my appeal was turned down back later

LeBe · 17/05/2007 16:15

Are you sure??..ok here we go....
Ive brought an activity table from a lovely lady here on mumsnet, she asked me about how I wanted her to send it a gave me some info and I said 48hrs for £10.99 would be fine. Bless her she stayed in all day Mon for them to collect it and they didnt come so she emailed the next morning to say they had collected it and upgraded to 24hr for the inconvienience (sp?) so I would still get it Wed. Stayed in all day yesterday and it never came so went to bed fuming! Rang this morning and the lady said the computers were down so she couldnt check, I said can you ring me when they are working? She said no you have to ring back or ring your local depot. She only gave me 10 digits to start with then when I rang they said they couldnt answer until tomorrow. Rang back the courier and they said they couldnt do anymore so I said I want my money back and she said the sender has to put in a form, I said but I paid for the postage and she said it doesn't matter. It did finally turn up but I am soooo annoyed!!!

Bet you wish you hadn't asked now

saralou100 · 17/05/2007 17:51

debs, so what does this mean? can you appeal it??? sorry chick, i know you really wanted your extra day at home

lebe... i'd be angry too... in fact i'll be angry for you anyways, now you have the table, does alfie likey?

ryan just ate broccoli, cauliflower and carrot sticks looks like i've given in tried rice earlier... disgusting wallpaper paste, no wonder he spat it out

podglet · 17/05/2007 20:56

Oh Debs, am so sorry hun, as Saralou says, can you appeal? Huge hug for you.

Hi kaybee, oddly enough, DS has just started having a paddy at nap / bed time too. If his naps are at the same time each day, how about putting him down 5 mins earlier so he is tired but not shattered? At the moment, it is only a couple of minutes of whinging for us, but it must be upsetting for you.

Lebe, no advice either I'm afraid, although when I started putting DS to sleep on his side, I used a rolled up blanket behind him to stop him crashing onto his back - perhaps you could try that on his front but low enough down to not worry you?

God, I am a fat lot of good tonight, sorry girls!

fatbetty · 17/05/2007 21:11

To those having babies with sleeping problems, have you started weening them yet? I'm going through the same thing with Madeleine not settling at night and end up sleeping with her so that I can get some rest. I'm trying to start her with some pear and baby rice at around 5pm and hoping it helps fill her up.

Charleesunnysunsun · 17/05/2007 21:13

Evening all.

Debs i'm so sorry, i hope you manage to work something out soon. [hug]

I am completley couutig out breast feeds next week, harry has just started lazily nibbling at the end on my nipple rather than actually sucking! He used to open his mouth as wide as he could and get a great latch but now he doesn't bother!

We moved both the boys into bigger car seats today, Harry was still in his travel system one but his head was hanging out the end where he is getting so tall! He seems alot bigger in a next size up one though.

He is being a complete bugger with his solids the last few days, he wont eat breakfast and is being real picky at lunch and dinner, i yhave made him up loads of food and frozen it, mostley fruit and veg purees in ice cube trays to make different combonations.

ell i am knackered i am studing so hard for my theory test and its not coming easily! The actual driving bit im fine at its the hazard perception! Im going to have to keep boning up.

OP posts:
saralou100 · 17/05/2007 21:52

i started giving ryan some food today, to see if that helps his sleep ishooos.. i'm doing blw though.. i did give him some rice to play with at about 2 and a couple of mouthfuls went in, then at 5 when ds1 had his dinnner i gave him some chopped veg to play with and some of that went in! [proud mummy emoticon]

but i think today i've managed to catch him before he got overtired, which helped. and tonight he went to bed, with much less of a drama at 7 and only grizzled a few times!

and it also helped that they where both at nursery this morning, so i had some time to recoup... it's so much easier to do stuff when their not around love my boys, but pick keys up walk out shut door... why is it so hard to leave a house with children!!!!

saralou100 · 17/05/2007 21:55

that last line doesn't make sense, but i know what i mean

it's alcohol induced problem

saralou100 · 17/05/2007 21:55

i though it strted out quite well

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 18/05/2007 08:45

hi everyone!!

sorry but have no advice on the sleeping as ds is quite good as long as i catch him before hes tired (i mean wtf?!?!?!)

