Bums of course the one day we need a good night sleep he wakes at 3, not gone back to sleep yet, had a bottle a feed off me then more bottle, he's been put down twice and now DH has him while I wash some bottles for the morning to save a job before the 8am airport run. I hate growth spurts Angry

Made it through the night but am tired out and my nipples are feeling chewed. Really really REALLY hope this tongue tie thing isn't just my imagination and that it gets treeated and makes a difference. I can see why oeople give up bfing sooner: as DS gets bigger the nights are def getting linger and longer for him to get enough milk.

Morning Ladies.

We didn't have a good night. I got less than 2hrs sleep as Sky was grizzly and just didn't want to sleep Sad think it might be something to do with the mucus in her chest and nasal passages!

Seems like we are all exhausted. Not that I want any of you to be tired but it really helps somehow to know I am not alone and there is a band of us struggling along together!

This too shall pass ... !

Haddocks for husbands! Oh dear!
My DH said I had to make sure I was getting enough vit d, and he'd get whatever it was it comes in for me. So that was a big more sensitively put! I wasn't asked to stay up all night!
Liver, lmf, I fry it with onions, chilli, red wine and creme fraiche. Mmmmm!
( but we're on sausage, mash n mushy peas tonight Grin).
Good luck with the tongue tie appt aethel.
After the projectile vomiting, LO had a long feed at 9-10pm, slept til 2am (short feed), and again til 6am, and again til 8:15am. Dozing now... Dare I risk getting in the shower?

Morning all!! Sorry everyone also had shitty nights; DH went off to work at 5, after a night of 1 hour of sleep, DS has just, finally gone to sleep after being awake from 3!
Making the spare bed tonight so DH can get some sleep.

Oi, hope you managed a shower...DS has a bathroom sensor, he starts screaming the house down the second I sit on the loo/get in bath/brush teeth.
Looking forward to him reaching 2 months so I can start giving him some calpol/nurofen for pain relief!

OiMissus · 01/02/2012 09:57

awch when we left the hospital and LO was 3 days old and 9lbs, we were told infant calpol is ok and were given a dose advice of 1.6ml (with syringe). Hope this helps.

Rubbish nights sleep here too. Took ages to get f back in his Moses basket each time. Only for 4 hrs sleep in two sections makes for a tired and grumpy mummy. Then of course he popped straight back into it after.his 7am feed when I had to get up.

Also got a really sore boob. Not sure it is just from lots of expressing and bf ing, a blocked duct, thrush or mastitis. It's a sharp stabby pain when f latched on which fades as the feed progresses. Nipple a bit bruised and sore as well - need to keep an eye on it me thinks.

seven has he surfaced yet? If he's hungover you can get your revenge by giving him Eva to look after when she's at her screamiest Grin

aethel hope all goes well today

DD is at nursery again today and my plan is to sort out baby clothes. I need to pack away all the things DS has already grown out of and see if any of DD's 3-6month things are unisex enough for DS to wear.

We've just moved up to size 3 nappies and I was hopeful that they'd contain the poosplosions, but sadly not. Yet another leak down the leg hole and change of outfit this morning!

aethel - I loved the BattlestarGalactica remakes, and have got Caprica on DVD. It took me a while to get into it, but stick with it because the second half of the series is much better than the first. I think this is yet another series that I like that has been cancelled after the first series - boo! (what does that say about my taste!)

we've also signed up for the free trials for lovefilm and netflix, but have to say that so far, the range on lovefilm (for streaming) is much better.

kitty, you were asking about milkspots. Both the dses had them at birth, and they do disappear. Ds2 is nearly 9 weeks and they've been gone for at least a week.

DS2 had his first set of vaccinations today. He had a bit of a cry when the needles went in, but had calmed down before we had even left the nurses office.

Well, lesson learned. I should have woken DS last night. He woke 5 times to eat between 11pm & 7am & was very wriggly & noisy all night so I am feeling pretty lousy.

