And dairy-free too if needed.

It's not been the best month for a lot of Januaries has it?

Jodie - that's great news, congratulations! i'm thinking of training to be a peer supporter with the Breastfeeding Network, just need to find if they have a training person in my area! LLL are totally swamped, apparently. Who are you doing it with? well done though, will you volunteer in maternity units and stuff (this is my plan if the Trust accept me!)

JodieG1 · 12/09/2007 11:58

DH - we have a wii and we all love it too, it's fab

UD _ Bogey on pillow sounds lovely lol. I'm doing it with the ABM, hoping to carry on and do the full bf counsellor training and yes I would try and help out at maternity units, hv sessions at the drs and was thinking of starting a local group too. Ethan seems to have stopped his biting now after a few times, I think it was when his teeth were new and he didn't realised he could hurt me.

LTH - you'll love the wii. The wii fitness should be coming out soon and that will make it even better.

Kat - nope with the wii most games are suitable for children my dd and ds1 love playing it.

VinoRouge · 12/09/2007 19:36

Obviously I am missing out on the world of wii! Dh not interested in stuff like that and no small boys in the family....

E has conjunctivitis so had to take the day off work today - what a shame!! Nursery told me I had to take her to the drs cos her eyes were all gunky. Dr didn;t prescribe anything cos no gunk coming out today but nursery wouldn't have her. She has slept loads today so hopefully she's sleeping herself better.

My next door but one neighbours have sold their house in less than a week. I am peeved about it cos ours has been on sale for nearly a month now. LTH pass me your 'first viewer buys the house' vibes please

Jodie - congrats on the peer suporter role. I've thought about it too and if my HV set up a BF group in my area I will def help out but I'm to busy for my own life at the mo let alone starting something else. UD I can imagine you stalking the wards of your local hopsital looking for mums who need help!!

E has 2 top and 2 bottom teeth but is still dribbling TONS. We are getting through a lot of bibs these days.

Dragonhart · 12/09/2007 20:04

I love it when they laugh like that LTH! Was in the kitchen today and I heard LUke and Ruth absolutly pissing themselves in the lounge so looked up to see Luke lying accross Ruth's tummy! Had one of those moments when all you want to do is laugh but oviously he cant do that so had to tell him not to do it while trying to keep a big grin off my face.

Jodie, that is great news, but will it affect your plans of going to live abroad or is that all on hold (sorry if I missed any news).

Vino- Poor E! Hope her eyes are better after resting them all day. That would really hack me off too if someone else sold quicker than me. Hope your sells soon.

Canmummy- Hope you are feeling better now and not missing work too much.

2happy- Where are you? Hope you are ok too.

Ruth drank 150ml of formula today with no fuss at all. Glugged it down so guess she has decided that formula is not so bad.

Appart from that no news. Went to the library. Went to the shop.

Lizzzombie · 13/09/2007 09:14

Hi all....
Good luck Jodie, that sounds fab.

OmG...DJ can stand up. I just got the shock of my life! He had pulled himself up in his cot and was just standing up against it. I am so pleased we lowered the sides a couple of weeks ago!

Also, if anyone is interested, we brought one of these yesterday. Went down very well.

Hope you are all well xxx

JodieG1 · 13/09/2007 13:01

Vino - I'd get one just for you hehe!

DH - Plans put on hold for now, trying to work on my own business too still.

Liz - it's funny when they start standing up, next step walking!

had our appt with the allerist today and it went well. Ethan showed up as a mild allergy only and it looks like the reaction he had at the hotel was due to the scrambled egg being runny still (and not cooked like I had cooked them which is why he didn't react before), he said I can start giving him food with eggs in, just small amounts at first, and then see what happens. If no reaction then carry on and try him on scrambled egg etc in a few months time. No runny egg until he's at least 2 though and if any more reaction in the mean time then they'll see us again. He said just to give puriton if he ahs another reaction and that further reactions wouldn't get worse. So I'm going to bake some muffins later/tomorrow and see how we get on!

