ocado are a separate company as far as I can make out

They also deliver John Lewis (which I know is part of waitrose).

They are either a different company entirely or a subsidary of the John Lewis partnership.

Waitrose used to have 'Waitrose Deliver' in addition to Ocado, now it's just ocado.

Happy to be proved wrong.

Wikipedia may have more info.

Hello everyone

FairyFay · 01/02/2008 19:04

Happy Birthdays Daisy and Sputnik

Well, I am sure that you are all dying to know about my asda delivery

Well, it did turn up, over an hour outside their 2 hour window - Dh's razor blades are still in their security box which could prove interesting, DS's 4 baby food jars are an assortment of flavours selected for us by the shopper rather than the butternet and chicken ones ones that I ordered and the plastic kids bowls I ordered for DS were replaced with china ones. now lets see, do we think that Fairy will be doing another online shop with Asds next week, or indeed ever again..... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I did, however, amke it to Kingston for a brief shop though, which was nice. However, I only ended up buying things for the DCs - I really must try harder

FairyFay · 01/02/2008 19:06

Oh, and hello everyone

No, no snow here. It was a lovely, bright crisp and cold day.

foxythesnowman · 01/02/2008 19:14

Hello FF! you reminded me - a PG test I bought online came in its security box. I really, really wanted to use it IYKWIM. The delivery man smashed it out of its box for me.

Oh, it was for this LO BTW, not since!

justbeme · 01/02/2008 19:23

Why do certain things come in security boxes then? or are they supposed to be removed before they are delivered?

I think I prefer REAL food shopping - I like getting all the nearly out of date bargains which you wouldnt get online!

Made it to B & B - it feels like Im doing all the inviting at the moment though - hopefully I'll get a few back.

foxythesnowman · 01/02/2008 19:27

Hi JBM! How are you and yours doing?

Yes, they are clear plastic boxes.

Good for you with B&B.

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 19:39

Supermarkets now put some of the slightly more expensive yet easily nickable (and frequently nicked) stuff in security boxes. I knew they did it for razorblades, didn't know about preg tests, but makes sense.

Bad parenting award of the night coming to me I think . C was in the bath, but grumbly in her seat. We know she's a bit on the big side for it now but hadn't thought much about the next stage. So tonight we decided to try just sitting her (holding her) in the bath, only I fumbled and she slipped and landed face down in the bath . I picked her up straight away and she was crying but OK. We heard a bit of a thud as she fell, but aren't sure which bit of her thudded against the (steel) bath, whether it was her forehead, or torso, or what. She was OK after a couple of minutes cuddling, then made the usual howls about being dried off and dressed for bed, then fed and went down pretty much as normal. So we think she'll be OK but will probably pop in and out to check during the evening. Feel REALLY bad though.

justbeme · 01/02/2008 19:39

Hi Foxy - we're doing great - L is not very mobile (which i like!)
She's getting better with her eating and looks very healthy!
I love her lots!! This really is the best age isnt it? No naughtiness, arguing back, strops etc
What about you?

FairyFay · 01/02/2008 19:40

Hi Foxy - I was wondering if there was something you had to tell us, until you clarified!

JBM, yes it's in a clear box with a chip that they should have removed before delivery - muppets. I hardly ever do an online shop and I won't bother again for a good while after this fiasco.

justbeme · 01/02/2008 19:43

Ouch Jammy!
We bought a bath mat this week - but I prefer just letting L lie down in the bath and kick about - it leaves your 2 hands free as well - I usually end up stuffing her nappy whilst watching her !
Im sure she'll be fine. She probably just got that "stingy" nose where the water goes up it (I hate that feeling!)

FairyFay · 01/02/2008 19:45

Don't woryy Jammy, DS has been dunked too, they are very reilient and apparently have an auto mechanism until they are about a year which stops them drowning. I~'m sure she'll be fine

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 19:46

Thanks JBM, I feel slightly reassured now. My instinct is that she'll be oK, but thought that someone on here would tell me to get my arse in gear if I ought to be doing something for her.

Bless her, after a day of not feeling well and throwing up most food because of coughing i plunge her face down into the bath!

FairyFay · 01/02/2008 19:48

blardy hell my typing is shite tonight and i haven't even had any wine yet

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 19:50

I'm more worried about potential head banging than drowning. She was only face down for a couple of seconds.

annobal · 01/02/2008 19:51

Evening all! Hope you are all okay. Poor DD Jammy - I'm sure she'll be fine though, she sounds fine. I once fell and hit the wall with DS1's head not too hard though and he was fine - I still shudder when I think about it.

DH is out tonight and I have given myself the evening off going though stuff, ebaying, chucking out, for out impending move.

DS3 definitely not moving - sitting up well though so that makes life much easier (he gets very excited by a basket of toys - so cute).

Happy birthday Daisy & Sputnik

annobal · 01/02/2008 19:55

Has anyone heard from Natty recently? I was going to send her a book but haven't heard anything from her.

justbeme · 01/02/2008 19:57

Hi Annobal - are you getting excited??

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 19:58

How many weeks have you got left Annobal?

justbeme · 01/02/2008 19:59

No I havent heard from her - but looks like she had a good time out the other night with her friends (On FB!)

God I feel old - Kevin on Corrie looks really old tonight and what about Terry the other night? They used to be "Young" and okish, - so if they look old, then I must too!!
