Hello!

Going Christmas shopping now and then to a Christmas Party!

jaamybells · 11/12/2006 00:06

Hello everyone!
Good to see you are all loooking christmassy!
SR - wasn't sure whether you had meant "baubles" the first time round but had become "bubbles" in a wine induced haze!! HAve a lovely time at the CHristmas party.
Feeling a bit more christmassy myself now after going to a panto yesterday. A (who, BTW is walking unasisted now - [proud mummy emoticon])refused to go into the auditorium and started screaming everyime she went through the door so she and DH missed it but (I gather) had a great bonding session in the foyer! At least DD1 had a ball as did my 2 nephews...oh no they didn't...oh yes they did!!
Mamama - hope you little man hasn't suffered any side effects from his jab. Are flu jabs standard where you are?
A has her MMR tomorrow so will see how she is afer that - not expecting much drama.
Mummyhill - how are you doing? Not working too hard, I hope. Glad your nan is ok for now. How's your FIL?
Hope everyone else ok? Who's keeping track of the number of sleeps til Christmas???

IdrisTheRedNosedDragon · 11/12/2006 09:00

Hello .

Still not managing to be on here much am I?

Will you believe me if I said that I will catch up one day ?

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 11/12/2006 12:05

Went to see Nan last night and have to say that she is going down hill. She has decided that she has had enough now. So I think that we are all waiting to see if she either pulls through or slips away quietly. She's not fighting it so I am very much affraid it will be the leter rather than the former, if thats what she wants we have to respect it iykwim.

I am doing 32 hrs rather than 24 a week till christmas. and am feeling physically and emotionally drained.

Will keep a brave face on for the kids though.

Simplyred · 11/12/2006 18:27

Hello!

Sorry to hear about you Nan MH - I hope she perks up - its difficult when they have had enough - wanting to respect their wishes but also feeling so very sad to face lossing them.
Hope the 32 hours pay well. Feeling very skint as the slimming business has really 'slimmed' out!!! will be better off in January with the new year resolutions!

Hello Idris!

Hello Jaamy - I may well have meant baubles - I was very very drunk

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 12/12/2006 11:58

Just had a qick chat with wabbitt - she is fine. N has tonsilitus(sp) and C is doing well. She is hoping to get into uni at some point this week and post a hello to us all.

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 12/12/2006 12:07

SR - All we can do is wait. She has been telling us that she wants to go for at least 6 months now, I think she has only really held on to see my niece. It is terribly sad but it will be better for her, she is used to being really fit and energetic, in the last few months she has been gradually deteriorating and has reached a point where it is difficult for her to even do her housework, getting in and out of the flat is a mission and she is becomming confused. She doesn't like being like this and would hate to have to move in with a member of the family and be a 'burden' a nursing home would be even more abhorent to her so if she wants to go then we have to let her. We all understand that she is approaching the end and are doing our best to prepare ourselves for it.

I am just glad I have mumsnet where I can let off steam without upsetting my mum and my aunt. My sister may read my posts but we talk a lot on the phone anyway and I won't say anything here that I would discuss with her in real life iyswim.

Simplyred · 13/12/2006 08:48

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 17/12/2006 11:54

Thanks everyone.

It was very peaceful for her. The funeral is on Friday.

jaamybells · 19/12/2006 00:56

Gosh it's quiet on here. Hope everyone madly dashing round getting into the Christmas spirit.

Last day at work tomorrow, looking forward to nearly 2 weeks off. Sure it'll fly by.

Hope everyone ok.

Only 7 sleeps til Christmas!

mamama · 20/12/2006 05:00

Look at you, counting down the days, jaamy! Enjoy your last day at work.

Not too busy here & feeling a bit blue about the whole being alone at christmas thing but I'll pull myself together and enjoy spending it with DS . It's my birthday too - I just made myself a birthday cake!

Hope all goes well on Friday, Mummyhill. Thinking of you x

jaamybells · 21/12/2006 07:34

Happy Birthday mamama! Hope the cake was scrummy!
You're not alone, petal! We're all here! And DS will make the time so special for you. If he's anything like our DD2, he's toddling around shouting "Mismas" at anything remotely festive looking!

jaamybells · 21/12/2006 07:35
