I found a mixture of zoflora floor/toilet) and tcp/dettol (handles/tables/other surfaces) is the best

theUrbanDevil · 30/10/2007 15:24

woo!! new thread already?!

LOVE the pictures Wilkie, i need to put some new ones up, we got a new camera at the weekend and i took some really nice ones today.

we were down in Surrey at the weekend, and MIL fed Z a whole packet of chocolate buttons while my back was turned! i said he could have one because she was so desperate to give him some, and she gave him the whole packet! arrrgh! also, she gave him breakfast while we had a lie-in (which was lovely) and told me he had a Petit Filous, two biscuits and some chocolate for his breakfast. that's balanced then. grr. he was quite poorly and totally hyper come the evening and she kept saying, "I wonder why he's not going to sleep?" GIVE ME STRENGTH!!!!

and, breathe...

what size clothes is everyone else's lo's in? Z still fits in in some 3-6 month clothes ( EAH - those red dungies still fit him - just!!) maybe i should go and get him weighed!!

tis dh's birthday today, i got him a cup from Z with a picture on it and "Daddy's mug" along the bottom. tis very cute...

FFS what is it with mils and fecking chocolate fecking buttons?! Had the same problem with mine and ds1, UD. Stupid woman.

ds2 just went into 9-12m, but I noticed his babygrows are already looking a bit trim - since he worked out how to eat he has just piled the weight on, and now resembles a little pudding.

Sorry, forgot to say, W, photos v cute.

Just started to make a lasagna to realise I've run out of lasagna. Bugger. And now ds2 has woken up.

Happy Birthday Mr Dryad!

new pics on profile, as promised...

awww ud he is to cute I love the one of him really beaming! (can't believe those dungarees still fit obviously I threw hatties onto the 'give to friend' pile to early)

Hattie mainly in 6-9month stuff odd thing is 3-6month (cardigan and jacket) and odd 9-12month tops (mainly from adams as seem very short in the body) ellie was always about a month behind her age group on clothes and it appears hattie is going to be the same.

Am trying to find them xmas day outfits at the mo seen a gorgeous burgandy velvet smokcked dress in bhs for hattie but want something similar for ellie (she had a lovely velvet dress last xmas with cream cardi and tights)

My mum is having ellie all day tomorrow and taking her to see my nan, hattie has her hearing test at 9.15 (a secondary follow up due to my hearing problems as a child) plus her final heart scan (if all clear then she can be signed off and not seen anymore) then fingers crossed if all appointments run on time, hattie and I will pop into town to meet one of the ladies from work for lunch (she keeps saying she never sees hattie properly)

Made chicken and mushroom pie for dinner and hattie ate loads along with potatos, peas, sweetcorn and carrots and ate hers in half the time it took ellie

Aah cuteness! UD - is he doing thumbs up?! Impressive!

I have a dilemma:

I rang the first nursery which I saw today (I really liked it but the waiting list was ages long) I just wanted to check when they could exactly take him, and they said they'd just had a baby leave (wasn't ready) and that they had 3 full days and 2 half days spare at the moment!

ARGH!
What should I do?
There are no PT jobs around.
I possibly get more shifts at Prickmark.

I'm in a quandry!
I guess I could just put him in for one and a half days and try and get a job to fill them?
But if I don't then I'll be flipping skinteroonie!

All advice greatly appreciated! x

Lizzzombie · 30/10/2007 17:48

ps - DJ is in 6-9 months with a couple of 3-6 month tops which I love too much and a couple of 6-9 tops too.

6-9 Vests are getting a bit too small though.
I have a few pairs of trousers which are 6-12 which is weird, as he will grow loads between those months.

oh lizz that is hard - although you should at least be able to get more shifts because of christmas and if you really love the nusery then I'd be tempted to take the place (can you get any help from working/child tax credits??)

I am very tonight gave hattie her bedtime bottle at 5.50 (she is very tired as only had 40min sleep all day!) and she was fussing and not drinking it, got her new anyway up beaker I got her today and kept sucking it so I swapped milk into the beaker and she drank the lot so looks like shes decided no more bottles (took ellie till 14months to get off bottles and she looks to grown up with milk in a beaker )

New pics on profile - check out the £3 primark fleece sleepsuit

WeeWitchyWilkie · 30/10/2007 18:35

Bugger me - new thread already!! Do you think we have too much time on our hands?!?!?

UD - fab photos - he is a little cutie

EAH - how big is H's tongue in that photo

Lizz - bum, don't know what to suggest mate but I feel your pain.

