good luck today for hawthers and coolhand

I think I'm one of the few people in the world not on facebook, could we keep this thread going in parallel? (not sure how fb is setup/what is and isn't possible)

after saturday night being horrible, and ds shouting every time I tried to put him down on sunday, last night was great, he only woke up twice. there is no rhyme or reason

Oh yeah, keep the thread too, fb is just useful for photos and chat when its three in the morning and the baby will not sleep. Caspar fed at 2, 4, 5, and 7 and couldn't go back down in-between. Blurgh!

hawthers I second everything lmf said, my DDs 1 and 2 were exactly the same and are energetic and healthy. Good luck for your appointment.

I'm up for a fb group too.

air oops! If you are worried (can't remember if you are bfing) the morning after pill is fine while bfing.

sequin do you rate bumbos? Was thinking about getting one for Miri as she loves being in the middle of whatever her sisters are doing.

seven knitting is very cool, as are the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I am crocheting a giant rainbow blanket at the moment, tis king sized!

DD2 and I are full of cold, it is horrid, my brain won't work properly!

Good luck today Hawthers!
Up for fb group, but would want thread to remain as active and awesome as it is atm.

msbuggy we just ordered a bumbo 2nd hand off ebay, they go for around £20 2nd hand so I guess if you got one & didn't like it, you wouldn't lose that much in the resale.

Just thought I'd let you all know we DTD...lots Grin on Saturday. After which I fell asleep before 11pm. Rock n roll.

Morning. Eva slept from 7.30 until 5am, then back down until 7. I feel bad that she went so long between feeds, I don't normally wake her because she was grumpy last time but she never goes that long. Will wake her at 11 for a feed tonight and see what happens. The downside is that it's messed up her routine she'd gotten into so she's a bit grumpy unsettled this morning.

air I second getting yourself to the chemist.

hawthers you've already had great advice but just want to send a ((hug)).

I done a pregnancy test this morning, negative. Eva is now 13 weeks, I'm not BFing but still no AF, where is it?!

I've given up any thought of a proper routine for my LO easily; yesterday, barring the dozing off at the boob thing, he didn't sleep a wink all day. So 12 hours without a sleep...yet on Friday he slept for around four hours in total. Sadly, the former is far more representative of his approach to life! And he's a grazer- he will go longer without feeding if we're on the move, but at home he's a once an hour chappie.

The two things that you must keep at the forefront of your mind hawthers is that your much loved and cared for child is both gaining weight, and is obviously happy and content. It's not like you're reporting he's listless, crying and miserable.
Also, as LMF says, the amount you express means nowt. If I get 60ml a day I'm chuffed.
I'll second everyone on here who says get a proper referral. And we'll be here if you feel down later on.

SoTired I'm not on fb either, owing to work. I'm sure the thread will keep going though whatever happens! Although they were for fb, I'd be happy with any of LMF's suggestions as a new thread title which we'll probably need before the day is out. Should we also get the names and birthdays at the top like we had with the previous one?

Will go off to bf group- however, it starts at 10, which conflicts with LO's one semi-guarenteed nap time, which wins the contest!

This week will see me and DS

  • Plant out violas
  • Make minestrone
  • Go to work
  • Get train to visit friend who's having an op tomorrow
  • Walk into next town to get nice bottle of sherry for DStep-Mum's birthday.

Morning all!

Had a lovely time on Friday meeting Oi, Benny, Kri5ty, Easily and Sparkley We do indeed have some very attractive young men in our lives Grin

Unfortunately I then broke a photo machine thingy in boots (my disc got stuck and the man had to find tools o actually dismantle it to get my disc out!), managed to finally order some pictures and then it took me 2 hours to get home. The first bus went passed as I was trying to cross to the bus stop, the second never actually turned up and by the time I got the third it was rush hour, Hmphhh!

Nothing much else to report, the usual round of screams, feeds, burps, nappies, washing and too little sleep. That said, I should either be doing something or napping now, but can't stop looking at my little man....

Baby YBR now has her appointment with the Pediatric surgeons about her hernia, that's Thursday morning.
At the same time she's been very windy the last few days and I've no idea why - I can't think of anything I've eaten that might have caused it. Hmmm.

