Happy birthday. I've not been on for a while. Dh's trip was good and I enjoyed having the sofa to myself.

Happy birthday Moosma for yesterday, you share the day with my dd!

we had a busy weekend with parties, joint baby one at friends on sat and family one on sunday, we also briefly went to the swings yesterday as it was such a lovely day. Yesterday was very tiring but I just didn't want it to end, I can't believe my baby is 1 year old! few pics on profile

must sort out vaccinations now, did anyone have any problems with the boosters so far? I am thinking of leaving the mmr for a while but dh disagrees with me and thinks she should have everything when the gov say (but he hasn't booked any appoints yet)

SmudgeMum · 25/02/2008 12:50

Happy Birthday Moosma for yesterday. And still happy birthdays for all our little ones. Still this week to go!!
We had a busy time travelling down south and trying to get our house empty for new tenants (who don't want it furnished!) Briging all our furniture back up here so going to be no space to move whilst we work out what we're doing.
Not feeling too bad at the moment. A bit icky so I need to eat cake at least every 3 hours!!!!!
I haven't done anything about booster vaccinations yet Marmitemad. DS was ill just after his birthday and now keeps getting something. I dont' think DH would even think to have an opinion on it but I might be doing him a disservice!

suzi2 · 25/02/2008 15:36

DD is getting her boosters on Weds IIRC. I think DS was about that age too. TBH, I've never really given them much thought. DS was really poorly after his though so I'll need to watch out.

Finally got DD shoes! Yay! She's been driving me batty wanting to walk so we were passing the shop again today and I figured since she was rolling through her foot a bit they had changed shape. And we managed to get the shoes on OK. So she's got a teeny pair of navy (was either that, white or red) leather traditional t-bar shoes in a size 2. She is walking pretty well in them considering she's never really had anything on her feet. They're start-rite BTW if anyone is struggling to get teeny walking shoes. I think they're the only place that does a size 2 (albeit in one style).

peachygirl · 25/02/2008 20:32

WE will be having our booster late and then the MMR. Due to me not ringing the surgery earlier. They couldn't get us in til March and so the MMR won't be done til aprilThe GP told me it didn't matter too much especially with the booster.
One of my friends is asking here GP to give her DD the MMR and Pneumonia jabs seperately.
I've wondered about this too.

Congratulations Smudgemum, that's fantastic! I was 5 weeks pg at Dd's first birthday, 20 mo gap. Hard for the first year but then easy as pie.
Dead btw, we're debating a fourth over here.

Ahhh, my show drama, thanks for reminding me DCMY.

Well Ds is one, and is a cute monkey, climbing everywhere he shouldn't, up the stairs like a shot, running about the house which is driving me nutty ( we got 'starchild' little soft leather shoes for him- with skull and crossbones on- fab!)

Eats for England and we are just stopping bf'ing this week. Has discover the botom drawer in the kitchen containing all interesting items such as safety pins, sewing kit, pens etc and has posted most stuff out of the cat flap on a daily basis.

He has developed a slight obsession with trains, it is in fact his first word (just once I'd like one of them to say mama/dada first) and that was closely followed by "yeah" and "nana".

Ooh I reeeally want to do it again. x

MoosMa · 27/02/2008 09:34

Tabby drank her breakfast milk from a cup!!

marmitemad · 27/02/2008 10:47

well done Tabby , was it any particular baby cup or just a standard one?

dd is now drinking cows milk from her bottle but point blank refuses milk from any other receptacle.

andyrobo237 · 27/02/2008 13:07

We survived DS 1st birthday here - I made him a cake in the shape of a No. 1 and covered it in white icing - then DD (6) drew on it with icing pens!!

T is now a fully fledged walker - got shoes last week - 3.5 G! Got Clarks cruisers as they did nothave 'proper' shoes in his size - but I like these better - a kind of khaki colour. So now he gets his ball and takes it to the door and gets his shoes and waves them at hou, while going to the door - some form of subtle hints going on there I think!!!

He had his booster yesterday - big brave boy gave a 30 sec cry, but was distracted with dummy and choc buttons!!!!! Bribery works well! It does help that he knows the HV very well - she did the post natal group we went to every week!

Eating is getting better - Childminder now gives him same as other two - which he loves!!

Smudge mum - wow - 2 under two!! IT will be fine - my brother has two under two - I think there are 21 months between his two girls - is wife does not work (was a teacher) and seems to manage ok - always out and about!! THe second child seems a breeze to the first - different temprament - it could be worse - I imagine twins to be very stressful (but those mums survive!). As long as you manage to get 1-1 time with both babies and time to yourself, then life is good!!!

MoosMa · 27/02/2008 15:32

MM it's one of these, the pink one as it happens, DD1 has the green one. She's been drinking water from it for a while and I've been trying to get her to drink milk from a non spill one with the valve removed as it's easier to wash but I've given up on that one for a while.

marmitemad · 27/02/2008 15:55

thanks Moosma, dd drinks water from one of those but as I said refuses to drink formula or ccows milk from anything other than a bottle, guess she's just not ready for that transition yet.

