Here you go! Sorry for crappy title. My one chance in the limelight and I can't think of anything good and I have to go and collect J from nursery right now...

OP posts:

I also have a friend who's little girl is dairy free. It gives her bad eczema, she can't have anything with dairy at all and also meant she had to stop bfing but the little girl is now fine.
It can be a phase so he might be able to have dairy when he's older if you introduce it back slowly.

memphis83 · 06/02/2012 15:26

chulita I didnt realise they could last 2 weeks, the doc said a few days. It a waffle maker like the deep american waffle type that turns 180 degrees, I need oil mist and eggs before I can give it a go, its my idea of a healthy breakfast!
Oh and DH is actually being pretty amazing! he really is, he even offered to rub cream into my back!
The dog is now ill too! just spoke to dh an hour ago he said the dog shat all over the kitchen this morning and he has just done it again then pissed everywhere! not my finest hour cleaning it up! but obviously cant moan if dh had to do it himself before work!

Chulita · 06/02/2012 15:30

tsc you're perfectly entitled to be grumpy, as for stark raving loony...well... Wink

S still has this wretched cough that makes him cough, retch and occasionally throw up. When he gets upset he can't breathe properly and coughs til he retches

Chulita · 06/02/2012 15:33

memphis when L had her tonsilitis last week, it started on the Wednesday, got really bad Thursday afternoon and didn't start getting better til the following Friday and she's still not back to normal even now.
I really want a deep waffler, we've got a normal one which is lovely but both DH and I are secretly lusting after a deep one too Blush is it wrong to have 2 waffle irons?

mlisc that's what puts me off pets soooooo much, they're that extra expense and vets are iniquitous!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 06/02/2012 16:00

I would never recommend anyone with small children to get animals. Especially not a dog/dogs. It's Too Hard. Like they haven't been out today for example. Other than one of them to the vet. And they won't be going out either because I just don't have time, they'll have to wait until tomorrow morning.

Spirael · 06/02/2012 16:04

Afternoon all. Really sorry to hear about all the sick LO's, and pets! Hopefully recoveries will be quick. Had no experience with dairy free diets and couldn't live without cheese so I really can't offer any advise...sorry!

Sorry I've not been posting much recently. Still manic busy here and things are, if you'll indulge a bit of a rant, going rather badly. Four weeks in, the kitchen still isn't quite finished and they've had to get us to move everything in the lounge to fix the gas leak under the floor boards too. But that work keeps getting delayed! So the house is in perpetual chaos and every day is a day we're not back on the housing market.

I didn't get the job I was going for, refused because apparently they weren't sure their existing staff would like me! Meanwhile my current company is, basically, taking the piss in many regards. Meanwhile we have a growing pile of things that keep suddenly breaking that we can't afford to replace. Before Christmas it was the Xbox360, then last week it was the home cinema system, then last night it was the laptop! (As well as the car/food processor/desktop/scanner/iPod/catflap/etc going over the past few months.)

But, on the plus side, we are all relatively healthy (though my weight is not in control - I comfort eat when stressed) and M is doing fine. Though I have just received a call from nursery saying she has some scratches on her face after apparently having a disagreement with another child over a toy. Sounds like she's ok though... I guess I'll have a form to sign later. Then extra cuddles for M tonight, I feel!

Sorry about the rant... I'm never quite sure what to write as I feel bad posting things are going well, never feel qualified to offer much advise about anything, and feel bad too if I post about things going badly!! Then if things are going neutrally...I figure it's too dull to post. I guess I'm just a rather ineffective poster in general. Wink Sorry!

So... Does anyone have any interesting plans for the next few days?

Chulita · 06/02/2012 16:35

Oh spirael just post you daft woman, not like most of us have anything brilliant to share! Sorry everything's going round yours, it does all seem to to happen at once doesn't it! Bugger about the job too, and not particularly helpful feedback...as if you can help who you are Hmm

memphis you don't need oil mist, you can brush oil on the heating bits (you will need eggs though, don't have a cheat for them Grin )
at the dog though

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/02/2012 17:36

chul I think you'll find all my posts are VERY newsworthy Grin Wink

D hasn't had a nap today because of being at the group so I think I'm in for a rotten eve/ night.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 06/02/2012 17:41

Sorry things are stressful there spirael. I couldn't have put it better than chul just did - just post you daft woman Wink

Chulita · 06/02/2012 18:01

chulita its the gordon ramsey waffle machine, read all the reviews and the bad ones seem to be from before they updated the model, I will be testing it out tomorrow, I havent got any oil, I just used my bit of oil for tea! but I have cornish ice cream nd mixed berries here ready to go!
spirael post post post, sorry things are a bit shitty at your end but as you say at least everyone is healthy! hope your kitchen is sorted soon though it would drive me mad!

