Baby boy born 25th June, 8lbs13oz 💙

PeanutButterFalcon · 09/07/2021 09:26

How’re you all finding things? I am loving being a mum but cannot get on top of the house (which stresses me out). DH does more that his share and she just will not lie down. I have no idea what I’m going to do when DH goes back to work!

Olivebranch26 · 09/07/2021 09:52

Hi, my boy arrived 3.7.21 8lb 9.

Only just starting to feel normal ish, I've been so emotional and feeling a little guilt for recovering from c sec and not being able to do much. My DH has been amazing and let me have 2 night sleeps and I'm feeling great today. Loving being a mum of 2, although how ill cope when DH goes back to work is a mystery lol. X

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 09/07/2021 11:18

Day 10 here and all is going well!

Loving NOT being pregnant! Having full use of my body etc!

Have been doing some rearranging in the house which i had planned to do before the birth but i was just a useless lump! Much more motivated now. BabyDS sleeps quite well and is in a good routine with his feeding.

You will all be fine without your DP/DH at home, i actually find i get more done!

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE How amazing is it not being pregnant, I can't belive how little sleep I'm getting and even so I've more energy.. such a relief. Can I ask how you have got your little one in a good routine? My DS thinks night time is wakey time and its getting quite tiring lol x

PeanutButterFalcon · 09/07/2021 19:38

@Olivebranch26 were exactly the same. Sleeps most the day as soon as we go upstairs she’s awake. Are you breast or bottle feeding? It’s only I’ve been told they’re awake/feed more at night as this helps with our hormones and establishing milk production

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 10/07/2021 15:40

@Olivebranch26, i think when you already have a couple of DC (or a few!) then a new baby does just seem to slot in around the others! BabyDS is formula fed so goes around 3 hours between bottles. Between which he spends maybe half an hour awake and the rest sleeping

Olivebranch26 · 11/07/2021 09:32

DS is bottle fed so usually has about 3oz each feed, a little wake time and then a sleep. Usually 2-3 hours but at night most a 2 hour sleep.. just trying to nudge him to sleep a little longer between each feed, he grumbles a little sometimes so maybe he has a bit of tummy ache waking him up.

My DD is really good with him so we are starting to get used to having 2 kids now Grin quite lovely when she is fussing over him not so much when she is having a tantrum and waking him up lol. X

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 12/07/2021 11:14

@Olivebranch26 how old is your dd?

How is everyone doing? x

PurpleCurtain · 13/07/2021 15:07

Hopping over here now DS is here - 7lb14oz on 10/07.

I was feeling okay about things until this afternoon - trying to breastfeed but currently exclusively pumping as his tongue tie is causing us issues, which was okay until DH was feeding it to him in a cup (as midwife instructed) and DS flails his arms and spilt the whole thing, 15ml of hard earned colostrum. I haven't stopped crying since, I just feel devastated and emotionally drained - now we're behind with feeding which stresses me out as we have no 'spare', and I think that was my 'last proper' colostrum too. Stupidly hadn't invested in any milk pots or small bottles before he arrived to have a storage spot and feed in small amounts etc! Anyway, hope everyone else is less of a wreck than me today!

PurpleCurtain · 13/07/2021 15:20

@PeanutButterFalcon we're considering booking a cleaner as there's no way I can handle housework at the moment either...is that an option? We're not having visitors (other than health professionals) until he's two weeks old though so I'm hoping I feel more on top of it all by then anyway!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 13/07/2021 15:45

@PeanutButterFalcon how about using a sling around the house?

OP posts:
PeanutButterFalcon · 14/07/2021 22:02

She absolutely loves being in her baby carrier or bouncer. She has a lot of trapped gas so unfortunately it doesn’t last long before she’s crying.

@PurpleCurtain not having visitors sounds a great idea. We had so many and then they’d tell me to “sleep when baby sleeps”. I’d love to but you’ve been here

marmilade92 · 15/07/2021 07:06

Baby boy born 14.7.21 at 11.41 weighting exactly 7lbs. Done on syntocin and gas and air. Induced on 13th at 2pm and was 2cm. 10pm 3cm and 9.10am 9cm. Pushed for 2.5hours. Was due the 24th of July but he decided that was too far away. All happy and healthy. He's struggled a bit with breastfeeding and keeping a hold on but hopefully we can return to it soon once he's settled more and I've got more confidence in what I'm doing.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/07/2021 11:54

Congratulations @marmilade92 Flowers

@PeanutButterFalcon tbf i think my house keeping standards may be pretty low, 6 dc will do that to most people

Hey everyone my little one arrived two days early! Our surprise was a little girl ♥️ 7lb6oz. Motherhood is so much better than I ever even imagined - also I never thought I would have to write down the date and day of week just to remember it! But I’m embracing the chaos that is the first baby - baby bubble!

How’s everyone doing? Xx

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 17/07/2021 09:34

Congrats @TiredAlreadyOhDear glad you are enjoying Grin
