ours is through a chousing association as we were on the council list. Brand new building, lovely but id lvoe a garden.

mygirl it does cost the same for us but as we only earn 18k (if that) for both of us we could only just get a mortgage for the £64k we needed (and that included borrowing 20k off my dad, so our mortgage is only acctually 44k and that was at a push) so there is no way we could buy outright although it would cost us the same! stupid system!

AlfieJacksmummy · 03/07/2007 17:02

I heard someone else say that actually, that seems really silly to me

podglet · 03/07/2007 19:22

Hi,

Hoping all this housing talk rubs off and I get my moving date soon really pleased things are looking up AJM.

Hope you feel better soon mygirl, I have also had a "can't be bothered day" but had to get on with things as poor old DS had no food left in the freezer and i didn't even have any back up naughty jars in the cupboard!

We have decided to push the boat out and pay the removal company to pack for us as well. It's not much more expensive and then everything is covered by their insurance should anything break in transit (even though we are only moving a couple of miles away!)

Am currently wearing a most attractive wrist splint to try and help my tendonitis. I have to wear it for 6 weeks and if it doesn't work, I have to have an op It's made of moulded plastic and is v hot. Moan moan....

AlfieJacksmummy · 03/07/2007 22:30

Congrats to AJM, and your family

Podglet gorgeous cheeky photos!! And obviously I am very of your little secret.... loads of luck with it

I think we are all coming down with DS1's lurgy, and we have Tesco tonight, and.... hang on while I think of something else to whinge about.... and..... got it, it is bloody chucking it down again, I can't remember the last dry day we had. Anyone else feeling pretty crap today?!!!

Anyone want some Galaxy?

Charlee · 04/07/2007 16:21

Congrats to your famoly AJM i hope everything goes smoothley for them.

Podglet, thants great hun and may i say how brave you are!

I saw my friends twins for the first time today they re georgeous but as much as i think they are scrummy i didn't get broody, i think if i ever have anymore it will be several years down the line but i doubt we will we are far to busy with Jack's treatment.

Jacks has another chest infection, we have had him up the hospital today for some more antibiotcs! sigh...........

I spoke to the school and all is fine there he is begining to play more with the other kids as he gets older but he is completley normal apparently which is good.

Best go i have a screaming Harry to sort out.

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 04/07/2007 22:35

Congrats on new family member - AJM! - nice to have some good news for a change.

Re: Crawling - Taro has sort of figured out it involves lifting his bum, moving his legs and arms - he just hasn't figured out he needs to do it all at the same time. He's rolling loads - but gets frustrated when he can't figure out how to get to round the side of his baby gym. He actually prefers to stand leaning against someone or something - I don't think he realises he's supposed to go through the other stages first. His cough is a lot better - can't say the same for mine.

On a bad note - it looks like I may be losing my job. I was on probation - then got pregnant - probation suspended then restarted again on return - but baby brain has taken over and I just can't keep to the standard required. I'm not too upset 1) the college tends to shift people around rather than ditch them and 2) it means I can look at getting a part time job and have more time with Taro and 3) It does mean I can also look at retraining for a more fulfilling job (which I will have to do anyway as my hand is causing me too many problems to remain in admin). Only downside is that Taro may have to leave the nursery and he has friends there - still, I can't decide anything until after 'the Meeting' on Tuesday which will decide my future. Ah well - life goes on

I still have a budget wedding to sort and preparation for a visit from my American friend and her family - which I am looking forward too.

See ya all and have a lovely evening

LA

Jackschest is really bad

I was up in the night with him to keep checking him as he was struggling to breath and it was scaring him, i sat with him untill he went to sleep.
I knew it wouls happen but it is still really hard to watch him suffering, i just hope these antibiotics take hold soon.

Harry's HV coming today for his 8 month check will let you know how it goes.

saralou · 05/07/2007 08:56

ryan, aka houdini managed to escape from his cot this morning

and i think the bloody things broken!! its very hard to explain, but somehow the bottom screw bit became unattached on the side that drops, but the top of that side was still attached.. make sense??? any way ryan then slipped out underneath and went on a mini adventure! we can't work out how the hell he's done it, but we think big bro may have offered some assistance!

grr, gotta try securing the cot now!!

saralou · 05/07/2007 08:59

get better soon jack how worrying for you charlee

AlfieJacksmummy · 05/07/2007 09:00

Saralou - as of when I left they had decided on Leo, but may have changed since then?
Nj -any choccie left?
LA - I cant tell you how good it is to have some good news, ds is good at the leg bit of crawling but not the arms, so he gets up, moves his legs flops down moves his hands and starts again, but he gets around!
Charlee- im so sorry Harry is not well, bless him. for you and him.

I have a thread on for sale, trying to get rid of some stuff, before moving to make room and money, can I be really cheeky and put the link here incase there is anything any of you want ... Thankyou

Harry is still desperatley trying to crawl but he cets on his hands and knees then continues pushing his legs so his feet are flat on the floor and his bum is right in the air, then he doesn't quite know what to do from there so he crys, bless him!
