Took DS for his MMR today. Unfortunately I had to take DD in with me and I was worried about traumatising her by letting her see what was happening. I told her b4 we went in what to expect and that James would cry etc. After all my setting the scene she was more concerned with the fact he had a sticker and she didn?t and didn?t the nurse want to see her baddy hand. And after DS taking so long to coo, babble etc all I get now is ?mam? shouted at the top of his voice about anything and if I don?t respond within a second he comes over and peers at me until I ask what. What happened to the silence?

Im going away for a spa day on Monday. Cant wait im having a hot stones treatment and then staying overnight with some friends. It will be pure bliss.

Prettymum- How do you find your energy? It was 11.45pm and you were having a shower ready for a early night!!! I had been asleep for 1 hr by then.

Lynsette- Glad the scan went well. A big well done to Jacob too.
Bloss- Is there anyway you can move the stairgate to let H come and get you if he needs a wee? Ds is the same with his food as Toby, only interested in eating what you have or what he can eat while wandering about. BTW you have a lovely pumpkin and Sparticus.
Can?t get any tidy photos of DS because as soon as I get the camera out he charges over to see it and the moment is lost.

Kayzed- I cant ever imagine trying to do what you are doing. Keep at it, you?re doing a great job. It cant be easy arranging a move to another country with 2 lo?s.

Come on South Africa(sorry everyone)

Just quickly posting so this thread comes back on "threads I'm On" because otherwise I never have time to find it and post.

ceebeegeebies · 20/10/2007 12:45

Annie - check you out on Tip of the Day

ImpyChica · 21/10/2007 11:41

Hola chicas!

Hope you're all having a great weekend.... Have had a lovely one meself, catching up with friends and enjoying the warm autumnal sunshine in the park.

Well done on the jogging kbaby - wow-ser! v impressed. Hope you're little man is sleeping better. LOL at sticking stickers on his face!

Hi F@F (waves). Sounds like Emma's gonna have a serious Manolo Blahnik habit later....!

OK SSS & F@F - I'm buying a mooney next time I'm back in Blighty - you've convinced me! {{{{{hugs}}}}}} SSS for all the goodbyes you're going through. You're a fantastic mate to so many people - they must be gutted... but then your Oz mates must be made up that you're coming back! Can't believe you're still standing after such a busy week - cripes! You had me welling up at the thought of Chili's leaving do at school - bless!!!!

Wallace - sorry about your DH's accident - what ar*eholes.

Happy belated b-day to your DD, Pretty!

Hi CB Thanks again for the interview questions - they helped lots in preparing - the interview went pretty well and my Spanish held up ok.... I think.... so finger's crossed..... I'm sure Josh will be in climbing mode soon - just wait and see! (and good luck with ttc!!!)

Hope Kayley's sleeping better Annie.... you must be knackered, poor love.

Great dressing/up pix Bloss! Ridiculously cute. I bought a red devil/imp costume for Ry for Halloween - it's wicked! Hope you're feeling better - everyone's given great advice here - I second it all.

Great news about the scan Lysette! And hurrah on Jacob's walking!

Grrrr Maewest at being buggy-less! How annoying! Well done on the press coverage! Fantastic!

HC are you eating healthily darling? You seem to have cold after cold at the moment - plenty of fresh fruit and veg? Maybe take vitamin supplements? Sorry to nag but I worry about you....

Well, had a good week generally. As I said the interview for a web producer role went well though a little worried about going back to work full time if I do get it..... Took Ry for his MMR on Thurs. Had to go on the metro to get there and this eastern european guy helped me down the steps with the buggy ..... meanwhile his female friend was rooting around in my handbag!!! Luckily I realised and shouted at her - and she didn't manage to steal anything but I was furious about it! Offering to help while trying to steal from me - I wondered why he was babbling on at me asking strange question, obviously trying to distract me. Grrrr! Apart from that, all good. Ry has been knocked out from the jabs but seems ok otherwise. Not really doing any more tricks but is just generally adorable. Anyway, hugs to all, Impy xxx

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 21/10/2007 20:26

Grrh Impy at the con artists-DH and I were conned by flower sellers in Spain and I kept trying to stop her sticking her fingers in my purse but somehow was distracted and she got about £80 of Euros. Won't get caught again. Good on you for noticing in time! I take vitamins galore and eat v. healthily-perhaps we need some cold weather to kill the bugs.

Bloss-water or wine this weekend?

Hi to all

(Sorry)

jacobandTheMummylysette · 22/10/2007 16:16

hey KZ good luck with the flights and check in as soon as you can!

