Happy Birthday Lysettes!

Believe me Annie, you do not want to see me in my riding gear. I always look like a little school girl.

Rotten day really girls as I caught my lovely car going up the ramp in the multistorey car park. Ended up rowing with DH last night re money and lack of due to me not managing it properly so have been and bought a new suede look leather jacket today!

Hi to all and sorry it?s been such ages since I?ve been on?

Have had the parents staying for a few weeks which has been fun but enormously time consuming - and seriously bitten into my surfing time! Also been quite full on work wise, until now - but I?ve just taken voluntary redundancy and so am now as free as a bird, hurrah! So lots going on really, and some readjustments to make, but good ones hopefully.

Emma?s doing well, been walking for a fortnight and like all new walkers looking enormously pleased with herself She had her MMR this morning so fingers crossed no nasty reactions, she?s got her other granny coming to stay for a few days now so hope she?s on good form for that. She?s had a tummy bug or something all this week, threw up all over me and the sofa yesterday (yuuuuk), and all over herself and the pram the day before - both just once a day though so maybe it?s a similar sort of bug that Josh has Ceebee? Seems to have been going on a long time though for you, hope it goes soon

Otherwise she?s brilliant, such a cute age isn?t it (apart from the tantrums of course, which are mostly NOT cute!). A modest range of words now, and she uses them sparingly - nose (no no), mouth (maw), hello (herrow), bye bye (die die ), flower (wower), shoes (ssssshhhhhzzzzzz, usually said with great excitement, I think I should have called her Imelda), zip (zzzzzzz), oh dear (favourite expression), oooooooooh (approvingly, on seeing food she likes). Also lots of head shaking and nodding for yes and no, and she actually understands tons of words (part of the body, animals, people?s names, instructions etc) but won?t attempt to say them. There are also words she says a lot but make no sense (to us) whatsoever, eg 'Beeeowww' wtf? She also loves buttons on both clothes and electronics, switches, remotes, opening and closing doors etc and can reach many more of them now she's mobile, grrrrrrr

Got her weighed today, she?s 21 lbs, her clothes vary wildly in size from 3-6 months to 2 yrs Mostly 9-12 months though I guess.

Well I won?t attempt to catch up with posts now or this will be a humungous essay, but just a couple of quickies - hope you?ve arrived safely in Aus Spin, and that Roshi was more accommodating with sitting on your knee on the plane - did you get a sky cot seat?

Happy birthday for yesterday Lysettes, and good luck with the job Bloss, well done on your stonking presentation Hope you?re better today HC, and that work is a little less hectic today for you Annie

Hi to everybody tho? and I?ll hopefully have lots more time now to catch up and keep in touch! xxx

Twinklemegan · 01/11/2007 21:54

Hi again everyone. Looks like I should be fully online by the middle of next week. I've dumped crappola Tiscali and gone with BT - hopefully they'll be better (fingers firmly crossed).

As soon as I'm no longer on snail's pace pay as you go, I promise I'll be catching up with all your news (counting the hours...).

Twinkle xx

ceebee74 · 02/11/2007 09:04

First - wow you have been busy!! Voluntary redundancy - can I say I am a little ? What are you going to do? Be a SAHM for a while or find another job? Emma sounds adorable - I am so loving this age aswell - it is fantastic to realise that Josh understands what we are sayng (such as 'sit down', get your shoes etc) and that we can understand (most) of what he says. He will now say 'dog' to anything with 4 legs and something that sounds like 'gack gack' for both the Ninky Nonk and the Pinky Ponk (too much In the Night Garden watching me thinks ).

The other main development appears to be that DH has obviously trained Josh to stop me MNing when he is not there - as soon as I set foot in the office (literally), he immediately comes and sits at the door having a tantrum - even if he was perfectly fine 30 seconds before. I think I need to have words with DH about that

Anyway, this was just a quickie as am at work and supposed to be doing some work (obviously) - have a good weekend all xx

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 02/11/2007 09:57

Ceebee-lol. Sophie says doggy oof oof at any 4 legged animal too.

First-good on you taking redundancy-chill and enjoy for a while.

Bloss-any news about your job yet?

Mooncup-hang in there!

Twinkle-when we first got an internet connection it was Freeserve pay as you go and our bill was in the £100's and I wasn't on MN or Facebook then! We are still with Tiscali so am online permanently.

Am finally meeting up with my friends this afternoon-haven't seen them since September due to various illnesses-yay!

Have a good day girls.