Andyrobo - I made 2 x number 1 cakes from loaf tins and icing them with sugarpaste was very tricky in the corners. Glad the boosters went ok, I booked ours today for 26th March so we will be running a little behind but I wanted to wait a while for the mmr anyway.

daizydoo · 27/02/2008 20:27

Please can someone give hints on how to get my DS to drink cows milk without spitting it back at me?? I've tried him with a sippy cup and a bottle, but I usually end up wearing it!! Beginning to think I'll be breastfeeding forever at this rate

SmudgeyDoodle · 27/02/2008 21:04

Woohoo Tabby. Can you show the rest of them how it's done. Daizydoo - I've got the answer on how to stop BF - get pregnant!!! DS totally went off it and is now just having a bit of a feed in the morning. Saying that, he won't drink cows milk either so maybe it's not a real solution. I keep trying and offer it with all meals but he only takes a few sips. One of my friends said her DS never liked milk until she offered him semi-skimmed (controversial I know)
Andyrobo, I like the subtle hints for going out. DS points at the door and nods at me. It's so cute
Thanks for the handholding girls. Please note my subtle namechange, we've nicknamed this one Doodle. I've also joined the Oct08 antenatal group but people are posting like mad so I'm not sure I'll quite get my head round who is who. It's going to be strange this time to be due near the end of the month as DS was due on the 2nd.

MoosMa · 28/02/2008 09:42

Apparently my mum used to give me 'pink milk' when I wouldn't drink, it was milk with milk shake flavouring in! I suppose the milky goodness outweighs the sugary/additive badnes???

Smudge, I've joined the 'waiting to TTC' thread and it flies so fast I can't keep up so I think I'll just stay here where it's cosy and safe! Yes, that's right, we've decided to do it all over again. Having said we never would, the broodiness has taken me over and DH is happily going along wth the idea . I have to do a few things for him first though, just so that he remembers that a bit of the fit 21 year old he married is still here somewhere inside the 27 year breeding machine

daizydoo · 28/02/2008 15:33

Ok so do I get the prize for having the child with the biggest feet?!?! He started walking yesterday so went and got his feet measured. They are a whopping 5 1/2G!! He's too big for the cruisers!!

MoosMa · 28/02/2008 18:23

DD1 is size 5.5 and she's 2.6!!

suzi2 · 28/02/2008 20:26

DS is a 5.5 at 2.6 too!

SmudgeyDoodle · 28/02/2008 21:17

Babydoo definitely gets the prize for biggest feet. DS is still a 2.5!! Maybe he's like a puppy and will grow into them!
Moosma, I wondered about making milkshake but I think for now I'll keep trying with just plain milk and see if we can crack it. He has quite a lot of yoghurt and cheese so I reckon we're covered.

peachygirl · 01/03/2008 20:33

Hi all. things Ok here DD has a bad cold and a terrible bottom agai and is teething.
I had a 'incident' with my micralite where I caught it in a heavy door yanked it and the front wheel came off!!
We got home and discussed what to do as it was so cheap and would it be worth the repair?? I recently found out a service would cost £25 and with postage / petrol to get it to the depot it takes it to the price we paid... We have been using it narly all time time so Dh looked an we bid on another on Ebay This time the full system we are putting the carrycot away for the next baby.
I have salvaged several bits from it. If anyone wants a red micralite buggy snuggle I'll be selling mine
We also are about the sell the silver cross. (anyone know someone who wants one in South london??)

DH has said I have to stop ogling buggies now.
Happy Mother's day tomorrow everyone

Hurrah for me!

Dh has agreed (and it hasn't been easy, let me tell you) to have one last baby, woohoo!

andyrobo237 · 02/03/2008 20:23

Remind us sorkycake - how many do you have now??!! I have thought of the idea o three, but soon put it out of my mind!!! Dont know why, as we are happy with two , and I dont know where we would put another one, plus I had too many complications last time, that having another would be not a good idea!!!!

We are in stairgate hell here - the house is slowly becoming an obstacle course - never had this problem with DD - she showed very little interest in the stairs - this boy of mine is the complete opposite!! Doesnt need toys - just a set of keys, mobile phone, remote control and a football thrown in!!!

sorkycake · 02/03/2008 21:13

3!
how many do you think i have?

babydriver · 02/03/2008 21:40

Hello folks, not been on for ages I'm afraid. Congrats on your news smudgydoodle! There's a little bit of me that wd like another, but mostly I reckon two's enough for us so that's where we're at.

DS has taken his first steps, but mostly is happy pushing a chair around the floor or hanging on to a finger. First shoes purchased at the weekend 3.5F, and both feet the same size which is good (DS1 has one at least half a size bigger than the other). He's also got a great sense of humour and the cutest grin - he had us all cracking up this afternoon playing peekabo round the furniture. No more words yet, and we haven't had cat or down for a while - guess he's just concentrating on trying to walk for now.

OK, off to do a bit of surfing to see if we can find a cheap break over Easter.

MoosMa · 06/03/2008 17:13

Hello... lo... lo... [echo you see]

Is anybody still here? We're all plodding on ok here, T bumped herself quite badly a few days ago - fell over in the bath and split her eyelid and got a black eye, avoided casualty though as it didn't bleed very much and it's much better now .

Still only 4 teeth but she's had a bit of a temp and horrid poos recently so there may be more on the way... How's everybody else?
