Started new thread, ladies - unimaginative name, but I figured it was suitable now we've been loving it up with out seats :)

I had Caitlin in hers for a few minutes today so it seems very appropriate! She looks so funny in there sitting up looking all surprised and inquisitive! Also she can see get feet better in there than anywhere else it seems because she was absolutely fascinated by them! She sat there looking smug holding onto the little thing between the legs with both hands surveying the room from a much more upright vantage than usual!

Cali and MrsA (and everyone else too!) thanks for support re HV and weight gain. If I'm still concerned when I see the doc for her jabs next week I'll mention it then.

TwoJacks been meaning to check with you about when we need to look into buying roses as I am very conscious that I have Sylvie-Rose's collection. If I remember rightly she would be 6 months old tmw so she & Chip have been very much in my thoughts

I can't imagine Blake in a bumbo - he doesn't seem strong enough! There's one at our local toddler place though so I'll be brave and try him in it tomorrow..

I bought a bumbo for J, but decided to take it back and just buy him a highchair instead, he does like it and so conveniant when I am cooking in the kitchen to have him sat watching.

Been to my postnatal exercise class this afternoon, so much hard work and so much fun, am hoping to go to the gym a couple of times a week too while I have the time, although J was less than impressed by the buggy fit, running around bit, he just looked super confused about what I was doing and then fell asleep

Oh new thread! Little man has been under the weather but has been a bit better today although he is still coughing.

Edinburgh mums can you recommend baby friendly places as visiting my parents soon. Busy batch cooking for dh. Think he will find the place v quiet without little man and me!

Have hit the magic 3 month Mark but no sign of sleeping through the night yet.

Hi new thread, I giggled at the title!

It's a big week for us this week as Lucas is being baptised on Sunday. I'm very excited and have been running errands to prepare. He is wearing the gown that his Daddy was baptised in (and his uncle & cousins) plus a beautiful coat that my Dad has bought him.

Latest developments are grabbing things, reaching for toys he is interested in and turning his head when he hears my voice (melt!) as well as continuing babbling and chatting to me, Daddy, Nanny and various toys / inanimate objects. The ceiling light is a favourite, even when switched off. We almost had rolling from front to back today, but he only got halfway. He's 'throwing' his legs over and half rolling with the momentum. He just doesn't stop moving, the little wriggler

I love hearing about all of your babies, they are so entertaining.

The ceiling light is a big favourite in our house too! In fact, on most houses! It's bizarre how much time she will spend smiling at it, kicking her legs and babbling. I thought it was just her so lovely to hear about your LO too! I wonder what it is that makes them so fascinating...

Book marking. DS is trying to sit up at 10 weeks......he's nowhere near ready but he's started to swing his legs up and out as if trying to sit up. DD did not even crawl till 11 months so i think things might be different with this one :)

I'm playing hookey from nursery tomorrow (well DD is) and I'm taking her and DS to see Puss in Boots at the kids morning cinema. Can't wait - it's DD's first trip to the cinema and I'm hoping DS will just feed, gurgle and sleep (and not poo! He only poos once a day generally)! The tickets are £1.25 each, so I have bought 3 so I have one seat all for the car seat and they can't complain about it blocking the aisle.

I haven't posted for a few days, and whilst I'm gone, the old thread fills up and we're on a new one! But I've found you all now.

DD was on half term from school, and we decided at the last moment to go to Dublin for a few days. We go there quite often, and know the city quite well, and have driven round it. We were armed with maps and route planners and we still ended up getting lost, and I really hate it, because like all big cities, there are plenty of places that you don't really want to accidentally end up in. But we had a great time. The signposts are terrible though!

We have also got out the Bumbo. It belonged to DD, so its pink, but DS doesn't seem to mind!

I am going to be a boasting mum now, because I can't boast to anyone in real life, because, well, no one likes a boaster. But....DD came home from school the other day with a prize in her schoolbag. The headmaster had presented it to her in assembly, they had awarded a prize for the best work in each year at her school, and she was top of her year. Am so proud! She is only little, but its so nice to see how much it means to her that her teachers are pleased with her. She doesn't give a toss what her parents think, naturally, but the approval of teachers is all important.

Somersaults I hope you and baby Somersaults are recovered from your stomach bug, those things suck the life out of you. Or more accurately, they propel the life out of you. We've all been there.

