This is the shoulder mount

Rodeo · 10/06/2008 14:16

Afternoon!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, will be gone soon!
Nova, just thought 'Ooh what's a shoulder mount? have been riding for 20+ years and haven't heard of that one...' - so hurried off for a look OMG I would end up on my face if I tried that! Did intrigue me into wondering if there were any local lessons though..... Got Diege's email Saturday morning, but was in such a hurry, with birthdays, shopping & horses have not been back online til today... sorry! Yes, fab news anyway, due early Feb, her sickness hasn't arrived yet but she's expecting it kick in soon, hope it's not as bad as it has been with her others (might be a boy this time?!)
Hi Beks, great to hear that holiday has been booked! LOL at bra munching washing machine, our's usually breaks down when a little baby sock manages to work it's way down to the drain and then the stagnant water backs up, and all washing gets very wet and smelly, really must put all little socks and pants in a washbag, but who can be bothered with that?! Not me
Panda, glad the Foo's were great, had about 5 friends on facebook on Saturday who's status was 'can't wait to see the Foo's tonight!'! you being one of them
Hey Chacha, the boys any better yet? Not long til your hols now! Are you packed?! Or is that a daft question? Did you get your hossie bag sorted?

BTKsmum · 10/06/2008 14:17

Oh my god Nova - how supple are you!!! I'm very impressed

Rodeo · 10/06/2008 14:32

Was getting nervous about dodgy connection there so posted while all well...
Where was I?... Brownie, good luck with camp Has Diege's BFP given you any GOFing inspiration?! How did your dad's scan go?
Panda, nice to hear you so happy with the move And that you had good time with your Manc friend, was it the first time you've met?
Jess still dry at playgroup She's so tired when she gets back though she keeps falling asleep in her lunch. Saw something awful yesterday - a 70 yr old man shouting at an even older (90s?) man on a mobility scooter to get out of his way I was sat in the car but was so gobsmacked I don't think I could have said anything anyway. The poor old man pulled over and another old man told him not to worry but I could have cried Anyway enough old man stories... off to look for a fancy dress costume for myself Heroes & Villians is the theme (any ideas anyone?) x x x

mypandasgotcrabs · 10/06/2008 19:51

Oooh! Fancy dress Rodeo, my new fave thong to do when I go out! I did Batgirl last year, was great fun, unfortunately don't have any pics tho . Hmm, I think most of the obvious ones will be done by most people - batgirl, wonderwoman, superwoman etc. I will have a think, and a hunt (my fave shops on ebay are the fancy dress ones), and see what fab things I can come up with.

Will read the rest properly later, just got a little excited at fancy dress

mypandasgotcrabs · 10/06/2008 21:08

right, getting away from fancy dress for a minute

BB, fingers crossed for your Dad on Fri.

Nova, I had it right when I read your post thought it must be pole dancing, then was a little at myslef when I realised that it must be horse riding! But blimey, I watched a few of the other shoulder mount vids & you must be bloody strong t do that! Well done!

Well done Jess. Is she mostly dry at hime too? In typical Sean fashion, he was dry at nursery in nappies for a couple fo weeks, always using the toilet, but as soon as he's gone in pants he's gone through all his changes of clothes.

Yes, it was the 1st time I'd met C properly. Sat was actually the 1st time we'd even spoken, so was very odd to hear his Donny accent!

OP posts:
mypandasgotcrabs · 10/06/2008 22:01

of course a hero could be a soldier?

OP posts:
mypandasgotcrabs · 10/06/2008 22:08

Nothing to do with heroes & villains, but I'm gonna have to do cartoon characters next time I go out...Jane Jetson!

OP posts:
ChaCha · 11/06/2008 21:27

LOL Panda You actually had me looking at fancy dress costumes!!!! I like the fairytale theme - have you seen Nova's pic? I think Nova will have some good ideas for you too. Whatever you dress as Rodeo, hope you have a wonderful time.
for old man on scooter, the world can be a really cruel place and worse yet when we can't actually do anything about it. Every so often i stop listening to the news or reading the papers because a lot of what is goind on in the world (well, the snippet that we actually get to hear/read about) really affects me.
DS2 also falls asleep at lunch if i am not quick enough in getting them up to bed. Is hilarious as he continues to eat while sleeping sometimes.

BTKS - Hurray! Glad to hear things are on the up, congratulations on new members of the BTKS household, who chose the names then? And am so pleased for you going on a much needed holiday too and glad ur machine is up and running.

BB - Good luck with all the Brownie stuff! Hope all ok with dad.

Nova - Am v.impressed!! I thought 'shoulder mount' was term given to mounting a horse i have learned something new! Well done, you will have to start teaching soon.
Have received your package with pram bits, you are v.organised Nova & thank you again. I'll be in touch!!

Few more things to do before the off, we will be leaving in the morning. DS1 very excited and keeps telling everyone about big airport and planes and his Thomas luggage See you when back or when on PC over there. Love to everyone xx

mypandasgotcrabs · 11/06/2008 22:34

Enjoy ChaCha/Hope you're enjoying yourself/hope you have had a good time ( delete as appropriate depending on when you read htis!)

