Simplyred - there, I've had to use your full title - YOU ARE NOT A BAD ANYTHING!!
You have been a great friend (hope you don't mind me calling you that) and support to all of us here on this thread. You are helping your DS through a bad time at school by finding a group that will help him build his confidence. You are a loving caring mum to Rachel, else you wouldn't be posting here to tell us of your proud moments at her progress.
And as for a business woman, haven't you just had a promotion to area manager? Haven't you been helping many people feel better about themselves by helping them lose weight for the past 8 months...while being a good mother, friend and wife.
I konw that if one of my frineds missed one of my DD's birthdays I'd think there was a good reason for it and the fact that you have so much on your plate is certainly a good reason. Send your friend something now. I'm sure she'll understand unless she is, of course super woman and never makes any mistakes. And while you're at it, give yourself a big pat on the back for remembering her DD's birthday at all. And then have a glass of wine or two, put your feet up and chill. If anything, you've probably been doing too much. I know it gets to me sometimes and that's without the pressure of running my own business.
Please take care. x
Mummyhill, Wabbitt - dying to know - did you win????
Mummyhill - wish it had have been me on a big swanky night out!!

Simplyred · 19/11/2006 16:45

Ahh thanks everyone - I'm perking up today - I've been round with a card and present for my friends dd - but still upset - I sent her a text message saying how sorry I was that I'd forgotten and got one back saying she had been upset and surprised that I had forgotten I am usually very organized but I am finding it hard at the moment! - I've over committed myself - it was my own fault!

mummyhill · 19/11/2006 20:51

Simplyred - one day at a time sweetheart we all have bad patches and we all get through them one day at a time.

My house is doing my head in. We had to do some major DIY to get the fire guard refitted so that D will not be pulling it off the wall again anytime soon. I now have to put everything back into the cubby under the stairs to be able to tidy the kitchen and the living room before the new HV comes out to introduce herself on Wednesday. ARGHHHHHHHHH I'm never going to get there.

Hello hello!

Where is every one? Out having fun I bet!

jaamy · 20/11/2006 18:07

Having fun? I wish, at work instead!
How you doing today, SR?

Simplyred · 20/11/2006 19:53

I'm ok!

Took my Aunt and Mum out shopping today. They said all the clothes I looked at would make me look like a trollop - or mutton dressed as lamb I know I'm not in the first flush of youth - but I'm not quite 40 yet

Rachel found it all very funny and when they asked if she liked the items she nodded energetically with approval!!!

mummyhill · 21/11/2006 09:29

at your aunt and your mum. What did you think of the clothes? You are the one wearing them so your opinion is rather important imo.

I am now going to change into my tatty joggers and tshirt then try to tidy up a bit as I have my new HV comming out to visit me tomorrow. Yipee.

Hello everyone. Sorry to be a stranger again. I get caught up in the odd controversial thread and then neglect all the nice fluffy areas where I would be better off staying.

Ut's my DD1's birthday tomorrow. And I know it is Idris's DS's too, so I wanted to come over here and see what you're doing Idris.

In a moment of madness I decided to do DD1's party at home. We have 6 or 7 3/4 year olds coming. I still have a bit of shopping to do for it, which is difficult, as Alice will not tolerate being in the buggy and walked around shops.

Does anyone know of any other party games suitable for 3/4 year olds? I have pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey, musical bumps, musical statues, a fishing game from Mothercare and that's it. I think we'll do pass the parcel twice. I'm worried we'll run out of games and then the children will run loose around the house

Idris - lovely ball photos. Are you and DH standing on the left, or left of the photo as we look at it? Either way, you all look lovely.

What is everyone getting their baby for Christmas?

IdrisTheDragon · 21/11/2006 12:27

Hello everyone .

Adreryn I keep wanting to type your old name. Probably will at some time .

Yes, it is DS's birthday tomorrow so I nearly have a 3 year old. Prepartations have been not really there due to lack of money and general not getting round to it itis. But cheques have cleared so Alice and I are off shopping this aternoon wjile Benjamin is at pre-school. Then he has an optician appointment.

