Just a quickie to wish Seth a very Happy Birthday Hope you have lots of fun little man

Rodeo · 31/10/2008 14:44

Afternoon!
Happy Birthday Seth! L&Ssmum if you're out there, thought I saw you in Mexico down Saddlergate a couple of weeks ago, did I? Went to find you before pudding but you (of who I thought was you had gone.
Panda and BEKS, sorry you're having BF probs I hate fall outs, they send me into a nervous wreck, but I'm sure you cope better than me
Chacha, is this for the home schooling? Wish I had your ability and confidence What about Foundation stage? Just that Joe is on KS1 now and he's in year 2! Apologise for my ignorance in advance
Beks, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the boys, Joe is the most volatile in our household and has a few anger issues. We just try to lead by example and remain calm but it is very hard not to knock his block off! Hoping he'll be able to cope better as he gets older when he can channel it into sport. That's what I'm hoping anyway...
Brownie, great news on your scan!! Any names in the pipeline?! Please tell
We're having a lazy day/weekend, DP away for the weekend and I'm in the jogging bottoms already! But the toy box has been up-ended and left... better round up the little mess makers in an attempt to make them tidy up after themselves. Might resort to bribery...

MrsJamesMartin · 01/11/2008 10:17

Seth had a lovely birthday, we went to Sundown adventure land whcih he really enjoyed and then just had a birthday tea, need to find space for the presents now though!!
Rodeo yes I did go to Mexico for DHs birthday we were sat in the window seats! Didn't see you though wher were you?
( I'm using my alterego at the moment aswell!!)

ChaCha · 01/11/2008 20:01

Hi girls, am just popping on to say hello but will be back when there is some quiet.
Happy Birthday to Seth, sorry i missed that one too, am rubbish!

Everything has just gone busy at the moment, i honestly don't know where the time goes. We have a wedding this weekend and next weekend and then we are on holiday for 12 days - we are tagging along with DH!

Will catch up with you all asap. And Brownie lvoely to see you post, you sound like you're having a good pregnancy x

AmIWhatAndWhy · 04/11/2008 17:51

Hope you are all well!

I just posted this and wonder if any of you have advice, is it due to having babies and your body changes irreparably?

ChaCha · 04/11/2008 20:43

Hi girls,

Hope you're all okay. We had a good day spending most of it outdoors and at the playcentre - was glad to be home though, still can't get used to walking home in the dark!

Ami - I had a quick look at your link. It seems like a very healthy diet. I mean things like butternut squash soup are fat free and there were a lot of salady bits in there. Minus the wine/milky coffee etc.. i am probably eating much of the same and i am on WW (have lost 9lbs in 5 weeks, lost first half stone on week 4) so cant imagine you could be putting that much on.

I will read your post again later in case i missed something. But from what i skimmed through it looks pretty good tome.

Must run...BTKS, will drop you a line tomorrow...keep meaing to reply to you re: parent ing. etc..

BTKsmum · 06/11/2008 16:27

Hi girls

Hope you are all well, its certainly quiet on here.

Nova hope you had a good b'day and I know there are baby b'days tomorrow for Ash and Libby, hope you both have a wonderful day.

Thought I'd update you on my eventful day yesterday. Eventful is the lucky word for it as it could have been tragic as Tom walked out in front of a car yesterday and was missed by just 2ft I told him to stay on the path with Ben, his friend and the parents of Bens friend, while I crossed the road to put some things in the boot of the car. He decided he'd come and find me and it was only because Bens friend spoke that I saw him and screamed Stop, several times that the car actually stopped. Tom kept walking. Thankfully it was a local car mechanic and not one of the students who hare around here like its a race track otherwise the outcome would have been very very different. I could see it all happening in slow motion and was frozen to the spot, I've never felt so guilty in all my life, for putting him at such risk and also for scaring the crap out of the driver of the car.

After my heart had stopped thundering and we'd taken Ben to school I went on the conflict and anger parenting course, which proved to be excellent. It runs for 5 weeks and in just the first one I realised so much about both myself and the boys. I really think it is going to be a massive help to us as a family. The course is through ParentlinePlus an excellent charity organisation.