YAY south africa!!! sorry everyone but what with dh being kiwi and me half welsh an english win would have been disastrous... we taped the game and waited to hear the result before seeing whether we would watch it how sad is that???!!!

impy you poor thing! at elast you shouted at her and stopped her getting anything.

trying to get ds some shoes - what were the pedi somethings that someone recommended before? the only tots ones around here are pale blue or pink neither of which we like. and there are no others....

not much else to report here - dh is all down and depressed - stres of me being pregnant and him feeling pressured to loo kafter us and provide - he was just like this when we were first pg with jacob. had a huge row yesterday because the movers managed to lose some chair cushions and all our christmas decorations so i have to get on to the insurers and get some money for them - trying to remember all the decs is a bit much, and most of them were from those little stores that you'll never go to again so will have to buy a whole load more this year. o'h well, more shopping for me .

have booked to go and see father christmas at harrods - it's free! hamleys are only doing some breakfast thing which is £30 per child and accompanying adult!!!!! so £90 for us, and ds not even 2!!!!!

Not much else to report - bloss how are you feeling?

cb we counted our dates and got lucky the first month we did it properly - basically i reckon if you just have loads of sex around mid month you should be ok? but then that's just me!!!

AnnieOneSeenMyPumpkin · 22/10/2007 16:47

Evening all.

Just had quite a busy day at work today. What's that all about?

We had a good sleep last night (YAAAAAAY!) after two fairly distastrous nights.
I started getting K to sleep in her room, so instead of bringing her back out to the living room/Coronation St/my glass of wine I sat in with her. I still picked her up all the time, and sat with her though. Can't have her crying very long or Joey will wake and then there'd be two screamers and I just can't take it anymore!
However, she woke about four times before I went to bed, I managed to get her back to sleep in her room, but once I went to bed myself and she woke again, I took her into bed with me as usual. She didn't sit on my head until this morning though, so even after all that, we slept well enough.

God I do go on about it don't I?! Sorry girls. Feel free to ignore

Went to Paradise Wildlife park again on Saturday. It really is great there. And the PENGUINS are there now!!!

Lysette, Pedipeds are what you are looking for. They're soft, and they are really cute. They mightn't last him long though, if he taking some steps by now? Not proper walking shoes.
Stones and Bones do good first walking shoes, if you are trying to avoid clarks. Or, what we do, is get him fitted at clarks (if he's walking) and then go on eBay and get the right size there. I've paid about £3 for most of Joey's shoes and they are in really good condition cos they grow out of them so quickly.
But then I do have a DH who is a tight arse.

Your poor DH. Hope you two make it up! Bummer bout the insurance things though.

When's the Harrods Father Christmas thing???? Sounds good, might go too!!

HC, hope you are feeling better again

Impy at those Teeves. Good on you for stopping them though.

Best go, time to sneak off early(ish)

Annie (Tip Of the Day Still!)

TheGoddessBlossom · 22/10/2007 20:09

had a nice weekend up with my cousin, jeez Toby was hard work though, sooooooooo clingy. He creates merry hell if I so much as take two steps away from him. Has started waking at night too, wanting cuddles. Harry was good as gold though all weekend, bless his little heart.

Just taken delivery of my brand spanking new dishwasher! Made DH wash up last week once and he ordered a dishwasher the next day! Should have done it months ago.

Bye bye bye KZ! Good luck sweetheart! Hope the move goes ok, thinking of you!

Ooooh, Impy, how horrible, well done you for cottoning on, I'd have been completely oblivious I expect.

2nd interview is next Monday morning. More time to prepare/stress!

Hi to everyone.

Hi everyone

Gosh its been so long, been keeping upto date with posts then never seem to have the time to post myself

charlotte is doing great, loving this stage she randomly comes up to me during the day to give me cuddles and is always bringing a book over for me to read her.

She walking pretty well now and seldom loses her balance, she just loves the park now that shes on the move, the park near us has a seperate enclosed area for very young with spongy kind of ground and it has a small tunnel she loves crawling through and walking all around it getting faster each day

As for shoes, we took dd to get feet measured in clarkes last week, but i didnt really like any of the shoes so we took her to next and got a lovely pair there, is that really bad, are clarkes best for their feet?

Been looking at elc catalogue trying to figure out what to buy dd for christmas, i guess this is the last year before 'i want' so should save money while we can

ok, ive started rambling so better go before this turns into a huge essay.
will try to post more often.

good night ladies xx

jacobandTheMummylysette · 23/10/2007 10:33

annie it starts on 1 november - you have to go onto the website, go into the news section on the left hand side and then look for the christmas stuff. it's fairly easy to find. completely booked up for weekend visits now though, so we are having to go mid week.

we are going to keep going with the tip toey joey shoes i think and just get MIL to send some over from NZ.

pretty - charlotte sounds adorable - i sometimes get the random cuiddles and kisses but more often than not accompanied by a nip at the end...

well red cheeks and sore bottom this morning so hopefully some teeth on the way, although i've lost count of the amount of times i've repeated that mantra!!!

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 23/10/2007 11:38

Hi all-well, Sophie ill again She is not eating at all so is shrinking by the minute. She doesn't eat much on a good day as she insists on feeding herself but can't and won't let me help. Bet she is less than 21 lb now.