My mum has paid for a two week break in Sweden after Abi's baptism - I can't wait! We're holding the baptism next month, and we're getting more and more excited :) I'm embroidering Abi's name on the heirloom dress, even though I'm having trouble fitting her full name on there - curse these middle names and double barrel surnames!

I've hunted through the ante-natal threads to find the rose discussion, we had agreed on a rose, Lady Sylvia, there were two companies which supplied, but one is out of stock according to their website. So, I think there is just David Austin who have the rose in stock, the line is; David Austin Lady Sylvia. Depending on how much was raised, I personally would buy say three roses, so they can grow together and make a bigger bush and then we had agreed that any other money would be donated to SANDS on Chip and Sylvia's behalf.

Alicat, I'll pm you Chip's address.

I'm off on holiday to Centerparcs tomorrow, cannot wait!!!!!

Phew, well I have finally made it to the end of the thread. It has taken weeks to read and I'm not even sure I can remember it all.

I dropped off the thread in october with our early arrival. Time flies. We are doing fab, I'm loving life motherhood with my lovely wee boy.

I have sent Chipmonkey a message today as it is Sylvie-Rose's half-birthday. I have told her about our plans to send roses & make a donation to a charity of their choice. David Austin looks like a goer & have quoted to deliver to where she lives.

By the way, at Christmas I donated £15 to SANDS from the proceeds from the pattern I made - I've never had that many pattern sales!

Abi's got a fever today, 38.4 and a bit of a cough. Will be postponing the shots on Monday if she's not well by then - not having a repeat performance of past problems.

If city centre then those are gd ideas. Jl is particularly baby friendly and there are always lots of buggies and babies. All bar one also spacious for buggy.

That's great Cali (pattern sales not Abi being poorly!) - if I had even a shred of creative ability I'd have bought one!

Henry has been struggling with an awful cough since his 2nd jabs & it sounds awful poor thing, hope Abi recovers quickly

Blake has not stopped eating since his jabs on Tue.. Not the reaction I was expecting..

I tried him in a bumbo today, he sat looking all pleased with himself with his little head lolling about, so funny.

Tried a bumbo at mummy and baby Pilates today... E loved it but I don't think I'll get one as if she gets any bigger she wouldn't fit it (my little chunk)...someone mentioned the ones with trays are good when you start weaning but no way would she fit it by then so high chair it is as soon as the builders finish the kitchen!!!
I often think of chip and hope she's doing ok..glad the money is going towards something lovely.
cali amazing 2 weeks holiday. Bet you can't wait! Anyone else got any trips planned?

E had first trip to cinema yesterday and was very well behaved... We saw the woman in black (well I did, tbh she slept through a lot and good job really, it was quite scary!!). Also had mummy and baby Pilates for first time today which was fun...bit of drama at end of class tho, one of the girls carried her baby across the room in her car seat without her strapped in and the baby fell out. It was awful, baby cried straight away which was a good sign but she went with a right bang and had a bruised cheek. Ambulance came and paramedics weren't concerned but took her to be checked to be on safe side. Her poor mum was beside herself, in shock, really felt for her. Anyway turned out all was fine with baby so that's a relief although I'm sure her mum will be beating herself up about it for a while poor thing.
Still up for tc meet up although cant do thurs as we have Pilates and then swimming from next week, mon, wed or fri best for me.

Hi all

Suffering today feeling rotten with beginnings of cold/flu thingie. Think Luke might be the same as he's been rather hard to settle this evening - just managed to get him to sleep, am knackered.

We were given our bumbo and it does have one of those trays on - I wondered what it was for, when is weaning? Not yet surely? When do they advise nowadays?

I can do TC Wednesday morning if that's any good to anyone?

Kate - that's awful about that poor baby, bet the mum doesn't recover for weeks.

Saw a very funny thing the other day - I was waiting for a parking space at the TC, the mum put the car seat on the floor next to the car, loaded up the pram in the boot, then drove off leaving the baby on the floor in the empty space! Ohoh baby brain strikes again. I know just how she feels.

It's awful when your baby falls. I dropped DD when she was about 8 weeks old. I had her in the crook of my arm and I turned and she just sort of flipped over my arm. I managed to grab her bum as she went which turned her over so she landed on her bottom not her head. Luckily the room we were in was carpeted. I felt awful. She cried a bit but seemed fine but I'll never forget it.

As to TC meet, I can generally do Mon, Tues and Thurs but not Wed and fri (Fri I would have a very 'independent' 3.5 yr old with me). However next week we have no baby sensory classes, so I could actually do this wednesday if everyone can also?