So as you can see never a dull moment in the Beks household.

Love to all Beks

feetheart · 06/11/2008 23:09

Oh BTKS that's SO scary, I'd have needed a stiff drink and a lie down rather than a parenting course .
Course sounds great BTW, I don't think I replied when you first mentioned it but I meant to! Not sure what sort of thing, if anything, is run around here but I have just started going through the "How to Talk so Your Kids will Listen and Listen so Your Kids will Talk" book. Felt I needed something as T and I can get into quite a negative rut at times.

Thanks for early b'day wishes. I have already had a complete overdose of chocolate (Nigella's Chocolate cake made into a volcano and covered Delia's Chocolate Fudge icing plus some lurid red and orange glace icing lava ) Tomorrow it will be surrounded by dinosaurs and as many plastic trees as I can find

We are having a birthday lunch of sausage, beans and chips (as requested) for Ash and 5 friends followed by Ben and Jerry's Fossil Fuel (vanilla and choc ice-cream with little chocolate dinosaurs in it!) and said cake. Think I have the current dinosaur obsession covered

Need to finish the washing-up and hide the cake from the cat so better say good night.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our Nov 05 triplets!!! ASH, LIBBY and Jenjam's FINN

BTKsmum · 07/11/2008 23:42

Evening all, just a quickie to wish Sean a very happy birthday for tomorrow. Hope the Panda family have a great day Beks

Rodeo · 11/11/2008 12:17

Hello all,
Quick pop on here before I pick Jess up from playgroup.
Have missed loads of birthdays in my absence, Sean, Ash, Libby, Finn, hope you all had lovely 3rd birthdays
I have been ill for what seems like days! Started last Friday feeling bit sicky, then was full blown gastric flu by Saturday night, through to yesterday. Feel like a weakling today, with zero energy and appetite. Had to do school run this morning and felt like I was on another planet.
Hoping to try and eat something today, but the thought of food makes me feel sick again Really need to be better soon, going away for a girlie weekend in Birmingham on Saturday!
At least the children haven't got it (she says crossing finger's/frantically touching wood)
Hope everyone is well, Beks - really felt for you with Tom running into road - We were on holiday last year (so Jess was under 2) when dp left her on side of road to strap Joe in car first (what was he thinking?!) when she ran behind car into road just missing a tragic accident by about 1 foot. I was doing the usual 'mum' job of zooming round flat grabbing spare nappies, towels, drinks, keys etc, etc, etc!
Bye for now, must drag myself out to pick Jess up x

Rodeo · 13/11/2008 18:00

mypandasgotcrabs · 14/11/2008 13:20

Hiya,

Sorry, I've been lost on football forums , and on my wii fit. As of last night my bmi is no longer overweight . lol, yes, I am normally 'overweight' . But my arms are hurting cos I've been doing lots of boxing & upper bodystuff so as not to make my shin splints worse. (and no, don't worry, I'm not the type to take any notice of the bmi stuff)

Child free weekend this weekend. Out tomorrow with a friend I haven't seen for years, really looking forward to it. Unfortunately the guy I like is busy tonight, so not gonna see him for yet another weekend .

Work is going really well, although we are stupidly busy withy shoplifters atm, in certain departments we actually have more stock being stolen than sold .

Boys are good, Sean's getting much better behaved recently. Is still very much hard work, but since I finished things with my 'bf' I feel a lot better, back to my normal self & am handling hima lot better.

Oh, and I am loving random coloured tights. Get lots of attention from guys he hee!

Right must crack on, car in garage (yet again), gotta sort out blimming csa (really didn't want to, but am embarrassingly skint so now have no choice)

Come back everyone!!!!!

Hello All - I am here, just not posting much at the moment - as generally going to bed early to get as much sleep as possible!

Sorry to all those birthdays I have missed so far - I am officially rubbish!!

Am having Thomas's birthday party next Saturday - think this is the last year we can get away with having it at home at least have learned from previous experience, and am putting a time on it from 2-4pm, rather than open house from 10am which I've done in the past! Not managed to limit the numbers - so could be up to 40 (or over!?) people coming!!!

