Words? Henry can get everything he wants in life with 'ta', 'in there, 'no', 'hiya', 'that' and 'ARGHHHHLLLLLGGGHHHGHH'...and that's about the sum of it...What does a cow say....'Moooo', What does a dog say.....'Moooo', what does a duck say....'Mooooo'...get the gist?! DD was virtually multi lingual and writing reflective poetry by this time (ok...she had about 20 words!), so we've put it down to the over-ingestion of my lipstick (£9.89 from Boots and eaten on the first day!)and numerous bumps to his head from his remarkable, but not always safe acrobatic endeavours!Going well though

moosma · 03/07/2008 09:14

Wow Sallyallyally, in this house cows say Boo!
She does have quite a few words though and will repeat anything so is learning new ones all the time. She'll say "Orry" when she's broken/hurt/snotted on something and will give you a kiss too, she'll ask for "Duddles" and will spot a "Do-Guh" from a mile off and start woofing at it.

Her walking is getting very good, she now wants to walk everywhere and will climb out of the pushchair while it's going along - yesterday she did about 1 mile!

Sleep is still good although she hasn't been well recently, about a month ago she had croup, then over the last week she's had hand, foot and mouth, plus of course there's the teeth which seem to trouble her a lot although she still only has 7 [sigh]. On the plus side though, she now tells me when she's done a poo and yesterday during a nappy change she told me she was about to do one so I sat her on the potty and she did it there

They're both going to be bridesmaids for my brother next week so I'll put some pics up then

andyrobo237 · 14/07/2008 21:32

Where is everyone?? All got some sunshine??

All well here - still only got 8 teeth but new shoes!

Summer hols start Wed so will get busy around here!

marmitemad · 16/07/2008 14:05

we're still hanging around as well, life is great fun now.

Just got back from a week in Normandy with mil, sil, bil, niece & nephew. we all came back alive and dd absolutely loved having her cousins on constant tap as playmates (cue dh suggesting ttc dc2 again ).

12 teeth here and I can see the top canines are nearly through, sleep is still pretty good though luckily. still haven't managed to drop the bottles or the dummy but we are working on it.

eats absolutely everything except for peppers bizarrely, fav foods are fish pie and lamb casserole.

loads of words and nonsense babbling here, door and key are very popular atm and she has also started copying eveything I say in a very cute way, particularly her name (think she's probably trying to shut me up )

added a few new pics as well.

Anybody know where I can get some size 3 sandles or jelly shoes, they just seem to come in small sizes.

andyrobo237 · 16/07/2008 20:53

shame your dd is not a boy as I had a pair of blue jelly shoes in a size 3! They went out in the last charity bag - so couldnt even send them on - they were from Next.

marmitemad · 16/07/2008 21:30

I'm not fussed about only putting her in girly things/colours but thanks for the tip, will have another look in Next although when I looked a month ago they still only started at size 4 in sore.

moosma · 17/07/2008 15:26

My DDs have just been bridesmaids and they wore strappy sandals from Zara - DD2's were size 3

peachygirl · 17/07/2008 19:40

Boots had jelly shoes in the sale marmite, but I didn't look at the sizes.

Things OK here counting down the days til the summer hols now.

I'm doing a few extra days at work and get paid supply rates which is quite good.

We have booked a holiday using our airmiles which I'm looking forward too. We are going to Madrid which is supposed to be a brilliant city but it's going to be hot hot hot!

DD has terrible nappy rash at the moment I'm still sticking it out with the Metainum but I may have to take here to the GP.

peachygirl · 29/07/2008 20:37

Sigh, are you all on holiday??

OP posts:
marmitemad · 30/07/2008 09:04

I'm here! (lurking at work )

thanking for the shoe hints, have now got some size 4 doodles in the clarks sale which aren't horrendously big although she did trip over a lot at first.

Moosma - just nosied through your pics, love the messy play ones. we always go out for messy play as I haven't been able to face the mess (and clearing up) at home.

more teeth here, first canine finally appeared and 2nd one nearly here.

I am soooooooooooooo broody, sil recently gave me back some tiny baby clothes which I need to return to another Mner and I can't help picking them up all the time and marvelling wishing!

andyrobo237 · 31/07/2008 21:46

Still here also - had a weeks hols in Yorkshire - great weather and had a great time - stayed in a log cabin.

