I had real problems with Jack with meat so i'm being carefull this time, when do you think it's best to introduce it?

opps Charlee seems you spoke to soon! At least he went back to sleep .

My ds is poorly took him to the docs cos he wont eat or drink anything (usually he is a ganet) and he just lies there quietly when normally he is a right chatterbox (wonder where he gets that from)but he said he is really contstipated and that might be making him feel bad plus there is a lot of things going round at the mo!
Also he has never had any check apart from the weigh ins and his jabs, is he supposed too??

Charleesunnysunsun · 10/05/2007 19:11

Lebe - DS has a g.p's check up at 6 wweeks and 6 months and i think they do a feww when they are older with the H.V.
Don't worry though i'm not sure they do them in al places so just ask you H.V next time you see her.
I hope your little one is feeling better soon, constipation is very common in babies, Harry is the other way and his just falls out sometimes! [yuck face!]

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 10/05/2007 22:59

round our way we get a 6 week and a 9month and thats it i think...hmm might have to look!

ds is teething, im almost sure....(youd think id know by now wouldnt you? )....hes got a bit of a temp is horribly grizzly and wont eat a lot.....hmmmm not much sleep destined for me tonight then!!!

mygirllollipop · 11/05/2007 07:49

I wouldn't worry about it. Wen we lived up north we got a 6wk and 9m check. Down here we got a 6wk check and DD3 (2yo) got a letter from the HV for ME to do her check at 2yrs. I'm not expecting anything for DD4. They're still whinging that she's underweight FGS there was 1 weighing that was wrong, and 5 more that are acceptable but they are still going with the 1 that was way out. Sigh.

saralou100 · 11/05/2007 08:57

morning all!!

ryans teething and its making for one unhappy bubba, he wouldn't settle all evening and was hot and trying to eat his cot bars! so ended up giving him calpol and he slept right through till 7!

got my new pushchair yesterday... ooooh its lovely ~ took it out in the afternoon, put something in the shopping basket and it broke... not so lovely! which has really peed me off!! i don't want the hassle of it!!

re the health checks.. ds1 had them at 6 weeks, 8 months and 2 years.. i think it depends on where you live (postcode lottery) and what sort of funding the hv have, i think they've dropped the 8 month one here now!

mygirllollipop · 11/05/2007 09:36

I think MN should get a spell checker for this box 'Wen' 'Wen', wHen, another sigh (mind you that would stuff cod, she'd spend 4x as long checking/correcting the mistakes than she would spend typing!).

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 11/05/2007 09:39

morning all, i thought last night that ds was teething, he was still irritable had some calpol etc and slept most the night....wake up this morning and he has orange gunk pouring out of his ear! yuk!! got a nurse's appointment at 11 so hopefully they'll clean him up (i dont know what to use or how to do it!!) and give him something to help, poor little lamb!!!

LeBe · 11/05/2007 09:58

AH ALL OUR POOR BABIES!!
There must be something in the air again, ds is better this morning but still not quite himself, managed to get him to have a bit of dinner and he just looked longingly at my toast so hopefully he will eat his breakfast!
On a brighter note, had a lovely dream about David Tennant last night (hmmmm!!!)

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 11/05/2007 10:10

Lebe, just read your msg and thought i must be terrible.....you said that he looked at your toast longingly so you hope he'll eat his breakfast......my ds looked at my toast longingly so i gave him a crust!!!

LeBe · 11/05/2007 10:29

Oh Stacey dont feel bad I forgot to mention that for the last 3 days Ive given him some of my toast with jam on ad last night I gave him a chip! .
Anyway wish I had given him some of my toast cos he wouldnt eat his breakfast!!

saralou100 · 11/05/2007 11:33

mygirl.. i blame it on the keyboard.. pmsl!

stacey, poor little man, do you think he has an ear infection??

podglet · 11/05/2007 13:19

There IS something in the air - DS has a terrible snotty nose and cough. He is eating ok though and the cough meds plus the calpol seem to be helping.