Hi y'all.

No improvements on the sleep thing for a few nights now. She'll scream in her cot for months and months, and then I pick her up, and she's asleep in seconds.
She also knows when she's going to bed (maybe cos I say, let's go to bed now), and that just starts her off. So it'll be a Looooong time yet before we have progress.

Was up at 5.30 this morning with Joey, and I dozed off on the sofa while he played with his jigsaw, until he poked himself in the eye with a goat, and then the whole house was up. Then he fell asleep when DH was taking them to the shops, so he had to go back home, as he'd only taken the single pram!! Ah...

First HIYA! Good for you on the redundancy. Hope all the adjustments go well!
Emma sounds just adorable!! Must have a nose at some pics...

Well I best be off if I want to finish in time to be home in time for a pint... 3 ish, you think??

Have a lovely weekend everyone

KZ, I don't reckon you'll ever catch up really. Don't bother reading any of my posts, you'll just fall asleep.
Glad you made it relatively safely there, hope all the bowels are back to normal!!
Hope your new home is a wonderful as you could wish x x x

HC, lol at Sophie's 'Doggy oof off'! How cute! Have fun this afternoon. Are you going in your riding gear!?

CB, how sweet of Josh to want you all to himself instead of letting you talk to us! Also loving this age, so cute!! And the best part is when we Mummys can understand them when no-one else can. Love it!

AnnieOneSeenMyPumpkin · 02/11/2007 14:00

Sorry, my cutting and pasting went a bit funny there... really should pay attention.

TheGoddessBlossom · 02/11/2007 14:32

KZ, HI! Nightmare about the gastro! Poor little Chilli. Glad you made it though, well done you, how exciting about getting the house pretty. Pix as soon as please, we need to visualise you in your new gaff.

Hi First! Vol Red eh? Lady of leisure? Yeah right...

Annie your posts crack me up, LOL at crying for months and months. Sorry you are still struggling with K's sleeping, what a pain. I had 3 4.30am starts this week with Toby's snot, and it nearly killed me. I was so tired I could hardly be bothered to speak...

In true goddess fshion have just made a sausage casserole and a cheesy pasta veggie bake. In slightly less goddess fashion have ahd to allow H to watch the Aristocats twice in a row to give me the time to do it...

Off to soft play with them both now, deep joy....

No offficial word on the job yet, although they have sent me the package and the target (eek) details so looks like it's a goer, to start beginning of Dec (eek). Dh and have decided that the boys will go to the nursery H used to go to, which will be a HGE shock to Toby's cosseted little system, so that should be funnd games. Still, only 3 days so he should cope with that.

Had a huge row with my Dad this morning. He is as taut as a piano string at the moment as my mum's memory has completely gone down the swanny, and while that must be very stressful to live with, no need to be a complete and utter arse to anyoe and everyone. Fun fun fun.

Right, off to slide down slides and drown in balls. If you know what I mean.

Sophie has swallowed her hair clip-should I be worried? I was driving back from dancing and she started choking so I slammed the brakes on and stuck my fingers down her throat but it had gone. She sicked a bit then cried. The choking terrified me but DH couldn't see why.

Bloss Sorry that you have argued with your dad. My dad (and my mum) are my world so would hate that to happen.

Off to check on Sophie.

SSS- Cant wait to hear it all in detail when you finally get some time. Your prob home by now. Sorry you?ve all been ill and I hope it misses you.

Lynsette- Jacob must be long- Only 9-12 month trousers fit ds. I measured them both yesterday and DS is 76cm and DD is 101cm. I think Ds will be a short arse, while DD gets his height quota as well

HC- I am fed up of being bombed by you so you have now set my own little trap ah, ah ah(said with a pirate accent) hope you?ve found the clip at the other end!

Beadmum- He has a spoon and feeds himself while I quickly shovel in another mouthful while hes concentrating on trying to get the food on his spoon. Ive tried finger food and he doesn?t eat that much, possibly half a sandwich? He has eaten better this week though so hopefully it was just a phase.

Toby mustve passed on his clinginess to James because I cant move or do anything lately without him pushing my legs so that I pick him up and then when I do pick him up he wants something he cant have and has a paddy. If I don?t pick him up he just pushes and cries. Somedays its so hard to find the patience. And if he climbs up the stairs once more im going to scream. The stair gate is useless as hes worked out how to get through the back of the stairs and even though ive tried baracading them in he can move it all to squeeze through.
Bloss- Congratulations.