Lizzzombie · 13/09/2007 17:36

Ok, I am either hugely creative or have lost my marbles.
This afternoon I decided that I was bored ridgid of making towers of bricks and LO knocking them down or of rolling a ball backwards and forwards or of banging plastic things together loudly, so I put all my cushions on the floor, covered them with baby blankets, crawling mats, scarves etc, and then showed LO how to "bundle" ie. throw yourself onto them from a sitting position. Great fun for babies and adults alike. He is now sat on the floor and everynow and then rolls/throws himself onto the pile and bleurts out the baby equivilant of "bundle!"

And yes, I did have a large glass of wine at lunchtime!

Jodie - walking...far too scary! What has happend to my little tiny baby?!

VinoRouge · 13/09/2007 18:29

OMG Liz walking !!!! Although I guess not as much bending down as needing to pick them up when crawling where they shouldn't be...

Had a big sort out of our paperwork today so been shredding for Britain

We are off to a wedding this weekend so staying with a friend tomorrow night and a travel lodge on sat night.

Ellen's eyes much better today but her nose streaming so combined with her abundance of dribble means she has been soaking bibs faster than a newborn gets through nappies.

DH I feel a bit like you...not really been up to much today at all. Rang my boss about a letter he had written me about my hours and ended up crying on the phone so felt a wally.

Lizzzombie · 13/09/2007 19:33

vino...no no no no! LO is definately not walking yet! I meant, that its scary that it won't be long till our little babies are walking. Although I reckon by the sound of it Wilkie's J will be the first!
Maybe we should take bets!!!

theUrbanDryad · 13/09/2007 20:11

doesn't J walk already? i could be mistaken. Z seems intent on launching himself headfirst into the fireplace, so come payday i think we'll be buying a fireguard!

we're off to Surrey tomorrow to see the inlaws, and hopefully see LTH (even though you ignored didn't talk to me last night on MSN.

VinoRouge · 13/09/2007 20:23

UD - Ellen always want to jump into the fire so I have just been looking at fireguards online. Such a boring purchase though....

VinoRouge · 13/09/2007 20:24

I wonder how Wilkie and E&H's hols are going - nice weather for them isn't it???

geoRGEEweasley · 13/09/2007 20:57

Hi all.

Great weather for hols

UD have a nice day tomorrow
Lizz wine at lunchtime?? Whatever next?? Chocolate for breakfast....nom nom
Vino What did the letter from your lovely company say? Have a great weekend btw.
Dragon I love hearing lo's giggle Am amazed you managed to keep a straight face.

Pauses whilst minor mouse rescue mission is completed. Thank you cat.

Jodie glad you got on the course. When does it start?

Hello to everyone else. Yeah - where is 2H?? This going back to work is rubbish. Everyone's disappeared.

JodieG1 · 13/09/2007 21:02

Rgee - I'm being emailed the first module and need to take it from there, instructions will come with that.

I don't think Ethan will be long walking as he's already cruising around the furniture and stands up everywhere. He always stands up and then lets go with one hand and rocks a little lol, he's stood up alone for a few seconds as well but then sat down on his bum. My ds1 was walking at 9 months so I'm wondering if Ethan will be the same. He was 8 months on the 11th, wish he'd stay a little baby for longer as he's definitely our last

Dragonhart · 13/09/2007 21:21

I am really having to supress my competative mother urges re all this movement! Ruth cant even sit for longer than afew seconds let alone pull her self up! She seems content to lie on her back, lift her hips up and push her legs against the ground to slide around in a circle!

Lizz, you reminded me of how much time I used to spend occupying Luke! Poor Ruth gets dumped on the floor/play pen (for her own protection!)/bumbo while I get things done. Maybe that is why she is not moving!?

Jodie- glad it was good news from the allergist. When Luke had his reaction to something in the garden it was so scary then on top of that he had a reaction to the Piriton which NHS Direct told me to give him! Not a good night!

Vino- Have a good time at the Wedding. How many is that now?

Urban- We have a fireguard as our fire has really pointy bits on it. It is screwed to the wall v securely as Luke managed to pull it off the wall with the flimsy screws and clips that came with it!

Lizzzombie · 14/09/2007 08:32

UD - can't belive you are going to meet up with LTH and not with me! Rudeness!!!
Have a safe trip.

