Ha 4.30 again

Worst thing is, I'm getting used to it!

AnnieOneSeenMyPumpkin · 05/11/2007 10:37

Morning all!

6am for me, so reasonable. K did go to sleep around 6pm last night, and woke about 4 times for milk. We were actually having dinner when she nodded off! Hence all the milk, as she hadn't eaten much. The vague routine that I had is all disrupted now anyway, cos we were out late on Saturday night at a party. Fireworks and all.

She has started saying two words together now, like 'Dada gone' and 'Dada car'.
Very clingfilmy too.

Bloss, CONGRATS on the job! Good for you girl. Hope your day is going well! I'm exhausted just reading what you are up to!

HC, has that clip worked it's way out yet!? Poor Sophie! Hope you're all feeling ok there.

KZ, how's the gawk-fest?

Well girls, I better do some work...

HAve a good day

HC ? any sign of the hair clip ? surely it would have worked it?s way through by now?

Spin ? it feels a little strange knowing you are the other side of the world but good to have you back . R sounds like she knows her own mind anyway which is surely a good thing (in time maybe??). Hope she picks up again soon.

Bloss ? congratulations about the job. I am sure Toby will love nursery once he gets settled ? all those other children to play with. Josh can?t wait to get there now ? as soon as he sees the building, he gets excited and once we are inside, he wants to get on the floor straight away and then turns round and waves and says ?bye bye? to me - obviously just to make sure I don?t cramp his style by stopping with him??

Kbaby ? fantastic fantastic pumpkins ? you talented thing! Am as I wouldn?t even know where to start with them.

We have now had 2 consecutive nights without Josh puking ? yeah! I am guessing he is on the mend from whatever it is at last. Not sure the inhaler did any good as we could never get the mask on his face, even if he was fast asleep as soon as he felt it on his face, he batted it away.

Bless him ? he got really scared last night when DH was setting off fireworks in the garden. He was ok for the first 2 which weren?t noisy and then the third one (which banged and popped a bit) set him off and he became really scared. I took him inside to watch from the conservatory but he still didn?t like that ? so we ended up in the lounge and couldn?t see anything so DH set off 20 odd fireworks for his own amusement in the end

Having another massage lesson tonight after Josh?s bath which will hopefully be more successful than the last one as he might sit still

Have a good day all

(Annie I did neglect to mention that I am paying someone else to do the car he is out there right now beavering away, I did give him tea, a jam tart and a choc brownie at H's insistenece - H now wants to wash cars when he grows up)

the swimming thing went down the pan - got there, took Toby to the creche only to find he had pooed all the way through all his clothes so we abandoned that and am not going to friend's this afternoon for the same reason. Quite nice to chill out at home instead.

got a phone call from the swimming teacher this morning and there's me thinking right she is going to say H can't come anymore, but instead she said he is ready to move up a level! She said he is just able to do the things they are doing already and so gets bored and mucks about! What a relief!

Christmas cake smeels divine, better check it again or it will be fried once more!!

Spin it's great having you post again

CB thanks for reassurance re nursery I hope Toby likes it as much as Josh....

Am such a domestic goddess that I made my Christmas cake a week ago . Congrats on the job Bloss

HC - any news on the hairclip? Hope Sophie is ok...

First - voluntary redundancy eh, would be great to do another meet-up, you up for that?

Busy time here, starting to hot up a bit at work, got a couple of small events coming up in December, woo! My parents were staying over the weekend so we took DS to the zoo on Saturday, had a lovely time but he was to het up to nap, ended up crashing out in my lap whilst we had a cup of tea. Today we went with my best mate to a new softplay place, wasn't looking forward to it tbh, having heard dubious things, but actually it was really good fun. DS loves to run and explore and it was great to just let him go. He was climbing, kicking balls, being pushed along on rideon toys by older children, receiving amorous advances from another toddler (male), the lot . Had to boob him down into the cot when we got home...

HumphreysCorner · 06/11/2007 09:52

Morning ladies

Well, no sign of the clip so had a look in the car seat and felt a lump under the material. When I peeled back the cover found a stash of 4 clips including the suspected swallowed one! Panic over!

And I reached my Goal Weight at WW last night. At last!!!!!!!

I went to buy my Christmas cake ingredients last week and came back with this Tesco Finest Iced Rich Fruit Cake
Looks lovely though. Am making puddings on Monday and I make mince pies etc.

Better get on as have piles of washing to do.

Have a good day ladies.

AnnieOneSeenMyPumpkin · 06/11/2007 14:29

Morning ladies,

HC, PHEW! That could have been so much worse. Wonder what she was choking on then?
CONGRATS on achieving your Goal!! You must be very proud and chuffed and deserve a glassa Blossom Hill for that!