Lunch is now ready so will try and return later .

pooka · 21/11/2006 14:13

Hi there - like Aderyn I do tend to go embroiled in the dog-eat-god threads rather too much!
We are a sick house at the moment. DD was sick on Sunday morning and then very off colour the rest of the day. Then me overnight on Sunday. Then Tom this morning. And now DH has just come home and gone to bed. (of course he goes to bed no worries. But then he's much more ill than I was ).
SR - I ALWAYS forget birthdays and things now. Just seem to have replaced important dates with other information like home remedies for stomach bugs, perfect ways of cleaning carpets following said bugs, how to cajole children into going to bed, etc. (shh though - people might hear and think that I've turned into a SAHM zombie!)
Apart from that, all well. Currently going through the whole looking at schools for Jan 2008 for dd. Can't beleive I'm already worrying about what'll happen if she doesn't get into the lovely school up the road (where she already goes as a pre-schooler, but the pre-school doesb't automatically feed in).
Happy birthday to all.
Loved the ball pics.

pooka · 21/11/2006 14:15

Haven't really thought about Christmas presents for anyone yet. DH is taking the day off next Tuesday and we're off to Bluewater to shop for the children.
Think may get Tom a ELC garage.

IdrisTheDragon · 22/11/2006 05:55

Happy birthday to DS and Aderyn's DD1 .

Alice is having a premature start to the day. I hope it stops soon...

Simplyred · 22/11/2006 07:23

Morning - Happy birthday Idris's DS and Aderyn's DD1.

Rachel walked yesterday!!!! I missed it as I was at class so now trying to encourage her to show me - but she keeps laughing and crawling off!!!

mummyhill · 22/11/2006 16:46

Hope the birthday children are having fun.

Premature starts to the day are allways such fun.

Have cooked and frozen a batch of chicken soup. Tidied the living room and kitchen with a friend. Had a good visit from my new HV. Homestart volunteer was ill again this week so no help this afternoon with sorting out the rest of the tip but hey ho.

mummyhill · 24/11/2006 12:20

Morning all.

Have sat here crying over my emails this morning due to the christmas thread started by soapbox. I can't believe how generous everyone is. I have also been following the thread with tears in my eyes.

D slept badly again last night.

I am off to see the gp later as I need to go back on my ad's cause I am not coping very well at all at the moment.

Hope everyone else is doing better than me atm. If not have a hug ((((hug)))).

Having got DH, Alice and Benjamin out of the house I now need to go round like a mad thing .

mummyhill · 25/11/2006 10:54

Hope the party goes well.

We have been up cooking cookies this morning, on the condition that dd is very good for daddy for the whole 11 hrs I shall be at work today. They will all be in bed snoring by the time I get in as I shan't finish till midnight tonight. I just love extended opening hours!!!!!! Shouldn't realy complain as the extra money will come in handy.

OP posts:
pooka · 27/11/2006 20:36

Hi Mummyhill! Will do
Have known her since our dds were about 6 weeks old. She is lovely.
Hope you're feeling better - or that you managed to see the GP and appointment went well. I'm still having days where I feel like I'm this close to imploding. Not depression as such - just I can get pretty worn down by the routine and dd being somewhat trying. She's lovely, but there are times when she gets a mad look in her eye and I get CROSS. Also could do without Tom testing every object's biomolecular make up by throwing it very hard on the kitchen floor. And eating cat food!
Is D teething? Tom is sleeping OK at the moment but am sure that'll change when the next teeth come through.
RE: MMR - does anyone have any advice. Finally got round to booking the appointment now he's have his PCV. But... the appointment is on the 19th of December. I recall when dd had hers she was really rather under the weather between 2 and 3 weeks later. Would it be really irresponsible to rebook the appointment for after christmas as I really don't want him feeling poorly (and the bad nights and day-time grumpiness involved) over the Christmas period.

Anyway - hope everyone well. Must get back to making the house look at least halfway decent before it's wrecked again tomorrow

mummyhill · 28/11/2006 03:34

Thanks pooka. She has instructions to give a hug to Tom from the hill family.

D is teething still. He was fine after his mmr which supprised me as dd was really ill after the first one.

Not suffering from insomnia as such, just got in from work incase you are wondering why I a mposting at this unearthly hour.
