Hi all!

Thanks for all the pix compliments. In-laws left today and we all had a great time. The only downer for me is how DP treats his parents - he's so grumpy! I keep saying to him "but what if Ryan treats us like that when he's our age????" Would break my heart. Funny how being a parent changes how you view your own parents/in-laws.....

Glad all's going well Lysette. Sorry about your DH being a divvy. Does he think you should have taught him ancient Greek by now or summat?!

Hi Slone - I've just joined Facebook after getting an invite - it's great to search for old faces from your past.... (not that any of my exes seem to be on it !)

Lovely Christening pix, Bloss - you look right glam!

SSS/KZ love the Chili hairdressing story! What about an "after" pic too?! And the emergency stop story too - doh!!! What bad timing! Must have been mortifying at the time!

SleepWeak - wow!!! Round the world trip would be my dream! I really miss travelling - but now just going back to the UK with Ry requires military-precision organisation, but I'd love to try something like that. Good luck with it all and if you plan to stay in Cape Town - how fab!!!

Can't complain about life in Spain, CB, you're right! So sorry Josh has been poorly. Hope he's better soon.

I used to go to the Notting Hill carnival a lot when I lived in London, Slone - it's great ! Sorry to hear about your ibook. My brother bought me my MacBook last year as a "being a new mum" pressie (yes I'm v lucky! One lovely bro, though also one horrible estranged one....) I love Macs but they are a lot more expensive than pcs....

Has HerbieGoesBananas arrived yet, Annie?

Tee hee at joke F@F (though it's kind of reversed in our household ) LOL at Emma and her "herro" down the baby monitor!!!!

Twinkle - ditto SSS's comment about Aidan. Good luck with the move.

Kbaby - chuckled at James not wanting his feet measured! We took Ry to get his first proper shoes the other day - he slept though the whole process! They don't measure feet in Spain - so we just tried a few pairs on his sleepy little feet and bought the nicest pair! He's not walking on his own but stands by himself for longer periods of time each day - so it won't be long now. Well done to all the walkers btw!!!

Hi to everyone else. Hugs Impy x

jacobandlysette · 01/09/2007 17:40

impy - i wish jacob would be like james with shoes! you try and try any on him and he just curls his toes up! just like when we try and put socks on him

HC your story made me well up and i'm sure that's not all pregnancy hormones. animals just somehow know don't they?

Bloss you could be joining my shiny new thread yet????

jacob has started pointing at trucks! and dogs - he loves dogs which is totally ironic as his whole family on DH's side hate them and are scared of them!

poor thing still has diarohea and nappy rash but i think another tooth may actually be about to cut through, which would be great. since my MIL today pronounced that he was very late with his teeth - she seems to like suggeting that he is very behind with everything, which is probably what fuels Dh on with his blah blah blah comments about jacob and education. Impy you are right, although it should be ancient greek together with philosophy, read in the original

anyway, he's yelling for food (he can't be backward he knows how to get what he wants!!!) so must go. will be back later if i can keep my eyes open (am sooooo tired so early now!), and will be thinking enviously of you all having your alcofrolic rinks tonight

xxxx

Just a quickie for now - Josh still not well . His temperature has gone down and that has been ok for a couple of days but he has developed a rash (that disappears) and has been puking at the drop of a hat for the last 2 days. The leaflet that the nurse gave to us on Tuesday after his jab did say that a rash could appear after 5 days so I guess it is that but he is still not a happy bunny at all.

And, just to put you all off your dinner, he apparently has developed a problem digesting babybels! We had noticed that undigested babybels seemed to be coming back up in his puke (he has been eating a lot these last few days as it is one of the only things he has wanted) but today, he puked at 1pm today and an entire babybel came back up, completely undigested and in the bits he swallowed it in - and do you know what time he ate that? 8pm last night so that is an entire 17 hours after eating it - wtf??

Anyway, will catch up on your posts later x

TheGoddessBlossom · 02/09/2007 19:51

poor Josh Cb I do hope he gets better soon poor little mite, big kisses!

Spin, your day sounds fabbie, and so well deserved.

I am sitting here groaning I am so full. Just eaten a curry the size of my car. Which sat on top of two cheese sandwiches, a bacon sandwich, plate of chips, candy floss, pkt wine gums and several bags of crisps. Am sooooooooooooo ridiculously hungover and the only way through is food. Had dinner at a friend's house last night, and we all got so pissed she totally ruined the dinner (ie turned oven off instead of up, completely forgot the sauce for the fish, burnt souffles etc - hilarious), drank faaaaaaar too much Rose and then Baileys.

