Happy birthday AJM, it's our 3rd anniversary. I'm making a strawberry and passionfriut thingy from BBC food.
Sara - can't help you with hair problem, I love my hair long but there's something about it I don't like - maybe I need a new style. Mine grows a centimetre a year and is also so thin hmmmmmpfh!

NatalieJane · 12/07/2007 14:07

Hello

Happy birthday AJM!!! Have a good time tonight xxx

I have just been into town to pick a few bits up for the holiday, we are going in 4 weeks and it is the first time I have started thinking about buying things for it, I must be ill or something, me, missing out on shopping opportunities - doesn't happen very often!!

George has a really bad cough and cold, the poor love can't move with out this hacking cough rattling through him. Bless him though, he isn't being grumpy or anything, god he is yummy!!

Had to get DS1 some new school shoes, he breaks up next week for summer, but none the less his feet have grown - again, he has huge feet, don't know where he gets them from, neither me nor DH have partic. large feet but DS's are humongous!!

Anyway I am rambling, as per usual I know, Sara!!!

If we all put our heads together and think really really really hard, do you think we could manage to get the summer started? I am so sick of the rain.

Right I am off, have a good afternoon everyone xxx

NatalieJane · 12/07/2007 14:08

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 12/07/2007 14:41

Hi all

It never rains but it pours - Have letter to see vice principal - it's scheduled for DP's birthday - I have holiday booked for that day (one of my 'set in stone days')- hopefully I can change it. Then my notice will start from there.

Secondly - Taro has been sent home from nursery with suspected chicken pox (hence why I'm home now)

and finally - DP lost his Grandmother yesterday - we sort of expected it, but it's still a shock.

Hope everyone else has a better day..

Lots of love and hope
LA

mygirllollipop · 12/07/2007 15:10

Nj - I am def up for parying for sun!
LA - hope the fmaily is OK, so sorry. Also hope you get this work thing sorted. can I bring my youngest two over to yours, they've not had chicken pox and I'd rather like them to have it now rather than when they are older? I saw a lady in the Po this am with chicken pox and I wanted to ask her if DD3&4 could sit on her lap.

Staceym11 · 12/07/2007 16:37

oh LA hope you and dp are ok!

but....can my two come and join the 'pox party please??? iv tried to contaminate dd 4 times since she was 6 months and it hasnt worked!

thanks for saying the pics are lovely! managed to upload them to asda online and have purchased copies! (cant be arsed with printing them!)

dh has decided its take away for dinner so my obs for today are done! off to relax while ds asleep!

saralou · 12/07/2007 17:50

oh ladyanne, i'm so sorry to hear about dp's grandmother

i don't suppose i could join the pox party too??? ds1 can't seem to catch it, even though its been in his room at nursery may times and i've taken him to a friends when her lo had it without success! lol!

i've just given ryan chicken for the first time... lots of apprecative noises coming from him rght now!! ds1 on the other hand has refused dinner yet again... i'm so glad ryan eats well, i think i'd go insane if they were both like this!!!

Staceym11 · 12/07/2007 18:47

saralou you sound a lot like me, c refuses and k eats like a horse!!

dd has a temp of 39.9 (103) might be off to the hospital if it doesnt subside!

NatalieJane · 13/07/2007 12:11

Morning all

Stacey I hope DD is OK?
LA sorry about DP's gran, very sad
AJM glad you had a nice birthday.

George is off to the doctors tonight, this cough is just getting worse, and he is really wheezy. The poor thing just can't move with out coughing, but bless him he is still all smiley and not whingy at all.

DS1 had his report yesterday, all the way through it says he is an excellent student, acheived all the stepping stones he should have, and is being put in the highest class next year (he is in reception at the moment, the way it works is that he could have either stayed in reception, gone into the year 1 class, or gone into the year 2 class, and he has been put into the year 2 class, so he is obviously doing well) then at the bottom of the report it said "Thomas has been held back by the number of absenses due to illness" which I am quite pissed off about, he has had a lot of time off, but he has been genuinely ill, he always goes back to school before he is properly ready so they can see he has been ill, and he has been sent home from school loads because he is poorly, he has had 1 and a half days off when he wasn't ill, a day when MIL got married, and the morning after we had spent all night at the hospital when George had that fit, but despite him 'passing' all the targets they set, and making it into the higher class, they still feel the need to add a catty comment about his absences. The days he had off when he wasn't ill, it isn't as though we had planned them to be like that, not like some of the other kids, there have been 5 students that have spent 6-10 weeks in India during term time, another little girl is holiday this week, and there have been others through out the year, we've had to double the cost of our holiday to make sure he wouldn't miss any school and yet they still have to be narky. Pissed me right off it did And now I am worried that when he goes into the class with kids that are a year older than him, if he carries on picking up every bloody bug going, he is going to really struggle against the other kids.