Any way - am off to watch the X factor now.

Love to all

x

Rodeo · 18/11/2008 18:31

Hi all
Yay panda, love you kicking tumbleweed out of way LOL! Glad Sean is getting better, finding Jess hard work at the mo, think it must be her age, it's getting harder to use the distracting method with her. And she can be sooo stubborn! Still a little show off though, oh and she's going through a biting stage (again!) Red mist just seems to descend on her!
Brownie, glad you are well, 40 guests you're outdoing Beks on the guest stakes there! You mad woman - no wonder you're tired...
I'm still under the weather, a mad girl's weekend in Birmingham didn't help though, scene's not dis-similar drom Booze Britain:Binge Nation keep coming back to me.... urgh. Was fun at the time though!
Right, better sort the munchkins out x

mypandasgotcrabs · 19/11/2008 18:47

Hiya!

Brownie you mad mad woman! Hope he enjoys his day. Hows his little bro/sis doing?

Rodeo, am liking the sound of your weekend in Brum, I was in the casino at 5am Sunday with my head on a roulette wheel! Staff do this weekend, my boss has already been warned she may have to look after me!

Bragging time for me now . Owen has been selected for the gifted & talented programme thing-a-madooby. I'm off to have a trawl later, and see what I can find out about it while I'm watching the football, but a very, very proud mummy here ! He has been rewarded with lots of Match Atax!

BTKsmum · 20/11/2008 16:14

Brownie hope Thomas has a great b'day.

Panda thats fantastic news for Owen, you have every right to be dead chuffed with him. Tell I'm really proud of him too

Rodeo you girls weekend sounds like you had a great time, good for you

Hope everyone is well Beks

BTKsmum · 23/11/2008 18:45

Hmm this might sound a silly question when its so quiet on here, but are we doing secret santa this year?

Had a nice weekend, took dh and the boys to Reading toa wargamming convention, which they really enjoyed. Then had a big pig out breakfast inthe local cafe this morning before going to a friends little boys 2nd b'day party today. So all in all a very relaxed weekend

Hope everyone else is having a good one

Beks x

mypandasgotcrabs · 23/11/2008 21:17

Hi Beks, I'll have to say no to SS this year as I'm embarrasingly skint. I've had to do the MN Christmas thing again this year as I can't afford to buy pressies for the boys this year. Sean is having Owens old bike, so only need 1 or 2 little things for him fortunately. I'm expecting all my direct debits to bounce as I'm having to take out the cash as soon as its there to pay for shopping & nursery. Had staff do last night, and am away in Cardiff in 2 weeks time. Feel bad about going to Cardiff as I know I shouldn't but it's been booked for a few months and I also currently have the mentality of enjoying myself & not sitting cooped up in the house just cos I don't have any money, that'd just make me depressed. Plus I haven't had any maintenance for over 6 months, which if I had,I'd be fine as that is all surplus. Ah well, must stop moaning!

Right well I'm going to watch Survivors on bbc1, mmmm Max Beesley!

OP posts:
BTKsmum · 24/11/2008 16:49

Hi Panda

No Worries at all about SS, can't believe your ex dp is keeping the boys so short what a total git.

Can understand why you don't want to stay cooped up indoors and don't feel guilty about Cardiff, its not as if you are constantly out and about and spending a fortune on yourself. You do what you've got to do to keep yourself sane

Beks

BrownieBells · 27/11/2008 12:29

Hello all - it is indeed v v quiet on here!
Party went v well - approx 40 people, T was quite overwhelmed, but it was a success so well done me!!! I do have a team of great helpers too tho, so it is not as bad as it sounds!!

Thomas had a good birthday - can't believe he is now 3!!!! He had the majority of his presents on Sat at his party - but we did give him a couple of Frieman Sam DVDs on his actual birthday.
He has gone to nursery today with all of his birthday badges to show his friends!
He also has a role in the nativity!!! He is a sheep!!! can't wait to see that, dress rehearsal next week, with performance on the 11th - so dh & I have taken hlaf days hol to go and watch our little precious!!

