Hi Girls

Blimey - don't know where the time's going!! Even though it's quieter at work I still don't seem to have any time, MIL been staying for last few days, we've been away weekends etc.

Emma's fine, seems to have changed loads even just in the last couple of weeks. Gained in confidence loads with standing and pushing things along, had a few moments of unsupported standing but no walking yet. Tantrums galore though! We're going to have to get a stairgate at the bottom of the stairs (still haven't got one, I've been trying to keep her confined to one room at a time, but fighting a losing battle what with the dog and her magical door opening abilities) and Emma just moves about in a flash now, practically leaving a trail of smoke behind her.

Her word patterns are odd (not that I know much about these things), she seems to grasp 'social' words like hello, bye bye, oh dear, all gone and says them all the time - but not the least bit interested in nouns or names.

I've been keeping up with posts but will have to stop and do some internet searches for stair gates (yawn), so hope everyone's having a nice weekend (can you believe this nice weather ) - will catch up properly soon. xxx

Evening ladeez. Sitting here with wine and crisps, is it me or are there more Hula Hoops in a packet these days?

Had a faberoonie day out shopping sans kids with a friend today, spent a ruddy fortune, it was so cool, Dh had the boys, and we got back in time to for him to go to the pub to watch the footie too. Shame he has got drunk and been an arsehole since then, but hey, can't win em all.

HC - Emma looks like a total angel in the photo. Gorge pic.

Sloane - Toby sleeps 9am for an hour and about 3ish for about an hour. And bolocks to those that look down on manicures, I do my nails at least twice a week, much to DH's disgust ("I don't like the smell"), I find that ironically the cheaper nail varnishes chip the least, Tescos's own polishes are good.

Bought some gorge clothes for the boys in Next today, not that they need them but I get as much plasure buying clothes for them as I do for myself!

I'm sure there's loads I should be saying to you all, but logging off now. Have just managed to find hiding places for a pile of presents wrapped in Bob the Builder paper for H's birthday on Tuesday, I can't beleive my boy will be three, have to attempt a cake on Monday, eek! And he starts school on Monday, all the milestones coming at once!

Evening ladies.

Sloane ? meant to say in my last post that Josh tends to only have 1 nap a day now (usually for at least an hour between 9-11am). Occasionally if he is looking really tired in the afternoon, he will have another one. As for nail varnishes, I am a bit of Nails Inc fan at the moment (don?t do anything cheap you know ) ? seems to stay chip free for a few days anyway.

Kbaby ? Well done James with the woofing ? most Josh does when he sees a dog is get very excited and point!

HC ? Em looks so grown up in her uniform ? good luck to her (and you) tomorrow x

Bloss ? I also love shopping for clothes for Josh ? didn?t think I would as I am a very girly girl and had no interest in boys clothes. But am a bit peed off as he has just gone into 9-12 months tops so everything he wears at the moment is new ? went to nursery in a new white t-shirt and came home with it covered in tomato sauce ? have washed it but it is still stained . Doesn?t even look like they made an attempt to use a bib.

Josh finally has a word??.hiya. I have no idea where he has learnt it as me and Dh don?t say it but who cares ? it is a recognisable word at last.

I am also quite worried that he seems to think James Blunt is my brother ? my brother does bear a striking resemblance to James Blunt and whenever the video comes on the tv, Josh gets very excited, points at the screen and sits mesmerised until the song finishes. So either he does genuinely think it is his uncle or he is a James Blunt fan

Anyway, have a good evening all x

ceebee74 · 09/09/2007 21:32

Ooh forgot the most exciting bit of news....now I know this nothing compared to what Wallace has achieved but I ran (well jogged) for 15 minutes non-stop at the gym today. I am so chuffed as I hate running and find it hard but I did 45 minutes on the treadmill in total - 15 minutes walking up a hill, then 15 minutes jogging, then 15 minutes walking up a hill again.

I thought I would try and jog for as long as I could and it felt ok so I just carried on. Am really pleased that my fitness seems to be as good, if not better, than before I got pg.

And then I am going to ruin it all by getting pg again (fingers crossed )

kbaby · 09/09/2007 22:38

HC- She looks lovely

Bloss- Its me by the way on facebook

Cebee- I think I may have said this before but cant remember, just out the t shirt on the line, The sun will fade tomato and babay food stains completely.

We spent today at an indoor play centre. Ds loved roaming about and I found DD in a side room joining in with a birthdays party musical chairs[shy] she was quite put out when I said she had to leave.