All ye domestic Goddesses, making Christmas cakes and things. I'm rubbish at all that.
How did yours turn out Bloss? Beautfully I'm sure.

Mae, LOL at Dom and his new 'friend'! How lovely though!

CB how was the massage?

KZ Queen Rosheen IS a Diva!! Love it!
Is MIL still dancing? I happen to know some, ahem, ballerinas, formerly of the Royal Ballet...

Rubbish night again last night. It seems we are back to square one. She was very tired around 7, therefore even more clingy, so even walking to her room started her off. Practically hysterical in the cot, so I had to pick her out and sit with her for aaaaages, then when I was sure she was asleep, put her back in, only to have her scream herself silly again. Got fed up after a while and just sat on the sofa with her.
Must start all over again now tonight, and earlier... will it ever ever ever work?

Better go, lots to do ...

MaeWest · 06/11/2007 15:48

Good news about the hairclip HC, that could have been a tad uncomfortable for the poor girl

Annie - sleep has gone bandy again here, he was in our bed for about 2hrs from midnight last night, dozing and wriggling And he has to suck his thumb, press his forehead against mine and stroke my arm to get himself to sleep. Which sounds sweet, but actually gets bloody annoying. I was not very serene this morning And then I just happen to read a Sleep thread with some smug woman blethering on that you just have to be firm with baby and get them into a routine as soon as they are seven minutes old and stand no nonsense. Gah, some babies are bad sleepers, that's it... (sorry that wasn't very helpful was it

ceebee74 · 06/11/2007 17:17

HC - Lol at finding the hairclip after all the worry - but at least you can stop examining her nappies now . HUGE congratulations on reaching your goal weight - fantastic achievement.

Annie/Mae - sleep a bit dodgy here too. Josh wakes up and won't settle in his cot so he ends up in our bed and then annoyingly goes straight back to sleep as soon as his head hits OUR pillows!

Just been shopping to get Josh's Christmas presents - really chuffed as got a Thomas train set - we looked at it for his birthday but decided £80 was far too expensive but it is half price at Toys R Us at the moment so only cost £40! Got him a Rainbow Aquadraw aswell. What is everyone else buying?

Also bought a bouncy chair from Mamas and Papas as a present for my brother's baby (who should be born anyday) and started to feel really broody looking at all the baby stuff there

Also (final shopping story here) - bought a top from Dorothy Perkins that was £14 - however, it kept coming up as £4 when the assistant tried to ring it into the till so she had to sell it to me at that price - definitely a bargain!

Anyway, that is enough about my day - hope everyone else has had a good day x

ceebee74 · 06/11/2007 17:19

Annie - in answer to your question, the massage was a disaster again. So much for him being quieter and more relaxed after his bath - he was SO giddy and just ran riot wearing just his nappy showing off to my neighbour! I ended up practising on the doll that she uses to demonstrate - am going to try doing some of the techniques after his bath tonight though.

TheGoddessBlossom · 06/11/2007 19:27

Just been to a brillaint birthday party, fireworks, big bonfire, sparklers, hot dogs and choocie cake and best of all mulled wine! Amazing house and grounds too, same one where we went riding in the Summer, how the other half live...DH came home early to look after Toby who is poorly, really wheezy and coughy poor thing, so it was just me and H, god how easy is one kid (sorry to all those with one).

Christmas cake mark 2 turned out much better (I hope, the proof will be in the eating of course). Got to marzipan and ice it now...

Organised an epic girls night out for next Wednesday, about 15 of us, Secret Santa, crackers, the lot. A bit early I know, but one of us is due with her 3rd on the 29th November so in her honour we are doing it early....really looking forward to it, going to go shopping tomorrow for a funky top to wear....

Must stop making so many bloody cakes, unlike HC (congratubloodylations by the way, well done you, fantastic )I have gained serious poundage as I can't bear to throw the ends of cakes and biscuits away and end up eating it all myself!

Wallace condolences about seeing 4.30am these days - I frequently see that hour, I seem to be just waking up and that's it! Nightmare. I go to bed at 9.30pm, like I'm 11 or something....

Right, DH cooking my tea, really want to finish my book before curfew.

Hi Girls

Spin - well done on getting there! Hope Roshi is better now, what a pain having to cope with puking on top of everything. Love the crocs story, she really is a diva isn?t she! Emma on getting dressed every morning points and goes ?sssssshhhhhhzzzzzzz? insistently and repeatedly at her Tots till they?re on her feet Lol too at being made to feel that MN is a ?dirty little habit? - god that?s so true isn?t it!