Baby is doing fine - had midwife appt last week - only issues are incredibly low blood pressure & mega painful back & pelvis (it's starting to grind already) - so am being referred to physio - hoping that helps a bit. Chacha didn't you suffer also - any tips?

Right - bit of a mammoth update from me (have some bad news regarding my Dad - but will update when have a bit more info to give - but prayers and positive thoughts would be good).

Hope everyone else is ok, and not too busy!!!

ChaCha · 01/12/2008 19:52

hi everyone,
sorry for long absence, have been accustomed to using Facebook and forgetting to post on here sorry!

Happy 3rd birthday little Brownie DS's is on Wednesday and we'll have a little party for him with his grandfolks on the weekend.

We have really good days DS1 and I where he wants to do everything with me, we have great conversations, do things together and then we have days like today where his favourite word is 'NO' and he doesn't actually say no, he screams it - he'll refuse to do anything, no discipline seems to work - and his younger brother copies everything he does!! So i have double bad behaviour sometimes.
Anyway, do fill me in if you have or are facing similar... I've started a mum and toddler group in the church hall by my house and our first session was this morning...guess whose children did not want to participate in storytime? Or the circle? Guess whose kids were standing on the chairs screaming 'Nooooo' at the top of their voices? It's quite funny having to keep a straight face and saying 'sorry, they're tired' LOL But really sometimes it seems it's only my kids who do this but then it has to be said they were the only boys there today!!!

Do tell me it's a boy thing!!!

Right gals, promise to log in when i check FB more often. x

mypandasgotcrabs · 05/12/2008 19:03

Hi, sorry for missing ds1's birthday ChaCha, hope he had a great day. Am also guilty of forgetting to check in here as we see each others news on fb.

Hopefully I'll have a job at Christmas, although reading the papers it seems it may be a little unlikely. Has been utter madness today with the 'biggest ever sale', but on the plus side we have taken a lot of money.

Put in a csa claim recently, xp heard from them today and conveniently got the sack today too. And it's my fault of course!

Love to you all xx

feetheart · 06/12/2008 22:09

Hello all! Seem like I need to work out how to use Facebook properly!!

Happy (belated) birthdays to Sean, little Brownie and Z. Sounds like everyone had good days. Are we really all 3 now, how did that happen?

Had a lovely time in Lanzarote although the morning we left was a NIGHTMARE, don't think I have ever been so stressed Had to get first DH and then the cat emergency appointments at the GPs/vets. DH's was an inner ear thing, all dizziness and nausea, no cure apart from time but at least he could fly (hideous visions of having to cancel and having to tell VERY excited chidren!) The cat's was a lot more serious in the end, with us having to make horrible decisions at the airport as to whether we could afford £1,000s on a consultant (no!) or let the vet have a go. The view is he caught a mouse that fought back and very nearly cost him an eye!! Luckily the vet did a fantastic job and he can still see though one eye looks a bit odd. A friend was a complete star, looked after him at her house and spent most of the week taking him to and from the vets and feeding him roast chicken!!! Not sure he wanted to come home! After several days of feeling very guilty about not getting round to insuring him (especially as I had looked into it) I calmed down and enjoyed the holiday. Seems a lifetime ago now but there was sun, sea and volcanoes. Think it was a big success as at least once a day one of the children asks to go back

Caught up in the Christmas rush of plays/nativities/fetes/
parties/pantos/etc. T is a snowflake and A is a sheep too Brownie! Need to put white furry fabric together in a vaguely sheep-like way tomorrow so wish me luck.
Better get some sleep now. Love to all.

mypandasgotcrabs · 07/12/2008 12:16

Argh! Weekend from hell has been had here. Ending in the conclusion that I should never organise nice things for us as they just go wrong.

Glad you all had a good time FH, and glad cat is now fine, although odd looking!

I'm not sure when I'll be seeing Owen's Christmas performance, as it's supposed to be Tuesday, but he had a really bad allergic reaction to something at the church when they had their rehearsal last week. As he has never had an allergic reaction to anything we have no idea what it was, but they are going to let me go in when they do it to the school.