Get well soon to all our babies.

Re: check ups - I think DS has one at 9 months then 2 years.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 11/05/2007 13:23

sara yeah i thought i was an ear infection, nurse has confirmed it and now hes on antibiotics! poor little lad! she asked me to go back next fri to check he hasnt got anything stuck in there as it seems strange for it to come up so bad so suddenly! ho hum!

saralou100 · 11/05/2007 13:43

get better soon little kieran xx

the joys of little boys sticking things in places they shouldn't... i'm an expert at getting stuff out of noses!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 11/05/2007 13:55

lol! i think its more likely dd stuck something in his ear acctually!

saralou100 · 11/05/2007 13:57

lol...

Charleesunnysunsun · 11/05/2007 18:55

Oh well!

Harry slep all through again last night from 6.30pm untill 6.30am then back to sleep untill 8.30am!

[feel free to smack me for being a smug cow!]

But seriously in the eating front he is like a botomless pit! We had chicken, chips and beans for tea, (Jacks choice!) Harry pushes himself over in his walker and start grabbing at it and whinging so i munch up some for him and he gobbles it all up then after eating a huge amount of my dinner he is still grabbing at Jacks so i give him a fromage frais the when i pick him up he is going mad suckling at my shirt for some milk so he then took a huge milk feed as well!

He is fast asleep now in his cot! He's been a busy bee doing push up's on his tummy trying to crawl and toddling about in his baby walker. (god send)

I have a masive coldsore i think it's the stress i have been under latley i have been so run down so a bit of sleep is like luxury!

I hope all your babies are feeling better real quickly.

OP posts:
mygirllollipop · 11/05/2007 19:46

Hmff - I don't make babies that sleep through well not til they are at leat 4yo!
Aw Stace - hope the little lad gets well soon.
DD4 tried a bit of crawling yesterday and today! It's more of a shuffle forward that proper crawling though.

Charleesunnysunsun · 11/05/2007 20:16

Harry doesn't actually crawl he roll over for a while then gets himself on his front and does kind of push up's with his arm whilst dragging his bum along after him!

Jack never crawled though or rolled over, Harry will hang onto the table and stand up for a while if you put him ther, we do obviously sit behind him ready to cath if his legs give way. He loves scooting baout in his baby walker which i know are ment to be evil but it is a god send to me and its not like he lives in it!

OP posts:
saralou100 · 11/05/2007 20:59

why are baby walkers bad????? sometimes i don't like mn for telling me these things are evil

i mean, i need somewhere to dump him!!

Charleesunnysunsun · 11/05/2007 21:06

Lol there not really evil, a little while ago there was a thing about that the goverment had said thay wern't good for babies somethng to do with development of the legs but i think they have started 'allowing' them now! Lol plus some stupid people lt there shildrne in one near a flight of stairs so children were falling down them! but surley its common sense not to let your baby go near the stairs in a walker?
I used one for Jack and now Harry as well and they have perfect little leggys!

OP posts:
LeBe · 11/05/2007 21:44

I heard that walkers were bad because of babies tipping them up and banging their heads! But I think like you say it is common sense as long as you dont leave them on their own they should be fine, but Im looking at getting one of those activity centres you know the ones like baby walkers but are stationary but have lots of toys and swivel round.
Anyway ds is now fast asleep so having a bit of me time, he is a bit better ate a little bit of dinner but wouldnt touch jis chocolate pudding!!! Defo something wrong with him if he turns down chocolate!
Anyway going to try and find something nice to eat

LeBe · 11/05/2007 21:49

OMG! My mum just sent me a piccie in an email of when I was very pregnant, I forgot how big I was, no wonder my belly looks like a bowl of jelly now!!!

Charleesunnysunsun · 11/05/2007 21:49

Harry loves Choccy pudding! He is a little bugger though he will mainly only eat fruit and puddingy things he wont touch any veg except carrotts! He will however eat anything if im eating it!