Weds: Creamy sweet potato curry soup and fresh bread
Thurs: Baked potatoes and filling of some description
Fri: Might try egg curry with potatoes (need to buy cloves and green chillis)
Sat: Out at a charity event, food provided I think
Sun: dunno

Hi all,

sounds like so many poorly babies and sleepless nights. I hope it all gets better and easier soon.

We've had a rough time here. DP's dad got so poorly so quickly and DP went over last Friday, just in time cos his father died this morning. I'm glad DP made it over in time but I'm so sad he is gone and he never even met F. We were thinking about us all going but it was such a rush and F didn't even have a passport. Poor DP and poor MIL. Sad, sad times. He was a lovely man. I still remember him being ever so delighted about us being pregnant with F. Most people were a bit mean subdued cos it was so quick after M, but he was so pleased for us. God, I'm welling up again.

Anyway, first few solo bedtimes for me then. I'm def in cake's camp of hating them. I'm feeling utterly exhausted and drained, not helped by having the mother of all colds and the mother of all first time back since pregnant periods, and two poorly, snotty, naughty babies.

Sorry for the moan. Not all bad here. Had a photographer friend come round today to take passport pics of F and we had a hard time cos he mustn't smile on the photos (stoopid German rules) but he just wouldn't stop. He loved all the attention poor second child and even started giggling loudly after a flash. So, so cute.

It's utterly freezing here so we've hardly been out. Twas minus 23 this morning. WTAF?

viks Hope today was better. How are you getting on during the week on your own? Tiger in the tree helps F most of the time.

Will catch up properly now.

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/02/2012 21:09

Meal plan (roughly)

Mon- beef casserole, new pots, veg
Tues- dh working late so pasta/ rice dish of some sort for me and D
Wed- ditto
Thurs- might make a soup. Celeriac and Stilton is gorgeous.
Fri- pizza

viksam · 06/02/2012 21:17

tsc cutting out dairy does sound like the way to go and if the others can help id go for it. Whats the deal with you stopping feeding him, i know you dont want to upset him further but it really does sound like a nightmare for you.
Well this evening was going really well, D had a lovely bath with dh and F actually was sleeping in the swing, bliss..........untill we had the stupid idea that we should turn the swing off!! stupid, stupid, stupid!! he screamed and screamed, dh is feeding him now but i dread to think what he will be like after, its not a very relaxed feed, oh dear. We are worried about building up a sleep association with the swing, i had to rock D to sleep for months. But i think we will cross that bridge when we get to it, for now he can carry on swinging if it helps him.
chu i wonder wether its reflux as well as he really cries and looks like hes chewing something a while after he's fed.
memphis i hope L is improving, poor thing, sounds like a good shopping day for you today, Mmmmm waffels!!
mylife what was it like today, do the people seem nice?
Im gona go to a new stay and play tomorrow all being well, hope its nice.
Bed, night!!

viksam · 06/02/2012 21:51

Shit, I x posted with about 100 posts! How the hell did I miss them all! I blame extortion Trudy dh lost his father when I was 6 months pregnant with d, its awfully and so sad that ur fil didnt get to meet f. I sympathize re bedtime and juggling them on your own, its not easy.
I'm supposed to be asleep so ill post further later.

viksam · 06/02/2012 21:51

Extortion! Haha, bloody phone!

kkfairybrains · 06/02/2012 22:40

Really sorry to hear about FIL trudy :( very sad for you all.
I can't even try and comprehend what -23 feels like!
Completely forgot to mention your course mlic..how did it go?
Vik thats crap about F this eve. Do whatever it takes to keep him comfortable and worry about the consequences later. He's still so small so I wouldn't worry about it
