I had real problems with Jack with meat so i'm being carefull this time, when do you think it's best to introduce it?

charlee even if you didnt get her name there should be a record on their computer of who you spoke to, give them a date and general time and they should investigate it, tell them how upset it made you and how blatantly rude and unsympathetic she was!

horrible cow! dont listen to her!

you are a brilliant mum and forgetting the medicine is an easy mistake to make, dont beat yourself up hunny!!!

well ds has started being icky after milk again.....am starting to think it might be milk intolerence, my bro was allergic to cows milk as a baby so its not too surprising!!

dds potty training has gone downhill, shes fine at anyone elses house or while we'r out and about but at home she's terrible!!! tearing my hair out that im doin something wrong, i try not to get angry but when i ask her before dinner if she needs a wee and then 3 seconds after being put in her booster seat shes wet i cant help but be annoyed!!!!! arrrrrgggghhh!

debbsyandsonn · 13/05/2007 21:40

for charlee ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))

Charleesunnysunsun · 13/05/2007 22:18

Stacey Jack is the opposite with potty training he is an angel at home or an anyones house but as soon as we go out or in the car he has an accident, he is getting better though so hopefully your dd will to.

thanks for agreeing with me about that awful woman, dp is ringing tommorrow to actually sort it so i will get himt o have words he is good at that!

I know i shouldn't beat myself up but i get so angry at myself for not coping particualy well some days and for aming stupid mistakes like forgetting his meal time medication!

mygirllollipop · 14/05/2007 08:39

Charlee - being rained on I can sympathise with it's annoying, and if that was the only thing that happened I'm sure you would have been OK. Forgetting meds, easy mistake (esp for me I have hte memory of a fish), and yes you might have felt mortified but really everyone will have forgotten about it and not care now. I do think however that that might have been brought on by the woman at that tax credits place. If something like that happens again tell her those questions are irrelevent and frankly nothing to do with her or the claim (apart from that he's on higher rate) and ask to speak to someone senior immediately. I would def make a complaint that is no way to speak to someone. I'm sorry you had to put up with her sh!t. Have you looked into respite, you could have a day off every so often? Hugs, you need it.
Stacey - I wouldn't worry about the potty training they all test the rules with it. DD3 is still in nappies when we go out and for nights. She does still try to get out of them in shops and other people's houses but I'm not sure how she'd cope with the elements through just trousers (well and 5pr knickers). Get a GP appointment for the milk intolerance or try soya based formula for a week. DD1&2 had this it started while weaning, then when they tasted cows milk at a year old. Then their bodies recognised the cows milk in their formula. We moved to a soya based but it seems a certain percentage of milk intolerant children are intolerant to soya milk so we had prescription formula. Nighmare.

saralou100 · 14/05/2007 09:08

charlee, my mums diabetic.. i remember when she was first diagnosed, the stress of her trying to remember everything and remember what to take and when, she really had to concentrate on it all... now she does it in her sleep (well not quite, but you know what i mean)

just give it time sweetie to get used to it all... it's all part of the learning process.... before you know none of this will seem so hard as you all get used to it

please take the pressure of yourslf! your doing a great job!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 14/05/2007 09:12

hi everyone, well ds in grumpy mood but i think its his ear! argh!

LeBe · 14/05/2007 11:22

Hi all, I havent been on cos ive had a bad stomach bug feeling a bit better now tho, the worst part is I cant cuddle or kiss ds and he was really grumbly yesterday and i was helpless poor dp had to look after us both.

Charlee - you poor thing, I had M.E a few years ago and if anyone knows anything about it they will know it is impossible for anyone to believe you, I had to claim DLA and it was a nightmare! I had people speak to me like that every time i rang up and i was to scared to say anything, but in the end i toughened up and it done me a favour in the long run cos know when I have to ring or speak to someone about a problem i dont take no s**t off them, I think you are doing so well and its obvious you are going to have bad days, but I forget things all the time and I dont ahve as much to think about as you, so beat yourself up about it. Big hug for you!

LeBe · 14/05/2007 11:24

Sorry Charlee should of red that first.. I meant to say DONT beat yourself up about it. sorry x

fatbetty · 14/05/2007 16:37

Hello Ladies! I've been away from Mumsnet for a while and I haven't had a chance to catch up on what everybody is doing. I hope everyone is well and your LOs are growing like weeds.