Off to bed now and wake up DH who has crashed out on the settee after an exhausting day spent in the pub watching the rugby.

morning ladies

impy - how fab of the hairdressers to do that, have 2 so to distract while cutting. i took charlotte for first haircut last week and wasnt great but the girl did get it trimmed. charlotte was quite tired which didnt help though.

first - sounds like emma is keeping you on your toes charlotte only uses words like 'hiya', 'ta', no names here either.

bloss - your day out shopping sounded fab

ceebee - i thought it was odd as charlotte has started saying 'hiya' too and neither dh or i say it, also she is mainly with me and not at nursery so nowhere else i can think of shes heard it. very strange congrats on your running, im in awe of anyone who does it as all i can manage on the treadmill is brisk walking

kbaby - at dd joining in on birthday party, have to agree about your tip of washing on the line, sun is best stain blaster there is

spin - you must be so snowed under, great news about the p&t. im amazed at what some people pay for things on ebay sometimes.

lovely day here again today, dd just awake so better go and get her out of her cot as shes now sounding impatient.

have a great day everyone xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 10/09/2007 10:11

Morning all

Well, have taken Em to school. She kept running so asked her to walk, she ignored this and fell over scuffing her knee and new shoes so consequently arrived at school yelling. Luckily, the little (well, bigger than Em) that looked after her for the morning last term was waiting for Em so took her into the toilet and bathed her knee with a paper towel. I left as couldn't bear to hang around today until the bell went.

Dad rang earlier to say the cat had disappeared just as they were taking him to the cattery so have got to go and feed him tonight then go in the morning and try and catch him and take him to the cattery. Mum and dad are away until Friday.

Went to the caravan show yesterday and FIL did a deal on a lovely caravan for us and SIL to share. It isn't what DH wanted so he is miffed a tad. It has bunk beds which is perfect for the girls but he wanted a fixed bed which, although is lovely, is not right for us at the present time. So he has taken the shine off my excitement. It is coming in Feb 2008 as it is a new model so perhaps then he might be more grateful.

Stress stress stress !

ceebee-well done matey on your running. I just can't 'do' exercise so good on you and keep it up! Titter at the James Blunt thing-love 1973 BTW. Clever Josj Have decided to come off the pill in December and chart my temperature for 6 months then start TTC in May/June time. Got to fill the 6 berth caravan somehow.

spin-good luck with the house. Fingers crossed. Ebay is fantastico!!!

kbay-lol! Found Em once sat in a circle playing pass the parcel at somebody elses party. Looking back I can see how she wouldn't know it was wrong.

Bloss-glad you had a brill day. Feel the time is right now to start having time out from the girls. Now Em is at school shall be leaving Sophie with grandparents sometimes.

Impy-gosh, isn't 3 very young for school? Glad things have turned more peaceful in the Impy house.

pretty-you will be a driving expert. Go girl!

Had better go and do some housework. Hard to concentrate as my stomach is churning worrying about Em. Anyway, love to all.

Bloss- I cant believe he says so much.

DD starts nursey school at 1pm. She wants to go now and isn?t happy about having to wait. I don?t think shell be too keen when she realises I have to leave her there. Its so emotional leaving her, shes growing so quickly. Atm she has a toy rabbit up her PJ top who is going to be born in 3 weeks time but is now having milk out of her booby??

HC- our cat managed to jump out of the box mil was carrying right out side of the vets door, she run across 2 main roads and me and DH spent the day and night wandering about the area by the vets calling her. She eventually came when she heard the engine on DH car. Im sure they know that theyre going somewhere and just think buggar that!.

AnnieOleHouseElf · 10/09/2007 16:57

Hi Girls
Just a quickie before I head back to the war zone. Hardly any sleep these nights, with little Miss Scratchy Teethy.
She has lots of words:
chair,
shoe,
hat,
hot hot hot (cup of tea),
bye bye,
all gone
poon (spoon)
maah (milk)
woof woof,
fah fah (butterfly),accompanied by flapping hands,
mmmm (when eating)
poo poo (when she climbs on the potty next to me doing a wee)
and monkey noises.
And what seems to be Thank You when she gives me things (everything...). I'm sure there's more, but her favourite it a very adamant NO, and Oh no at every opportunity.
So some hilarious moments...

Joey is starting nursery tomorrow
I get to miss our lab meeting

kbaby, hope your dd enjoyed nursery!
HC, hope Em enjoyed her first day at school. She looks adorable in that photo.

Ceebee well done you, running like that!
[note to self - must go swimming]

Better go girls!
Have a good evening
Hi to everyone

ceebee74 · 10/09/2007 19:25

Kbaby - thanks for the tip about the tomato sauce. The t-shirt has been on the line all day today and the stains have almost gone already - fantastic!

Annie/Bloss at how many words your lo's have - and here is me getting excited cos Josh has said his first one.

HC - let us know how Em got on - I bet she had a ball

I need you all to wish me luck tomorrow - am babysitting my nephew and 2 nieces after school and I am not very confident at all - particularly as me and Josh will be at my sisters house which is not baby-proofed so I will have to keep a double eye on Josh aswell as the 3 others.