Hiya Annie Bummer about the sleeping, it?s such a hopeless feeling isn?t it sitting there in the dark waiting for them to go off She?ll get there in the end I?m sure. Clever girl doing two words at once !! (I?m convinced Emma?s are going to be Mummy Wine )

Bloss - well done on the job!!! I?m sure the boys will love nursery, they are so used to activities and getting out and about. Love the ?drives me mental? statements, I?ve got a few of those as well, mainly involving remote controls, doors, dog bowls and buttons on the computer, grrrrrrrr

Kbaby - know what you mean about the clinginess and having a paddy when refused something, Emma has just stated beign the same, making a grab for my legs all the time. She is also very screechy and indignant if refused food she has spotted and wants.

Ceebee - I was in BabiesRUs looking at toys (and prams ) today, saw an Aquadraw type thing and was wondering about it. The ELC one looks good. I thought I might get her a Fisher Price thing - are they called Little People or something (?) - there are various little sets, eg farm, garage which look good, they have the farm one at her nursery. Well done on the £4 top!

Prettymum - at the CD player, Junior is a wizard when it comes to devices isn?t he!

Hi Mae - yes, am deffo up for more local meetups, will drop you an email from my non-work address. (Would be interesting to try Softplay, Emma v active at the mo now she can walk). Glad work?s going well, sounds good

HC - glad Sophie?s okay, and WELL DONE on your target weight, fabulous!!

Blimey all you lot making cakes, I wouldn?t know where to start, I?m hoping MIL will make a big enough one for all of us

Went Christmas shopping today, my first truly free day as (yeah right) lady of leisure. Very excited as a new TK Maxx has opened up in our area, couldn?t find much though sadly, will have to go back and try harder. Emma?s fine, recovered from the puking bug and eating for England. Her two favourite words at the moment are ?More? (?maw, maw?, in a tone of slight desperation) and ?Please? (peeez). She also says thank you sometimes too, very cute, though she does sound a bit like Perry from the Harry Enfield teenager thing when she says it.

Better get off to bed, have good nights all xxx

kbaby · 06/11/2007 22:05

Bloss- It?s the same here. DS seems to have his own little habits.
Has to sit on the toilet seat to brush his teeth while I do mine, has to drink my tea, if im upstairs he has to be upstairs or hes shouting at the stair gate, gets in the dishwasher or plays with the manky tea/drink/food spilt inside and the really annoying one is that I cant do the dishes because he insists on being picked up so that he can dip his hand in the water and then goes mental when I put him back down.. Hopefully it will all pass soon and then they?ll be another one H sounds like a typical little boy who is just excited to be swimming and it goes to show that DH was stressing about it more than the teacher.

HC- no trick honest, I bought a stencil set and did them. DD did turn into a pune though as I carved them while she was in the bath and one hour later she was begging to get out bless her. And anyway its about as far as my creativity runs. I cant cook xmas cakes like you all. A huge well done on reaching your goal weight. Well done.

Sleep has gone tits up again this week. After a week of sleeping all night DS is now back to crying at 1am every night. I wish I could bring him into bed for him to go to sleep but he thinks it?s a game so were back to leaving him and checking him every few minutes which is awful, esp now he shouts mam mam.
He cracks me up though, yesterday DD hurt her side so I was cwtching her and then he comes over shouting mam and then bends down and holds his foot. I know full well he didn?t hurt it or anything so he was copying DD for some sympathy.

We went to see a fireworks display but DS hated them and wouldn?t even look at them they?ve also stopped him settling in the evenings because theyre going off every night round here. Ill be glad when they?re over so he can go to bed properly.

Right im off to have a yogurt and then bed, keep waking up in the middle of the night so hungry that I have to come downstairs for something to eat!! Hopefully the yogurt will sort me out tonight.

Twinklemegan · 06/11/2007 22:41

evening all.

Have just done a load of Chrimble shopping online so feeling quite virtuous. Although not as virtuous as I would have felt if I'd gone swimming as I had planned, but too tiiiiiired. Need so much determination to go at 7pm, and it just ain't there by that hour, espesh when DH is cooking Chilli and pouring red wine.....

Spin sorry you got the lurgy. Bet you can't wait to get into your own place.

So I start Dec 3rd! And have to go to Barcelona for the day on the 28th November, can't wait. Talk about a 180 change from my normal Wednesday routine!

Hi to all!

Hi all. Leo still getting up early 4am today

Had an awful fright yesterday. Leo escaped from toddlers - I was busy setting up toys, the door hadn't been shut properly - and was brought back from the main road by a man who had stopped ihis car.

Doesn't bear thinking about what might have happened, but thank goodness it didn't

kbaby · 08/11/2007 07:58

Wallace- No wonder you were so frightened. At least he is ok, its surprising what they manage to get upto when our backs are turned.

I found a new technique to keep DS quiet while I mumsnet. A money box and some pennies, hes sat there a good 10 mins posting all the money in.

