good one dh
mlic what you having for your indian tea? im having lamb bhuna, prawn puri, honey naan, rice and poppadoms and pickles....when dh gets home, he is currently sitting in traffic hours away!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 14/02/2012 17:46

Not that you've thought about it much memph Wink

I'll probably have king prawn rogan josh or bhuna, pilau rice and share a peshwari naan with dh. We might get onion bhajis, depends if dh wants to. Most important is the Hardy's Crest to wash it down!

Thanks for the new thread dh

We don't really do Valentines Day, it's not very in your face here, we didn't do cards but I made dh breakfast in bed and a fancy (for me) tea. He dought me some Hula Hoops (can't generally get them here) and some, ahem, massage-y stuff that we tried out...

memphis83 · 14/02/2012 19:12

mlic I genuinely woke up having had a dream about a curry, its all ive thought about all day! Grin dh will be back in an hour, I have no wine, only expensive stuff I refuse to open, so may have a bottle of coors! dh hates prawns, refuses to go near them, and when we went out last year he ate a whole king prawn tikka bar one and then said ooh I think this chicken is off, then once I explained they had given him prawns we had to leave as he felt ill! Grin
spirael do you just get paneer from normal supermarkets? I forgot to look for it the other day and shop here doesnt do it.
L is in bed, he pulled a drawer with a safety catch on so hard it sprung back and banged his finger, its taken all the skin off, I put a plaster on but he pulled at it til it came off making it bleed more!
Supposed to be meeting my friend tomorrow with the devil kids but ive cancelled as its half term and the older devil child is off school!
dh left at 4 this morning so once curry is down he will be asleep leaving me to watch gypsy wedding!

Woodlands · 14/02/2012 19:23

helllloooo! about to have to go and put the boy to bed but just marking place first.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 14/02/2012 20:03

King prawn bhuna - was delish :)

Thanks for the reminder, I'm watching a film so paused it to go back to the tv and record Gypsy Wedding and Prisoners' Wives

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 14/02/2012 20:05

You still exercising btw memph? I've got right back into it. On day 4 today of Active (wii) and wii fit. Did Active Sunday, yesterday and today and wii fit all Sat, Sun, Yest and today.

Shame I then binge eat all night Blush

My friend has returned my Shred too. Might start back up with that.

viksam · 14/02/2012 21:57

Mmmmm curry sounds ace! We had steak. It was yummy! Another quiet evening! That's the third in a row, how ace, I'm sure it will bite me in the ass though regarding night time feeds, I bet he won't settle for hrs or something.
Shit I'm tired, D's at the cm tomorrow and I'm having my hair cut and then the hv is coming to discuss D's sleep issues. Should be interesting.

I'm here, things are still shit. DH and I are both surviving on 3-4 hours broken sleep a night despite taking it in turns to deal with dc.
viks hope your night was alright in the end.
Welcome back tsc
Thanks for the thread dh

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 15/02/2012 08:26

Hi tsc

Well, how did he do overnight vik? Hope you get some decent support from the hv.

As is usual these days W slept through but E was up Angry I went through and asked him why he was crying - he said 'because you took my ball off me'. He'd obviously had a 'bad' dream, haha!

I have conjuntivitis now chul! Luckily I had some drops in the fridge so can use those.

I'm so low on energy today. I think it's just this cold. I know I was so tired I fell asleep on the couch at 9.30pm last night. Hope I get some energy soon!

Spirael · 15/02/2012 08:55

I'm here. :) Things are finally picking up a bit, which is a relief. Work is still messing me around, but at least my kitchen is finally finished, DH and I successfully repaired the fireplace in the lounge over the weekend and the bank has finally completed the financing for the building work - so we can afford to survive again! Assuming nothing else breaks spontaneously. [deathglare]

I normally just get my paneer from Ocado, memphis. Some of the local supermarkets do it too, but in this area it's normally the ones closer to Bradford than Leeds, unsurprisingly! Morrisons is usually the most likely to have it in, but I've seen it in Tesco too.

M had a cup of milk with dinner last night and wasn't offered a bottle before bed, and was fine with that. :) She wasn't happy being set down in her cot to be read a story, but was happy to just be cuddled by me while DH read. I guess we'll slowly work towards being in the cot for the story!

I guess this means the bottles, bottle warmer and associated stuff can all get put in the loft now! My tiny baby is growing up. Shock Sad Grin in equal measure. Wink

memphis83 · 15/02/2012 09:30

mlic shame about E waking, my curry was crap again, it was my fave indian but last 2 have been so hot, I extra for a extra mild lamb bhuna, got a super hot chicken one, wont be going back there now!
tsc welcome back....so how was grannie?
chulita sorry things are shit your end.
spirael im reckoning the supermarkets near the city will all sell it, our world foods aisle are 99% indian spices and foods so they must have it, the veg aisle has indian veg/fruit section and we also have halal meats section that is huge, as I dont eat cheese except a pack of chedder and dont look further!

DH is away til friday, he woke at 4am and so did L, he wouldnt settle, his teeth are causing him grief so I brought him into our bed, after an hour of soothing he felll asleep but was so wound up he had to be against me, everytime I moved so did he so I didnt sleep from then, he isnt feeling great currently walking around holding 4 dummies and getting angry as he cant read his books or play while holding them! Rang my sister with an SOS to take him for an hour but she is on nights so asleep! :( Just spoke to my friend with a 2 yo, she says her dd is up at 4am every day and doesnt nap Shock that would finish me off!

