I don't think she's windy, it's just gurgling, bubbling at the mouth and coughing on it all the time bless her. DH has always worked full days so not me :) we've upped the ranitidine. Will give it a couple of days and take her back if it's no better and ask for that referral. She's so uncomfy with it.

RPopz · 25/03/2015 11:20

Can't remember what we ate on Sunday, will have to ask DH later. He's finally pooed! Only about a tablespoon though but bright yellow Grin He's still fussing at the boob though which is odd as he fed fine last night. I wonder if he's not comfy feeding with me sat up suddenly, I feed him lying down at night. I think he's in his 3rd leap now which isn't helping. Crying at the drop of a hat and has developed this really dramatic heart rending cry Sad Am seriously doubting my mothering skills this week!

RPopz · 25/03/2015 11:22

I think the ranitidine can take a week or so to kick in Zy?

Think its Ness with the DH working half days.

willywallace · 25/03/2015 12:14

Ah you're right it is Ness I think. Could be anything Popz. You could spend all your time trying to figure it out. Try to change it up with a bit of rugby hold?

ZylaB · 25/03/2015 12:18

Rugby hold is my fave! and about the only bf position I can do!

Yeah I'm hoping it's just not kicked in yet popz and will do soon, she's snuggled up to me asleep after a feed. I daren't move cas I'm enjoying her not choking/coughing :)

ZylaB · 25/03/2015 12:21

Oh, and we've had green and bright orange poos within the last week, and some a bit yellowy. Shall we club together and go for a rainbow?! (But let's avoid the red maybe!)

willywallace · 25/03/2015 16:13

ha and the purple!

Thinking about it zyla, we've had ranitidine for over three weeks and it's only the last few days I'm noticing her being much more settled. I wonder if maybe it builds up in their system. It's definitely been a gradual thing for us. What dose is she on?

TheBooMonster · 25/03/2015 17:39

Had a lovely midwife today who was full of encouragement, Evie has lost 7.6% of her body weight, signs were all there that milk was in so she was very happy and another midwife is coming in 2 days to do heel pricks and another weigh. Boobs are solid and prickly hot no matter how much she feeds though Shock

RPopz · 25/03/2015 17:54

That's good news Boo Smile Did you say anything about that other bitch midwife??

So DS is randomly happy with feeding again... Confused They are funny little things! This leap is seriously trying my patience already tho and. we're only on day2 Confused Confused Wine

DMs in hospital again and got to go see her tonight. Seriously not looking forward to it, especially as I need to take The Whinger!

TheBooMonster · 25/03/2015 18:01

Yes I did bring yesterday's midwife up, she was tactful, and said she'd perhaps remind the team how powerful their words are with worried mums.

Glad minipopz is happy with feeding again popz I remember with Alex a day where I basically sat and wept whilst poking my boobs in her face trying to get her to latch and she was having none of it!

ZylaB · 25/03/2015 18:25

Good news lauren!!

wil she's on 0.4ml 3 times a day but we can give her 0.6 if it doesn't work, so we've been doing the higher dose to try and kick start it :). Though it's done by weight so will change a lot at this stage I guess. Hopefully she'll settle, she's been happy during the day as I've had her upright! Had a nice bath etc so I hope she just zonks out :)

ZylaB · 25/03/2015 18:26

boo not lauren, sorry!

ZylaB · 25/03/2015 18:28

Dh has told me to pump and express as much as can tomorrow and fri so he can try and have her all fri night and I can sleep. But it's such a faff getting full bottles of milk, the pumps just isn't as good as a baby is, even with breast compressions :)

willywallace · 25/03/2015 18:48

yeah I hate pumping. See we're only allowed 0.2mls three times a day and my one is way heavier than yours. I thought they'd calculated ours wrongly. Might have to have a word, although does seem to be helping.

Sorry about your mum popz, will she be ok?

Boo I had a day where my boobs were like that after milk coming in and it just settled itself down. Horrible though.

ZylaB · 25/03/2015 19:14

I think it depends how strong the solution you're given is?

ZylaB · 25/03/2015 19:16

Hope hospital and your mum are ok popz

Minion · 25/03/2015 19:18

Chatty bunch you lot. I've read thru but am seriously sleep deprived so can't remember much but I know the boobs and sling talk.
R weighed today at hospital review. Only 3oz in a week but seems to be feeding oK. Have no idea what's going on but basically told to start weaning at 17 weeks.
She's lost the ability to sleep through the night and clearly now the day.
She's so bloody alert. nosy Madam.
But we have progress, fingers fully in mouth but still not worked out they can soothe her, she can virtually roll from back to front and can sit up straight on her own and brings herself to lean forward, so it seems that wonder week was worthwhile after all.
Counting down to number 4. Horrid by all accounts
popz hang tight Sista

willywallace · 25/03/2015 20:31

Oh does it? Ok that makes sense.

Sounds like she's doing great on the development front Min

Minion · 25/03/2015 20:42

I hope so wil, how's microwil this eve? R has just this second started whining on the monitor. Dummy issues.

Looks like she's staying on the neocate now tho, saves us a blimming fortune in formula.

Pisghetti · 25/03/2015 20:58

Evening viroids. Not been keeping up too well. I have a nocturnal baby who is absolutely addicted to boob. Stupid question - do you need to wind bf babies? When she drops off I'm torn between waking her up by winding or leaving it Shock

willywallace · 25/03/2015 21:08

Just depends Pis, if she's not bothered then it doesn't matter. I have a very windy baby. Are you still deciding on a name?

Microwil is asleep on her daddy downstairs so I'm about to attempt a catnap. Hurrah. She is fine tonight apart from being a bit smelly Grin .

JuniDD · 25/03/2015 21:13

Many congrats pis! You don't need to wind them but at 2 weeks I started very much needing to wind DD so it may change. I gave her a little wind today (now 5 months) and got some massive burps up so I might try to do it more often...

boo great weight loss...hmm, not sure that sounds right! But same as my DD and all going great guns. Hope your boobs are ok, hot and prickly doesn't sound nice.

My activity today was walking through the park with NCT buddies to their exercise class, then hitting ASDA for some random tut. Feeling much brighter today and possibly heading to bed for a properly early night.

Pisghetti · 25/03/2015 21:20

We finally agreed a name tonight! I think DP and I were fairly sure anyway - just wanted to see how it fitted. Need to tell the family first.

She doesn't settle after feeding at night. She falls asleep on the boob then wakes up when I try to move her and demands more. She's ok in the day. I was wondering if she just didn't like the Moses basket but she had a good sleep in it at lunchtime Hmm

ZylaB · 25/03/2015 21:20

pis I've only heard H burp twice! Even when I try, so don't worry about it too much.

min sounds like good jumps in development.mdid you say you had a wonder week EPU? What was it?

Yay for catnaps/early nights. I'm aiming for a calm night, even if I don't get sleep, want a calmer H as a starting point :)

Minion · 25/03/2015 21:51

It was wonder week 3 (killer), but looks to be true for R at least.
We're trying something new tonight. We usually feed her at ten just before we go to bed, tonight were just feeding when she wakes.

What do you all do? I know most of you bf so it may be different, but just getting an idea.
I've a feeling (probably wrong) that we have trained her to wake every 4 hours for food without seeing if she can go through.
Send luck.
Or wine, if we aren't successful
