And dairy-free too if needed.

It's not been the best month for a lot of Januaries has it?

Wisest no longer RGee - 21st August 1970 for me!

Wilkie - according to Carol Vorderman (so must be true ) ear lobes have to be unattached to be called earlobes. If they're attached they're not lobes, don't know what they are though!

canmummy · 17/09/2007 22:35

Skinny jeans?!?!

(diet must start - again - tomorrow!)

Lizzzombie · 17/09/2007 22:35

My ear lobes are attached and so are DP's. But LO's lobes hang free....from his rubbery ears!

Lizzzombie · 17/09/2007 22:36

canmummy - I dont think they are supposed to be skinny....they are just REALLY tight, so look skinny!!!!

Hello all, first day back at preschool today and was dreading it (ellies fav teacher has left) she cried in the car park, we got in and the new manager had set out lots of pairs of wellies with paint trays and paper so they did wellie boot painting, she was so excited she said bye and ran off

DH off today as working saturday so he picked her up and she was so chuffed and teachers said she'd been fine phew hope it continues.

DH taken both the gorls out for the afternoon as I havent felt well since te weekend am permantley knackerd and feel sick (and the chances of me being pregnant are 1% as take my pill religiously) so am going to chill on sofa for a bit. Have been organised and menu planned this week so the beef stew and dumlings are in the slow cooker so I literally have nohing to do all afternoon.

My bday is 8th October 1979.

Can I have some advice from those with children at pre-school:

Luke will only be entitled to one year of preschool as his bday is in July. We cant really afford to put him in earlier but I am worried about the fact that he is at home with me and not socialising much (he goes to one toddler group a week). Are there any good/bad things about only having a year? I am worried about the fact that some children will be almost a year older than him.

Luke had pixie ears til ;he was about one. They were really pointy as if they didnt have cartlige in them. Lizz, a friend of mine's lo had very rubbery ears and they flopped down a bit. Sorted itself out when she was about one.

What does everyone's los drink their milk from? Ruth is refusing anything except a tommee tippee first cup but it is not big enough so it is a PITA. Any suggestions? I just tried another tmmee tippee one with a nuby no spill rubbery spout but she just chewed it!

LadyTophamHatt · 18/09/2007 17:04

Dh, not much time ATM but ds3 didn't start nursey until jan this yr, when he was 3.3 months.

No problems at all.

will go into it a little more later....

eandh · 18/09/2007 17:42

dh several children started ellie's school this week that turned 3 in the summer and they have all settled really quickly (advantage of being 3) but ellies infant school do two intakes and 99% of children from preschool go to this infant school.

Children born sept-march start in sept term (ie ellie is 5 on the 7th sept 2009 and will start school that sept so will be oldest in her class) then children that are 5 between march and august start in the january term so they get a little longer at pre school.

We only sent ellie to preschool at 2.6months because we had stopped going to toddler group and she missed having her 'playtime' also she was very very clingy and she has started to be less dependent on me now. Also we were lucky as il's pay half the preschool fees and the other half comes out of child benefit

Laughalot's little boy starts properly tomorrow and he is 3.2

forgot to say that godson is a end of july baby and he only did half days at his school from sept to oct as he was only 4.2 when he went also they used to have bean bags in the classroom so the younger ones who found the 9-3 a long day could snooze at lunchtime

JodieG1 · 18/09/2007 17:48

Shimmer · 18/09/2007 22:07

Evening all. Haven't had time to read all though i'm fraid. But wanted to say...
my birthday is 6 June 1979.

Vino i jus replied to your email.

RGee i just saw your post about P waving good-bye. So Cute!! I thought F did that the other day and got all excited when i saw my mum later and was all "ooohhh freddie waved at me!" and she said she'd seen him do it loads of times!?!? Felt a bit bad that praps he'd been waving for a while and I hadn't even noticed We will experiment again tomorrow and see if it is actually distinguishable from a random flap

Dragonhart · 18/09/2007 22:19

Sorry ment to say thanks to EAH and LTH for the advice. How hard is it to sort out which one to go to though!

annieapple7 · 18/09/2007 22:30

Hi everyone Annie apple here , lost touch for a while after becoming addicted to mumset and having to wean myself off. Just bumped into Wilkie on another thread and couldn't resist dropping in to check up on all you 8 month old-ishes. Will now probably get addicted again...

