Hi ladies

Not been on for a few days as Pipex have discovered we have not been paying for our internet access (it is complicated with DH's work) and suspended our account - whoops!

Thanks for all your well wishes for Josh. The poor lamb is still not 100% right. The rash has gone (only lasted 24 hours) but he has just not been himself and is still puking once a day-ish! He is so grouchy, grumpy and clingy aswell so I guess he is still not feeling right - again the leaflet did say that babies can be irritable on and off for 4 weeks after the jab so I hope it is just that. Dare I say it was actually a relief to drop him off at nursery this morning just to escape the constant whinging? Also, those of you whose lo's are about to have the MMR jab, don't let this put you off as I believe most babies are absolutely fine.

Will catch up on everyone's messages tonight as really need to go and do some work - hopefully DH will have sorted out our internet access and paid the bill!

Hope you are all ok x

kbaby · 05/09/2007 11:50

Well I finally got a pair of shoes on him by holding his leg and just ignoring the screams and the stares and to top it all I got his hair cut which wasn?t that much different from your experience sss, I clamped his arms by his side. Needless to say its not the most nicest of haircuts. I prefer bare feet on babies but used to put soft shoes on ds when I knew he would be cruising or holding my hand walking ie down the park . I love the sight of their fat chubby feet so kissable!

On another subject completely I just found a sticker of some grapes in DS poo! Lovely.

Ds has taken it upon himself to wake screaming from 1am to 3am every night this week. If you go in his room and cuddle/stroke or whatever else hes fine but the minute you leave he kicks off big time. Last night I just gave up after 1hr and left him crying. Felt terrible but I cant sit there tapping his back all night.

Went to a body conditioning class on Mon night and I am still aching, ow how my thighs hurt.

Twinkle I hope the move is going well.
Hc- Sorry about the horse, I felt quite sad reading your message. Bless him.
Well done sophie.
SSS- I have a spa day booked for 23rd sept with 2 gf and were staying overnight so I cant wait.

Ps a picture of DD in her 1st ever uniform, she starts nursery school on Monday. How 3 yrs have flown by. www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=16996224&uid=9277295

sloaneranger · 05/09/2007 14:55

k baby - I noticed bits of polystyrene in my dd's poo once - I think this is slightly more alarming than a sticker.

Hc - congrats on your little milestone today

very short post as I have to go shopping.

Oh just a quick question for all of you - do aall your babies nap in the aafternoon? dd woke at 5.30 this morning I think because she was cold so I have bought her more baabygrows and vests today. Is aanyon ehere using reusable nappies? I am but we have a water meter here which maakes it aa bit more difficult to be eco.

aaaaa trouble again - there certainly won't be aany point in name cahanging.

bye!

sloaneranger · 05/09/2007 15:02

another thought though really must go out. I painted my finger naails yesterdaay a beautiful rouge noirey colour. One day later it is chipped from all my household chores. I quite like wearing nail vaarnish as I think it implies thaat I am aa lady of leisure with time on my haands. However I aam sure if people see the baby my cover will be blown. I need to get some sort of quick dry hardener stuff, does anyone have aany recommendations?

I shan't start a thread on this aas I don't want to get involved in a nasty debate .... well you never know!!! I might be percieved a baad mother for spending time manicuring when I should be digging the gaarden for my organic vegetables etc.

jacobandlysette · 05/09/2007 16:47

cb glad to hear he is a little better xxxx

hc great news on the pulling up! she'll be off in no time now!

sloaneranger you bad bad bad bad lady - the best nail hardener I have found is a sally hansen spray - it dries them in double quick time and if you spray it along the end of the nail it helps stop them chipping!

well after thinking i was going to have a fight on my hands i called the booking office this morning and was offered an early booking appointment next tuesday! brill service, so fingers crossed it continues like that!