I've had a horrible couple of nights with Madeleine. She just screams and screams - but absolutely fine when you pick her up. The minute she lays down she just screams. I haven't really starting weening her (I know, I know!!!). I tried her on some baby rice last weekend and she ended up being sick all afternoon (think she just had too much). I'm assuming that the poor little thing needs more than just breastmilk and that is why she is crying (she is right as rain during the day, and if it was teething pain, wouldn't she be crying all the time?).

I was just wondering if any of you have put a bit of baby rice into their bottles. I know the HV make it rather taboo, but just wondering if that would help satisfy her during the night while I get the weening underway.

podglet · 14/05/2007 16:44

Hi all

Oh Charlee hun, you are so fantastic. It sounds like a horrid day for you. Hope DP sorted things out for you with the DLA. I claim the lower rate for my eyesight and hate ringing them with anything, they are terrible. That's no way to be spoken to and I hope she gets a telling off.

Lebe - hope you feel better
Debbsy - hi, hope all ok

FB - hellooooo, long time no "see"! Not sure about the rice in the bottle, but how about a little rice before / after the last bottle? DS has started screaming in the night when he wakes (usually about 4.30) and I have no idea what is causing it.

fatbetty · 14/05/2007 17:05

Thanks Podglet! Argh! Madeleine has just thrown up (x2) all the baby rice I gave her (which wasn't much to begin with anyhow). HAs anybody else had this problem? Never had a problem with DS1 and DS2. I don't think she would be allergic to the formula as she has had formula before (a long time ago). Don't want to give her the babyrice at night in case she is sick during the night.

mygirllollipop · 14/05/2007 17:40

LeBe - hope you are better.
Welcome back FB. I'm not sure about the rice in bottle, I don't have that much of a problem wit hit and I'm sure mine have had rusk or whatever in theirs, but the bottle could get blocked plus they need to get used to feeding off a spoon and getting messy and all that. Try her on veg puree or fruit instead of rice if it doesn't seem to agree with her.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 14/05/2007 18:13

fb welcome back! have missed having a chat....hope madelaine gets better...as mygirl says try veg puree instead might have a bit more substance to it to stay down!

well apparantly im doing BLW!! (ner ner ne ner ner! ) acctually its more to do with the fact i cant be bothered pureeing things and k just sits up to the table with us and gets a spoonful when he looks interested or a crust off m sandwich at lunch! its all a bit much effort this time round! lol

Charleesunnysunsun · 14/05/2007 21:14

Hi, thanks again your at really great at cheering me up.

I have had a new positive boost today so i rang the tax credits and asked to make a complaint and basicly they apologised and are reviewing it. Not mucg but i feel ffab for having the balls to ring up and say something.

Harry is 16.2lbs now at 26 weeks and is still eating like a horse! we can't eat without him coming oven in his walker and whinging for a bite!
were also getting alot of da and bu sounds over and over again which Jack is chuffed about becuse he thinks Harry is saying brother (bu-bu)!
Were also getting huge amounts of raspberries blown at us!

And Harry has adopted his easter chick that someone brought him from tesco, its a green one that cheeps when you shake it, he loves it and wont go anywhere with out it's beak in his mouth! I had to cut its fluffy hir off as it kept falling out when Harry was sucking at it.

Jacks cough seems a bit better after some intense physio during the day so thats good to.

All in all it's been an ok kinda day.

Stacey i had no idea that was BLW thats what we do with Harry! he usually has both puree and our meals though becuase he's a little chunk!

FB welcome back, i kno putting rice in the bottle is supposed to be a big no no but im not sure why? Maybe try some apple or pear puree? Or mix a rusk with her breast milk to make a thin porridge?

nats not actually been on for a while... i do hope all is ok!

fatbetty, glad your back!! ryan is getting the same way... screams and then when he's picked up and all is better again.. he does it in the daytime too though... would rather be sleeping on me i think!! so not much help really am i it may be food related, i haven't started weening ryan yet, 3 more weeks to hold out (if i can) then blw (can't be arsed to puree either)... or maybe i'll just buy some jar stuff and try... who knows

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 15/05/2007 08:29

morning everyone....dd woke up with a nose bleed this morning?! not too sure about that!!

DS went to bed at 8pm, i had to wake him to give medicine at 11pm, he then wanted a bottle, then slept till half 5, bliss!!!!

acctually must go and do his medicine again!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 15/05/2007 08:34

debs BLW is baby led weaning, its sorta the idea that you dont need to spoon feed them puree as when they are ready for food (around 6 months) they are about ready to do it themselves, so you let them dictate what they eat (ie how much they can get to their mouths!)

it think thats the jist of it! and as they get bigger they get more in and their appetite increases!
