Panda, there are people who pay good money for lips like that . lol at taking a photo though .

The eyelashes were a success, although I did learn that it's best not to try and trim them once they're on as it's highly likely you'll cut your own eyelashes off . The whole night was brilliant, lots of celebs as the birthday boy has a lot of friends in the industry. The best one was spotting Chris Martin, although he kept it very low key and didn't stay long. I had my necklace admired by Laurence Lewellen-Bowen (sp?) and we had a chat at the bar whilst waiting for drinks. Brendan Cole(s?) from Strictly Come Dancing was also there and needless to say he was strutting his stuff on the dance floor with his (very thin) attractive blonde companion. My feet hurt a lot today as I didn't sit down once, which is very rare if I'm in heels. I'm also very hungover so cbeebies is doing the child care this morning!

ChaCha · 11/05/2008 09:23

Good morning ladies

We have definitely had a taste of summer here (or summer itself as may be the case) even DH took a couple of days off so that we could all enjoy the sun and it's been lovely. Paddling pool wasn't in a fit state to come out this year so off i went in search of a new one and found one in Woolworths for £2.50!!! The best £2.50 i've probably ever spent as the boys spent at least 5 hours in the garden with the paddling pool being centre attraction. Very pleased with budget buy
We went down to Wales yesterday, spent evening with friends, had good rest in hotel and then went to the seaside in the morning with picnic stuff - another good day spent. DH back at work tomorrow so will hopefully be a quiet week in the garden and rest for me when i need it - the whole week looks different knowing that help is at hand

BB - Everything happening all at once, poor you! Hope your dad is alright and nothing too serious, that T makes a speedy recovery and that you are managing to juggle it all as you must have your hands full. Hope that you have a good rest soon and glad to hear DH is able to help with flexible work. Let us know how you are doing!

FH - Good to see you post again. You are right about beach heaven, we went to one beach that was completely secluded (except for the Turkish family running a small tea house and the odd local walking by) and it was just beautiful. St.Nicholas island was directly in front and the lady running the tea house said her brother could take us over but we never went back (hopefully next time) having found another beautiful spot through the mountains. I should stop here really or will spend the morning giving you an account of our week there! Really would love to go back!

Nova - Good luck with BIL's house! And hopefully you have had a good night, now resting.

Panda - What's happened?! Hope you're okay.

BTKS - Hello!

x

ChaCha · 11/05/2008 09:25

X posts Nova - sounds great - have no idea who mentioned celebs are but glad you had a good night x

mypandasgotcrabs · 11/05/2008 16:06

Well my lip is finally going down. It continued to grow last night, looked like something out of the elephant man! Even went up to MIU this morning. Seems to have been an allergic reaction, is slowly going down with lots of piriton, once they said that I remembered I suffered quite badly last summer with my nose swelling massively. Looks like this is what I have to look forward to now then for the rest of the summer!

ChaCha, you sound a lot more upbeat than you have done recently, again well done on getting the home help. And sounds like you had a great time the last few days, must be good to have DH able to take a bit of time off to spemd with you all.

Nova, party sounds great, lucky you! Hope you haven't cut your eyelashes too badly!

I'm going to put a few pics on yahoo. ANyone else looking forward to gladiators tonight?

novadandypowder · 11/05/2008 19:22

Panda, I can't believe those photos of your lip . Can you text me your number, I've just tried to find it on Yahoo but can't see it there? Thanks

novadandypowder · 12/05/2008 20:46

Me again, not much to say except that I should be doing so much other stuff instead of being sat on here!

Hot weather is wiping the kids out, so lots of napping and no bother at bedtimes - woo hoo.

