hey guys thanks....weak

I'm not sure wine is the answer though; I am currently facing up to the fact that my alcohol consumption is rather more than is good for me

bumper, I'm impressed with your baking skills. I keep on meaning to do somegluten free baking as I'm sure it'll be better than anything I can get commercially prepared, but my get up and go seems to have got up and gone

sorry...feeling a bit sorry for myself this afternoon, and realised I've missed my ADs completely this week [dufus emoticon]

LardyMardyDaisy · 31/01/2008 17:07

ria.....sorry for your DH and the job. The perfect job is out there for your DH and I hope he finds it soon.

milkyJammy · 31/01/2008 17:11

Ria, sorry about your DH's interview.

Think C might be coming down with something. She's not been hungry today, and has just thrown up a load of milk. She's had a little cough which seems to be a bit worse this pm But might be nothing of course - certainly hope so.

thisisRialifebaby · 31/01/2008 18:04

thanks

hope C is ok jammy, that's one of the downsides of nurseries unfortunately.

Oops, just had mummy meltdown with DS1 about his bully/BF triangle. He swears the other boyos his BF but he won't listen to reason that if BF was really that bothered (ie, not enjoying the friction he's causing) he wouldn't want anything to do with the bully. I think it needed saying, but perhaps not that harshly.

and bloody baggins is covered in brocolli

Thanks Ria. I offered her some tea and she ate better than I expected - a bit of mashed potato/parsnip/celeriac/carrot with a scattering of cheese and just over half a kiwi fruit (another new taste). And now she's crashed out on my shoulder (normal for this time of day) but keeps having a little cough. Poor thing.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 31/01/2008 18:17

tea over now just about to do bath and bed

jammy I could go back to work for 3 months for 1 day a week and not pay the money back but I just don't want to we have saved the money so we have it it just pi**es me off that after 9 years of bloody hard work they ask for it back but that's life hope c is ok they do catch lots when they first go to childcare

daisy poor you dcs can push you to your absolute limit at times

bumper we have not made muffins we have made rocky road this pm your offering is much healthier than ours!

foxythesnowman · 31/01/2008 18:19

Ahh, the start of snotty season for LO I'm afraid Jammy.

Sorry to hear about DH's job Ria. Crapola.

Daisy, is he hungry after school? Blood sugar dip? Its a long time since lunch. He might be having a growth spurt and its taking it out of him. Something carb-rich (Sainsburys just happen to be doing BOGOF on Hot X Buns I notice!) to get him home. Fruit WON'T cut the mustard, I'm afraid. Needs to be a honey sandwich or something. Boys just need it.

Right lets get these kids to bed!

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 18:58

Hi everyone! everyone seems to have had such a rubbish day today.
Fury - So for you re the car situation. How frustrating! It must be under warranty for being so young. Fingers crossed for you that it is.

Andiem - how crap about the maternity pay .

Daisy - Thats scary, what happened when picking DS up from school. Hope your ceiling isn't leaking too badly.

Ria - sorry you're not feeling well at the moment. That's ashame about DH's interview.

Jammy - Your poor LO. DD has just got over a cold and cough. It was keeping her up at nights. When I took her to the doctor, he put her on antibiotics, which I thought seemed a bit extreme. I thought he'd just tell me to give her some calpol or something. I found that putting some books under her matress, to raise it a little bit, helped the coughing at night time. It was something I remembered the HV saying.

It's been miserable weather here today! Blowing a gail and absolutely peeing it down. Sounds like pretty much everywhere else in Britain at the mo.
DD has been a bit of a madam today. She's only happy if she's using me to hold her hands so that she can stand up . She tried to climb up me so that she could steal my sandwich at lunch!
IKWYM about babies getting more mobile. She can't crawl yet, but I left her on her playmat today and I came back to her to find that she had shuffled around and was chewing on the dog's toy eww! The dog must have brought it from her bed and I hadn't realised. Yuck yuck yuck!

milkyJammy · 31/01/2008 19:47

Izzy - she's got a towel folded up under the head end of the matress (forgot to take it out from when she had a cold at Xmas ) but I might raise it up a bit more if necessary. No coughing since she went to sleep so far tonight, though she was coughing while napping during the day.

milkyJammy · 31/01/2008 19:58

Have decided to sod it tonight. A curry is on the way and I've just got some beers from the shop

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 20:00

Ooh nice one. Mmm curry, hopefully that'll be me tomorrow. Usually get take away on a Friday .

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 20:01

You can't beat a nice curry and a few beers to cheer you up!

FairyFay · 31/01/2008 20:04

Nice one Jammy. We usually have a take away on a Friday and I look fwd to it all week. mmmmmmm

This was impromptu. I had got some chicken breasts out of the freezer but just couldn't be bothered in the end. The chicken'll keep to tomorrow.

Daisy, I meant to say earlier I really don't envy you the situation you described earlier. And v.scary when the pushchair blows off in the wind. I stopped to put the raincover on this afternoon to shelter C from a head on wind and had to hang on tight to the pushchair while I did so, but at least we were just in the middle of the park.

Sputnik · 31/01/2008 20:11

Don't worry Izzy, it's all good for making anti-bodies (or that's what I always cheerfully state whenever something like that happens).

Daisy, I feel for you, that kind of thing is the last thing you need right now. Would second Foxy's snack suggestion.

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 20:13

We always used to use the same place and when we used to place our order, they would immediately say our address . We don't really use them anymore as we moved and we tend to get a lot more menus through the door than where we used to live. Nice to try different places .

Sputnik · 31/01/2008 20:18

I wish we could get takeaway curries here. We have a pizza place/restaurant we go to regularly, we must've gone once a week when I was pg and I would order exactly the same thing every time. They must've wondered why they bothered coming to take the order

milkyJammy · 31/01/2008 20:18

OK. I'm off for onion bhajis and veg biryani

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 20:20

Oh, I swear my poor child is going to be dragged up. I feel sooo sorry for her! There have been so many incidents since she was born it is unbelievable. The first time I took her swimming I slipped in the pool and dropped her underneath the water . I am the worst mother in the world, lol. She still seems to keep smiling though, bless her! It's a good job she's a good baby otherwise I'd be tearing my hair out. It's just because I'm so dizzy and clumsy. Maybe I should namechange to DizzyKel !

LardyMardyDaisy · 31/01/2008 20:20

thanks for the advice on the snack. In hindsight that was probably at the root of it, but me in my overtired premenstrual state didn't react as best I should. He had an apple, but if fruit isn't going to work, I'll go for something carb rich and see how we get on.

hi izzy....I don't usually moan this much (at least I don't think I do ). You must think I'm a right old nark!

DH is home, the LOs are in bed, I have american hard gums, galaxy and wine....

and the job front is looking up for DH. There are a few jobs advertised in the local area, including the firm he used to work for. They didn't want him to leave, but couldn't afford to keep him. They have apparently seen the light of day where salaries are concerned though and got more realistic. Fingers crossed!

LardyMardyDaisy · 31/01/2008 20:23

and izzy, my DD regualrly shares her toys with the cat. she likes it when they are really soggy with cat drool. I keep telling myself it's all helping to build a healthy immune system

I'm going out tomorrow! like in the real world out, dinner a duex at our favourite restaurant Can't wait!

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 20:23

Nah! You're not a nark! That's what MN is for, get things off your chest!!

Izzybel · 31/01/2008 20:24

Build a healthy immune system! That's it! That's why I don't do the cleaning