Well so much for my early night! Am waiting for my nephew to be bailed! DOn't even know what's happened until he gets here, all I do know is that conditions of his bail will mean he has to stay here until he appears in court next week. Life's never simple eh!

Evening
Have a great time Chacha! Very seeing as our sun has disappeared!
Thanks again for all the links Panda! Was v. excited about going as a ghostbuster but alas, price tag wasn't in my favour! Am going to get the soldier outfit, a snip at 14.99 If you ever want to borrow it you know where I am! Am now scouring the internet for a bullet belt and dog tags
Off for a run in 20 mins (is that the time?!) so better drag the kids in from the garden and get them in the bath x

novadandypowder · 12/06/2008 22:12

lol at all these fancy dress costumes . I love the ghostbusters one too Rodeo.

Noo is getting quite confident on her scooter now, it's really quite funny to see her realising that if she's on a slight gradient she can put both feet on and glide down. I've actually ordered a sprite micro scooter for myself so that I can ride along too! I was inspired by seeing a local mum zipping along next to her ds this week.

Part of my new double buggy arrived today, it was sent in two parcels so I have to wait until tomorrow to get the rest - boo! The buggy is quite a tank to look at, although when you put it next to my P&T is doesn't look that much bigger. It'll be great on the rough terrain at the beach house.

Brownie, hope your dad gets the answers he needs tomorrow. Well done T on the singing, it's so lovely to hear, although noo never performs on demand.

Panda, have you clicked on my user name and seen the pic in my profile? What do you think of that costume? I have some more fab pics of going out outfits, but don't think I dare put them in the internet!

Beks, welcome to your new arrivals, hope the gerbils are settling in well.

well, we might be off to Thailand a week on monday. DH's idea, I'm still a bit bemused but we'll know tomorrow if it's all go. If it is happening we're taking my best friend with us for a bit of 'help' on the flight and to make sure we can all get a bit of rest whilst out there. DH said: 'it's a night flight so they'll probably sleep for 11-12 hours of the journey'
P M S L I want to live in his dream world please...

Rodeo · 13/06/2008 14:49

Afternoon all!
Have bought my costume, after much deliberation I've gone for this here Hope it's not too cheap looking, haha - who am I kidding Did spot a ghostbusters costume on ebay for half the price and was very tempted, but it was a size too big, so reluctantly decided against it. Ooh Thailand Nova! Have you been before? Do yuo know if it's all on yet? Joe's friend Ned has just come back and all they talk about is baby elephants
Brownie, any news? Hope it's good
Speak later, off to relax now costume drama is over x

mypandasgotcrabs · 13/06/2008 22:53

You're gonna have to take pics Rodeo and get them on the yahoo group. I hadn't noticed the price of the Ghostbusters outfit, but it is wkd! Lurve the Snow White Nova, at being able to wear something that shows that much belly tho! I did almost do Snow White one time, but my friend bought it while I was still deciding what to get (and then changed her mind as it was too short for her!) Would love to see other pics, maybe on yahoo too?

I did lol at your last comment Nova, very funny!

Hello All

Right - update on things here first - Dad's news was GOOD! Nothing nasty to report - they do think he has no immunity to Pneumonia or the Pneumoccal (sp) meningitis thing - so have done further blood tests and may have to give him a couple of injections - but all in all - it was Good news!
But...with evey bit of good news and all that - my Nanna's health is fading - she has a condition called Myeloma (which is cancer of the bone marrow/stem cells) this has been fairly dormant for some years now - but it has now become very active and virilent in her system - so she has dropped from a size 16-18 dress size to a 12 - she is very frail and gradually getting worse. It is heartbreaking, so am trying to pop round as often as I can - she is coming round tomorrow to share our Fathers Day bbq! Thomas loves her to pieces too. SO all positive thougths still needed!

Rodeo - am LOVING that SWAT outfit! might have to arrange a fancy dress party just so I can get one! Nova - youa re one Hot Mamma! I love that outfit too! I only recently bought my first two "dressing up" outfits - but they did come from Anne Summers!!!!!

DH is out for the night, at a BBQ in a field, and is camping over - so me and T have had a fun afternoon at a local family fun day at the community centre (everything was free!) and he was spark out by 7pm! So I phoned for takeaway pizza and have stuffed my face! Hopefully he will have a reasonable lie in and I will be feeling fab for the family bbq we are having tomorrow!? we can hope hey!

Nova - Thailand lovely! we are going to North Devon in August! Similar!? Perhaps only in my mind!!!!!

Right off to trawl interweb!

Thanks for all of your support whilst my Dad has been poorly - it was much appreciated. You are a fab bunch of firends.

Brownie
xxxx

novadandypowder · 15/06/2008 08:21

Brownie, great news about your dad, it must be such a relief to know what you're all dealing with. Sorry to hear about your nanna though. I'm sure seeing T will cheer her up no end today, I know my nan only really smiles when she sees noo and miniman, which unfortunately is not often enough.

I've added a few more pics to my member profile, it shows a bit more of the snow white skirt which is fab, and me as poison ivy and dorothy - check out the ruby slippers! I'll take them off in a day or so as I don't want them staying there.
