New thread for a new month. Yeah I know I have done it a day early but never mind.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
milward · 03/10/2006 08:32

Pooka - I felt the same as you about posting - you put into words when I couldn't manage to explain!

my ds is also into everything - whilst my three dd were busy but different. ds4 opens every cupboard & climbs in or empties it - broke a glass from the sideboard after opening the doors. He is fasinatedby wheels - my dd never where! He will crawl through mud whilst my dd1 didn't like her feet in wet grass!!

WereWABBITT · 03/10/2006 10:38

Oh Lovely - Milward's here too!

I can identify with the emptying of cupboards and shelves.
Dd was saying her first words at this stage - in fact she was talking before she crawled! 'pssuka' and 'shoes' for pussycat and (yes you've guessed it!) 'shoes' were her first words. Ds is perhaps just about identifying 'Caa' with his cars and 'Ka' with the cat (who he pursues mercilessly)

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 03/10/2006 12:13

Hi Milward Welcome back.

We get da or ta when we hand something to D or if he wants something he points and says ta. At = cat or nat depending on which is in the room.

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 03/10/2006 12:14

As for emptying cupboards I am not sure my living room will ever be tidy again as D empties the toy cupboard as soon as you fill it back up again.

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 03/10/2006 12:38

Any one want some spicy carrot and corriander soup? Think I went a bit mad. I made an=bout 3 litres of it this morning although it is yummy. I am not sure I have enough freezer containers.

jaamy · 03/10/2006 12:46

OMG...a new thread - thought I was doing well getting to the bottom of the last one...welcome back everyone - milward, ppoka, lozza! And hello to mamama.
Glad los are all ok and hope they all had lovely birthdays. We're still looking forward to A's birthday, though had a sentimental moment or 2 way back on the 24th (her due date).
SR - naughty school not letting you know about DS moving ability sets. Be patient, his happiness is best and as long as he knows there's no pressure he'll probably relax and do much better. Is the class very competitive?
Mummyhill - hope the teething has calmed down and dd is better from her sickness bug.
A is much more adventurous than I remember her big sister being though neither girls are particularly girly. Don't mind getting dirty and often play with their cousin's cars/trains. In fact I keep meaning to buy them some of their own.
Anyway, must dash - am at work and need to get back to the boring stuff! Off to think of witty Halloween name!
Take care all x

pooka · 03/10/2006 13:12

Glad it wasn't just me Milward

No talking here and no signs of it really. But then dd was pretty late with it and now makes my ears bleed most days with chit chat so I'm sure it'll come

WereWABBITT · 03/10/2006 14:04

Hey Pooka - Your halloween name 'Spooka'!

milward · 03/10/2006 14:09

soup - lovely! hope you manage to freeze some.I don't have a frezze large enough (just fits fish fingers!) so when I make so much we end up having to have as much as possible....

my ds says yeah for yes! I find when I say this he copies it!

pooka

hi jaamy & wabbit & all xxx

jaamy · 03/10/2006 16:50

Spooka!...very good Wabbitt. I will put my thinking hat on on my loooong drive home!
Milward - A is just a little parrott atm. Copies everything we say, especially good at animal noises. Thinking of putting her on the stage!
Pooka, know exactly what you mean about the blessed silence. DD1 never stops gabbing either and now we've entered the "why?" phase and I have to admit to quite a few "Mummy just doen't know, sweetheart. I know, why don't you ask daddy?" and sure enough she does.

mamamaaargh · 03/10/2006 21:02

No talking here - occasional mimicking, but nothing more. Unless signing counts - we can do 'milk', 'more', 'book' and, bizarrely, 'duck'! Strange child! The soup sounds delicious!

Got to go - ds on windowsill (again)

IdrisTheDragon · 03/10/2006 23:47

My late nights seem to be becoming a feature.

Not good really. At least I sleep all right once I'm in bed .

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 04/10/2006 07:26

Morning. D signs too but not consistently. Hey ho never mind.

All flued up and feeling dire must drag my self into gear and get dd ready for school.

WereWABBITT · 04/10/2006 11:43

Idris - perhaps the insomniac tendencies have somehow been transfered from me to you - hope it doesn't last too long for you as it is draining and eventually leaves you prone to every virus going...

Talking of which Mummyhill - we're all going down with this coldy thing. Didn't think I'd make getting Noop to school this morning but peeled myself out of my cosy bed and straight to the medicine cupboard - thank heavens for Paracaetamol it felt like someone was detatching my brain from my skull with a cheesewire when I first woke up

Hope others are managing to avoid the colds and sore throats x

WereWABBITT · 04/10/2006 11:44

Conrad doesn't sign (don't think I'm consistent enough

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 04/10/2006 11:54

Got dd to school. D fell asleep so I had a nice warm bath and went back to bed till he woke up, to try and warm up I seem cold right through to my bones.

Bless D has just found a carton of ribena that N left by the TV afterschool yesterday and is drinking it through the straw.

PROUD MUMMY MOMENT - D took his first steps last night. He then spent 15 mins toddling/running between mummy and daddy. Had a few tumbles but it didn't deter him.

WereWABBITT · 04/10/2006 12:19

Well done David!!! xxx

jaamy · 04/10/2006 13:04

Sorry to hear that people are suffering - look after yourselves
Well done D! And good luck mummyhill - running after another toddler!!
Still haven't come up with a good name. HAd thought of Jaaaaaarhmy! but that's a bit too similar to mamama's. Not very original. May be I'll think of one before 1st Nov!
Idris - can you go to bed with a book or crossword or something - always sends me off to sleep but means that it takes me months to finish a book! My record for a sudoko puzzle is a week!!!LOL May be I'm just a bit thick!

ychocuspocus · 04/10/2006 13:24

Well done D! Lots of walking round furniture here and occasionally J will stand by himself for a couple of seconds but thats it.

Took ages to think of a new name! We've been invited to a hallween party, does anyone have any good ideas, we're thinking of going as a 'dead couple'!

Simplyred · 04/10/2006 15:06

Hello!

Well done Davidxx
Rachel has fallen over and hurt her chin and traped her finger in a cupboard all within 10 minutes - my word shes getting worse - mini wirlwind! She has a cold - was up loads with her in the night.

Thanks for the Rudolf Steiner info - I'm going to have a good look on the internet - and yes J's class is very competitive - the school got very high ofsted results last year - they are very achievement lead.....

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 04/10/2006 16:13

I quite liked the Stiener stuff as well but the closest one to us is in Stourbridge. Not realy close enough to be considered.

ychocuspocus · 04/10/2006 16:13

I forgot to say, thanks for the feedback on Quinny Zapp, I've got a nice red one ordered, will let you know how we get on with it.
Idristhedrageon - alice looks gorgeous
Joel says bi for bye & ba for ta! He also puts his finger over his mouth and says ssshhh!

IdrisTheDragon · 04/10/2006 21:20

Alice doesn't say anything. At least I don't think she does (not in English anyway).

mamamaaargh · 04/10/2006 21:50

I like the finger on the mouth for shhhh!

WereWABBITT · 04/10/2006 22:44

I've just found out one of my dear friends (and mummy to one of C's bumps and babies cohorts) is 8 1/2 weeks pregnant - I'm SO pleased for her, as I know she's had trouble in previous pregnancies, but, I'm also SO wishing it was me

This and another of my bumps and babies friends arrived with her newborn... Just 4 days old (she'd had a 3 hour labour and really fabulous delivery...

I just wish it was me, it may sound selfish, and i've never been broody before I had C, but I'd love another.

Why is it you always wish for what you can't have?