Oh and Rodeo, I still keep laughing, when you said you'd got J a new capsule wardrobe, I thought for a moment it was a funky new style of furniture, then realised you meant clothes

ChaCha · 12/05/2008 22:04

Hi Nova,

Same with ours. Came down from nap this afternoon to find DS2 asleep under the parasol on playmat. Asked B (home help) what happened and she said he just climbed out of paddling pool and made way to shade for a sleep lol. What makes me laugh more is when he is really moaning and grumping and i'm the middle of something and shout 'okay, be there in a minute' and by the time i get there he has fallen asleep on floor/sofa/toybox etc..
Am wondering whether it is the heat or another phase with DS1 who is refusing to wear his nappy. 'No like it me' and 'take it off/away nappy' is this week's 'thing'. I've had him in pants while out in the garden or just his swimming shorts but usually find them off too...hmmm. Am also amazed (perhaps as he is first child and all new to me) at how much he is picking up. Our mouths often hang open when he says something simple like 'look man carrying box' or 'Y sleeping mummy, tired' or when i was crying the other night (out of sheer exhaustion) and he cuddled me and said 'happy mummy no cry'..how do they pick it up so fast?!?

Well, i'm growing bigger and feeling like i can't breathe at moment, had my first awful leg cramp on waking this morning and a few people i've seen this weekend say i'm carrying very high up - so does it really mean a girl ladies? All my money is on another boy as you know but it's all up top it seems - any experience?

I second you Nova on bedtime, was talking to DS1 and next thing he was snoring followed by DS2, DH had showered them down using hosepipe and a very bubbly paddling pool. They were all clean and snug and in PJs ready for bed....bedtime can be lovely

BB - Any news on dad? Panda - Your mouth?

Hope you're all well xx

BrownieBells · 12/05/2008 22:18

Hi ladies - no news yet on Dad - he is going in on Thursday for bronchoscopy (sp?) so may know more then.
T god love him, is covered in the spots - I went to Docs today for blood test to check for immunity, and every time I itch I look to check for blisters (have an insect bite on my arm, and keep looking at it to check for blistering!?) I mentioned to the Nurse Practioner that I saw about one of Ts dodgy looking spots (having heard some of you guys talking about infectiones etc) an she asked me to whip him in to see her (Dad was minding him at mine) which we did, she saw him - and yes his spots are infected too - so we have the dreaded pink antibioticals - he took the first dose no probs - and I was thinking to myself how good he was (having heard tell of the stories of how hard it was to get it down their necks) and then as if reading my mind, he came into the kitchen and said "I don't like that pink one.....it's nasty!"

Right, having been up since 5am this morning - I am now off to bed - so hope you are all well (not a good time to be covered in the pox is it - what with this being our summer hey!?) bless 'em - hope your T is also on the mend Beks.

Haven't checked the photos on yahoo yet, nor have I uploaded any recent ones - really must get onto that soon - will add that to the ever increasing list (have got loads of Brownie stuff to do - normal stuff and stuff for camp - gosh it never ends).

Hope all are ok - sorry for another me post -

Love B
x

mypandasgotcrabs · 12/05/2008 22:36

Evening everyone!

Hope the camera op gets some good results for your dad Brownie, and can get him on medication he needs etc. Oh no, poor T, at least you picked up on it straight away, and like I said to Beks the other day it hasn't had a chance to fester like S's did.

Nova, I think you should be very glad your 2 missed out this time, seems to be a really nasty strain of it going around this time. (at least Brownies T's can't be blamed on me tho lol)

ChaCha, I'm still amazed at what the LOs pick up on. S seems to have made sudden leaps, possibly becasuse of being at nursery now, but yes, truly amazing at their ability to pick things up without you realising. Oh, and with both mine everyone said I was carrying girls because of how I carried them, no-one at all thought they would be boys (except me of course ). I wouldn't have said I carried them high, but they certainly weren't low iygwim?

I'm getting really excited. Brighton again tomorrow maybe I should saty away from that place after the debacle last time! My friend and I are going to see Girls Aloud, we have t-shirts made up this time. They're both black, hers with pink writing, mine with yellow. Hers says "I can't speak French" (front) and "so I let the funky music do the talking" (back), mine is "I want you" (front), "Get in the queue" (back)!!! (from 'the show') I've gone for the impact lol! We've got really good seats this time, and Brighton Centre is such a small venue that we'll be really close to stage. Can't wait!

