford to buy a wii why cant she pay the council tax.

Mum2BabyRoo · 01/06/2008 15:54

Yes agree- rant on here rather! It's good to get it out. Zac's mohter would drive me mad too - especially having to deal with the result of her bad parenting nevermind the way she deals with her finances!

Well done Molly for getting back to a size 10! I weigh the same amount as you and need to get to 53 too to be happy! But unlike you I am size 10 on top and size 14 below - how does that work? Still have a tummy bulge from pregnancy that hasn't shifted yet - so hoping once that's gone I will be size 10 below too! Now to figure out how to get rid of the last 6 kg!

scorpio1 · 01/06/2008 19:13

I'm back in an 8 in most of my clothes, but a different shape than before still!

had a lovely day in the park and having a picnic today, then had a BBQ. have hardly been indoors all day!

Denny185 · 01/06/2008 19:49

Weve had rain for lots of today so stuck in today

DD has had headache/ dizzyness/ sore throat today, would normally tell her to get on with it or go back to bed but she also has this swelling over the bridge of her nose and into her eye sockets, almost looks like shes broken her nose, the eyes are kind of half closed. Any ideas? Do you think its just sinusitis?

Mollyfloss · 01/06/2008 21:21

Denny, I have no idea but if it doesn't go down soon might be worth a trip to the Doctor's.

Mum2b & Scorpio: I know what you mean about the shape. My hips are still a weird shape and bossom obviously but it still seems like I have water retention in my knuckles (rings don't fit comfortably yet). I guess BFing, eating healthily & drinking lot's of water is all we can do Don't think I'd find the time or motivation to exercise...

scorpio1 · 01/06/2008 22:14

i have to try to eat a bit better. my main diet is fab but its the snacks.... any good ideas apart from fruit? i like fruit but just gets same old all the time.

VS have emailed you.

Mollyfloss · 02/06/2008 06:58

cereal bars, carrott sticks, celery & cucumber with hummus, rice cakes or ryvita with spread maybe tarama, yoghurts, low fat desserts from m&s

chipmonkey · 02/06/2008 07:14

I have lost loads of weight but I still look pg! Does anyone know how long after a CS you can do tummy crunches?

scorpio1 · 02/06/2008 09:43

i dont know chipmonkey

was on the way to school this morning and Millie was sick everywhere, like projectile. had to do a u-turn and get her completley changed - then jamie decides to wet himself so much fun here! Millie is really snotty again. have had enough of today already.

DH is being really clingy - keeps going on about am i going to cheat oh yeah of course i am i really have the time for it, even if i wanted to which i really dont at all! i told him so and also to give me a bit of space at the end of the day; even an hour, i dont need another person needing me, especially physically as i bf alot in the evenings and just want some time alone!

chipmonkey · 02/06/2008 12:22

He thinks you are going to cheat? Oh ffs tell him I said he's an arse!

scorpio1 · 02/06/2008 12:24

i did! men, eh!!

although of course lots of men do fancy me

elfsmummy · 02/06/2008 15:25

Afternoon all

Scorpio - I'm the same with DH - I find myself getting annoyed with him because he comes home for lunch! DD1 is always in bed over that time and I just want that 1.5 hours to chill out and watch TV or mumsnet. Instead he comes home - makes a mess making his lunch and sits on the internet so I can't get on! I feel like telling him to eat his lunch at work and use the computer there! But know that is a little unreasonable!

Elena had her weight and length check today prior to her 6 week check with the GP on wed. She's now 11 lb 15.5 oz! Can't believe how much she's piling it on - DD1 was 18 weeks before she weighed that much!

Looks like she'll be tall too - on the 98th centile

We were in Ireland for the weekend for my Aunt's 50th birthday. Elena survived her first few flights by sleeping door to door - bliss!

Have a good afternoon all

Mollyfloss · 02/06/2008 16:12

How long is a 'normal' bf feed for a 7 week old who feeds about 7 times a day?

elfsmummy · 02/06/2008 16:37

Elena feeds for about 10 minutes. Slightly longer on the first side than the second.

But she really guzzles then needs winding for about 5-10 minutes afterwards otherwise she's really uncomfortable.

That will satisfy her for 3-4 hours during the day and 5-6 overnight.

I think she's pretty efficent as from memory DD1 took longer at this age??

scorpio1 · 02/06/2008 16:41

Millie takes about 15 mins, she is 6 weeks.

scorpio1 · 02/06/2008 16:41

thougat 8pm she feeds for about an hour, but then sleeps 9-5

PeachyWontLieToYou · 02/06/2008 16:47

well like molly i too have lost weight.

ah yes, the benefts of viral gastroenteritis......

ah well!

Quite pleased to be bf as Bas seems to have pretty much gotten away with it, i'm starting to recover now and dh has it, the kids got it very mildly.

Bas has weigh in tomorrow

oh and yes here- am well proud lol

PeachyWontLieToYou · 02/06/2008 16:48

Bas feeds for about 10 minutes now, although he does like tro comfort suck as well

scorpio1 · 02/06/2008 16:49
