Nite girls

Me and DH are getting to the end of a bottle of vino here, but he's got football hardness thuggery crap on, so I'm back on here!

Who wants to play scrabulous with me and HC, we're nearly finished our game??? What'dya reckon HC, good game, good game, close one. Still not over though!
BTW you look fab. I wish I had your resolve for losing weight. I just like my beer too much, and food. And choc. And sitting...
Size 12 for a short arse is a bit frumpy from where I'm sitting, what with muffin tops and spare tyres etc. I know Im not Huge, but I'm larger than I would like. Not a big deal I know compared to a lot of people, and it doesn't Really matter I know. But I would like to be a skinny mare again!

Bloss, well done missus. the grass is always greener on the other side, I say. When you're working you want to be at home with the babies, when you're at home, they drive you mental and you can't wait to get to work! But whatever you do, I'm sure will be the best for you. When you're pregnant, you ALWAYS want to give up work IME!! You'll be great!

KZ, LOL at Roshi's methane blast!! Poor Chili! K has been wearing lots of Joey's stuff, but being a NO PINK PLEASE person, I purposely got her some pink stuff to stop her looking like a boy!! As it is she wears jeans and tops with wisps of pink. Her hair is getting a bit longer now though, so she may start to look more girly soon! And my bessie mate bought her her first Dolly!!!

Cb... men eh? Silly man! We all know best cos we've done it, and he never has and never will.

Kayley has been scratching herself to bits the last few nights, bleeding and everything. Tomorrow we have an appointment for her to have her wet wraps, so HopeFully that'll help her. Poor Mimi...

Impy, hope Ry is better soon. Nowt wrong with size 12, only I'm only 5' 2" !! It's this settling down and learning to cook curry I blame... And the fecking drugs! Least I've stopped the steroids now so I should be able to shake it off, providing I stop eating and drinking (mostly drinking)
I'm not a big drinker though. Honest.

Right, I'm off to check scrabulous, and then leaba (bed for you non Irish!)

Can you tell I've had a few tongiht?!
Sorry girls!!

NITE!!!
(WUV U all!)

jacobandTheMummylysette · 11/10/2007 16:34

it's official i'm fed up with BT - wasted about 20 mins of a paid phone call because our broadband is all over the place for the guy to tell me there is no problem and i have had no interruption of service!

and wrote a huge long post for it to be swallowed up into oblivion...

impy i haven't heard that about section babies but it would make sense - jacob is always suffering from a cough / cold, but we were told preemies are more prone to it though

bloss i'm with k - if you don't like it after a month you don't have to do it! but sounds like you are ready for that challenge again?

jacob still doing lots of standing. today he is being very retro and wearing his dad's olf knitted coat from 1970 - he looks a bit like a mini jedi knight as it doesn't have buttons down the front, just hangs like a robe!

anyway will be back later if the broadband lets me!

bloss- good luCk with the second part of your interview, im sure you'll breeze through it!! it feels good to get away from home and from being a mother for a few hours, and for us, it gives dp more time by himself with the kids!

i still need to get jniors feet measured, bught him a pair of trainers but theyre too big!

and.... we've booked our holiday to go jamaica in march for 3weeks!!!! i cant wait, its mine and the dcs firs trip out there! we'll be going with dps family should fun and with a lot of rum included!!! yay!!

im going to go onto facebook now and try ad figure out how to play scrabulous(is that what its called?)

hope everyone has alovely evening!! x

kbaby · 11/10/2007 21:46

Ds is still waking. I have been cuddling him and putting him back but he starts crying again and is now waking DD as he is so loud. Shes tired looking and grouchy so tonight ive decided that if he wakes he can just come into bed with me as im too tired to argue. Also cried for 20 mins at bed time which is unusual for him. Wish I knew what was going on in his little head.

Im with ceebee on the pink debate. I love it which as just as well with DD as its her favourite too.
Don?t blame you for feeling smug, im the same about a childfree couple who lectured me about why DD was waking at night etc then had to stifle a laugh when they did have a baby who woke constantly and is now also having huge tantrums.

Bloss- Glad the interview went well. Do you know when the 2nd one will be.

DH is out(yet again) on some work function so ive been left trying to shop with 2 los? at 6pm(not the best time to take to whingy children), put it all away and get them to bed tonight. Supposed to be going out tomorrow night but I cant really gather any enthusiasm for it.
SSS- how long away is it to the move now?