Rodeo · 13/05/2008 11:39

Morning
So much chat to catch up on (how I like it ) Weeks seem to be flying by, especially with this lovely weather, been spending lots time up at the stables, and in the garden with the various paddling pools! Had a nice birthday, thanks for all the wishes feels nice to be 30! (I agree Nova, 30s are the new 20s )
Panda, how is your lip? Are there photos on Yahoo? Will check after post! What is it a reaction too? My mum's lips swell up if she eats avocado, which me and dsis think is hilarious, her going round like Lesley Ash! Have a fab time tomorrow with GA! V.!!
Brownie, poor spotty T, sorry to hear you've got the vile pink stuff too. Fingers crossed you avoid CP Best wishs for your dad this Thursday.
Nova, was sorry to see you go from Britain's Next Top Model last night (it was you masquerading as Lauren wasn't it?! ) LOVING all the celeb spotting talk - esp LLB! Sounds like a great night, if you ever need company next time...
Chacha, I think you'll have a girl Did you not find out at scan? Seem to remember you asking but baby wasn't co-operative?! Is that right? Glad your getting a bit of home help, must be lovely Love the budget buy! We have a little shop down the road, which is bargain central! Bought B&J a metal water bottle (bit like the Sigg ones) for 1.20 each!! I'd die if it closed down
L&S, hope you are well after your op, make sure you've got those feet up!
Hello Beks & Feety, hope you are well and enjoying the weather
Right off to tidy up, Jess at playgroup til 12.30 and I've promised myself a smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel if I get the housework done! Speak later, I won't leave it so long next time x x x

mypandasgotcrabs · 14/05/2008 09:35

OMG! They were amazing! That was their best yet (and that was the 5th time I've seen them). Cheryl is tiny, bless her, but she was great, she was smiling & really enjoying herself on stage. That's what I really love about seeing them live is that they all seem to genuinely enjoy it & appreciate the crowd. And Nadine was crying on stage during the slow songs. I wanna go again tonight!!!

OP posts:
novadandypowder · 14/05/2008 14:14

I'd really love to see them Panda, I'm glad you had a fab time. I think they all look so tiny in magazines I bet they're really thin in the flesh.

I've discovered a new buggy that's designed by the people who make Phil & Teds. You can only get them in New Zealand but they ship to the UK for free, Have a look. The double with a toddler seat might be good for Chacha . I feel quite excited that it's actually the Phil from Phil & Teds that's been emailing me about ordering . I don't know why they make buggies that last until a child is 4 - like I can keep one for that long!!

Miniman has said his first proper word which is bubbles. Although now he knows it, he keeps asking for the bubble machine to be put on.

ChaCha · 14/05/2008 14:47

OMG - Nova this is so weird! I came on here to post you a message about Phil and Teds Came to ask your advice and if you have buggy board on yours as would like to get rid of my powertwin and get another one.....that is weird...going to look at link.....thx

[shuffles away to Omen music]

ChaCha · 14/05/2008 14:49

Oh and Nova, DS2's is OWL, he says it oooowwww-ill, like that because DS2 is obsessed with dragons and owls at the moment and likes to be frightened by thought of them in bedroom Obviously DS2 has picked this up and thinks its great - everything is an owl!

LOL at bubbles!

ChaCha · 14/05/2008 14:53

Oh no! Guess what i'm going to be looking at for the next God knows how long........

Thanks Nova...must start complaining really badly about power twin...

Rodeo · 14/05/2008 18:46

Evening
Glad you had a fab time Panda! And glad Cheryl did too Am in shock over your lip, so glad it's gone down!
Woah, that is some buggy Nova! Saw a lovely reclining Zapp-ish buggy at school today, could have done with that a few years ago. Won't be needing another though - ever.
Right, better get those those children in the bath x

novadandypowder · 14/05/2008 19:27

Rodeo, just get one anyway and make J get in it! I can't get noo out of the ruddy thing, it's buggy or carry or 'lay down on the floor refusing to move'. As she's too big to carry I am left to indulge myself with the perfect buggy for two. I found the ABC by accident, I was looking at montain buggies as we have one at the beach house, and whichever one isn't in the main seat can sit on the hood. I guess it's not that comfy but it beats carrying. The ABC is just a way of sitting them on the hood properly, that way they both get a good view of the world and miniman can't kick noo in the back as he does in the Phil & Teds. He also likes to run his fingers inbetween the wheel guard and the tyre, something he can't do in the ABC.

