That's disgraceful that we had a thread for a whiole year and didn't fill it we must try harder this year!

Does everyone realise that this time next year our little people are eligible for nursery school?

And there should be a few new siblings too!

Ood they are growing up so quickly aren't they? We moved dd into her big girls bed a couple of nights ago, due to her discovering how to climb out of cots. So far so good.

She has also entered the 'why?' phase. Aargh!

Feeling sad today as dh has returned to work and I'm taking all the decorations down.

BP. Decs come down here today too as we're driving back down south to our work home tonight, but there are some decs that can stay up there until 12th night .

DD has not worked out how to climb out of her cotbed yet, so it has not been converted. And I hope not to do that for a little while yet!

Does anyone have any lovely recipes that you and your DC love? DD is in a fussy stage and refusing almost everything.

We are not in the why stage yet, but the invented vocab. Camels are cardigans and coats, plankets instead of blankets, that kind of thing. So cute.

BP we are in the process of doing dd3 a room so we can have the cot. She's interested but it's part decorated as dh keeps having to go to work/do other stuff for me so limited time. Hoping to finish next week, then she can move

Yes, we were a bit quiet last yeah, well, mainly our numbers are dwindling. Would be great to hear from everyone on our AN threads!

I take our decorations down on NYE. A new clear tidy start to the new year.
We are trying to be more minimal here, cutting out what we don't really need.

Spec, I think just keep offering what you are offering, add more variety, and she will eat when she is hungry. I don't really do recipes much, I am very much a chuck it together and hope type cook, but pasta with lots of veg goes down well here, cheesy sauce pasta, rice dishes, noodles, pizza (oh man, does he love pizza!), potatoes with anything, tofu. I also leave a bowl of grapes out in easy reach some can help himself throughout the day, then offer other fruit here and there. He's also great with cereal, which sometimes he has for lunch! Porridge especially, he can eat a huge bowl.

Cereal for lunch is a good idea. Grapes within easy reach is also a fab idea, but one of the dogs is of equal height and very into getting ANY food available, and grapes are dangerous for dogs apparently. Bananas could work as no dog likes those. Pizza, potato, and any form of pasta that does not have pesto is now ignored. She did gobble a Moroccan tagine stew thingy tonight. We've got through for the last week on organic vegan sausages as she adores them and at least they contain vegetable matter and no crap. Found a great brand that we all really like. Fruit is fine too, but I don't want her eating just fruit as you get predictable results! Gone is my little BLW girl who loved roasted courgettes and steamed spinach!

Apparently it's normal to get fussy at this stage so we are relaxed about it but trying to make things that she loves but sneak other things in with them. So the other day was pesto pasta with cut up vegan sausage....

I did make a carrot and apple shortbread which did not look at all fruity or vegetably, but she wouldn't even try it. Tasted nice....

DS has fussy moments too, but I believe it is very normal, and they won't let themselves get too hungry, and I believe they'll eat when they want or need to.

Which brand sausage are they?

Taifun, the grill sausage one. They do a frankfurter one but DD doesn't like hotdog style ones.

Tescos are expanding their range of free from stuff and DD gobbled down a raspberry jelly. She loves the soya yoghurt too.

Oh and I totally agree that they'll eat when they're hungry, it's just frustrating when she'll refuse a meal then say hopefully...toast??

Fab re Tesco. I learned just after we got here they now do vegan cheese!

Yup! I do love this age, although I have loved each age so far. My friend said to me when I'd just had DD that you love every stage and think you would love the to stay that age and then think that all the way through .

Tescos are doing really well. But their range of sausages and 'meat' like products is thin. I looked at some quorn sausages but they have egg in which I am allergic to but the fact that they were made with a 'mushroom like protein' kind of made my stomach turn. Waitrose have a great range and I've also just recently found goodness direct which has a fab range.

Not so sure about loving pre teen/teen bit.

You never know....we might come through that ok.....

I always think that every day is brand new for me and for DD. I have no idea how to handle a 2years and 93 day old tomorrow and she's never been there either! I am going to try and remember that in the years to come, esp the teenage ones! Doesn't mean it'll work though!

Found you! Happy New Year. Spectres, dd is also toast queen. Yes, ds was also an 'I'd eat anything' baby.... Sadly, he has not come back through the fussy stage. Sigh. I was a fussy eater too as a youngster though, and so was my Monsiour Mangetout father incredibly apparently.

Double bill of new Borgen about to start. That's me happy. Perhaps I should move to Denmark .

Ps, Lentils given how mych you love Christmas, I was amazed to hear you take your decs down before Twelfth Night!

I'm doing teens and toddlers together. Didn't plan that well!

Ood, you might have struck on the right balance! The toddler tantrums will be like err, soo, embarrassing to see and might just prevent the teenage equivalent tantrum!

Floozie- I managed to get some toast vitamins into DD with marmite, but she won't even have that now! Toast is very plain nowadays.

First day back at the new nursery tomorrow! She has only done 2 days before Xmas and it was a whole month.

True, Floozie, I love Xmas. But I like a fresh start for the new year too, have an extra declutter, tidy up and clean, and it feels right to me to have December as my Xmas month, and then be all clear and tidy for the new year. Not set in stone, we may keep them up longer one year!

How rubbish for you on the walking front and I imagine its no help thinking that you'll have the baby soon, as it doesn't mean the pain will end.

What type of stuff does your DD1 defintely know?!
Is you DD" a foot thumper up the stairs and..pause for effect, massive door slammer with her tantrums?!
Well, THEY DIDN'T ASK FOR YOU TO BE PREGNANT...GAWWDDDD. . I can well imagine that my DD might be like yours... I had to wrestle her into a t-shirt this morning as she wouldn't wear one in favour of a summer coat she saw hanging in her wardrobe.

Dd2- yes stomps, slams doors & screams.

Dd3- me do it, mine and her latest 'not yet' when asked to do something.

None of them are anti baby/me being pg , they just don't understand why they might have to fill the dishwasher. They also don't seem to twig that they did it before I was pg too! The main way their jobs have increased is the up & down stairs!

They're probably researching lazy butlers to get round that problem as I type!

DD went through a MINE phase when she was playing with another little girl who taught her that. She's now on Nooooooooooooo!!!!! and I DO IT and AWAY MUMMY! That last one she has got from me as I tell one of the dogs Away! to stop him craftily licking DD or stealing her food. I now realise I need to say please and thank you more to the dogs as my friend had the temerity to give DD cheerios and then arrange them into a smily face. She TOUCHED DD's food. DD started shouting AWAY xxxx at my friend. My friend looked nonplussed and tried to get DD to say please which was not going to happen in this instance....

Aw, Ood, hope you are coping ok! How old are they?

DS waves me away with a cheery and charming 'byeeee' if he wants some space or privacy! :)

That is interesting Lentil. DD does say both please and thank you beautifully, just not when she's copying her mummy addressing the dog . To be fair, the dog is responding really well to please and thank you! He's probably thinking, at last! For years I've had to share a den with that rude woman....

DD also says bless you when we sneeze or anyone for that matter.

DS says "Bless you, Mummy" in the cutest voice when I sneeze!

He has a combination of English and German for thanks/danke - he says "danks"! :)