Morning girls

Last day of work before i go on my hols yeehah!!!

Well good news ds1 has got himself a job!! He has a contract for 10 hours (Fri and Sun night) with a view to more hours if he wants them. It's in a supermarket so hope he sticks at it. I have to keep him off school today so he can do an 8-5 induction day. He is half day at school anyway but do feel a little guilty.

DH went for a job interview on Tuesday but will be ages before he hears anything. It's in the same company but better money so fingers crossed. He will be away 1 or 2 nights a week so i don't know how either of us will cope with that.We don't spend night apart ever

Spin, can't believe you are nearly away home. The time has flown hey? It will be great for the kids and you to be with your families too.

Annie, you are the mozzie expert arn't you?? How do i prevent them biting me on holiday. They really love me and i end up with tons of bites. I got a spray with 100% deet? Is there anything i can do/take?

Eilidh is s grumpy thing atm, prob cos she's been not well but it is a pita. Dh has worked lots of extra hours in the lead up to us going away(hoping his guys don't bomb when hes not there)and i haven't been to the gym so feel pissed off at being at home.

My DB and his partner have magically managed to book a holiday 15 minutes down the road from where we are at exactly the same time. Strange hey?

Better go and make sure ds1 is ready to leave for his induction. I actually feel a bit tearful cos he looks so grown up and mature and fuck me i gave birth to it!!!!

Ds1 was a bit arsey about me going to the meet up here in December. Said i'll arrive to a room full of balding 50 yr old perverts lol. They just don't get the MN thing do they??

have a good day girls and big hello's to everybody xxx

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 12/10/2007 12:50

agalch-have an excellent time and try and chill, chill, chill and ignore the annoying ones!

spin-it all seems so final &

Lurvely sunny day.

AnnieOneSeenMyPumpkin · 12/10/2007 14:58

Have a good time algach. On the mozzie front, unfortunately, if they like you, they like you. They just go for some people and not others (not something I've been 'researching'!) All I can advise is use your repellant, specially on your ankles and wrists, and wear long sleeves/trousers. Those insect coils are quite good, if it was safe to have one burning in your room in the evenings. Evenings are when they want to feed most. If you do get bitten, then tea tree oil is good for the bites. Sorry not much help really. I can tell you about an Anopheles stephensi line expressing the Dsred reporter under the vitellogenin promoter if you like, but I don't think it would be very helpful at stopping you getting bitten...

KZ will you miss ole London at all?
Whipps X wasn't great either for the hygiene, but nothing as bad as that happened. In fact, with DS I was the one who made the mess in the bathroom! I didn't know if I stood up it would just all decide to flow out?! I did call someone straight away though.

Pretty, I love making curry! And eating it! I bet your mum does Fabaroony ones. I only got a few recipes off the web and practised. Easy really. Just a cupboard full of spices!
Can be impressive though, when friends come round for dinner!!

Kayley had her first night in her wet wraps last night. And yes, we did sleep better. Still woke a couple of times, but a lot less scratching. In fact it was only this morning really she started at it again, so tonight I'm going to put even more cream on before wrapping her. She's teething as well at the moment so that doesn't help.
The new protopic cream on her face seems to be helping too, though it is early days.

Have a lovely weekend now, everyone!

(HC I'll be on later to make my move! Hi to Gerald x x)

Wallace · 12/10/2007 19:27

Still around, never seem to have any time to post proper posts, just pop on and off...

Hope everyone is fine, we are all okay apart from dh's torn ligaments in his knee (did I tell you about that?) and I sprained m,y ankle so no half marathon for me on Sunday

I did have an amusing anecdote to tell you about Leo, but can't remember what it was...

MaeWhooooohest · 13/10/2007 16:02

Annie - I was born in Whipps X, and my youngest bro (middle one came a bit quicker than expected in our front bedroom). My mother does not have good things to say about it, but that was 20 yrs ago... In fact youngest bro has just moved out of home to Leytonstone and my mum said it was a bit weird driving him and all his stuff past the maternity unit.

Mum has been staying for a few days, lovely to have her around. Dom has not been his usual sunny self, we think it's teeth, flaming red cheeks and off his food (v unlike him).

Glad packing is going well, Roshi sounds like such a cutie. Dom does the draping things over his head too.

