Bryzoan that's really helpful - especially the tips on hip safe swaddling. Thanks fingers crossed you don't have to go through this a second time. I've got dibs on my sister's baby bjorn maybe will wait until J is older.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/12/2012 15:13

One appointment down, one to go six week check this afternoon.

ValiumQueen · 20/12/2012 15:20

Jags had. No reflux just sodding after effects of bronchiolitis. Leaves them much more susceptable to chestiness. Only five kids in DDs class and one went home ill. Figure it is just a matter of time. Tummy bug it seems. Joy.

Good news about tests and well done YW I wonder if I should give up dairy to see if J sleeps so well. Likely end of growth spurt will help too.

ValiumQueen · 20/12/2012 15:26

Washable nappies help hips too. Not had a chance to comment on FB pass but it looks ok. Time will tell. If red marks too tight, if leaks too loose. What have you stuffed with? Fat boy is on the tightest lower poppas and no overlap but no exposed poppas on top row. He does not mind them being pink.

Bryzoan · 20/12/2012 15:30

Bugger - our scan this time wasn't great. Little G is now in a pavlik harness... :-(

Passmethecrisps · 20/12/2012 15:34

Thanks VQ. I just changed her and there was a small amount of leakage. I am using one cotton liner (I think - whatever came with the OSFA deal). She seemed pretty chirpy when I changed her - no crying and no red marks that I could see. I am desperate to try one with a poo but no such luck yet today.

bryzoan that is incredibly helpful. Your poor DD sounds like she was really through the mill. Hip health is not something I ever really think about so it is a real eye opener. We were given a baby Bjorne but I might do a bit more reading before getting it out.

Passmethecrisps · 20/12/2012 15:35

Oh no bryzoan. Excuse my ignorance but what does that mean?

ValiumQueen · 20/12/2012 15:39

bryzoan sorry to hear that x

pass how long did that last? I use a bamboo booster too alongside a microfibre insert. It can go a good 4 hours but if I hear poo I change asap. Have had a couple of leaks but not suprising the force they come out. He has been in disposables as out for most of day. They last an hour on him as he wees so much.

GTbaby · 20/12/2012 15:43

Ok. 9 weeks n LO is not really smiling. Mil managed to make him smile the other day. IMAGIN my frustration at that.

He is being very fussy today. Asleep on me ATM. Enjoying the quite cuddle. But am cold n have ironing to do. So must crack on. Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 20/12/2012 15:45

Bryzoan that's not good news :( x

DD1 had a hip scan as she spent most of the end of my pregnancy breech. Hasn't been offered for this LO.

Passmethecrisps · 20/12/2012 15:45

Just checked my obsessive compulsive log and it was on about 4.5 hours. The leaking was only slight - didn't notice until I went to change her anyway. Having said that p is not peeing quite as much as usual still as her fluid intake is not yet back to normal. Having said that miss piggy has already taken more today than she did all day yesterday.

PetiteRaleuse · 20/12/2012 15:47

GT I can imagine. i was in hospital when DD1 started smiling and my MIL got almost a whole week of smiles that I missed out on and still tells the world now that my DD smiled at her first

Very frustrating. Don't worry, in a few weeks they stop smiling at all and sundry and keep the best smiles for mum and dad and the dog in my case . Your smile tally will rocket :)

Passmethecrisps · 20/12/2012 15:48

Just googled the harness - big hugs to you bryzoan. How long is g likely to be in it for?

Passmethecrisps · 20/12/2012 15:50

Yup GT. P flashed one of her incredibly rare gummy grins at the bloody health visitor.

MissMummy1 · 20/12/2012 15:53

Just been to get M weighed. She pood and weed all over the scales, despite just being changed. Blush Up to 9lbs7oz so chuffed with that. HV critisised me for self diagnosing her rash (I didnt, both my mum - a retired nurse - and the health visitor next door diagnosed heat rash). This hv seemed convinced it was an allergy Hmm but wouldnt say what to Confused . And has given us the same ointment hv next door gave us... Was very stressful trip out. It's stormy here too and tescos was rammed with inconsiderate pensioners Angry

In other news dp has apologised - again - for being a twunt after i left his pjs and a duvet outside the bedroom door last night with a note telling him how pissed off i was...

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 20/12/2012 15:58

Sorry to hear that bryzoan

Passmethecrisps · 20/12/2012 15:58

Pee and poo? Full house in Baby bingo! Or would that include vom?

ValiumQueen · 20/12/2012 16:01

Pee poo vom and snot is full house.

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 20/12/2012 16:03

Quick stupid question; A is feeding lots today (slightly over 2hrs being longest period from start to start of feed) and about 3x as long as yesterday each feed (30mins+). Could this be because I'm feeding on the 1 mastitis boob & he's having to work harder (am expressing from other boob) OR is it the 6wk growth spurt? He's 5+5wo.

MissMummy1 · 20/12/2012 16:04

She'd vommed all over me 10 mins before...

Passmethecrisps · 20/12/2012 16:12

Well, it's DP's turn for the snot then

ValiumQueen · 20/12/2012 16:15

Chunky if the same thing happens overnight it is growth spurt.

YellowWellies · 20/12/2012 16:21

Oh no bryzoan still if G has similar symptoms please stop beating yourself up that the condition could have been avoided in your eldest - it sounds like it's something that just runs in the family xxx

As for bodily fluid bingo - am afraid I got that the day in the hospital when along with the holy trinity of piss, poo and vom - DS bled on me after one of his heel pricks :(

HV just been around - Jonas is 10 lb 1 oz! She also agrees that it is reflux and is sorting me out a dietician's appointment for my health.

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 20/12/2012 16:25

lane I couldn't express much with DD, even using medela swing elec pump, doing it during a feed &/or when a feed was missed/dropped. No idea why - whether it was because I left it until DD was over 6wks, I hadn't a good supply or what, although I wasn't very determined about it (I didn't ever look into ways to up it etc). I leaked loads, so collecting that a couple of times a day, most days, meant I'd get enough for the occassional bottle. However, this time, I still leak loads, but also can pump (relatively) loads. Only feeding from the right today, so having to pump left. I got 3.5, 4 & 4oz the 3 times I've done it today. All stunt & pikz's suggestions are great & you'll probably find your pumping improves.

stunt you're spot on about the reflux issue. Have a feeling A has issues with certain foods I've eaten rather than genuine 'reflux', so will have to keep an eye on it.

bryzoan :( sorry to hear that. Best wishes etc.