Chacha, let me know how you go on persuading DH that it's the only buggy that will do. They have a 3 weeks turnaround on the one I'm getting, think they might make to order. I have a Phil & Teds at the beach house that has barely been used, maybe once or twice, and I don't mind passing it on to you? It's black, and has the reclining double seat, but I don't think you can put buggy boards on them though

ChaCha · 14/05/2008 21:39

Hi Rodeo and Nova, sorry Panda for missing your post earlier, had some free time and suddenly realised that i'm nearing 30weeks and haven't done a thing! Glad you had a good time.

I thought about a Phil and Ted Nova when i saw a mum with one (a red one) down at the seaside on Saturday. She was lifting newborn from car into it followed by toddler - seems a nicer shape and easier to handle than my Power Twin. I don't know much about them, there seem to be a few different kinds. The one i looked at earlier is fantastic in theory but on thinking about it DS1 wouldn't sit really, he is so used to walking now and will only be seated if cajoled by an ice cream or treat of some sort. The buggy board would be back up for when he gets tired but in all honesty don't see myself doing the long walks this time round with the three of them [gulp]

What is your P&T like that you have now? And what is the one like that you have at your beach house? If you are thinking of selling it and I can sell my Power Twin (shouldn't be hard) it would be nice to buy from someone i know, in particular, a P&T expert! Pls fill me in on all the reasons why you like it etc.. Thanks x

There are lots of ants coming in from garden, it's really driving me crazy. Am actually looking fwd to tomorrow's predicted rain. The boys are in and out all day and they keep dropping their snacks and crumbs all over the place.... i hate ants!!!!
Well, i have managed to get most of upstairs organised today, more labelling of boxes, putting things away and yet another bag of clothes bagged up, the boys have grown out of another bag again!

Must go, DH is trying to get them both out of bath....lol x

novadandypowder · 15/05/2008 12:09

Right, lets get onto my favourite subject - buggies!

Phil & Teds Sport
Pros
Can be either single or double buggy.
Newborn can lay flat in a cradle that swings whilst an older child can sit above them.
The sport has a reclining double seat so baby can move into it before being able to sit.
Can be pushed with one hand.
Is only the width and length of a single buggy so is much easier to get through doors etc.
It's quite easy to fold and put into a car (although my DH still claims he can't do it)
The handle height is adjustable
You can get many many accessories for them , but make sure if you do, you import them from winkalotts, they're sooooo much cheaper.

Cons
It's quite tricky to get access to the shopping basket in double mode, but not impossible.
Baby can get a bit fed up laying flat, but there are two ways around this - 1: do the zips up on the main seat, but not the clips (this will make more sense if you look at one), this way baby is still flat, but up at an angle. 2: I moved miniman into the double seat at about 4 months and just propped him up with a blanket to stop him slipping sideways.
DH says he finds it a bit tricky to push with the double seat in toddler mode as it sticks out at calf level. I never seem to have a problem
The brakes can be a bit annoying, they're ok to put on but I seem to have problems getting them off again.

Gotta go, had new carpets fitted and need to hoover. If I think of anything else I'll let you know

ChaCha · 15/05/2008 16:17

Thanks Nova, will be having a good look online tonight and possibly a trip to pram shop for closer inspection. For the now, if i got one it means i could just use it as a single buggy for DS2 right and leave DS1 to walk? What is age limit for the other child when using double mode? Hope am making sense here. I am interested in getting one, if you're going to sell yours let me know (on here or by email etc..) and would give me a good chance to get to grips with it before new arrival. And if you feel you need it anyway don't worry, it's good to have you here to ask questions. Thanks.

Having help is a breath of fresh air again today, have put away a week's worth of washing/ironing and tidied upstairs and she has looked after the boys, fed them, changed them, played and now unloading dishwasher.... am now sat with feet up... ahhhh!!! If we had a bigger house would definitely want an au pair!!!

