A word from a (wise - ) old woman - make the most of your LOs being little, it hardly seems five minutes since he was the size baggins is now...

If I'm this bad about just looking round, heaven help me in September when I have to send him off to the bus

[Pops head round corner to see if anyone has cake]

Hello there. I never ever did come back to say I'd had the baby. Which I did. And I guess everyone else did too.

So who's around, then? And how are the little babies??

Sputnik · 16/10/2007 17:21

Cocobear!
Yep, had mine too
If I'd known you were coming I'd've baked one

upsyderlor · 16/10/2007 17:50

good luck ria, x
LOL LMN at your Scottish dh, they're all the same with the England thing. Probably the English men would be the same about any Scottish teams in sport - but we never even get close so i guess we'll never know

TALLULAHSPELL · 16/10/2007 18:07

Hi all - another new thread - will never keep up once have gone to Oz & will have to beg/borrow/steal internet access.

Got my injection probs sorted - a v kind HV from another clinic will come & give DD jags on Thurs at our own clinic. Result! What wonderful people HVs are.

LittleMissNorty · 16/10/2007 18:17

But Derlor, I live in England...can be pretty awkward sometimes....

IamDaisy · 16/10/2007 18:28

hey cocobear

how are you?

i was daisybump....now have babyboo, emily born 5th June.

bumperlicious is still around, and Trace2 and hollyandalice (now dogtanian), and nattyandthomas (nownattyandthomasandellen). There must be other names that you recognise...mind you two of those are on a MN sabbatical and Trace posts when she can, but her DD hasn't been too well. Oh, lilkel as well, but she's not been around much lately. There are a few joined the thread after you disappeared and more since all the babies were born.

I like the new thread title Ria.....
DD had some mashed potato tonight, it went down a treat.

IamDaisy · 16/10/2007 18:33

LOL LMN, when the world cup was on in 1988, DH and I had been out for dinner when the england game was on. We went to the pub afterwards and it was full of blokes watching footie. the opposing team scored (or something) and I cheered ....DH had to drag me out before I got lynched; and when we got home Beckham had been sent off for his wee temper tantrum on the pitch!

DH doesn't do sport. It's a bit annoying sometimes as I feel bad making him watch it from time to time (would he feel the same if he was sport daft....I sincerely doubt it)

upsyderlor · 16/10/2007 18:35

hi cocobear, nice to met you.
Tallulah, glad you got it sorted.
Hi Daisy, mashed potato huh - yum. how's your day been then?
DS tooth fell out tonight when we were eating our tea thought DH was going to vomit -PMSL at him - wooss

upsyderlor · 16/10/2007 18:36

good move Daisy!!! forget where you were did you?

IamDaisy · 16/10/2007 18:40

I'm allright derlor, I achieved big things on the laundry front, and DS and I walked to the shops to get him new wellies, had KFC for tea (naughty me my skin and insides will suffer) then walked home (uphill all the way with DS complaining with every step ) I should do it more often though as he is too tired to argue with me now.

I spoke to my HV re early weaning . I wanted to wait till six months, but I guess babyboo didn't want to. Her gag reflex is quite well developed if my slightly lumpy mash was anything to go by.

LittleMissNorty · 16/10/2007 18:48

LOL Daisy ....bit like sitting on a train then going to France with every England supporter known to man on there and your DH is wearing a Scotland rugby shirt.......so glad I didn't book my trip for this weekend?

Blimey Daisy...mash already...I'm still doing baby rice...should I do more things....got fruit puree in the freezer!

upsyderlor · 16/10/2007 18:57

thats the best way daisy - just wear him out
the lumpy mash description reminds me of my mum's cooking - i consequently now have a very irrational fear of lumpy mash and boiled potatoes
good for your DH proudly wearing his rugby shirt of choice LMN

upsyderlor · 16/10/2007 19:06

i'm actually feeling slightly scared of DD starting on real food. i know it's irrational but i have really struggled this time after my horrible start to BF which i gritted my teeth hard and fed through my tears.
TBH i haven't even expressed any milk this time - not even once, i have fed her "booby milk" (as named by DD1) from me entirely - i just can't bear the thought of anyone else being able to feed her. i want to do it myself and feel that it is my right.
DH has no problem with this whatsoever so that helps loads.
MIL keeps saying... "when can I start feeding her, I can't wait (never - fuck off, goes through my mind) but i just smile and say oh not till Christmas. But, as Christmas creeps ever closer i feel aprehensive of MIL others getting to feed her
NOT normal i know but i can't help it

Seansgirlnotblondegirl · 16/10/2007 19:26

Blimey! A new thread already, I can't keep up!

So what are you giving Babyboo Daisy besides mash? DS has had some rice, and oaty porridge (looks like rice to me) and today he had some Hipp Organic fruit puree. (Not alot I hasten to add)I have to say the fruit puree seems to be his favourite he couldn't gobble it fast enough! Perhaps he is fed up with milk esp as it gives him reflux! Think it could be time to consult Miss Karmel again if I can find it!

Had to laugh at the MN addicts - it is very addictive, and thats one of the reasons I went cold turkey as I can quite easily find an hour disappears and I still haven't pempitied the dishwasher, cleaned the toilet, phoned the drs, etc etc.... also I un/fortunately don't have a lap top - I have to sit in the spare bed room to use the pc.

Anyway, I digress if I do vanish again its cos I'm getting ready for St Ives (leaving when pick DD up from school) and will be back!!

teabag007 · 16/10/2007 20:02

evening all, i hope we're all well.....the great thing about this place is just when i'm starting to think about or experience certain things with rapidly growing dd, you lot are already talking about it...it's so reassuring just knowing you're not the only one - so thank you all!

This time it's moses baskets (yes, I think we only have a matter of weeks, if not days, before cot is required.....best go out and get one) and weaning (was thinking wait for 6 months but hey, if she's hungry, why not sooner?)

dogtanian · 16/10/2007 20:13

Car tax £180!!!! My dp won't stop going on about it! He has had a comp car for so long he didn't realise how much it was!

Derlor, I am with you on the feeding thing! I have expressed once, but that was when I went to evening class. Ds didn't drink it so I gave it to dd. She loved it and then I felt guilty about not still bfing her! I'm not gonna wean ds for a while yet. He is not showing any signs of being ready, so I'm not going to rush him. I'm not ready yet anyway. I feel that I missed out on him being a newborn (daft I know) because he was so big, that I am quite prepared to solely bf for a while longer. It makes him more of a baby to me IYSWIM!

upsyderlor · 16/10/2007 20:16

thanks Holly, either we are both a bit crazy or i'm not as crazy as i thought (or was being made to feel by my evil MIL!!)

dogtanian · 16/10/2007 20:19

I think we're both a bit crazy!

upsyderlor · 16/10/2007 20:21

i can live with that.