TheGoddessBlossom · 02/11/2007 21:19

every time H goes to the loo, Toby follows us and tries to get H's sponge and toothbrush. Drives me mental.

every time I open the dishwasher, Toby tries to get in it, or reaches for a knife. All of a sudden he is there. Drives me mental.

Every time I try and get H dressed, Toby tries to climb on my lap. Arrrggghh!

Love em really.

Wow kbaby-the pumpkins are ace! You must tell us how you did them so well. Dad carves 2 eyes, a nose and mouth and that takes forever.

Don't worry, I was caught in the trap you set for me. Oh, and Annie is also a pirate so can bomb you equally as well as the rest of the MN gang.

hi ladies

sorry for slacking with my posting, i catch up on all posts then get distracted and forget what im gonna write.

ive been spending a lot of time over at hotukdeal trying to see if i can get a good deal on a phone.
i very stupidly put my lovely recently purchased samsung e900 phone which i bought for a very good price into the bloody washing machine!! i couldnt believe it, it was in there for half an hour and the screen was filled with water!!

dp and i got ready to watch saw 3 on dvd the other night but the disc seemed to have mysteriously disappeared.

the next day i saw junior playing with the cd player and he had a disc in his hand and as he shoved it in it disappeared somewhere into the back.

so later i got dp to unscrew the system apart and there at the back was a collection of dvds that went missing! what am i going to do with him!

kz- glad you all arrived safely and yes we want lots of pics!!

bloss- congratulations on the job!!

ok will write more over the weekend as i have the weekend off, ive joined a movie rental thing online, where you can rent for free using promotional codes, received my first dvd today- hannibal rising so going to watch it now.

have a lovely evening everyone xx

prettymum · 02/11/2007 22:24

kbaby- wow those pupkins are amazing!!! you ladies are all so creative!! i need to learn to these things!!

TheGoddessBlossom · 03/11/2007 20:05

oooh, Pretty Mum I love the Saw Films, kind of despite myself! What was Hannibal Rising like? Read the book, was it truly gruesome?

Bought a truly divine wrap type cardi, chocolate brown, from East today, £65!!! I am such a pikey I never spend that much on one item, I buy so many clothes I can never justify it, but I thought hey, I need it for work, and I'm fed up of buying cheap shit that doesn't wash well....it's gorge.

Typical Saturday - really good bits, really shit bits. Dh gets so stressed out with H, and yes I know I do too, but it's hard to watch them. THey got home from H's swimming lesson and Dh looked ready to explode, H is so excited at being in the pool, he won't stay by the side when it's not his turn to swim, and jumps about and splashes and won't keep still. THe teacher spends half her time telling him to stay by the side. It's so embarassing, as all the other children seem really good, but for some reason this swimming thing brings out the worst in his behaviour. There is nothing horrible in it, he's just totally exuberant and excited but he has got to do as he is told, or he is ruining it for everyone else. So DH comes home and launches into a tirade of he needs more discipline and it's clearly all my fault.

Anyway we agreed that I wil take him next week and if he doesn't behav I'll just pull him out half way through. I will speak to the teacher beforehand to let her know. Sigh.

Anyhoo. Ciao for now.

Still no sign of the clip-my SIL finds it hard to believe she could have swallowed it and that it must be in the car somewhere. Will search the car again.

Had a brill firework party but BIL brought round a bottle of Sambuco-cor, was knocked out with it.

Have a good day all.

Hi all. Quickly posting to get this back in my threads. will catch up soon xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 05/11/2007 07:12

ok so toay I have to:

remake Christmas cake as yesterday's got binned - tin was too big so mixture spread too thinly, and was totally scorched, what a waste!

phone H's preschool and change his days to Thurs and Fri

phone day nursery and confirm I need two places for 3 days a week from Dec

go shopping
go swimming
clean car inside and out, it is gopping
go to playdate with friend I haven't seen for ages as she is fairly dull and has two girls who are usually horrified by my boys' boisterousness.

Phew tired already.

Spin, so sorry R got it! What a puke fest! How nice that you got to wear a top of your MIL's for the whole visit, bet you were dead chuffed.

Hi Wallace!

HC you are brave drinking Sambucca, did you talk scrible all niht on it, I always did....

Have great days all

PS Toby still asleep! And H now wakes at 6.15ish which is an improvement. Now I've just got to figure out why I wake religiously at 5.45am and lie there with my brain whirring while all the boys slumber on...so annoying.
