balls....

aitch's blw site

....try again

mygirllollipop · 15/05/2007 10:14

Staceym11 - BLW's so much more relaxed! I have done it to some extent with all mine. Hope DD is OK re her nose bleed.
Charlee -DD1 has one of those chicks in yellow she loved it! We're getting raspberries and clicks from DD4 (where she clicks her tongue on the roof of her mouth IYSWIM?). I am SO glad you feel better for having the balls to ring them up, it relaly does make a difference!
Debbsy - next Tue is good (well any day is lol). I'll email you. Hope the review decides in your favour.
Sara - you are right NJ not been about for a bit, hope all is well love. Congrats on your parents moving closer. I got the MN email about baby's development at 6m and it said that they realise although they can't see you they remember you exist so maybe that's why they cry when you put them down, although with DD4 she still cries when I put her down even if she can see me!

fatbetty · 15/05/2007 11:10

I tried Madeleine with pear last night and that didn't seem to bother her - she didn't seemed too impressed by it either. Think I will try to mix a bit of it with baby rice this afternoon. But she did sleep better last night. We came back from a holiday in the States a few weeks ago and maybe her schedule is still all over the place.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 16/05/2007 09:16

morning everyone!

mygirl, yeah dd seems fine now thanks, think she was more freaked out than anything!

well going to see my bro today in hospital (hes still not had his op on his arm, but dont even get me started on that!!!!

well thats true for ds my girl, if i go out the room he screams until i come back (or if dd does for that matter) doesnt lik being left alone! silly little thing!

i must get on before we go to the hospital so will talk later!

NatalieJane · 16/05/2007 10:12

Hello everyone

Sorry I have been away, our internet has been down since last Tuesday, it has been a complete pain in the arse, I haven't been able to check my bank or anything, it still isn't on now, we had to go and buy a modem and I am dial up at the moment paying fuck knows how much a minute so I'm not staying today, but I have read the whole thread (thanks for the new thread BTW Charee!) forgotten most of it, but it sounds like there have been a few poorly babies I hope they are all better now.

Stacey, I hope your Brother is doing OK - what a scare for you all.

Charlee, glad you got that awful troll of a woman sorted out - good on you!!

George is still BF exclusively, he is showing major signs of wanting food, but I am really trying to wait another couple of weeks till he is 6 months, he is still sleeping through though if that changes I might change my mind!! He has had a couple of marathon feeds though, on Saturday we didn't get out of bed until 3 in the afternoon because he was just feeding constantly!!! I read a whole book And he is now sitting up more steadily and is so close to crawling which will be cute, DS1 never crawled.

Right I am off before my phone bill goes through the roof, will try and get back on tonight when it is cheaper, if not I will be back whenever our internet is! Take care everyone xxx

LeBe · 16/05/2007 10:57

Hi everyone. Sorry I havent got time to read all your posts, dp isnt well and ds is grumpy. Just wondered if anyone knew what soft cheese you can give to a baby. I read a recipe for baby sandwiches and it said use soft cheese but I though it wasnt allowed before 1yr?

podglet · 16/05/2007 12:22

Lebe - think you can use things like Dairylea triangles when they say soft cheese?

NJ - what a bummer for you - we were wondering where you were! Hope you get it sorted soon. Am v that you have nearly got to 6 months exclusive bf. I bf til 6 months but DS was on 2 meals a day by that point as well.

Debbsy - fingers crossed for you - how long do you have to wait to hear?

Stacey - DB still hasn't had his op??? Poor him. You must all be hopping mad.

ok, another thing they don't tell you in the baby manuals is that the first teeth are sharp DS was giving me "kisses" this morning and caught my cheek with his first tooth which has just come through and it hurt

ok, off to do sir's lunch, take care all

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 16/05/2007 13:16

well woohoo db had his op this morning! didnt manage to visit but i dont care at least its finally done!! now hes got 6 weeks in plaster! hes not gunna be impressed with that!

right must get on with my housework, but not before i let everyone know my son has eaten 5-7 oz every bottle for the last 2 days! yipee!

laughalot · 16/05/2007 14:17

Sorry to crash onto thread can someone let natalie j know that jenswish is pregnant thanks xxxx

LeBe · 16/05/2007 15:02

Thanks Podglet, I gave him philadilphia light spread, but only spread it thin and he loved it, wolfed the whole sandwich down! i was really glad, I think the no eating thing was down to wanting to feed himself cos now im giving him stuff other than puree he is fine again!

Glad your db has finally had his op stacey, hope he gets better real soon, and well done with the botte feeding too.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 16/05/2007 17:06

lebe, my dd hated puree and wanted lumps even before she had teeth, she had no problem being fed (still hasnt at 2.6) but she despised puree, whereas ds isnt bothered, if its puree he'll eat it, if its fingerfood he'll eat it! lol, he just likes eating!

mygirllollipop · 16/05/2007 17:18

DD3 never liked purees particularly always preferred pieces of toast etc. Forgot to say DD4 was eating full on rice yesterday after nicking it from our plates. I even made rice pudding! Get me!
Good news about yr bro's op Stacey.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 16/05/2007 17:26

mygirl i gave ds chicken tikka (not too hot) when we were eating it the other day, he was very impressed!!!

btw mygirl hows the home schooling going now you've got dd4?

mygirllollipop · 16/05/2007 20:15

Yup, one piece of DD4 rice had some tikka masala on!
Homeschooling going a bit worse since DD4 arrival! You can prob guess her feed times by my posting times! The girls can get on with work though even when DD3&4 acting up.

