Morning all [thick headed emoticon]. Bad night's sleep in the Jammy household last night and C and I coughing well this morning, and I'm all bunged up and sneezy too. (Thankfully DH has the constitution of an ox, and an excellent immune system and is showing no signs of illness). I was up 4 times to see to C in the night and we ended up bringing her into bed with us. She is smiley though and seems fine this morning apart from her cough thankfully.

Fury & Bumper - if you would rather we kept our germs at home DO SAY!!!!

Norty - gallstones, ouch!! Bet you did miss LO, glad you're back now though. And well done to DH!

Izzybel · 02/02/2008 09:29

Good morning!
Sorry to hear about your time in hospital with the gallstones Norty. Sounds really painful I hope you feel better soon.
Happy Birthday for yesterday Daisy! Hope you had a wonderful day!
Happy Birthday Sputnik!
That 'Mums of Steel' thing sounds good JBM. I don't think there is one near me. I try to do as much walking as possible with the pram, as the fresh air tires DD out! But with the recent weather haven't really be getting out much.
Jammy sorry you still aren't feeling a hundred percent hope you feel better. With regards to the bath incident, I'm sure your DD will be fine it is scary. I think I told you about my swimming pool incident where I nearly drowned DD. I felt so awful as she was coughing and spluttering, and she seemed in such shock. All these people were around and they must have been thinking "ooh, that dreadful mother has just nearly drowned her baby!" Suprisingly, she still enjoys the water though.
Hope you all enjoy your meet-up today!

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 02/02/2008 09:44

morning

foxy she was a stupid woman I always leave mine in the car and then get them out when I have the ticket

norty sorry yu've been in hosp you poor thing hope you're feeling better

jammy lo banged his head on fairys floor on wed and held his breath for ages felt like bad mother too

sputmik happy birthday
daisy hope you had a good one

morning izzy

Izzybel · 02/02/2008 10:02

Morning Andiem! Oh yes, I agree Foxy, she was stupid! If she couldn't see her DCs they could have been ran over by a car or abducted. I always have my heart in my mouth when I see things like this or when I see LOs running riot in a shopping centre or bus station and their parents just aren't watching them. I cringe thinking, "please, just grab their hand" I really worry about children getting lost or taken, especially in the sad world we live in today

Izzybel · 02/02/2008 10:08

I've just noticed that DD has one bloodshot eye. Do you think it could be conjunctivitis?(sp?)

HellHathNoFury · 02/02/2008 10:28

Jammy we are all ill too, we can give it to Bumper, share and share alike ;-)

HellHathNoFury · 02/02/2008 10:35

Izzy - could be. Is it gunky?
Is hard to tell, as sometimes you can have conjunctivitis without gunk, may be worth a trip to the GP on monday if it hasn't improved.

milkyJammy · 02/02/2008 12:05

Well Fury & Bumper should be meeting in the pub about now - and I'm at home with a temperature, feeling rotten Never mind keeping germs to self, I just couldn't face going out - pulling on some leggings and an old tshirt wore me out! C's not got it as bad thankfully and I'm hoping it stays that way.

NattyThomasandEllen · 02/02/2008 12:42

i sorry to hear everyone is feeling so poorly at the moment, we had our bout of sickness a few weeks ago, i have no idea how i got thru on so little sleep whilst being so sick so wishing you all well xxxxx

ive got a really bad lip today its all cracked an sore so poor me
a balif(sp?) turned up yesterdat for a debt we didnt owe and tried to force his way in the house phoned council and they are looking into it (as it was council tax)
my washing machine has broken as well and the boiler broke down wednesday so we had no heating for 3 days
so all in all feeling very sorry for myself

cheer me up guys

milkyJammy · 02/02/2008 12:56

Aw Natty, sounds like you're going through a rough time. No wonder you feel sorry for yourself. Hope the council sorts things out and gets your name cleared, that's not something you want hovvering over you. And hope your lip gets better soon.

Do you have anything nice planned for this pm to cheer yourself up?

foxythesnowman · 02/02/2008 12:57

Jeeeeeez Natty. True shiteness.

Whats your landlord doing about it? Give 'em hell.

Sorry, won't be able to cheer you up as feeling truely awful myself. Full of a cold. Still took the boys to football this morning. I'm such a martyr!

milkyJammy · 02/02/2008 13:00

Hi Foxy. You really are after that supermum award aren't you

I'm all burning up but still letting C sleep on my lap even though it's making me feel even hotter - guess martyrdom is just part of motherhood?

NattyThomasandEllen · 02/02/2008 13:02

ah you are truely an inspiration foxy!!

im going to eat a whole box of roses jammy lol, does that count? im now down to a size 8 so i think i need fattening up

Izzybel · 02/02/2008 13:05

Hi Natty! Aww sorry you're feeling so down . at balif trying to barge into your house for a debt you didn't even owe! OMG no washing machine or heating in this weather! Poor you!
Fury, it did look a little gunky before so I have wiped both eyes separately with cooled, boiled water. The other eye seems to be ok but she kept rubbing the bloodshot one before so I've a feeling she will transfer it, coz I'm not gonna be able to stop her.
Don't know what I can say to cheer you up Natty .
I'm just waiting for DP to come home then we can go and do our weekly food shop,
booooring!
It's such a depressing time of year too, what with the weather, everyone getting ill, christmas being over etc. I keep thinking roll on summer, but then I don't want to roll on summer because my baby will be one and she won't be a baby anymore .

Izzybel · 02/02/2008 13:06

Size 8!!!!!

NattyThomasandEllen · 02/02/2008 13:12

lol i know what u mean izzy, im so sad ellen is growing up so fast
Ellen had the bloodshot eye with this cold it was slightly gunky to, doc gave me saline drops to help clear them, you can buy them over the counter i think, just a suggestion?

NattyThomasandEllen · 02/02/2008 13:13

ah izzy size 8 is down to my PND so i wouldnt recommend it as a diet.. lmao

milkyJammy · 02/02/2008 13:21

You can buy saline drops over counter - but tell pharmacist it's for eyes, apparently they're a better quality than the ones for nasal use.

Izzybel · 02/02/2008 13:25

No definately not!
DD did have a cold so maybe it's part of the aftermath, poor thing.

Izzybel · 02/02/2008 13:26

Sorry Jammy x-post then! The 'definately not' was to Natty re PND.

foxythesnowman · 02/02/2008 13:28

Forgot to say, hope you are getting better Norty - am sure City v Arsenal is picking you up a treat

NattyThomasandEllen · 02/02/2008 13:44

lol foxy

NattyThomasandEllen · 02/02/2008 14:24

where'd everyone go?

foxythesnowman · 02/02/2008 14:34

i'm here, lurking, feeling knackered and crap. reading threads and browsing ebay, and generally trying, unsuccessfully, not to interact with my children.

sorry, perhaps someone will come along and cheer us both up?!

FairyFay · 02/02/2008 14:37

Hello, I'm lurking too but can't think of anything to cheer you up, sorry. I'm a bit fed up too, as both DCs are miserable and Dh is out having a nice time watching the rugby. I'm jealous