Wallace · 05/09/2007 19:30

HC - is emma looking forward to school? She seems so young - in Scotland she wouldn't be starting til next August!

lysette - excellent news on appt!

anniw - tube sounds a nightnare. I couldn't live in a city now, I'm so countrified!

ceebee - I might put off leo's mmr for a bit

kababy - really sweet photo they always look so tiny in uniform. a t grape stcker.

sloane - leo naps for 2 hours if I am lucky. He went through a stage of waking at 5am too - good luckk! I use reusable nappies. Strated off with fuzzi bunz pocket nappies, but he grew out of those, so now use good old fashioned terries.

Beadmum · 05/09/2007 21:46

hi everyone

not been on for ages but have read through posts but will take me forever to reply individually so apologies but i have read them all

charlottes been taking a few steps every day and has started saying 'herrow' on her toy phone and 'hiya' constantly to everyone. Says 'ta' all the time too, even if shes having a whinge and you hand her her cup or snack, she immediately smiles and says ta, makes me

my mum was visiting at the weekend which i used to really enjoy but she seems quite distant these days. She will mostly ignore me and not reply while i think we're having a conversation if charlotte is around (all her attention on charlotte). Yet she seems normal if charlotte is away for a nap or even chatting on the phone. Finding it all very strange, dont know if its just me being selfish to want some attention

have a good evening ladies xx

MaeWest · 06/09/2007 11:49

I think my boy is finally sleeping through... He even seems to have knocked the 5am starts on the head . Was almost late getting him to the childminders today as he didn't wake up until 7am!!!!! He sleeps for about 2 hrs in the day, usually in one big nap in the morning, but yesterday with DH he did an hour in the morning then went down after lunch for another hr. I've decided to go free range with the naps and just put him in his cot if he looks tired, seems to be working so far.

Someone asked about reusables (sloane?). We use them part time (disps at night and now at childminders) and I'm a lazy mama and use a laundry, so no washing for me. However, nappy changes becoming such a nightmare that it's getting increasingly difficult to get the bloody things on him (wraps and prefolds). Think wallace uses them?

Anyhoo, better get back to work...

HumphreysCorner · 06/09/2007 17:08

Hello all

Had a home visit from the school this morning-seems so final now that Em is actually going to school on Monday.

Off out tonight to my ex Manager's leaving do. The Bank have done the dirty on her so going to wish her well in her new 'role' in her new Branch.

Love to all, off to get ready.

HC do you have a hangover this morning?????

spin good luck with all your arrangements!and your ILs and chi starting school!

not much to report here - i am trying to be frugal and looked at the credit card statement online today and there was loads of stuff for DH on there! we manged to get him a rugby world cup final ticket £358 though...., but it would be a lot more if NZ make it to the final and he bought one just before the final i suppose

anyway, it's really sunny here but quite humid.

O'h and I almost forgot! Jacob was weighed yesterday and was 9.58kg, so 21lb 2. he's gone from 11th centile to 24th centile in 6 weeks so very pleased

Twinklemegan · 07/09/2007 19:37

Hello. Just dropping in quickly to say that I won't have internet access at home until we move into our new place proper at the beginning of October. I'll try to get on from time to time but won't be around much. In the final throws of packing - aaaargh! Speak to you all soon. xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 07/09/2007 19:59

Good luck Twink.

Toby took his first two consecutive steps this evening, on the landing before bath from me to DH. So exciting and so glad we were both there to witness it as we both missed H's. My baby!! {grin]

OP posts:
ceebee74 · 07/09/2007 20:28

Just a quickie.

Hope the move goes well Twinkle and good luck in your new surroundings. Make sure you do come back won't you?

Bloss - well done Toby! Me and Dh were both there for Josh's first steps and it was lovely (even though that was about 6 weeks ago now and he doesn't seem to have progressed from there )

Lysette - glad everything went well at the docs. Am still SO excited for you, DH and Josh's virtual twinnie! Have you any ideas on names yet or are you not thinking that far ahead? (Says me who already has my names planned and I am not even pg )

Spin - you sound so busy but you always seem so serene despite what you have going on. Hope everything is still going ok.