Did manage to take H to the circus this afternoon however, hence Candy Floss, DH stayed at home with Toby (who rudely had a two hour kip - Humph) it was totlly fantastic, and Harry loved it, sat still for two hours!!

Off to eat chocolate now. Back on calorie counting treadmill tomorrow, yawn.

CB hugs - poor you and Josh. He must be through the worst of it now poor love.

Just a quickie to say thanks a million KZ/SSS - it was me asking about cameras (sorry everyone else for the hijack!). I have a Canon ixus and love its portability. I was thinking of sticking with Canon and am tempted by the 400d - I'd just heard the lenses weren't great. I'm v impressed with all your knowledge. Have you done a photography course or are you self-taught? Good luck with the moving paperwork. And thanks again for the info.

Hugs to all. Impy xxx

Hugs to you and Josh CB. I'd echo KZ - sorry, Spin - and say that it does sound like a nasty stomach bug. Aidan had something like that a few months back with horrible undigested food coming back up hours and hours after he ate it. The sick smelt absolutely putrid (sorry folks) - worse than normal sick even.

I really hope he gets better soon. xx

prettymum · 02/09/2007 23:57

evening ladies!!

cb-{{{{{hugs}}}}}} to josh! hope he gets better soon! havent really experienced it with junior or dd so dont really have any advice. more {{{{{hugs}}}}

kz and bloss- sounds like you both had a great time, always good to get away with the girls for some girly fun time and forget being a mother and wife/partner!

ive been having trouble with my bloody laptop again, it jus slowed down so much and it doesnt help me fiddling about with everything and deleting files i dont know anything about. ive had to reset my IE settings and follow solutions microsoft had for me and it seems a bit better.

junior has started his tantrums, lies on the floor and cries for attention which he doesnt end up getting!

he can now just about count 1,2,3, it come out waa, doo, dee! and ready steady go!

anyways better head to bed, dp waiting for some action!!

AnnieOleHouseElf · 03/09/2007 10:03

Morning girls!
Happy September! Can you belieeeeeeeeeeve it?

We had a lovely weekend thank you!
Went to Mothercare yesterday to get shoe fittings. Joey needed a new pair straight away, he was squeezed into size 5's when he's a 6 1/2 so DH broke his heart and splashed out. K was measured too (asleep!!!) and she's a 3 1/2, but he would fork out for her, so she's getting eBay ones for £5. The Clarkes woman said she has to be walking properly for proper shoes, and once she is walking (which she is) the soft ones are not supportive enough... sigh... my baby's all grown up.
Had a look at some pediped's and tip top joey's too in our local shops, sooo cute.

It was our 5th anniversary yesterday, so we walked and walked and walked until both babies were asleep and then went for a meal in the posh Italian in the village, which was then closed at 3.30! So we went to the pub instead!! Quite nice it was too.

We also bought a new kitchen!!! Horraaaaaaay!
Now, before anyone gets excited, it was for hte babies. A big plastic monstrosity with a million accessories... They love it though. I had about 18 dinners last night, sausages, cheese and red apple, with tomato sauce. Delicious! And Kayley was cooking something in a saucepan and feeding me directly from the saucepan with a knife! So I reckon I have two budding chefs...

And then finished off the night with a bottle of bubbley and a box of Roses.

So I'll be joining you Bloss on that treadmill thing you mentioned...

CB, hope Josh is better, poor lil thing.

And HC for your FIL's horsey.

KZ [yaaaaaaaaaaawn] at all that camera talk

Impy LOL at HerbieGoesBananas!!! Yes he arrived on Wednesday, but something fell off the bottom on the way!! So it was thunking all the way home. Then I went for a spin in it on Friday evening (a family trip to Sainsbury's horraay!) and we got a flat tyre!! So he is a bit bananas...
Loads of room though. The babies aren't allowed to have a drink unsupervised though. I wonder how long that will last...

Must go girls,

Hi to everyone else

AnnieOleHouseElf · 03/09/2007 10:04

Sorry, that should read 'he wouldn't fork out for her' the tight git.

SleepIsForTheWeak · 03/09/2007 12:18

HI,

Have you all done your MMR jabs? Hackney has an outbreak at the moment, and Sefton was scheduled to go in for his next week, but I am wondering if I should try get him in tomorrow.... never know wether I am being neurotic or not!

prettymum · 03/09/2007 15:34

i havent taken junior to hv for soooo long!! i'll take him tomorrow morning or next tuesday! i cant believe my local gp only have one session(9.30-11) for baby clinic!

need to go out again and post some packages, chat later xx

MaeWest · 03/09/2007 19:17

Our baby clinic is on one of my working days (not that I ever went anyway ).

Sleep - Dom is booked in for MMR next week, have been listening to the news all week about Measles outbreak, makes you realise why they need the jabs doesn't it?

