Hope this is ok.

foxythesnowman · 02/02/2008 15:20

have they got cream in those apple turnovers? Or do they need warming in the oven, then a hefty drizzle of cold double cream over the top?

I have curry and wine for dinner.

Where's the permanent Farmers Market FF?

Izzybel · 02/02/2008 15:24

Sorry I just kinda disappeared before! DP came home, he had done the shopping himself (yay) and had to go and put it away. I'm sorry to hear that you've had PND btw Natty hope you're doing ok despite the boiler, bailifs and the washing machine . Hope no one thought I was being rude by just disappearing .
Mmmm apple turnovers my favourite! Good job I don't have any here as I would just sit here and eat all 7 to myself [greedy].

FairyFay · 02/02/2008 15:24

It's in Hampton Hill, just outside Teddington. It's one big shop but sells all the things a farner's market has - great vegetables, loads of nice cheese, posh meat, a fish counter, an artisan bakery, jams and chutneys from small producers, local dairy products, olives, home made food like pies, lasagne, salmon en croute, frittata and loads more. It is 10 mins walk and is fantastic but hideously expensive. I bought one chicken breast there for DD last week and it was £3.40! For that price, I'd expect it to have been a deliriously happy chicken, fed on gold plated grain.

FairyFay · 02/02/2008 15:28

Hello Izzy, don't worry about going away

Izzybel · 02/02/2008 15:33

Thanks FF. I don't like disapearing before saying goodbye .
Anyway, I've got a hungry LO that needs feeding so I'll see you all later!

FairyFay · 02/02/2008 15:36

byeeeeeeeeee

foxythesnowman · 02/02/2008 15:40

bye izzy.

that sounds lovely FF.

its still not bedtime, is it? I have my tea now so feel marginally better.

milkyJammy · 02/02/2008 15:43

Not a big apple turnover fan myself. A vanilla slice on the other hand ...

I got to clean up the cat vom because it's my cat!

Well, my temperature is on it's way down, but C's is going up So the Calpol has been brought into play.

Foxy, hope you feel better soon, and that the DC put on a good show for you

FairyFay · 02/02/2008 15:44

No, unfortunately not. Right, I really must turn the tv off before DD's eyes turn square. See you later, I'm sure.......

foxythesnowman · 02/02/2008 16:02

My DCs have discovered the joys of You've Been Framed. Makes a change from peppa I suppose.

HellHathNoFury · 02/02/2008 17:07

Helloooooooo!

Sorry you were ill Jammy
But we had a good time. Although there is no way they would have fitted 6 of us with LO's, as it was we were all on each others laps!

We went for a walk after though which was nice despite our pram getting caked in mud. CAKED.

And Bumper is a mean chef - the pumpkin and cheese muffins were great! And Bumpers DH is lovely too!

HellHathNoFury · 02/02/2008 17:08

Foxy if you can make it to Reading I'll make you a cup of tea AND lay on the biscuits!

milkyJammy · 02/02/2008 17:15

Glad you had a good time Fury. Did you go for a walk on Port Meadow? Yes, it can get very wet there, imagine it would be muddy.

LittleMissNorty · 02/02/2008 17:22

Hello ladies

Thanks for the good wishes....all that talk about cream and apple turnovers though ...they are off my diet atm......on the waiting list for removal of gall bladder....oh GREAT....

Went to A&E about 10pm Wednesday night and got a bed at 2.30am as I was about to breach waiting times targets....and the surgeon woke me up at 3.50am to assess me ....I couldn't get home quick enough...the people watching was amazing / horrifying...I've never heard so many old women moaning and whinging....it really isn't very pleasant being in the same room as someone while they use a commode either.........I now know why I chose a job in the NHS that doesn't have any patient contact...

Very pleased to be home....and so is DH....he did do very well but I think he realises I haven't just spent the last 8 months sitting on my arse doing nothing...

Sorry to hear about colds Foxy and Jammy....K has ANOTHER and we've just taken her for a chilly walk to the park in an effort to dry up the snot!!

FairyFay · 02/02/2008 17:40

Oh Norty, it sounds like you've had an awful few days - any idea when the op is likely to be?

annobal · 02/02/2008 18:35

Hi everyone. Sounds like everyone is full of colds and worse!. We have thankfully been cold-free for at least a week now so it is all likely to change soon...

Norty, poor you! A&E is the worst. Hope you're not feeling too bad while waiting for the op.

Apple turnovers sound lovely.

I was up early this morning making the largest chocolate cake known to man, then icing it and putting smarties on top. Unfortunately we didn't bring any home from the party. All-in-all it went well - no broken bones, one bloody nose and a fist fight (over a girl called Josie - these 3 year olds...).

Natty, if you are still around, send me your address and I'll post you the Giles Wareing book.

foxythesnowman · 02/02/2008 18:41

Take away and bottle of wine prescribed for you tonight Annobal! Exhausted? How did DS1 enjoy it?

annobal · 02/02/2008 18:57

All DSs had a great time - there was a moment when DS2 was face painted as a blue power ranger when he actually meant spiderman - but the lovely face painter lady (Debbie) saved the day with said spidey.

Bloody exhausting though!

Off to order take away. Mmmn pizza or curry? Red or white?

FairyFay · 02/02/2008 19:03

Glad it went well, Annobal. I'm sure you're glad it's over though .

Both DCs in bed, thank goodness. DD not yet asleep though so positive vibes.....

No sign of Dh - but I've just seen that Wales won so I expect he'll be off celebrating somewhere, so god knows what time he'll appear.

foxythesnowman · 02/02/2008 19:07

Curry and white here! (purely medicinal). Lo's in bed, not asleep - but under final warning. If I have to spend the next two hours up and down the frickin' stairs again I will lose it.

Why do I only ever get sick when DP is away?

And is there anything on TV tonight?

FairyFay · 02/02/2008 19:09

Dh was up and down with DD between 11:30 and 1:30 last night, if she tries that with me tonight, I may lose what little of my plot I still have left after today.

Fish and chips for me I think

annobal · 02/02/2008 19:14

DS1 & 2 in bed for an hour already! DS3 about to go. Hurrah! Sending sleeping vibes Fairy.

We're watching Persuasion at 7.30, so if Jane Austen rocks your boat it's on bbc4.

FairyFay · 02/02/2008 19:17

yeah all ordered and should be here in 45 mins - now off to find wine and something to watch on the tele.

Sleeping vibes all around ......

milkyJammy · 02/02/2008 19:21

Hoping for a sleepful night here as well. Was up 4 times last night with C. She's had a dose of Calpol just before bed, and hoping that it won't be so bad tonight. I can hear coughing coming through the monitor though even now, so I guess it could go either way ...

DH is making kedgeree for tea, and unfortunately we don't have any white, so I'm hoping we've got some lager in the fridge.

foxythesnowman · 02/02/2008 19:26

Gosh! Sorry Fury - just realised I totally ignored you earlier! tell us about your day - where did you go? How are Bumper and Mr Bumper?