LeBe · 16/05/2007 20:48

Need to ask you all some advice (sorry its all I do!) DS is now a pro that turning right on to his tummy and has decided to so this in his sleep. The result being him turning on his tummy then crying until I put him back on his back, I was up to him about 7 times last night. He doesnt eem to wake up while its all happening (well he doesnt open his eyes) Ive tried putting him nearer the side so he cant turn but he bangs himself and cries anyway????
Any ideas, thankyou x

Charleesunnysunsun · 16/05/2007 21:39

Just wanted to sayhi, i am online doing a bit of family research so am really busy but i iwll post tommorrow.

Lebe i'm really not sure harry rolls on his tummy while awake then cries because he doesnt like it, maybe a sleeping bag to stop his legs wriggling so easy?

OP posts:
fatbetty · 16/05/2007 22:08

LeBe, I can't remember how old DS1 and DS2 were when they started doing that - but always figured they could move about more then they would be okay (probably completely wrong here). Maybe try a sleeping bag or roll up a towel on both sides of him.

Madeleine was a nightmare again last night with her sleeping. Ended up putting her in bed with us just so that we could get sleep ourselves. At the moment she is sleeping peacefully in her own bed so will be off to bed myself in a minute to get some rest.

Just found out that MIL bought kids a trampoline for our very small garden. Now trying to decide if we find a place for it or ask her to take it back. Wish she talked to us first.... We are having garden work done to our yard and hate to throw in this massive trampoline to ruin it's new loveliness. Kids would absolutely love it though......

LeBe · 16/05/2007 22:13

Hi.
DS already sleeps in a sleeping bag cos he always wriggles and never keeps blankets.
I dont think I could put towels her side cos I think I would be up all night worrying abou him suffocating (neurotic mum alert!)

fatbetty · 16/05/2007 22:18

Fold up a bath towel length ways and put your LO in the middle of the towel and the towel would be no higher than the armpit, and roll up each side. I've heard this work for others, or I think you can buy a "block" that does the same thing. I haven't tried this either, probably because I would be worrying about her all night too.

KaybeeandZak · 17/05/2007 10:00

Hi everyone
I have been missing for ages as we moved six weeks ago and have only just got broadband back! Tiscali and BT suck!

Anyway, hope everyone is ok, haven't got time to catch up on all I have been missing.

I have started another thread but wondered if any of you have any advice or have the same problem as me. DS just refuses to sleep, just screams and screams EVERY time (unless he is in the car or pushchair). I am finding it really draining, esp since he cries for about 45 mins before settling down for a half an hour nap in the morning - it's insane
Please please any thoughts would be great as I am going mad. We have him in a growbag, he has cuddly blankets, i sit with him (or even if I hold him it's the same problem really). He never took to a dummy......

saralou100 · 17/05/2007 10:12

lebe, put the towel under the sheet iyswim, ryan just shoved it out the way and caried on rolling! but it might help!

ryans getting a little so and so at night time... he will not go to sleep in his cot!! as soon as he senses it he's awake screaming!! the girls at nursey ave even commented on his hate of cots and how he very stubbornly fights going to sleep!! this ones complex... ds1 was such a chilled out baby (they said that too!) today he was up at 5, yesterday was quarter to 5 and the day before 4.30... so he's improving!!

quite proud of myself today though, i had the boys up dressed and at nursery for 7am today!! bit of practice before i go back to work... i'm usually late for everything, and usually struggle to get them their on time for 11 am!!

LeBe · 17/05/2007 10:39

Kaybee - I really feel sorry for you but dont think i could offer any advice, my ds will only sleep in his cot at bed time but atleast he does then. Do you think it could be his teeth??

Saralou - Well done you Miss Organised! Alfie has woke up early the last 2 mornings but last night he didnt wake even tho he was on his front so maybe he is getting used to it?

Was gonna rant about how s**t couriers are but cant really be bothered so I will just say... Grrrrr

saralou100 · 17/05/2007 10:48

kaybee, i think we're all suffering from the same problems at the mo... maybe it's an age thing!!!

i can't offer any help, 'cause i'm having the same woe's!!!

lebe... i suprised myself

KaybeeandZak · 17/05/2007 10:56

Ah well, it's nice to know I am not alone!! Maybe it is his teeth and they only bother him when it's time to go to sleep coz there are no distractions......

mygirllollipop · 17/05/2007 12:12

Sorry no advice about not sleeping DD3 was the same I had to stand under a certain tree in our garden - weird child.
You MUST tell us courier stories though - spill!