Cant remember but someone asked what pressies we had bought. Ive got DS a rainbow auquadraw mat and i am going to get a baby till from ELC, DH has also bought him a tickle me elmo. I know family have bought a playhouse for the garden, a smoby police car and a table that has lego mats attached and storage for lego.

Feel sick this morning. I hope I arent getting that vom bug thats going around.

ceebee74 · 08/11/2007 19:38

First ? glad Emma has recovered from her bug ? there is nothing better than mopping up sick is there? I have said to DH that I don?t care what sex the next baby is as long as it is a non-puking one ? I think I have done more than my share of mopping up sick! The Little People are fab ? we got Josh the farm for his birthday and someone else bought him the plane. I quite like the look of the pirate ship so might put that on his ?Christmas List?.

Kbaby ? hope the sleep is back on track and impressed that your DS will actually clean his teeth as Josh just throws the toothbrush around and point blank refuses to put it anywhere near his mouth!

Spin ? hope both you and Roshi are on the mend. I am sure you didn?t choose to go back to Oz for ?cold and rain? though did you? Could have stayed in good old Blighty for that

Hey Twinkle ? good to have you back

Bloss ? the job sounds fab with the jet-setting!

Wallace ? I agree about it being an awful fright. Josh did that at my parent?s Ruby wedding party ? I thought DH was watching him and he thought I was and in the meantime, Josh was merrily crawling his way out on to the car park (which was not as bad as a main road though).

Got the photos back from nursery today ? even if I do say so myself, they are gorgeous! I really wish there was someway I could show you them. Josh looks serious in them both but still very very yummy!

Dh away tonight so am sat here with a big bag of Doritos and some dips. I also saw 4.30am this morning although it was cos Dh had to get up at that time, not because of Josh!

HumphreysCorner · 08/11/2007 20:12

Evening ladies

Seem to be falling behind with the posts, must try harder.

spin-hope you all feel much better soon. Nothing worse than sicky bugs.

Wallace-how utterly frightening for you. Big hug to Leo.

Bloss-Barcelona eh? Sounds like a brilliant adventure you are about to start.

Hugs too to you early risers. Can't imagine how I would cope with broken sleep-probably have to treble my dosage of AD's. Speaking of which, I have 4 more weeks of taking them every day then I have to take them every other day to wean myself off them. Oo-er!

Ceebee-can you take a pic of Josh's photos with your mobile or digi camera so that we can see them. Have done that before and the pics were quite clear.

Right, watching Waterloo Road so have a good evening ladies.

ceebee74 · 08/11/2007 20:28

try this

Great idea HC!

Twinklemegan · 08/11/2007 23:33

OK, I?m up to the beginning of October and it?s too late to post much now since I?ve got to be up for work at 6.

Lysette ? hope things are going OK with you.

If you?re still around Soph28 ? congratulations!

I must just go back to 10 September though, if you?ll humour me. Aidan STILL says Hiya all the bl**dy time to anyone and everyone ? like someone else said we don?t really say Hiya so can only assume it?s easier than the L sound. Going round Tesco is a nightmare because by the 20th time, to the SAME person, it gets really embarrassing. And then people say Hiya back which just reinforces it. It?s not like he can?t say anything else ? he?s got about 15 words if you use your imagination. Please tell me I?m not the only one?

He understands absolutely loads of stuff though: Put it back. Close the door/drawer. Give a kiss, etc. What do sheep/cows say? He knows all the names of his cuddly toys and understands the words for tons of objects. I don?t really know what?s expected at this age, but I reckon he?s doing pretty well

Walking is going very well. He really doesn't want to be carried when we're out and we're hardly using the pushchair at the mo. Last Saturday we went up the Ben Nevis gondola and Aidan walked half way to the viewpoint (about 200m I guess) on a really uneven stony path. God knows what the other people thought, but he insisted bless him, tumbles and all.

Hope everyone is well. Will post personal messages when I'm more up to date.

PS Is everyone still interested in FB. I found you yesterday btw CB and sent you a friend request. I don't really get it either I must say - I can't be bothered with all that zombie stuff. But I just found out an old school friend is pg so it does have it's uses.

OK, I'm off to bed. Will continue tomorrow...

HumphreysCorner · 09/11/2007 09:54

Ceebee-what gorgeous pics of Josh. They are a lot more professional than any Em had done at nursery.

Twinkle-hiya Aidan sounds like a friendly young man. We (well me) are all quite addicted to Facebook. Haven't found the Zombies thing yet. I adore my fluffy friend Gerald, my Zoo and like playing Pirates, Scrabulous, Mastermind and doing TV Trivia. Oh, and the Fantasy Stock Exchange is fun too.

Back later!