Wallace · 03/09/2007 20:15

maewest - I often think people must think that about leo who is also a bare-footed baby. I get him out of his pushchair to crawl/toddle around and he usually has a jacket on but no socks!

bloss - your evening sounds worth the hangover

annie - I do that everytime I get a new car, I say this time I am going to keep it tidy, not let the kids eat in it etc. And it always ends up a tip...

HC - how sad about the horse

ceebee - hope josh is feeling better xxx

prettymum - leo does the same counting, it is so sweet

lysette - remind me of your due date? So we can count the weeks with you

sleep - leo loves cars too, and lorries, and of course TRACTORS! No MMR here yet, letter should be here soon. I think next week should be fine for Sefton.

twink - good luck and see you soon!

agalch - glad yuor dd1 is enjoying nursery

impy - my dh can be horrible to his parents. He even swears at them I try to teach him some respect...

spin - sounds like a fab day

Wallace · 03/09/2007 20:17

I had my 10k (6.2miles) race yesterday! I really enjoyed it, and did it iin 62 minutes - far better than my predicted 75 I can't believe how far I have come in only 4 months

Next stop: Half Marathon(13.1miles) in 6 weeks time!

TheGoddessBlossom · 03/09/2007 21:48

Wallace I am in awe of your running.

I am so excited because I have booked Toby into a creche, for next Monday Harry's first day at pre-school, and I am going for my first swim in about 10 months! I will probably keel over afterwards but am really looking forward to it!

lol at new baby

thanks girls , I am also in awe at my running I really am proud and amazed at what I have achieved

Leo is not up yet this morning, and that has been a few days now where he hasn't been up at 5, so fingers crossed!

And Leo's lastest developmental step..?

He has finally discovered his willy! The look on his face when he realised there was something there he could fiddle with was priceless

HumphreysCorner · 04/09/2007 11:32

Wallace-are you mad???? Well done though from one who just doesn't 'do' exercise as life is too short .

Hope you are all OK and having a good day. Have tried to catch up and reply honest but too many days have passed now so will start properly tomorrow. Off later to help at 2 WW classes as my friend is doing holiday cover and has roped me in too.

Can't believe Emma starts big school on Monday at just 4yrs and 2months.

HC

jacobandlysette · 04/09/2007 12:22

hey you all!

my due date is 1st may so I am 6 weeks today!

CB sending you so many hugs for you and josh and jacob says to his virtual twinny to get better soon. It certainly does sound viral.

jacob had his MMR today - we brought it forward from thursday becuase of the measles reporting. Has anyone else been told that the booster is now 3 months after the original jab rather than just before school? I was told by a rather rude practise manager this morning....

Spin - don't worry about the p&t - dh is insisting we get a new one as we had a new buggy for jacob, and PIls can bring it over from NZ and will probably pay for it as they bought us the mountain buggy.

and also thanks for the camera info - i didn't ask but have been thinking i would like a new camera and this may kick me into action! also got a tax rebate cheque last week so that's burning a hold in the bank account

Annie - what store had the tip toey joey's? nowhere around us seems to have them even though we are apparently in nappy valley (balham, clapham and northcote road....), so very envoius you can get them where you are!

bloss - well done on the hangover - I'm expecting detailed reports of everyone's hangovers till i can have another one. I shall live through your experiences .

Had first antenatal check at docs. can you believe that round here now you get a scan appointment at 12 weeks, then a first booking appointment at your home a week later and then a week after that first bloods are done??? even though we have requested an early conaultants appointment because i was kept in for observation last time at 9 weeks because bp was so high. anyway, very nice doctor has told me to go in every 2 weeks to him for checks and we are still trying to get me consultant led care at the hospital.

anyway, enough rambline, off to look at p&t's and cameras!!!

AnnieOleHouseElf · 04/09/2007 13:06

Hi Girls

Lysette, it's a local shop near us that does the Tip Top Joeys. It's called Minsky, and it's on the list of shops that was on the link Ceebee did. Norf London though.
Glad the antenatal check went well! Only 34 weeks to go!!

Well I struggled through the tube strike last night and in again this morning, in time for my 9.30 meeting, which was postponed to 11am for the commuting people who might not be able to make it . So the people who live far out actually made it in in time while the 'locals' strolled in at 11... The email telling us the change of time was sent last night at 6.30pm. What fecking use is that to me when I left at 3.30 to avoid the crush? I ask you.

Anyway, must go and read some CV's now, in prep for being on the interview panel (have I mentioned that before already??!!)

Wallace, I'm also in AWE of your running!!
Bloss see you in the pool!!

Ceebee hope Josh is better.

A