2Happy - bonjour matey. Have we still got a game going?!?! Will go check in a bit

Canmummy & hunnybunny - nice to see you popping on here. Hunnybunny - don't worry about posting personals, just make sure you keep on posting how S and you are getting on!!!!

Erm....................sorry to anyone I missed.

J is out of 3-6, in 6-9 trousers and 9-12 tops. He has short legs like me poor sod.

I know this sounds daft but I am SO in love with my little man. It has really really hit me the past few weeks. Is that weird or normal for it to suddenly hit like a thunderbolt. I have always loved him but god, we are talking overwhelming ATM.

laughalot · 30/10/2007 18:47

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA Wilkie wait till he is a stroppy little toddler then you will change your mind .

Ooops ud on mil giving z buttons, laughalot has just thought about opening the tube she bought lauren for christmas .

laughalot · 30/10/2007 18:49

eandh · 30/10/2007 19:04

actually I have regressed to my childhood and am havinh tinned peach slices and evaporated milk mmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy - right now I need to get off here and do my ironing

theUrbanDevil · 30/10/2007 19:06

lal - the weight's spread right across my back so it's fine, but if i wear it too long then my shoulder starts to ache a bit. it's still loads better than any other sling i've worn, and i can bf him in it too!

Lizzzombie · 30/10/2007 19:08

I CANT PLAY SCRABBLE TONIGHT!!!!!!!
Grr... stupid facebook won't work on the computer this evening. I know its my go, on like 2 games with people here, but I cant do anything about it until the morning.
It gets too busy or something in the evening so it doesnt work!!!!! Very annoying.

EaH - am loving the chocolate muffin picture!
UD - Z is looking very cute too - are the knitted tops your handiwork? I've not done anything creative since I've had DJ.

BUT that will change. This weekend I am not working, and DP is taking baby to his parents in lowestoft, so I am baby free for the FIRST TIME in 9 months!
I am going to sleep for most of the time, but for the other bit of the weekend when I am not sleeping I will be being creative and making xmas stockings for us all.

F**king fireworks jut started..bollox!

RGEEnie · 30/10/2007 19:16

Hi all

Eah really pleased E has recovered. Not nice going to hospital (not to mention one swarming with dodgy superbugs).
Been thinking about bottles as I've heard it's recommended you don't use them after 1 year. P still gets a wake up and a bedtime bottle. A. m thinking of cutting the wake up one and giving her breakfast instead (but bottle is so much easier when getting ready for work )

Jodie glad your household is recovered too.

Wilkie - loved the photos. The one of J walking was fantastic.

UD - loved the photo of Z in a sling. He looked sooo comfy!

PCF are your new photos up yet?

Lizz - not much advice but have to agree with EaH that now is a good time to get extra shifts at work cos of Xmas.

Hmm laL - throw us some buttons

Pip is a big bruiser so I hope none of your lo's mess with her . She is growing out of her 9-12 mth clothes and is in some 12-18 mth tops. Is enjoying crawling around, but no sign of walking / standing and minimal efforts at pulling herself up. Looks like teeth no 7 and 8 aren't far off. Chats a lot - at the weekend she hugged me and said 'ahhhh' it was soooo cute - it's what I say each time I hug her. I nearly cried

That's enough proud mother stuff. DH just gone out for a run. He found out today he didn't get into the London marathon for the 4th year on the trot. Don't know what I fancy for tea. Maybe crumpets (a can't be arsed to cook tea?)

RGEEnie · 30/10/2007 19:17

OK it took me so long to write that I see we're almost ready for a new thread....

RGEEnie · 30/10/2007 19:19

LizzLizzLizz forgot to say. I did some BAKING last night. I made banana and pecan buns.

(Maybe that's what I can have for tea )

eandh · 30/10/2007 19:45

rgee hattie has milk when she wakes (round 6-6.30) then breakfast around 7.30-8 shes a little piggy, in fact at 3years old ellie still has hot drink as soon as she wakes and breakfast an hour or so later

I wouldnt worry about the bottles to much, I wasnt that bothered about hattie having a bottle as she only has 2 bottles a day just seems she doesnt liek them (think the milk comes out quicker in the beaker) I fretted about getting ellie off the bottle at 14months and she didnt bat an eyelid! (now getting her to give up her nightime dummy was a whole other issue that took till she was 2 and 3/4!)

theUrbanDevil · 30/10/2007 19:48

lal - the weight's spread right across my back so it's fine, but if i wear it too long then my shoulder starts to ache a bit. it's still loads better than any other sling i've worn, and i can bf him in it too!

Lizzzombie · 31/10/2007 08:19

eandh · 31/10/2007 08:23

Lizzzombie · 31/10/2007 08:45