Hi Wallace and Twink, long time no post

ceebeegeebies · 13/10/2007 19:18

Hi all hope you are all having a good weekend.

Just a quickie before the rugby starts (sorry KZ and Lysette ).

Went to look at a brand new nursery today - it has been purpose-built so it was, of course, lovely. All nicely decorated, huge garden area etc. but have decided to leave Josh where he is. He is very happy and settled and I guess surroundings aren't that important if the care is good - more important that Josh is happy. They didn't have any spaces in the 0-2 room anyway so it was all irrelevant in the end

Also, a neighbour came round today (that I don't really know) - she is a massage therapist and is learning to instruct people how to do baby massage. To get her qualification, she needs to do 3 case studies so she wondered if me and Josh would do it - I get 3 free sessions of her teaching me how to do baby massage - am well chuffed cos I always wanted to learn but never found any classes when Josh was a baby. I know it is a bit late now for Josh but it will come in very handy for baby no 2! The only thing I am worried about is that there is no way Josh is going to sit still for an hour whilst I practice!! I hope she realises that

Right chilled vino blanco awaits.....have a good evening x

HumphreysCauldronCorner · 13/10/2007 20:16

Have got a new washer hip, hip, hurrah!!! Not integrated though so can't hide it behind a door like the old one but it is silver so looks nice.

Hi Wallace-your ankle sounds nasty and DH's ligaments. Gosh, how on earth did he manage that?

Have yet another sore throat so will be yet another early ish night.

Love to all

Hi all!

Went crazy last night and booked a babysitter so we could go out for a posh curry - woo hoo! This morning was my turn to get up early with the Ryster though - so am pretty pooped....

Hope Kayley's wet wraps are working well now Annie - poor little mite.

KZ - saw the mooncup thread - so now see where your new name's from - v tempted to get one for myself after reading all those positive posts..... Chili's school sound fab - bet you'll be sobbing your heart out! I know I would - but then anything sets me off! Have you found an Oz-themed book to read?

Sounds like teething Kbaby - Ry has been v unsettled just lately and he's got a huge molar coming through, poor love.

Sorry you're missing the marathon Wallace - what a bummer after all that training. Hope you're fighting fit soon. I sprained my arm in the bath weeks ago (I know - wtf???!!) and it still gives me gip. Must start doing pilates or something again - my body's a wreak!

Hurrah about the massage CB! Coolio. I'm sure Josh will love it... for a minute!

Ry's still got his cough (thanks for all the well wishes) but it's getting better - I think it was compounded by his teething. He had a fever one night and I was really worried about him but he's just getting on with baby life now and trying not to let his gums and cough do his head in. My mate brought over In The Night Garden and Ceebeebies dvds and he's sat transfixed in front of Tickabilla at the mo so I can have a few minutes peace from "get that out your mouth/stop climbing on/don't bang your head etc etc"....

Have a great Sunday. Impy xxx

prettymum · 14/10/2007 09:06

junior is becoming to expensive for us!! he broke broke the printer the other day, so had to replace it!
now the cd player doesnt read cds and the bloody dvd player which dd loves isnt reading dvds! he loves pressing buttons and has found out which one does what, now we have to replace them!

start work at 11 so just killing time by watching telly, so will catch up later, hope everyone has a lovely day, looks sunny out there although chilly.

Wallace · 14/10/2007 20:21

prettymum - Leo is the same, just wrecks the place! He has figured out how to open the cdrom drive..oh dear!

Impy - lol at spraining you r arm in the bath I did my ankle running after Leo! Lucky you with Ry watching television, Leo is just starting to show an interest...can't wait until it will keep him quiet

HC - Dh was on a motorbike (His nephew's at a racetrack, but only in the paddock) and a car pulled out in front of him. It was either hit the car, or hit the ground. He chose the ground. The driver just yelled at him and drove off

ceebee - lucky you with the massage, Leo loved it. Have I missed something, I know you are ttc, but are you pg?

Maewest - hi hope dom is feeling better

Does anyone else have a climber?

Leo is terrible, and can climb anything [clutching head in despair emoticon] We just got a new dining table and chairs (just had kitchen table with benches before)and is always climbing on the chairs, and onto the table... The seat bit fell off one of the chairs, and I thought I wouldn't bother screwing it back in straight away because at least that would mean Leo couldn't climb on it. Two minutes later I turned round and there he was standing holding onto the back of the chair, one foot on each side of the chair, stradding the gap!

agalch · 14/10/2007 20:54

Evening

Off to Turkey in the morning so see you all next week.