On again later x

feetheart · 16/05/2008 22:52

Evening all! This will be quick as we are off to 'sunny' Suffolk tomorrow for a 10-day festival - check this out

Hope all the poxy children are on the mend (and that the adults are safe!) and that your lip sorted itself out Panda. Have you any idea what caused such a reaction?

Brownie - how did your dad's investigation go? Hope the news is good.

LOL at all the buggy talk, no envy from here at all! Our Jane was officially consigned to the garage 2 weeks ago after over 5 years sterling service. A. now keeps me fit by hairing round on his scooter

Hope everyone has a lovely week, fingers-crossed for good weather please (hopeful emoticon needed )

mypandasgotcrabs · 16/05/2008 23:18

FH, looks great, have a brilliant time. ANd no, haven't a clue what I had a reaction to. I'm allergic to lots of things, some days more than others, so could have been pretty much anything! Needless to say I now have piriton with me at all times!

I am far too wired to sleep. I'm soooooo nervous about tomorrow! I don't get like this, but over a football match, and I've got butterflies, my heart's hammering, can't think straight, can't concentrate on anything!

OP posts:
BTKsmum · 17/05/2008 20:51

Evening all

FH the festival looks great hope you have a fab time.

Panda WHOO HOO GO POMPEY CHAMPIONS!!! Drove down to winchester today for a magic workshop and saw loads of decorated cars and stretch limos heading up to london!!!

Lol too at all the buggy talk, thanks but no thanks, will get my fill from best mates baby that is due any time now.

Although I am in the dog house with her as her daughter has got another dose of chicken pox even though she had it at 2.5 the same as B, she gave it to him that time!!! My friends aunt also caught shingles off T so I'm none to popular in that house at the moment

Had a fab time at the magic workshop today, check out a guy called Joshua Jay he is absolutely fantastic, I was in awe!

Right off to play scrabble, love to all not mentioned Beks

BrownieBells · 18/05/2008 21:44

Hello All! Am v envious of all buggy talk - I cannot justify buying another one tho - not until we perhaps get a bfp that is!?
BTKs - the research I did on chicken pox (was was immense let me say!) indicated that you cannot catch shingles from chicken pox, but you can get CP from shingles - so that is at least 1 outbreak you are not resonsible for!!!!
My T is so much better - and at last we have reached the end of the nasty pink medicine! His scabs are dropping off everywhere - so we are def on the mend now (tantrums are back to normal as is willfulness and general monkeyish-ness!)

No real news on Dad yet - he had the camera into the lungs, so we are just waiting for a scan and then he goes to see the specialist again, so at this stage nothing to report - but thanks for all thoughts - you guys are all so special - thanks!

Still mega busy at work at the mo, and Brownies is going manic too - so am taking a couple of days off this week - need to recharge my batteries - with T at nursery hopefully will feel right as ninepence again afterwards!

Oh yes, and s-sil (who lives in Spain - we went to visit last year) has had a baby boy - Joesph Tyler - T can't quite manage the Tyler bit - it sounds like toilet!?

Right, off to see if I can prise dh away from Coast (yawn) otherwise it will be more internet surfing for me!

Hello to all [wavey wavey]
B
x

Rodeo · 18/05/2008 21:56

Evening
Dp engrossed in Indiana Jones (yawn) so having a bit of internet time
Beks, oh you must be so excited about your bf baby! Does she know what she's having? What names are in the running?
Panda - you must have had a brill time yesterday! Caught the end of it on the TV and tried to look for you!
Feetheart, fest looks fab, have a great time, hope the weather is good to you
Nova, you are a font of knowledge on all things buggies! Think you could give my SIL a run for her money! Thought of you the other day whilst watching A Stable Life - about Caldecott Farm, a stables in London, it's a great programme, you should try to catch it, think it's on in the evenings on Animal Planet How are the lessons going?
Chacha, did you get your rain? We've not had any up our way yet, the ground is like concrete! Can't believe you're 30 weeks already! Where has that time gone?!
Well off to get a beverage before bed & book, speak soon x x x
