Hope this is ok.

Hi JBM. Absolutely, can't wait, but also a bit overwhelmed with how much there is to do between now and then. I booked the removalists today (we're getting 3 months free storage ).

I know what you mean about this age being lovely - I love that DS gets so excited over seeing me and the giggles are just an amazing sound - sorry, pulling myself together

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 20:04

Well I haven't seen Corrie in years, but I was a teenager (a young one at that, I think) when Terry and Kevin were young, so I'm hoping that doesn't make me too old

annobal · 01/02/2008 20:05

8 weeks yesterday!

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 20:05

I love it when C gets the giggles

annobal · 01/02/2008 20:06

Ah - I think that's why I'm watching re-runs of Friends...

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 20:07

Now they do look young in the early episodes!

annobal · 01/02/2008 20:13

LOL - they still look the same age in friends

justbeme · 01/02/2008 20:16

You're very brave Annobal - its bad enough moving house within the UK, let alone half way across the world! But you've been there before, so at least you know what to expect.

So what are you ebaying - anything exciting?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 01/02/2008 20:17

Hi all just popping in quickly.

Jammy v scary! The only thing to be wary f is that she might not like the bath for a while. I thing something similar happened with Fury and he went right off baths. I usually have baths with DD, but have started just giving her quick ones on her own and like JBM we lay her down. Have also just bought a bath mat.

Happy Birthday Daisy!!! And for Sputnik tomorrow too. Hope you both have fantastic days!

Annobal, good to see you back. Hope the moving isn't too hideous.

Jammy see you tomorrow! Looking forward to our meet up.

justbeme · 01/02/2008 20:19

Ohh Takeaway just arrived - will check back later!

FairyFay · 01/02/2008 20:20

We have one of these for the bath

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 20:26

We are thinking of getting one of these

FairyFay · 01/02/2008 20:31

Looks good, Jammy. Ours isn't exactly like the one I linked but is very similar. DS loves it as he can reach all the toys and bubbles, and it means that I can take my hands off him while bathing, which makes it a lot easier.

annobal · 01/02/2008 20:35

They are good - we had one for DS1 but didn't use it for very long,

Right - have to wrap ds2's presents - it's his birthday tomorrow and we are having a party tomorrow. It's with a friend of his and we have a local hall (there is no space at our house and I hate the tidying afterwards) and a bouncy castle and face painter. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it...

FairyFay · 01/02/2008 20:36

Good luck annobal, it sounds like fun. I'm all for parties which avoid clearing up

annobal · 01/02/2008 20:36

JBM - I've been ebaying baby clothes - I've only gotten up to 3-6 months and made a load. It is a real PITA but definitely worth it.

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 20:51

OK. I'm off night all. Hope the party goes well Annobal.

foxythesnowman · 01/02/2008 21:00

Hope LO is OK Jammy - very scary. I've not bothered with seats (and not necessary now I have small children willing to hold the baby). I did have a full length bath mat which is well worth it.

Annobal, will you be able to squeeze in one last meet-up? Hope DS's party goes well tomorrow. He'll have a ball!

Another non-mover here too. Well, she rolls around and ends up somewhere, but no crawling. Thankfully.

annobal · 01/02/2008 21:03

Thanks guys - will report in on amount of carnage tomorrow eve...

Absolutely Foxy - let me know when suits.

foxythesnowman · 01/02/2008 21:27

I have to say, I've had a bloody good day.

Just goes to show, if you are a slack mum 99% of the time, it makes it so much more worth the effort for that 1%.

Couldn't do it every day though. Am absolutely bloody knackered.

foxythesnowman · 01/02/2008 21:40

Right, I am going to get judgemental.

Went swimming today, nowhere to park in the carpark, so have to park in the Pay & Display bays on the street.

Street is pretty full, lots of parked cars either side. Woman with 2 lo's pulls in behind me. Pay and display machine over the other side of the road and down a bit. My kids are still in the car, I've walked over and back trying to register to do a mobile-registration payment thingy.

Woman behind me, gets her lo out and in the buggy. LEAVES him and the 4yo in the street whilst she crosses the road and walks down to the machine to get her ticket. There is NO WAY she can see her kids from where she was, or get back to them if the older one had walked into the road inbetween the parked cars. Is it me, or is she completely bloody stupid? Its London FFS - no one drives slowly, there are white vans everywhere on this street. Am still rather mad. Did I say anything? Nope. Bottled it.

foxythesnowman · 01/02/2008 21:40

And on that note, I'm off to bed. Night all.

(Daisy, if you get in and decide to log on, hope you had a lovely birthday!xx)

justbeme · 01/02/2008 21:47

She was stupid Foxy - she should have left them in the car. You would only have been given a mouthful though if you'd said anything. Think I would have just kept an eye out for the Lo's whilst unloading my Kids.

Im off too - night x

LittleMissNorty · 01/02/2008 22:17

Hello all

Happy birthday Daisy & Sputnik

Just a quickie to say hello - been in hospital since Wednesday with gall stones....just like having contractions in labour just a bit higher up but still farking hurts....

Home now though feeling much better and missed K loads.....DH done very well looking after her though..

Will catch up over weekend

Nite x

HellHathNoFury · 02/02/2008 08:15

I have been reading about your bath seats, I think I win a bad mother award too. DS plays in the bath by himself, spinning around, sitting and playing with his toys, no seat or mat or anything and we just keep an eye on him

Norty so so sorry to hear about your gallstones! I wondered how you were this morning (before I read your post) as hadn't seen you for a few days. How are you feeling?