Annie got my sprays and long pj's so fingers crossed lol.

Take care xxxx

kbaby · 14/10/2007 21:24

Shock news!!! I went jogging today for the first time in 3 yrs. Went while it was dark so that I couldn?t be recognised by anyone. My bum cheeks were wobbling so much they were stinging. Just have to keep at it now. I think I did 2 miles but not sure.

Ds is still waking most nights and today was fine until 5pm and then just whinged about everything and if you told him he couldn?t have something he collapsed in tears. Didn?t want to eat his dinner either, was quite happy eating off everyone elses plates or finger food but no meal. Cant put my finger on whats wrong(checked his gums and no sign of anymore teeth). Its difficult in the nights to decide if hes waking because theres something bothering him or just because its now become a habit. Don?t know if I should do CC or not. Agalch- its very tiring isn?t it?

SSS- 2 weeks OMG are you excited or nervous? Cant remember but does your DH already have a job arranged out there?
Impy- DS loves baby Einstein, only the ones with the animals though.
Wallace- Glad your DH was ok. Yes we have a climber. We have open stairs and DS has realised that if he crawls under the back of the bottom step and up he gets to the bottom of the stairs. So it means even though we have a stair gate on its useless.

Have a good holiday Agalch.

Wallace-FFS-Bloody car drivers. Honestly, it is only when you have been on a bike do you realise that it is the car drivers that are the maniacs on the road. Give DH a biker hug from me.

Mooncups-what, what, what, what, what??????

agalch-have an excellent time.

kbaby-well done girl. Don't get joggers nipple though

Still feel pretty crap so hoping to feel better tomorrow as I have 4 hours of work for WW.

Hi Girls, soz not been on much, but am keeping up with posts.
Still have the parents here from Oz, so time saved in having extra hands to look after Emma is immediately swallowed up by long dinners etc etc?

Spin ? sounds like you?re a powerhouse of organisation at the mo
Glad the Mooncup is working out, it took me a few months but I?m a definite convert now ? so girls, if you were ever thinking about it, go for it! (HC ? do a search, it?s worth it, I promise!!)

Wallace and Kbaby at the climbers and Leo straddling the gap - clever boys!

Emma?s not that nimble yet, she can get up a normal flight of stairs like a rat up a drainpipe, but still not walking, very nearly there though.

Have a great time in Turkey Agalch ? do lots of chilling if you can!

Prettymum ? bummer about the equipment Know what you mean, Emma has worked out how to turn the DVD on, and has also found some secret buttons on the side of the TV that turn off the picture

Hi Impy Glad Ry?s cough?s better, hope the curry was good! Emma loves Night Garden, it?s funny how some things just grab them.

Ceebee ? sounds like the right decision about nursery, much better that he likes the people than any fancy décor.

Annie ? size 12 is weeny so enjoy your wine and curry Hope Kayley improves with the wet wraps. xx

Hope you?re feeling better tomorrow HC

Well done on the job interview Bloss ? whatever happens, sounds like you?re doing fab

Emma?s funny ? loves shoes, keeps trying mine on, going ?shussss?, going to have to watch that girl?

Hi to everyone, catch up later in the week xxx

TheGoddessBlossom · 15/10/2007 09:43

morning girls.

T in bed, H at school, bliss.

Have had a rough few days again, DH worked all weekend and I didn't realise how much difference it would make not having him around to help, but it kind of tipped me over the edge a bit yesterday. Completely lost it with H out of a walk with my sister, he had whinged all the way there, and was whinging all the way home, trod trough dog poo, got it all over the buggy and Toby when he sat on the top and I hadn't realised, not his fault of course but so stressful. In the end the rest mist descended and I thrust him bodily down on the ground, screaming "Fine just SIT THERE THEN I DON'T CARE" and stomped off. A parenting high. Glad it was only my sister that witnessed it.

Until a month or so agao, I would have been annoyed and stressed by it, but I think would have realised that it was cos he was tired and hungry and would never have got so cross with him, so why do I now? I've also smacked him more recently too, which I am totally against in principle, and hate doing and am really miserable about. How can I teach not to hit to my two boys when their own mum does it?