Well, it is 12 months to the day that Josh had his operation and I feel quite sad today - I guess it affected me more than I thought as I can't stop thinking about it and wondering what if...., should we have taken him to hospital sooner etc. I think the date is just bringing back bad memories today.

On a lighter note, Josh was starting to outgrow his 6-9 babygros so being a tight arse, I decided to skip 9-12 month ones and go straight to 12-18 month ones which are ridiculously large on him. Anyway, 2 mornings this week, when I unzipped his grobag, he has managed to turn himself into a mermaid and got both legs shoved down one leg in the babygro - very funny and I have no idea how he has done it or managed to continue sleeping with it like that!

Also, I am pleased to say that my lovely, happy, cheery boy is back at last - yippee! It has taken until today for him to return to normal but it is so nice without the whinging and crying - even nursery commented today about how happy he had been.

Anyway, enough about my stuff - hope you are all having a good Friday night x

Wallace · 07/09/2007 20:39

not time for a proper catch up but,

Well done toby

maewest - hooray - a full nights sleep

Spin - good lucj to chi for school xxx

lysette - on weight gain (jacobs not yours )

good luck twink xxx

ceebee - completely normal to dwell on Josh's operation. Dd had heart surgery almost 5 years ago, and we still think about it alot, and remember the anniversary xxx

beadmum - whoops missed your post. I feel like that sometimes whne I visit my mum with the kids and I want to chat with her, but she gives the kids all the attention...

kbaby · 07/09/2007 21:42

Arghh! James is still waking every night from 12.15 onwards. He wakes up just screaming and breaking his heart. I have absolutely no idea whats causing it and even though I cuddle him when I put him back in his cot he cries again. I am so tired and to top it all when he finally did settle last night I couldn?t sleep.

Hes started woofing if he hears a dog or you ask him and hes finally worked out how to get to a standing position from just sitting on the floor without anything to pull up on. Still not saying much else though other than mam,dad and look

Sloane- The best thing for keeping nail vanish tidy is maybeline shine. Its clear and makes them really glossy. I use it on my toes.

HC- How do you get a home visit from the school? Ive had to chase ours to find out what time DD even starts, crap really.

Well done Toby

Im making the most of the rugby world cup as it means DH is so engrossed in the rugby he doesn?t care what I do.
Off to get my hair done tomorrow as hes in the pub Sunday watching rugby so cant dare complain about me going.

prettymum · 07/09/2007 21:45

evening ladies!!!

just a quickie again!! finally took junior to hv, hes weighing at 24lb and need to take him back for his mmr next month as they had to give him a different one that was due at 12 months.

ive been driving about a lot and loving it! dd is becoming obsessed with shopping! all she wants to do now is go in mummys car and go shopping!

gonna get off and get on with my book, so goodnight everyone xx

HumphreysCorner · 08/09/2007 15:44

Hi all

Well, have got Em's uniform all ready for the big day on Monday here She is so excited. Our school insists on a home visit and we had a parents meeting at the school last term.

Did not get drunk on my night out as I was driving. It was an OK ish evening but felt a tad left out when they all started talking about work. My ex Manager wanted to draw a new contract up there and then for her new Branch and the old Branch were quite keen but I'm not ready yet.

Ceebee-bless Josh.

Bloss-clever Toby, he'll be slim Jim in no time with all the walking. Am trying not to miss Sophie's first steps like I did Em's.

Glad all the teeny ones are growing (apart) from Sophie. Measures Em and she is not even 1 metre tall yet.

I think we are all busy at the mo-so much to do it seems.

Have a good weekend. Off to a Caravan Extravaganza near Hull tomorrow.