well ds is still taking his bottles really well! im so happy about it, my little boy is eating again!!! have to go and get another prescription of his milk later but cant be arsed to move jsut yet!!! he has some solids but mainly its whatever we'r eating, yesterday morning he took an interest in dds weetabix so i gave him a little bit, lunch he had some carrot and cucumber sticks (will tell you why in a min) but he missed dinner because he was sleeping, oh well he didnt seem too bothered!!

oh and the carrot and cucumber sticks are because.............we finally have a tooth!!!!!!!!!!!!! my little boys growing up i never got upset when dd did these things, i think it was because i knew id have more children, but i know ds is my last and i feel a bit sadder about him getting bigger!!

mygirllollipop · 18/05/2007 09:02

Aw Debs, is this the last chance or can you appeal further. Will you look for another job or go part time?
We are nowhere near a tooth, I'd be surprised if we did this early quite frankly, I was surprised when DD3 got two at 10m, DD4 shows no signs of an imminent tooth, dribbles a little, chews on stuff (my nipples ATM - ouch!).
We don't really have sleep issues as I'm a soft touch, DD4 falls asleep feeding usually. She was a little bleep last night though, I mustn't have got enough solids in her yesterday.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 18/05/2007 09:05

oh debs i missed that post, im so sorry, can you appeal against it, i swear they have to be flexible with parents?!

mygirl, ds still wakes at midnight and between 4 and 5 am, but i dont care hes eating!!!!!! with dd at this age if she woke in the night i would have gone mental! lol

mygirllollipop · 18/05/2007 10:55

It seems I don't make babies that get teeth 'til they are at least 10m or sleep through until they are what, 4yo? That's where I'm the softie, sleep routines. DD1 was about 4yo when she had a 'routine', DD2 was (is) a quirky little thing and liked to sleep in her pushchair in the bathroom (WTF?) and was 'routined' at hmm 2-3yo. We kept trying to get DD3 in a routine but it eventually kicked in at about 15m when she stopped BF and we put her in a bed. DD4 wakes up SCREAMING HYSTERICAL if she can't see someone when she wakes up, so we've given up on the cot thing, we were thinking of trying it thi weekend though - wish us luck!

Charleesunnysunsun · 18/05/2007 21:04

Hi everyone, we have had a rough day today, poor Harry had his 3rd set of jabvs yesterday with a pneumonia one thrown in for good luck (yes i know they are late!) but today he had just layed there so subdued and projectile vomited everything hes eaten, he had a high temp which calpol brought down, but we got to epp a close eye on him as Jack was the same as thins when he has his fit with his injections! Ho hum, not much sleep for me tonight!

Hoping to spring clean the house and garden tommorrow, wether permitting!

Have a great weekeknd!

Charleesunnysunsun · 20/05/2007 20:37

I take it you have all had fab busy weekends then since its sooooooooooo quiet?

[spot the saddo on the p.c over at Charlee's house!]

Anyway Harry is ok now luckily nothing major just was grotty far a day or so.
He is drinking from a boots weaning cup now which is fab although i did think he would just throw it about he piced it up and gulped his water down like it was going out of fashion! He is also eating lumps! he had spaghetti cabonara for dinner and i left the spaghetti in little bits and he didn't seem to notice.

Stacey - If you email me hun we will arrange our meet up, have you still got my email address - [email protected], i was awarded a back pay from Jacks Disability allowence nothing huge but some to put towwards the holiday that you lovlies are collecting for! I want to go somewhere that there is loads day trips for jack to enjoy like zoo's and things maybe Butlins or somewhere similar.

Anyway i hope your all still enjoying te rest of your weekend. hug and kisses xx

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 21/05/2007 10:35

hi charlee, have emailed!!

well K is still taking his milk well (although had a manic time yesterday trying to get hold of some as ds ran out and the docs hadnt got his prescription to the chemist yet, and the chemist have to order it etc etc etc!) anyway we got some and he doing well! and hes having 3 meals a day now too! hopefully hel start putting weight on again!

havnt acctually done a lot this weekend, except that we moved ds into dds room yesterday! so last night was the first night without him in the room....was quite sad about it but he didnt disturb dd when he woke and i still heard him so im not that bothered!

right off to do my housework...ho hum!