Sorry, I had to get that off my chest, he had a concert assembly about Africa this morning and I ignored his teacher because I thought I would probably blow my top if she said anything!! LOL And George did a big loud burp smack bang in the middle of the Lord's Prayer I thought she might have come after me with a big stick if I hadn't have got out of there quick!! LOL

NatalieJane · 13/07/2007 12:12

I'm not even going to apologise for the length of that post...!

laughalot · 13/07/2007 16:12

podglet · 14/07/2007 08:46

Love the name change Charlee! Hope the wedding goes well. My friends bro gets married today - I have known him since he was 9 so it's v weird!

Nat - they have to spoil it don't they with DS1's report? Well done him though for being in the top class next year hope G feels better soon.

Stacey - Hope DD feels better too - that's a high temp she's got, poor thing.

LA - so sorry about DP's gran love to you and the family.

Not much to report here. DS and DP are about to spend the morning together so I can get my haircut. Can't wait to sit in peace nd quiet and have a bit of a pamper!

Staceym11 · 14/07/2007 10:58

well we ended up in a+e last night, dd was ok when we put her to bed a bit sweaty and fidgety but ok, checked her temp at 11pm and it was so low the termometer couldnt read it. the docs say shes still got her urine infection and not to worry abotu a low temp. we've been given anti-biotics again

i cant work out how a low temp isnt bad, surely if an in ear termometer is not able to read the temp theres something wrong?!?!

ds wasnt bothered, woke him put him in car seat etc etc, all e did at the hospital was grin and giggle!!!!

got my first driving lesson today! wish me luck!

charlee, hope the wedding is lovely!

AlfieJacksmummy · 14/07/2007 12:20

Right im going to attempt to catch up!
Stacey - Sorry your lo isnt very well I hope she is better soon it must be scary to see them not well and I would be the same if the temp was really low! Good luck with your driving, if I can do it then anyone can!!
Podglet - Hope your friends brothers wedding goes well.Thats a shame about not being able to drive, my mum was the same with her epilepsy but tbh cars are more trouble than there worth mine has something majorly wrong but cant afford to fix it.
Charlee - Glad you got the top, also love the name change I love Harry Potter hope your sis wedding goes well.
NJ - Hope George is feeling better now, I cant believe about that school reprt how petty, fair enough if it was effecting his work but it obviously isnt
LA - sorry about dps gran .
Hope I have caught up sorry if i missed anything! Havent got much time to sit now Alfie is now crawling round like a pro and clapping his hands and waving at everyone but he has started pulling himself up on everything so cant turn my back for a second!!
Had a lovely bday although it was weird not having ds atleast I got to eat my food while it was still hot for a change and didnt get covered in goo!

laughalot · 14/07/2007 15:36

Alfiejacksmummy iv emailed you, thanks again.

Staceym11 · 14/07/2007 18:07

AJM, ds pulls himself up, he keeps forgetting what hes doing and falling over tho! we had a very funny moment the other day when he got down off dh's lap and promptly turned round and tried to walk off.....but he cant walk, swiftly fell on his face! funny little boy!

well dd seems a lot better now although trying to get her to take more medicine is a PITA as shes a PITA basically!

driving went well....didnt stall and acctually drove for about 20 mins! [eek emoticon!] all just a bit scary!

mygirllollipop · 14/07/2007 18:42

Stacey - DD4 does that, forgets she can't walk off from where she's standing and falls flat on her face!

saralou · 15/07/2007 09:42

ha ha, ryan does it too! he wants it all the moment... he's started proper crawling now, he's still a bit quicker on his belly but he only does it that way as a last resort!!! i was telling my friend about him the other day and what he gets up to now... she replied with, but does he know he's still a baby and shouldn't be doing that!!! lol.. she was with me when he was born and has only seen him twice since, so in her eyes he's still tiny! she'll get a shock when she comes to stay next weekend!

hope everyones well... stacey, hope dd is better (a low temp is only a problem when they are being affected by it, so losing conciousness for example, turning blue etc. it's quite unusual to get a low temp in someone who's not been exposed, so unless you put her in the freezer overnight () i would check your thermometer! even ear ones can give false readings)