Morning all

Em got on fine at school (at least I think so). She told DH that somebody hit her so she hit them back but she never told me that. However, she told me that nobody spoke or played with her which is obviously a blatant lie. She cam home and sat down with me to play Harry Potter on the Playstation and I turned round and she was fast asleep-bless. Have got to send her in fancy dress as a book character on 1st October. Panic, panic! There is also a Macmillan coffee morning soon so I can hopefully chat to other mums as they all stand chatting and seem to know each other. Did try talking to some this morning but still feel a tad alienated.

Had to leave Em and Sophie with MIL last night to go slimming. Managed to catch mum and dad's cat and deliver him hissing and biting to the cattery. Anyway, Em told me this morning that she had sat Sophie on the potty and said it was time to start potty training her?????????????? She is only 14 months. Had all this with Em which did my head in and Em only did it at 2.5 when she was ready!

Have a sore throat from hell-just won't bugger off. GRRRHHH!!! Have to keep drinking to help me swallow.

Am waffling again so have a good day girls.

MaeWest · 11/09/2007 12:08

HC - think the early potty training is a generational thing, but surely all that would happen at this stage is 'catching' as baby is too young? I did sit DS on a potty at my mum's a few weeks ago as we were out in the garden and he was sans nappy. He sat there very seriously for a couple of mins before crawling off - give him a board book and he could be just like his dad .

Had to deal with a truly revolting squirt through the leg hole shitty nappy this morning. Just as we were about to leave for the childminder... yuk

Have just heard that 2 of my NCT group are pg again, due in Feb/Mar. Feeling a touch broody myself, but have promised myself a good night out for my 30th birthday next Feb, so don't want to be up the duff then. If someone could come and tell me the perfect age gap, that would be fab...

Maewest-we started TTC when Em was 18 months and fell PG 3 months later which would given us a 2 yrs and 5 month gap. Sadly MC then fell PG 4 months later with Sophie so we ended up with 3 weeks short of 3 yrs. It was nice to get Em potty trained before Sophie was born. In should think there will be nearly 3 again between Sophie and number 3. There is 4 yrs and 4 months between me and my elder bro which was OK when he was younger but didn't want to bother with me so much when he got older.

I don't suppose there is that perfect age gap.

spin-good old Roshi Sophie wasn't doing half of what she should have been doing at her 1 year check up. Have just measured Sophie and she is 73cm. Em is 96cm tall.

HC
x

MaeWest · 11/09/2007 13:36

HC - I spose you don't really get to choose when they arrive do you about your mc. There is 23 months between me and my bro, think my parents decided to go for another when I was 1 and my mum was pg almost straight away (it had taken about a year for me). Then there is 5 yrs between him and my younger bro, meaning 7 yrs gap for me. TBH this felt like a really big gap when we were younger e.g. I was leaving home and he was just starting secondary school, but now he's graduated and started work the gap is beginning to close. He has hung on to grumpy adolescence for a bit too long tho...

AnnieOleHouseElf · 11/09/2007 13:51

Hi Girls

HC I think you're right, there is no 'perfect' age gap. Whatever you do will be perfect. My two are 15 months apart, and it's working out just fine, no jealously, interested in more or less the same things.
Bigger gaps also work very well, the older child can help out, and is easier to manage as completely mobile etc, so Mae, whatever you do, will be just right for you. Good luck!
Kayley sits on the potty next to me when I do a wee, and says Poo Poo. She often comes to me saying Poo Poo when she's about to do one. I have no intention of training her yet though, Joey's not even ready yet!
This morning she started saying Yeah in response to questions, Would you like some Weetabix? YEAH! I really think she knows what we're saying to her and understands what we tell her, eg if I ask her to go and get her shoes, she will! Though not always the right ones, but I'll let her off!!
Ceebee, they're all different, I'm sure Joey was much later with his speech. She learns a lot from him I think, so when you have your next baby, she/he'll be a faster talker (in theory!)

Dropped Joey to Nursery this morning! He just stood there all shy for a few minutes (after being really boisterous all morning at home) and then started playing with some cars and spiders, so then we legged it. He didn't even notice. The staff must have thought we were very clingy, as we kinda just stood there even though he was obviously fine!!

So DH was to pick him up at 12, so he's at home now, probably zonked. Bless!

KZ, well done to Roshi for passing!!

HC hope your throat is better. Try a spoonful of honey x

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY HARRY! Have a good day Bloss!! x

Just done 18 lengths. Only two more to build up to then I have to start timing myself. At the mo, it's about a minute a lap, which is crap (I know this because Bobbin Breaststrokers still pass me!!)

Slept on the couch last night. DH was pissing me off, cos Kayley wouldn't settle, so he kept suggesting things and it was bugging me so I took her off and we both slept on the couch! He said this morning he didn't sleep very well as he was waiting for us to come back.

Anyway, best go and do some work.

Sunny day!!

A