NatalieJane · 21/05/2007 10:43

I'm back!!! Well sort of anyway. We had to buy a modem and sign up for a month of anytime - dial up - utter fucking nightmare!!! God knows when we are going to get our broadband back It takes about 40 seconds for a page to load on this, VERY GRRRRRR

Anyway, what have I missed? Still no weaning going on here, George doesn't seem to be bothered, he shows interest when we eat but he isn't showing any signs of actually wanting any, I did give him the crust of my toast yesterday to see what he did and he just made a mess TBH. He will be 6 months in 2 weeks, do they have to start weaning at 6 months? I didn't think we'd be get this far with the size of him but here we are!

I got a really funny picture of George this morning, when our internet comes back properly (and I can access our email) I will put it on my profile thingy.

Right I am off to find a house to buy in Spain xxx

saralou100 · 21/05/2007 11:21

morning

i had a shitty weekend quite frankly. ttiflw (stands for that tosser i fucking live with) went to the pub to watch the footie, but not before he chopped down a climbing plant thing in the garden, but didn't bother to clear it away... grrrr... returns home pissed as a fart at 6 o' clock, grrrr again.... then yesterday we had a horrible row before he went to work (he had a hangover) which ended with him punching a wall and he's broken some bone in his hand... well good, i hope it hurts him!!

i'm so upset with him, i just needed to rant somewhere

yet he carries on like nothing has happened

podglet · 21/05/2007 12:43

Oh Saralou - join the club. Had a horrid weekend with Himself too. He has exams this week which have put him on edge but he has been a nasty bully. Hope your fella sorts himself out and realises what a eejit he's been.

NJ - I think they recommend weaning at 6 months because that is when the babies iron store begins to get low.

Only a quick one today - we have put the flat on the market todayv and we have our first viewing tonight - need to dash round madly and ensure that all the c**p we own is hidden away - just hope they don't want to look in the cupboards...

Kif · 21/05/2007 12:49

Hullo ladies. Popping in to check up on the november babies!

The gagging thing with blw/finger foods- it's scary but it's ok, yeah?

saralou100 · 21/05/2007 13:00

lol kif, ryan does a lot of coughing so far... i sit their looking bemused and ready to pounce

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 21/05/2007 13:07

kif its completely normal.....my dd used to do it, but unless she gagged 3 times i didnt even flinch (bad mummy) and you can tell the difference between gagging and choking!

ds doesnt seem to do it as much but he eats a lot slower than dd did!

Kif · 21/05/2007 13:15

I should know - it's my second baby - but he gags and I have to sit on my hands not to intervene.

He gags on a) bits of finger food (eg banana) he's sucked off
b) anything savoury - even bleedin baby rice

sorry your dps are being dingbats - btw

podglet · 21/05/2007 14:41

Hi Kif,

DS gags on new things when I try them, but I don't tend to flinch - Stacey is right, there is a big diff between choking and gagging!

DS being really whingy today. Won't play on his own and even cried when I put him in his bouncer - that is usually guarnteed to put him in a good mood. Not sure what it is, but I suspect we may have a second tooth shortly.

mygirllollipop · 21/05/2007 17:19

Podglet - I second you with the grumpy DH's when they do exams (DH had his on Weds), and also that the weaning thing is because of iron, though I'm not sure if it makes a difference if you are BF.
Sara - men don't see problems as problems though, they are a bit like kids, you ask them to cut the plant down, they do so job done, they don't realise they need to put it in the green waste bin. Hence they think SAHMs do nothing becuase they don't consider all the things that mount up to a job. simple men are, simple. Grr though for watching the footie and getting rat @rsed, then argueing hungover. Grrr at him punching walls (not for his benefit but the kids), it's my DH's only vice.
NJ - hope you get broadband back soon!
Stacey- we used to warn the chemist that we have put a script in at the Dr.s so when it gets to them they have already ordered in the milk.
Charlee - glad Harry is feeling better after his jabs. DD$ eats lumps now, I watched her face as she was eating, wondering whether she'd take it or not, but she didn't care! She drinks out of her sister's bottle lol, should get the old cups out come to think of it.

Well, we are slowly moving towards buying this house, although I am at the estate agents, whinging cos I changed solicitors. If she loses me this house by telling the vendor that IHO the solicitors I've got is cheap because they are slow (her words) I will swing for her. I thought about getting in touch with the vendor herself but there's no phone nubmer only address which is totally not local. An estate agent came round today ready for letting the house once we leave the house was a total tip though. We haven't even given notice yet FFS!
Anyway on the upside I'm hopefully meeting Debbsy soon! She's not been around lately cos of a bad back. So hugs for Debbsy.