Love to all

maewest - good luck with the naps, i found that was the easiest way, only put dd down if she seems tired otherwise dont bother anymore.

lysette - good news re jacobs weight, i think thats the same weight as charlotte but its been so long since ive been to hv

twinkle - good luck with the move to sunny scotland (not being sarcastic about it being sunny, it has actually been very sunny here this week)

bloss - congrats to toby for his steps, no stopping him now

ceebee - so glad josh is better, must have been a terrible time for you all, poor little mite

wallace - thanks for your reply re mums. guess i'll just have to get used to it, must be because im an only child and my mum and i are very close, things just arent the same anymore which i miss

kbaby - hope the sleeping improves soon, charlotte does the woofing too especially when we're out and she sees a dog, i hear her woofing before ive even noticed a dog in the park/street

hi prettymum

hc - em looks very adoreable and angelic in her uniform, enjoy your caravan day tomorrow

im feeling a bit lost today, il's have picked up charlotte early, they are keeping her overnight tonight while dh and i go to friends for dinner. dh is at work so i was going to go to the gym but decided to enjoy empty house and chill out, been pottering around.

still waiting for charlottes mmr appt, phoned hv few weeks ago as hadnt received it and she said they were catching up on schoolage boosters over holidays so are behind, shes still not had her 12 month booster yet either. just want to get them over and done with, also dh and i are off on our holiday to paris in just over a week and dont want to have her appt while we're away, looks like we'll be back and still waiting though

have a lovely weekend everyone xx

ImpyChica · 08/09/2007 16:32

Hi everyone!

Thanks again K/SSS for all the camera info - you are a star. Good luck with all the moving preps - it was stressful enough for us going from London to Madrid (without any kids) - I can't imagine how intense it must be for you. It'll be worth it when you're all there though!

Junior sounds like he's coming on a storm, Pretty!

Hi Annie - your anniversary sounded lovely - ah! Glad Herbie's finally arrived - sorry he's already falling apart! Hope he pulls himself together to give you and the babies lots of lovely family outings. Grr at the tube strike palaver!

Wallace - Ry Pie is crazy about red buses and motorbikes (and his willy come to think of it!) - you try not to gender-specify them but it's written into their little genes! CONGRATS on the race - you are amazing.

Hope Tobes gets on alright at the creche, Bloss. Ryan went back this week to nursery - and he cried every day . It's amazing how he seems to have forgotten about it after having a month off - big separation anxiety going on, poor chap. I welled up myself on Monday but by Thurs I was like "enough with the amateur dramatics Mister!" Well done on walking too, Tobster!

So pleased your getting such thorough checking Lysette - are you still feeling ok?

HC - go Sophie go!!! Lovey pic of Em in uniform. They start school at THREE here - I'm dreading it! My mate's little boy starts this week and he's 3 in November! It's way too young....

CB - I never realised little Josh had surgery. You poor things - must have been terrifying. So glad he's ok now - and over his bug. {{{{{hugs}}}}}

kbaby - lovely pic of your girl too! I took Ryan to the hairdressers as well - his mullet was getting seriously out of hand - I'd tried hacking away at it and it was just a lob-sided mess.... two hairdressers worked on him - one to distract him and the other to chop away! Came out alright in the end, bless! Hope your ds's night wakings have finished. Ryan did that the other night too - think the wind was howling outside his window and freaked him out, took ages to calm him down.

Slone - Ry has naps in the afternoon and morning usually.

Sorry your mum did your head in Bead! Charlotte just must be the main attraction in your house! I'm sure she doesn't mean to ignore you - maybe try talking to her about it?

Good luck with the move Twinkle!!!

All fine in the Impy household. All seems v quiet now all the grandparents visits are over - Ryan had such a lovely time with them, guess it's not surprising that he's not mega keen on going back to nursery. And - que sorpresa - he's already got a cold - after only 5 days back. Grizzle. Oh well, toughens up their immune systems etc etc... Have cut down to bfing just in the mornings now, was going to cut down completely, but since that coincided with him going back to nursery, thought it would be a bit too much of a shock for him. I'm sure he'll be walking soon, and I bet he'll do his first steps at nursery but there you go!

Well hope you're all having good weekends. Hugs all round Impy xxx