Have tidied (with Sophie's help ) Em's absolute tip of a bedroom. Took 2.5 hours . Wonder how long it will stay like that bearing in mind the amount of new toys Father Christmas will bring. Heaven knows what will happen when she moves into Sophies's room if we are successful in having No3.

Bloss-you'll walk your interview. I dress up in smart clothes and heels for my little WW job and it does feel good for a few hours. Still not ready for a 9-5pm job as I want to be the one to look after the girls if they are poorly-hated sending Em to MIL when she was poorly. Do think I will end up back at work one day-would love to train as a midwife.

Nice to hear from you Beadmum-Charlotte is doing well isn't she? I have been looking through the Argos book and Toymaster and Boots books. Have already ordered a stack from Studio cards. Am officially drawing my Christmas fund money out next Tuesday and going Christmas shopping. Do buy bits online though-less stressful!

Sophie having a nap so better press on. Did I mention that last Friday when DH was off he sat at the kitchen table all day while I pottered as usual. He said 'you're busy, are you always like this?' Er, yes. Does he really think I sit and Mumsnet/Facebook all day? Probably

Have a lovely day girls

sorry beadmum calling you pretty - preg head!

HC my dh is just the same - he says so what have you done today - well.....raising our son mostly! He's coming home in the most foul of moods at the moment I don't even want to talk to him generally! he saw my new mat jeans last night and said "you've got to make sure you don't look too eurotrashy..." i think i muttered f off under my breath, rather loudly!

bloss - agree with hc and meant to say earlier - you'll be gret in the interview!

AnnieOneSeenMyPumpkin · 23/10/2007 14:08

Hiya girls,

Because I know you are all rivetted to my sleep story, here's the latest installment:
Put her in her cot, played, sang, fidgetd for about 45 minutes. Cried hysterically. Picked her up. Sleep.
Woke as soon as I went to bed and came in the bed with me, stuck to my cheek.
It's only the second night.
Slept well once we were in bed though, considering.

HC, poor Sophie and poor you. Please all get better soon. LOL at you Mning/Facebooking/Scrabulousing all day! AS IF!

Lysette, looked at the Harrods thing, I can't get it to work on my computer, I'll try when I go home. How's your DH behaving today?!

Beadmum, Charlotte sounds adorable!

Bloss, best of luck on Monday! You will be great.

That'll do for now!!
Laters

MaeWhooooohest · 23/10/2007 14:17

Annie - sorry you're still having sleep traumas, I feel your pain. Feel guilty saying it, but DS has suddenly started sleeping much better recently (bar illness and teething). Is K's cot still in your room? Maybe go with co-sleeping for a bit if it means you get some rest? Sounds like you've managed to get away from milk at night tho, which is a start - this is when DS started improving, although it could have been co-incidence

Mind you I'm a lazy mama and I've just given in on the co-sleeping thing, if DS wakes up at 4am and he'll go back to sleep in our bed, then I go with it. He's stopped wriggling quite so much so it's a bit more successful on the sleep front for me now. He woke up yelling the place down at about 2.30 this morning but by the time I had fallen out of bed and got over to the door (convinced his head had become wedged somewhere painful at the very least) it had all gone quiet again. Leaving me with a racing pulse...

Anyroad, back to work

jacobandTheMummylysette · 23/10/2007 15:49

annie you poor thing! still! we went through some tough times with jacob sleeping and co slept with him for a while. he is a bit better now and generally wakes once yelling for food and then again at about 5 when he would get up but we bring him in with us with some milk to get a sneaky extra couple of hours

AnnieOneSeenMyPumpkin · 23/10/2007 15:54

Thanks Mae!
No, K's cot is in her and Joey's room. We've been co-sleeping since Joey was about five months! Then once Kayley was born, we slowly got him to sleep in his own cot at first, and then in his own room eventually, at 20 months! So once he was out, she was in...
It's just pure laziness really on my part, (shall we from a Lazy Mamas Group on Facebook!) but I'm now quite determined to slowly peter it out and get some space!
I know it will work eventually, I'm aiming for 20 months!! So only another five months of it. I just can't bear the crying. And then waking the other one up!
She still has a few swigs of milk as well, though it has reduced a lot lately.

Just gotta get on with it!

Thanks for listening though!

x

AnnieOneSeenMyPumpkin · 23/10/2007 15:54

And you Lysette!

See, I know it'll get better.

Hi girls

Hope you are all ok!! I am soooo depressed being home in this cold weather boo hoo. Have realised that i am not all that keen on my job either but short of winning the lottery i (like many others) will just have to get on with it

DD1 is really unwell still. Finally took her to out of hours service and got an antibiotic which hopefully will knock everything on the head. Her wee sample showed signs of bacteria which is probably a UTI so fingers crossed.

Annie,i only got 6 mozzie bites the whole time i was away. i did everything you suggested so thank you!! I normally get dozens and feel crap so made for a much better holiday.

Gonna have to read back the posts now so hello to everyone xx