I think this is such a fab stage - everything seems to be happening at once, two teeth, crawling, and yes, I did get back into my skinny jeans today....but what to do with the large muffin top oozing over the top? Thank god for the smock!

VinoRouge · 19/09/2007 08:50

And Ellen is a waver too, seemed to pick it up when she went to nusrsery.

I'm supposed to be at work as I type but Ellen has cold sore type things at each corner of her mouth so waiting for our drs appt at 9.30. Pissed off that was the first one when I rang drs at 8.03 after it opened at 8. Hoping she is ok to go to nursery seeing as I had to have last weds off cos of conjunctivitis. She has not been well for the last week but I only picked her up from my mums last night.

Mum is going on hols so I have her car now til 8th Oct which for me is very exciting cos I usually rely on DH or the bus.

Lizz maybe next time I go to see my bro in Crawley we should make a date at treasure island! It sounds great fun!!

Tomorrow night my mate is coming to stay with 3 month dd who I have only seen once. Invited others for dinner so will have 6 adults and 2 babies. For lunch on Fri we have 5 adults 2 babies and 2 toddlers. Beginning to think it will be rather hectic.

eandh · 19/09/2007 08:57

Good luck at Drs Vino

I feel like screaming already and its only 8.50 - hattie was up at 4.50 and did not settle, put her back to bed at 7.30 she slept for 50minutes ellie dropped her plastic dolls house right outside hatties bedroom door and woke her up

ellie been up since 6.30 and has not stopped talking (about stupid random things)although currently she is hanging off my neck and saying 'luve you mummy' yhrough her snotty nose

I have got nephew from 10.30-3.30 as brothers g/f started new hours (last week of having him as I said I cant do new hours on tuesday when i normally have him bcause of preschool so he starts nursery 2 days a week next week) but its raining so we can't go anywhere without loads of hassle

Sorry rant over am now being screamed at that she NEEDS cbeebies on aaarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

VinoRouge · 19/09/2007 09:02

E&H you sound like you have your hands full today. Good luck!

Not raining here but its blumin cold. Could really do with some socks on I think.

eandh · 19/09/2007 09:22

I was just contemplating putting the heating on, ellie has long sleeved top and jeans on (and kept her socks on so must be cold as she hates socks!) and hattie has tights and skirt on as her feet were like ice blocks earlier. Am off to tescos in a mo before I have all 3 of them screaming at me I think a huge bar of chocolate and trashy magazine for me (although I'll end up sharing the choc and won't have a chance to read magazine )

laughalot · 19/09/2007 14:22

Well I cried I knew I would he looked so smart this morning took him into the class he hung his coat and bag on his peg then we have to take them into there class at this point he was still fine I bent down to kiss him and all hell broke loose MUMMMMMMMYYYYYY !!!!!!!!!!!! teacher took him off me. I walked outside sobbing and then text EAH who made me feel better. When I picked him up she said he had a good day but she thinks he was crying in temper because I left him just like his daddy .

ratfly · 19/09/2007 20:19

Hi everyone!

Just a quick catch-up after my 2 day working week. I can honestly say that teaching 30 5 year olds and SEN kids is soooooooooo much easier than looking after S at the mo.

whover it was (sorry, too damn lazy to look back over the thread) that said they wake up and think how the hell am I going to fill the next 12 hours - I know that feeling so well.

At the mo, S's day consists of crawling, chasing the dog, climbing me, pulling over ANYTHING he isn't allowed to, standing up, WANTING to stand but not able pull himself up, cruising, bouncing, walking holding onto me etc etc (no waving though) and it is SO tiring!!! And to make it worse, he won't nap for longer than 30 minutes - just long enough to make a cuppa. Just had 1 1/2 hours of him after work and I am now ready to drop.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!

If I'm not on mn tomorrow, you know why....