Weirdly though, I seem to get more done on less sleep. I have managed to finish prewashing the load of nappies that arrived yesterday & they're hanging out in the sun. I've got a fire going, hoovered & dusted & just pulled a load of washing out of the machine & put another lot on! Think I'll try to have a wash now that Rocco is having a nap as DP managed to fix the hot water problem; assuming his bathroom sensor doesn't go off Grin

Good luck today aethel I've watched the Caprica series but haven't seen Battlestar yet; sounds like it's worth a look.

LMF it sounds like you're dealing with octoboy's stay in hospital brilliantly...I think know I'd be a gibbering wreck in your shoes considering how stressed I've been over Rocco's snotty nose :o

I'm having a bad day.

I could not get childcare to go to the child in need meeting yeasterday and the SW did not go to the meeting. The HV and the FSW (who are friends) have now decided that my kitchen is a safety hazard (washing basket on floor), that my DH looks tired and they are concered for his heath (um he had just finshed work and has a 9 week old baby, show me someone with a newborn that is not fucking tired!) and cos my son does not like to get shouted at and he runs off hides and puts his hands over his eyes (so you cant see him) they want to refer him to someone (so a 3yo that does not like being shouted at is a sign of abuse Hmm). DH mum and dad are our only family here and they are nearly 70 yo and only his mum drives now - the SW wants to see them to see what help they can offer to look after Aaron - Why is a 70 yo woman better at looking after my 3yo than me? I did not know we live in a dictatorship where SS can make OAP's provide free childcare Shock

I'm going to call them up and ask from the name of their manager and the postal address so that we can complain.

The best did is that sw will contiune to visit every 2 weeks - we have not seen her in 2 months

that ss want me to do a food diary for air - not agreed by me, no one told me, like i have time to write everything he eats and the quantities down - i thought that if he is fallowing the centile he is fine. Or is it cos i'm fat they think my skinny healthy receently bf child is being feed junk food or not feed at all - and that him running round all the time is a sign of this Confused

I'm pissed off can you tell?

Off to make calls

I'm going to see MHN tomoro and take everything with me to explaine how they are having a depremental impact on my mental health and my ability to confidently parent.

Oh an cos i dont want to leave Air alone with Hope and i tell him to be gental with her - i have issues controling his behaviour and need parenting classes. When i called nursary to say i will stay and watch air and bring hope they warned me that Hope might getmobbed by the 3yo?

So today was meant to be lie-in day... but instead I get dragged out of bed with both mobile and landline going off, because of my Mum's latest crisis over the dining room extension. This time about the wheelchair ramp.

Whilst I do not have the space to go on about the illnesss, lack of family, disabilities, guilt-trips, evil neighbours, mental health issues, etc, this bloody extension and my Mum's panic attacks have been the backdrop of my whole pregnancy and the first weeks of Ben's life...sigh.

Anyhow...

Given the above, we're having a slumming day; I'm still in my jim-jams and watching Poirot as I can't get the time to leap in the shower. Although to give the wee man his dues he is actually a) not attached to me and b) not crying, so hurrah! He also didn't yell the place down yesterday evening, mainly because he did it in the afternoon Confused!

Will try to get the kitchen sorted.

I can't wait for Being Human aethel, but we've still got all of Misfits to watch!

Hawthers I think there should be a ban on all DPs/Hs having lie-ins and/or saying that they're tired, especially if they're not doing any of the night feeds, or they face the wrath of haddock...
That's unfortunate to say the least seven.... are you going to tell him?

Good luck figgy and aethel today!

WTAF air!?! I really hope this gets sorted & your complaint is taken v.seriously. Hope it's not stressing you out too much.

Honey, hope your new batch of nappies are great, glad DP got your water problem sorted.
Sorry to here your LO came with inbuilt bathroom sensor too Grin hope it didn't go off during your shower!

I've been out & bought all the homeopathic teething remedies on the highstreet, typically LO fell asleep the second we left the house & is still down in his buggy.

Envy AWCH

LO doesn't sleep much during the day.

I need him to sleep so I can get a shower, so that I can get dressed and put the sling on, so that I can put him in it for him to fall asleep....

You see the problem here folks?!

I could of course just put the sling on over my sexy green nightshirt, purple jim jam trousers (and black and white slippers) outfit, but would like to be clean and dressed by the time DP gets home...

Think I may have to compromise somewhere...gah.