In other news: I suspect the boy and I have thrush. Feeding has been agony for a couple of weeks, but I'd put it down to his constant feeding, but he's started leaving curdled/cottage cheesesque bits on my nipple and a lightbulb moment has sprung. Amything I can get over the counter for it or am I looking at a doctors appointment?

As expected consultant wants to add in a 150ml formula feed a day to see if increase in calories will increase weight. Also doing blood tests to check for any underlying issues. Will aim to express at same time as give formula to keep supply. Consultant was lovely and will be following advice - any thoughts in best time to give the formula?

Realistically everyone else in my nct class gives at least one formula top up a day so its not absolutely the end of the world. Thank goodness I put my big girl pants in this morning. Thanks so much for all the support in thus thread. I feel bad that I spend most of my time in here whinging or stressing so really appreciate everyone who takes the time to read and respond. Hopefully when all has calmed down for us I will be able to return the favour

lmf if you have a nice GP what you need is miconazole oral gel : a tube for Octoboy's mouth and for your nipples. It's off licence for babies under
16 weeks (but sonare loads of kiddy medicines), but deemed the most effective by our local health guidelines, treat him and you for a weeks and bob's your mother's brother... I'm pretty sure its prescription only though.

hawthers, you're cool- we all do it! Glad consultant was positive, see how things go and we're all here.

Weekend was pleasant if a little sleep-deprived away from home. Nice to see relatives and the DDs loved sleepovering with their cousins.

Gah- hideous woman at bf group was complaining about a 'chinky' midwife she had. I expected the group leader to say something, but she didn't; and although I've taken people, including close friends to task for this, the moment whizzed by and I just didn't have the confidence, as the newest member of the group, to pull it back and make the point. Bit of a fail on my part....

Glad the appointment's booked now YBR; it's weird, you don't think of babies getting hernias. Hope she's not bothered by it. As for being windy, y'know, I reckon they just enjoy farting triumphantly!

Sounds like your consultant was lovely hawthers, and that's a sensible suggestion. As you say, an awful lot of women who breast feed do give a top up for a whole host of reasons, and it is not (repeat not!) any sort of failure. Glad that you're sounding more positive about it, and not beating yourself up. How is your LO today anyhoo?

Hope you manage to catch up on sleep aethel. Oh, HLC, my LO's snot and associated issues at night were absent last night after I had a thought and turned the heating off (well, down to 10 deg). I'd noticed the two seemed to be related. I know you have a stove/no central heating but wondered (esp. as we're both co-sleeping with our LOs) if it could help?

My LO has his whinging pants on today...but at least has a clear bonce after several days of Baby Oil for the flaking skin leaving just the odd little patch for me to tease off because I'm gross

Why do my children always end up falling asleep on me?

Today we have:
Put washing in
made windmill flowers
made chocolate loveharets
hovered livingroom
had lunch
played in the dragon tent
bathed Hope
made the first layer of the rice crispy layer cake

And now they are asleep on me instead of watching ben 10!

i will go to boots later to get MAP

mmm I'm not a vicar, just a church-goer who leads worship sometimes. My job is engineering design - something to do with signalling railways. I took time off from leading worship since November so I'm feeling out of practice. Poor LO is likely to grow up hearing me (and DH) embarrass her from the "pulpit"!

northern I'd heard of umbilical hernias, which tend to sort themselves, but not this which is really low down. Fortunately it doesn't seem to distress her atm.

And err.. the wind is the other end - been getting some good surprising belches and burps today.

Nearly new thread time!

hawthers glad to hear you're sounding positive and that you've been given some realistic advice by someone who is still in favour of you BFing.

Eva is in a grump today, also dribbling so it could be the start of teething. Her room is the warmest in the house, I had the window open all day with the door shut to cool it down without making the rest of the house cold. I just went up to shut it, it had sucked wide open and the thermometer said 13, whoops!

In other news AF has arrived so the ttc DC3 will soon commence, though DH will be gutted we can't DTD on his birthday and he isn't sodding well getting anything else instead.