Toby is a whole other story - he has been the clingiest kid this past week. Yesterday it got so bad I had to abandon all attempts to drink fluid/eat/go to toilet and just sit on the floor with him. If I moved he followed me, trying to pull my trousers down, holding his arms up to be picked up, shouting in rage or crying. Very sore bum again so I think more teeth? Who the hell knows...

They do, however, sleep like angels, albeit only till about 6am, but sympathies to those still waking.

Annie, I am glad Kayley's wet wraps seem to be helping!

Algach have a wonderful holiday you lucky bugger.

KBaby, go girl, well done you, LOL at the sore bum cheeks.

Wallace sorry about your injuries en famille! I fell off a motorbike once and sprained my ankle, hurt like a bastard! Toby is a climber too, fave thing to do at the moment is to climb onto the toilet seat, and try to get my tothbrush by leaning over the sink, cue crash and screams if I don't get out of the shower in time to catch him. Another thing with T is an obssession with baby wipes. He has to have one in his hand at all times, and just saunters around with it, eating it, pretneding to clean surfaces with it etc. I have to constantly swap it for a clean one, as they get so minging and they are all over the car.

KZ - good luck on the continued packing and planning, it's so exciting!

Planning presentation for second interview, which should be next week sometime, and interviewed a nanny last week...

Impy ? Josh is a Night Garden fanatic too ? he is mesmerised by it whenever it is on. He even clicks his tongue in time to the Pontipines eyes closing when they are going to sleep ? very cute! Dh wants to get him a dancing Igglepiggle for Christmas but they are £35 which seems a tad expensive to me!

Wallace ? you haven?t missed anything ? I was talking theoretically about baby no. 2 . In fact, whilst I am on the subject, I think I have finally decided that last night?s pill was going to be the last one I take so I guess we are officially TTC now (I am scared just writing that tbh!)

Sympathies to all of you with climbers ? fortunately Josh has never attempted to climb anywhere (apart from the stairs) ? not even onto the sofa or chairs. I guess I should be thankful for that as I know I can leave him in a room and he won?t have got upto any mischief.

Kbaby ? well done with the jogging. It is often that first time that is the worst ? and 2 miles is great for a first time in 3 years .

Spin ? good luck with all the packing etc ? it must be so difficult, especially with 2 young children to look after aswell. Things just won?t be the same here even though I know you will still be around.

Bloss ? {{{{{hugs}}}}} to you ? I wouldn?t worry too much about what happened yesterday ? I am sure H has forgotten about it already. I have no advice re smacking etc but you really are a good mum so don?t think that you aren?t

Took Josh to Blackpool illuminations yesterday ? was fab! Spent the afternoon walking down the sea front, drove through the illuminations once it had got dark and then stopped for fish and chips - yum yum!

TheGoddessBlossom · 15/10/2007 18:48

CB Blackpool sounds fab, what a fun afternoon! EEEEEK re TTC, good luck hon!

MUCH better day today. Just didn't seem to have anger just boiling under the surface for some reason, felt calmer, more in control and more able to cope. Didn't get cross with H once. And Toby played independently for almost an hour after a dose of Calpol. I think his teeth are really hurting him poor little mite.

Made the most of the calm and have made a chicken casserole for our tea and made the boys a potato and cheese gratin which was bloody lovely even if I say so myself!

Took Toby swimming this morning he loved it. He fell down the stairs when we got back though, only a few steps but has a nice big carpet burn/bump on his head, ouch.

The boys did a photo thing a couple of weeks ago, something made available at H's pre-school, and saw the proofs today. They are absolutely adorable, they have some fantastic shots of the boys together, lying on the floor looking up cracking up laughing for example and one of H lying down with his head on one elbow and Toby leaning over him, both grinning, and one each of them in full run, they are fabulous. Needless to say have coughed up the £45, can't wait for DH to see them.

No booze week this week, sigh, boooooooring. Am drinking far too much at the moment and I don't think it is helping my moods. Wake up a little dry, a little fuzzy, and too early which I think is the booze acting as a stimulant now that I am getting older. It never used to but seems to now. 3 LARGE glasses of wine EVERY night is too much. But MAN I could do with one now. Ribena just isn't the same...

Right off to get H in bed.

Have good nights all!
