Wilkie - your PIL sound weird, poor you.

2Happy · 27/11/2007 21:20

UD - lol...though I'm scared to post anything else in case he reads it Is he talking sense now??
Wilkie - scrooges! That's like mil who likes to buy ds1 presents, for keeping at her house. So presents him with exciting gift which he can't then bring home with him. But at least she buys stuff, rather than just not bothering. How can they not get excited over their grandson's first christmas??
Lizz - ruddy facebook keeps freezing on me; and then dumps the messages I'm writing (mostly to the effect of "no, I just spend too much time on scrabulous!"). If it keeps freezing I shall get irritated and stomp off to bed

theUrbanDryad · 27/11/2007 21:23

Wilkie - i think LTH is still in the SS, i'll txt her and ask. she's been moving house, so prolly a bit snowed under.

yes, dh is flouncing from here, we were sparring on this thread, and i think he got a bit pissed off cause no-one was agreeing with him!

2Happy · 27/11/2007 21:28

AGH! Totally crashed now, Liz! Can I finish up tomorrow?!

canmummy · 27/11/2007 21:31

Hi everyone,

Not been on for ages - dh is working really hard at the moment so I'm either busy doing housework or doing jobs for him that he can't get round to doing!

Been at work today and lo took her 1st bottle of formula! I was so pleased - if she carries on I won't have to express any more
(well actually it was half formula half ebm but considering the rank smell of the hypoallergenic formula it was a start!!!)

Wilkie - my parents are both tight on buying presents. My dad has just asked for their bank details so he can pay money directly in and my mum is getting them a book each!! I don't believe in spoiling them with loads of gifts but even so.....

Who won scrabble? (I'm crap at it so won't be asking to join in....)

walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 27/11/2007 21:35

Canmummy - I didn't want to seem like I was being ungrateful it is just the total lack of effort and enthusiasm that gets me! Mind you, your parents sound worse!!

Lizzzombie · 27/11/2007 21:38

2happy - I have got to do washing up...will continue tomorrow!

UD - have you got 2 computers at home? or was the discussion when he was at 'work'? I am picturing you both say on the sofa tapping away not speaking. I hope you can sort out your differences about this and work out how you can have a night out but he can feel confident about it. I reckon you should do a trial one before december. And see how he goes. ?

Canmummy - well done on the milk cocktail!

canmummy · 27/11/2007 21:39

Wilkie - when dd1 was 2, my step-dad bought her a wooden train set and it was made clear it was just from him. My mum then presented her with a plastic box to put it in and that was her entire present!! To make it worse I was completely bitching about it in my bedroom to dh when I realised the baby monitor was on in there to this day don't know if they heard! I agree, it's not the cost or quantity but just lack of thought

Lizzzombie · 27/11/2007 21:40

BTw - reckon we should start a new thread at 666 - !

Any ideas for new names?

  1. Jan 07 Part 19: This time last year we were cooking our own little xmas puddings!
walkinginaWILKIEwonderland · 27/11/2007 21:43

Lizz - FANTASTIC TITLE! Do it

Lizzzombie · 27/11/2007 21:43

baby monitors - the neccassary evil! I live in dread of something like that happening! I farted really loundly whilst staying with DP's parents after LO was first born. The baby monitor was in the living room with everyone. I was in the bedroom with the baby. SHAME!!!

Jan 07 Part 19: How come I am FATTER now than I was this time last year, when I was over 9 months pregnant?!

bunnyhunny · 27/11/2007 21:45

jan etc etc pt 19: when they no longer fit in the manger ? or pull up and bounce about in the manger? something to do with the ickle baby jesus.

canmummy · 27/11/2007 21:46

Gosh - I keep thinking of last year too and being so hugely pregnant! I think I've got my rose-tinted glasses on as I don't think I'm going to be doing it again

Lizzzombie · 27/11/2007 21:46

19!

Lizzzombie · 27/11/2007 21:47

Part 19 DOH

MrsCarrot · 28/11/2007 10:17

Well, Jesus kept getting out of the manger last night, I am so tired. He was awake last night between 2 and 4am. Groan. I think there is a one more setting on the cot so we don't have get one with a lid just yet.

vinorouge · 28/11/2007 19:43

Oooh Wilkie imagine if you moved to Rothwell we could have so much fun! We are staying in Rothwell when we move, literally moving less than a mile up the road from a 2 bed terrace to a 4 bed townhouse on a new estate. It all seems to be going smoothly with solicitors so fingers crossed it stays that way.

Took ellen for her 8-12 month check this aft and she is 22lbs 7. It was a bit rushed cos the room was so hot I felt a bit faint and Ellen was grumpy and crying, prob the heat too.

I did very little at work this morning. Just couldn't be bothered. Made jambalya for our tea which was yummy and has left my lips tingling. Think I might be having the other cremem brulee now seeing as dh didn't want it last night.

Making a choc malteser cake (Nigella recipe) in the morning ready for my bro's step daughter. Mum coming tomorrow to watch E's swimming lesson then we are off to stay with my bro until Sunday. Not back home until Monday night though cos having a day with mum and dad on Monday.

E is stil refusing to eat at lunchtime. She wolfed macaroni cheese for tea though and cos she'd eaten nothing since brek I felt the need to really FEED her so she had a big bowl of macaroni, a banana and a yoghurt. Plus her bottle an hour later. Greedy! Hope she doesn;t wake in the night again. I need sleeeeeeeeeeeeep

Lizz/2hapy - who won scrabble

UD - why was your dh in a flounce? How are things going with his new job and you finding somewhere to live?

Wilkie - how did you know lth has left the thread other than her not posting for ages?