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/02/2012 09:51

I think I must be one of the few people who wishes their ds didn't nap. D falls asleep in the car so I let him have 20ish mins but he sleeps SO much better at night when he hadn't had a nap so it's a battle everyday. I'm torn between keeping him up in the day and him being whiny at 4ish or letting him have a short nap and then him waking at 10ish.

Hope everyone had a nice valentines day, dh bought me a bottle of wine which I'll prob save for fri night.

kkfairybrains · 15/02/2012 10:25

Hi everyone!
Thanks for the thread dh.
Seriously chul I don't know how you're doing it. I really really feel for you. Hope you manage to get some proper sleep in before baby arrives.
I know how you feel mlic i've been feeling like that for nearly 5 weeks now and now i have a bad cold just to make me feel worse! poor little E and his bad dream!
Glad things have been good there vik. What do you think it is?
Spireal thats brill that your kitchen is finished! Must have been torture living in that.
Memph hope you manage to get some rest today. 4am is not a good time to start the day!

memphis83 · 15/02/2012 10:27

dh L doesnt really nap on the day my mum has him, as so much is going on he doesnt want to miss anything, but any day we have vistors or go to a group he needs to sleep or he cries at the gate for bed at 5pm!
He has just gone down now standing at gate with a bottle asking to go up!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 15/02/2012 11:05

I was saying similar to dh this morning Spirael - I'm really looking forward to the summer. Not only the nice er weather but W being 2 means I'll be able to trust him a bit more when it comes to playing in the garden, the stair gate will be down, he'll be out of nappies...etc., etc.

How lovely to have a finished kitchen!

Chul :( Poor you. Is it both of them up in the night or just one?

Where I live has a really, really tiny Indian population yet our Asda and Morrison's both sell paneer.

W naps at home because I can put him in his cot. Anywhere else (with the obvious exception of the buggy and car) he can get up and walk off so will not give in to sleep. So if I'm at someone's house for the day, he won't nap.

Hope you're feeling better soon kk. Work still going well?

Chulita · 15/02/2012 14:00

It's normally just one or the other but sometimes they tag team. I've also got a cold/cough now so that on top of the rest is making me ultra run-down. Sorry you're ill too mlisc, it's such a crap time of year.

I've never had paneer, might have to give it a go. I was going to do a steak and ale pie but I don't have the energy to cook, tempted to do an indian order instead. Spice might clear my nostrils and kick start labour

memphis I think a lot of S's trouble at the mo is teething, he's always wandering the house with his hands in his mouth moaning. I had a feel of his gums this morning and I reckon the back bottom left is bulging. I'm going to break out the teething powder today and see if that makes a difference. His nappies are horrendous, after 4 hours sleep last night I went into their room this morning to find poo leaked all over his bed/pjs/monkey and him trying to eat it he never normally leaks out of his night nappy.

Hope you get better quickly kkfairy

Gotta go, L's just woken up, badly by the sounds of it.

memphis83 · 15/02/2012 14:39

chulita do you rub the teething powder in or just drop it in the mouth? Ive always just dropped it in but wonder if it will do more by rubbing it in?
Hope acurry will sort you out, mine hasnt shifted my cough or rubbish feeling but has cleared up sore throut and swapped it for a runny nose! If labour started for you would you have to goin for c section or labour?
mlic when would you put w in a bed? I always thought I would do it sooner but im now thinking not, L will lie in a bed though, he knows when hes tired and wont usually fight it.
We are watching Nemo, the house is still a tip and im still trying not to see it Grin

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 15/02/2012 14:55

E is kicking off because I've turned the wii off and he 'hasn't had enough' Angry I thought I'd have to start fighting with them about too much computer time as teens, not at bloody 3yo Shock

My 'repaired' phone has gone again. Not happy. And I just rang up and they said they don't sell it anymore so I can get a new phone but not the same one :(

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 15/02/2012 14:56

Oh and W won't be going into a bed until a cot becomes dangerous. Ie he is going to hurt himself climbing. He is perfectly capable of climbing out at the moment, he's tall enough and strong enough, but he doesn't try. I'm in no hurry to have a middle-of-the-night-wanderer Wink

memphis83 · 15/02/2012 15:08

L is also strong enough and can scale the stair gtes but has never tried to get out of the cot... but my dad left my half brother in a cot til 4.5 as he never attempted to climb out, I dont want to be that mother Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/02/2012 15:14

D fell asleep in the buggy at 2:40 so I got him in the car and drive home (5 mins) got him out carried him upstairs, laid him on the sofa took his shoes and coat off and the whole time he was out of it.
I had to jiggle him up and down and say wakey wakey! It feels so mean but he's not grumpy, although I would have been later at bedtime when he's messing around because of a late nap!

OP posts:
Chulita · 15/02/2012 15:25

I do a bit of both memph, I shake a load in and then rub whatever's left in the bit that I think hurts most.
If I did start labouring it'd be an emcs but tbh I don't care as long as he's out!

I'd like to take the sides off S's bed but he'd be up annoying L in the morning whereas at the mo when he wakes up he just whinges at her through the bars. He's still on 5am wake-ups...we were discussing early wakings at the children's centre today and one lady said "I wouldn't put up with that, I love my sleep too much" Hmm As if this is something I'm happy with...tit.

mlisc L does the same, I started telling her that if she cried when I turned it off then I wouldn't ever turn it on. When she realised I meant it she stopped, thank goodness.

You can tell how knackered I am, I'm letting them watch baby Jake. My brain just dissolved and dripped out my ears but at least S is quiet for once.