Ds has ben horrendious (sp) with sleep since we got back - finally tonight he went to bed at 7.20 and is still there! The last two nights it has been past 11 when he fell asleep - not good for my MN'ing!! (sorry dong jobs)

daizydoo · 09/08/2008 21:21

Hi there! Ds managed to sleep in his own cot from 8pm to 5.30am last night!!! He's also decided that he doesn't want to sleep during the day, which I am quite about as I can actually get stuff done during that time! Anyhow what do you think the chances are of another full nights sleep, tonight?!!?

suzi2 · 13/08/2008 22:22

I'm here - haven't been about in a while. Just too busy really. DD has decided not to go to sleep at night either (though is fine to go down for a nap ) so I'm spending most of the evening comforting and coaxing her...

daizydoo · 16/08/2008 22:20

Guess what - he only slept through the once! Sleeping abit better during the day but sleeping at night is getting worse... It's like a vicious circle.
Ds is going for his 1st haircut next week. I'm quite sad about it, but it's starting to look messy and people keep asking me if he's a girl

peachygirl · 18/08/2008 20:10

sorry to hear about the sleeping woes.

We are off on holiday tomorrow so I'm also expecting some difficult nights.

See you all soon.

babydriver · 25/08/2008 21:29

Hi, thought I'd look in as I'd not been on for ages. Hope everyone's had a nice break over the summer. Sorry your LO's not sleeping so well daisydoo.

We've had a good break in Sussex with SIL and her two, so kids all played together while we put our feet up (not!!). DS2 has lots of words and is into everything whilst keeping us amused with little dances and funny faces.

Sallyallyally · 27/08/2008 19:04

Hello, isn't the time going fast? Henry not been too well, had some sort of tummy bug and not been able to keep anything solid down for 6 days. Lost so much weight..very worrying, also developed some sort of lump on his neck which I'm hoping is a lymph nodule type thing, but off to Docs this evening. Fingers crossed and lots of good wishes please xxxx

babydriver · 28/08/2008 22:37

Thinking of you sallyallyally - let us know how Henry gets on.

Sallyallyally · 29/08/2008 11:44

Looking good....GP discovered 4 lumps! (we'd just found one!), but reckons bodies response to infection....because he got so thin the one we noticed looked so alarming and like it was growing! Duh! And me a midwife too....just goes to show you can't be rational with your own babies! Anyway...scared the life out of me, so glad to be stupid and Henry ok!
Anyway...after 6 days of eating nothing, he suddenly felt better and now is a little like that fridge monster in ghost busters! This morning has polished off 2 sausages, alphabetti spaghetti, a peach, a yogurt, half a banana, a mini packet of choc digestives, a packet of crisps, a gingerbread man, 2 glasses of milk and half an apple! (Takes after his mother!).

daizydoo · 29/08/2008 13:25

Glad that Henry is better!

andyrobo237 · 10/09/2008 21:19

Dont anyone mention sleeping - T thinks it is an evil word in this house! He has been teething terribly at the moment - it seems to be the fang ones - the last four nights he has struggled to get to sleep and then only on me. Tonight I put him in bed and let him cry for 20 mins before he fell asleep, then an hour later he has off again - so put him back down and told him in a stern voice to go to sleep = he is still there now!!!!!

Oh well, hope all is better elsewhere!!

peachygirl · 11/09/2008 20:53

Fangs causing bad nights here too, waking at 2 and 3 am.

daizydoo · 12/09/2008 15:37

Oh my goodness - just had a positive pregnancy test - dh is insisting I take another one. Will let you know the update later...

andyrobo237 · 13/09/2008 19:49

daizydoo - congrats! (maybe is it a bit of a surprise??!!) There are two ladies I know who have kiddies same age as Ds and one is due in the next few weeks and the other is 18 wks pg! A lot of nappies to come I fear!

DS is in a far better mood today apart form cutting the inside of his lip today while DD was at gymnastics! Lots of blood but 10 mins later he was bouncing around again! Made of rubber these kids!

daizydoo · 14/09/2008 11:31

Thanks Andy. Yes the 2nd test was positive as well. I shouldn't be surprised, but I am!!! Now I just have to work out how to get DS to sleep through before the sleepless nights start again!! He is getting better - but still has off nights - maybe its the teeth too!
