Oh god, onion bahjis (wipes drool off keyboard)

thisisRialifebaby · 31/01/2008 20:32

DH says (in his infinite wisdom of maleness) that there are so many nasty bugs about because kids don't eat enough soil etc!

I was only thinking about your DH today daisy (purely innocent I promise) and was going to ask you how he was getting on. Is he still away part of the week?

I am very very very jammy. good on ya! I think we will have takeaway on Saturday. I think DH is going to cook the swiss pork on Sunday evening as DM&D will be back from their hols so we can invite them round.

yes he is Ria, but is doing a round of job applications at the moment and a couple of them are looking hopeful. His M&S experience should stand him in good stead as they are seen as market leaders in all things packaging; especially their packaging reduction strategy.

LOL at you thiinking about him though...can I tell him? he'll be sooo freaked out, although he is coming around to the idea that you are all a bunch of lovely supportive friends rather than boob obsessed hairy truckers!

LardyMardyDaisy · 31/01/2008 20:44

LOL again Ria....my Dad used to say "you eat a ton of shite in your life, a few specks of dirt won't harm you"

men

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 20:47

That sounds lovely, going out to dinner, Daisy. Is someone looking after the DCs? Ria that sounds so nice of you to invite your M and D round for Sunday dinner. My Mum is always complaining that she never gets invited here for dinner. She says she gets invited to her "proper daughter's" as she says. That's my sister!

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 20:49

Lol, at boob obsessed, hairy truckers!

LardyMardyDaisy · 31/01/2008 21:01

The outlaws are coming over; reason for the outing is it's my birthday (but I'm getting age sensitive so I'm not really thinking about it!).
I'll be running around like a headless chicken tomorrow trying to make the house look less slumlike as DMIL has very high household standards.....and I'm convinced she doesn't like me or the way I (don't) look after her PFB son and PFB grandchild.

Off to be sociable with my DH.

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 21:18

Night Daisy! Right I best be off too. Night all.

thisisRialifebaby · 31/01/2008 21:24

Ah, MILs dontcha just luv em. You can tell him daisy, I don't have the energy to be a mad stalker though so I hope he's not disappointed. Have a nice day.

We usually go to my Mums for Sunday dinner izzy (we always have because when DH is working he's not here on Sundays), DH likes to invite them round fairly often. Probably if it was up to me I wouldn't, because it means tidying up. They're fun people, and they might be a bit down when they get back (they usually have 2 months in NZ at this time of year with my middle sis, but she's moved to the Emirates so they've spent the week in Cyprus with them). The boys will be so pleased to see them, they love their GPs more than us

I am off to read my book. night. Rx

Please stop me from making a sarky comment about swapping your child for toys on this thread

Sputnik · 31/01/2008 21:45

Do it, do it

LardyMardyDaisy · 31/01/2008 21:55

nah, don't want to be harrangued by a bunch of huns; people have been flamed for much less by the for sale/swapz crowd!

LardyMardyDaisy · 31/01/2008 22:01

am definately off this time!
Gnight sputnik if you're still out there!

Sputnik · 31/01/2008 22:18

Me too, before I eat anything else!

thisisRialifebaby · 31/01/2008 22:59

I'm still here, the wind's scary, our neighbours fence blew down. glad our car wasn't parked next to it. just sent DH to my mums to check it's still standing. it is.

should go now though.

BTW, good luck to your DH with the jobs daisy.

Where is pumpkinhead?

HellHathNoFury · 01/02/2008 08:56

morning all

am I the only person in the world that didn't know samantha fox was gay?

hope everyone is well. I am chuffed, despite my car being dead, BECAUSE!
a) I have lost another 1lb
b) DS slept through last night!

Maybe things are looking up

foxythesnowman · 01/02/2008 09:22

yep. Been watching Wife Swp?

Well done you Fury! Great news on both counts.

I'm taking DDs swimming, so have my Mother Of The Year Badge ready for my return please!

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 09:39

If it makes you feel better Fury, I didn't know until I saw the trailers for wife swap.

We are having a stay snuggly at home day today. We're both a bit not well so a nice easy day seems to be the way to go. A good chance to empty the toy box and rediscover some of the things that have fallen to the bottom and not been played with for a while. And do laundry.

milkyJammy · 01/02/2008 09:40

By the way I'm hoping that if I play with the toys, C will do the laundry. I'll let you know how it goes

Izzybel · 01/02/2008 09:43

Hi. I didn't know that Sam Fox was gay, either! I'm not really here, btw, I am doing the housework! I was just wondering how that little boy had done in the open heart surgery and found myself being drawn to the laptop! Can I just ask, what is a hun? I keep hearing of people being referred to as huns on MN and I keep thinking 'what do you mean?'

Izzybel · 01/02/2008 09:47

Glad things seem better today Fury well done on the weight loss and yippee for DS sleeping through!
Sorry you're not well Jammy although a nice easy day sounds good. I am still in my pjs myself although I feel fine .
Hope you enjoy swimming Foxy

What happened there!? Sorry for the double post!

As far as I understand it's a term of endearment used by some mumsnetters, often on the for sale threads. And for various reasons (sometimes seemingly inappropriate use, volume of use, there may be others) it may be used by other mumsnetters in a mocking fashion.

I'm sure someone else can add more colourfully to my attempt at an explanation?