Dh - Is Ruth talking yet? DJ can speak esperanto really well

Rgee - chocolate for breakfast is normal. Its the law. In fact it tastes better for breakfast!

canmummy · 14/09/2007 09:01

Morning everyone! I've repaired my laptop so can happily sit here talking to you lot again! (It involved taking the back off and shoving a screwdriver in at the same time as connecting the power cable which was a slightly hair-raising moment )

Lo isn't moving much but can go round in circles when laid on her front. I'm very impressed with the teaching lo's to build towers - I'm with DH on this and dump her down while I get on and just smile at her every now and then!!

I'm debating whether to put rice/soya milk on lo's cereal in a morning as there is no way I can express enough milk for cereal and no word yet from the dietician. Might ask on the allergy forum as breakfast is really hard.

She's at nursery now which she seems to be settling into now. I worry about them giving her milk by accident, on her 2nd day they'd written down she'd had cheese for dinner - I was livid but they admitted they'd just copied off the menu and of course she hadn't. It helps there's another baby there who has a problem with cows milk so I think they have to be careful with bith of them.

So today I plan to have a rest as I did far too much yesterday and my stomach muscles feel as though I've done 100 sit-ups and they're about to split apart! I've just started on a distance learning course too so I hope to get some time to start looking at that. (and I'll no doubt spend far too much time on here )

LadyTophamHatt · 14/09/2007 09:03

I have the whole UD family coming to my house Lizzz, so ner ner ner ner ner

don't tell UD this but I think shes stalking me....I logged into MSN and there is was, questioning me. I think shes a bit wierd or summint.

Ohh Hi Ud, didn't see you there

Ohhhhh I'm so funny.

Really looking forward to it UD, I'm even thinking of hoovering before you arrive...thats how much I'm looking forward to it!

LadyTophamHatt · 14/09/2007 09:08

LIzz ds4 does that baby bundle thing all the time.

I keep trying to film him, but as soon as he hear the "beep-beep" of the camera coming on he flings himself over before I can getthe movie thing working.

None of my others have been this "clever" at this age. Genuinely he knows what the "beep-beep" means and looks at me with his cheeky little face and flings himself. Its hilarous

I've obviously got a genius on my hands.

right better dash, ds3 has nursery and I've goto to shopping.

theUrbanDryad · 14/09/2007 09:16

hoovering?? i'm unimpressed honoured!!

Lizzzombie · 14/09/2007 14:46

its'not fair.
no one visits me.
i'm going to eat worms!

LTH - you have to tell me about UD on Tuesday night!

My LO is plauing in the corner of the room facing the wall at the moment. I swear I didnt put him there. It looks very odd. I am thinking I have the opposite to a child genuis!

Lizzzombie · 14/09/2007 14:47

i've never seen this function before !

geoRGEEweasley · 14/09/2007 17:54

Lizz no-one visits you because you eat worms

Wilkie · 14/09/2007 18:33

Aloha!!! I'm back........totally chilled out and relaxed. BLISS!!!

Have skim read your ramblings but can't be bothered to do a long list of personals (sorry) .

Lizz - your link to the tube made me laugh cos we had literally been out and purchased the same thing from ELC for £18!!!!!! Am taking back and getting the Argos one [cheapskate mum emoticon]

Meant to say, you can register free at ELC for the birthday club (up to 6 years old), to get a goodie bag sent to LO every birthday! FREE!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice one.

UD - J is walking with his push along walker but not alone yet, he will walk holding one hand with you but hasn't yet got the confidence to do it completely alone.

Also, agree re top teeth - the feckers STILL haven't come through - 4 weeks and counting!!!!!!!!!!

Jodie - glad Ethan doesn't have severe allergy to egg!!! Great news.

DH - pleased Ruth is getting on with FF although please quote oz rather than ml. Confuses my head

Vino - what happened with your boss?!?!?!?!

Will upload some photos of hols later - I definately have a water baby on my hands

Wilkie · 14/09/2007 19:42

I'm a good girl and have done a link to the ELC Birthday Club
