Here you go! Sorry for crappy title. My one chance in the limelight and I can't think of anything good and I have to go and collect J from nursery right now...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 24/01/2012 16:49

Don't worry about it dh, I just use red and yellow bell peppers. The trick is to slice them (and the onions) really finely

W is tucking into his pork, mash and broccoli. E doesn't like it. Apparently. So that's; some grapes, 3 mouthfuls of weetabix, a tiny amount of beans on toast, and two bananas he's eaten today. He can go whistle if he thinks I'm going to go and make the sandwich he's asking for Angry

I've made a sausage casserole for tea and so far, it tastes rank :( It serves me right for using a packet of powder shit. I have added tomato puree, a veg stock cube, a dash of worcester sauce and red wine but nothing is making it taste nice :(

I've been told I can go to that craft session in the morning and even if the co-ordinator is still off sick they'll find cover for her! Yay! So, providing we have no spots appear overnight I'll be going :)

Chulita · 24/01/2012 17:00

You mean you've never cooked with Ramiro peppers dh? Honestly!
Wink

Fingers crossed for no spots mlisc, I didn't realise it was a referred group, hope you enjoy it!

DesperateHousewife21 · 24/01/2012 17:05

Cant say I have, no Grin

Thanks mlisc that clears it up!

Chulita · 24/01/2012 19:18

GRRRRRRR! DH still isn't back from work, he left here at 6.20am. This job totally takes the piss Angry

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 24/01/2012 19:20

I have casserole in the oven and I am dreading it, so much so I feel like crying. And I'm being serious.

Still think I'm not a nutter vik? Grin

Chulita · 24/01/2012 19:32

I've done that, cooked something minging and spent the cooking time dreading having to give it to DH.

I still think you're a nutter

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 24/01/2012 19:49

DH was on the phone when I put his tea in front of him so I couldn't guage his reaction when he started eating it. He then finished his call and said 'this is a nice caserole'

Oh the irony Grin

I managed to salvage it by adding all I mentioned earlier, plus lots of paprika, some cayenne pepper some more red wine and some sage.

Only problem is, now I have a bottle of wine open...

memphis83 · 24/01/2012 20:30

mlic what a prediciment your in an open bottle of wine? hmmm what to do?
The Lazy range of garlic etc have brought out concentrate sauces and we had the posh sausage casserole on Saturday, I added mushrooms and onions and put it in the slow cooker, the problem was the sausages were from a different butchers and I think they had more rusk than meat in them so they swelled and the had the texture of I imagined a penis, so I couldnt eat it, made worse by the fact my sister calls sausage casserole 'willy stew'
vik with the Tommee Tippee bottles have you got the valve on the teat upwards? my friend never did and it caused bad wind in her baby?
chulita I feel your pain, DH left at 4am and due to vandalism on site he still isnt home, tea has been in the slow cooker since 11, I hope it isnt ruined, he has another long day tomorrow then is away Thursday, he thinks this is good as he isnt away all week but he may as well be, L wont see him all week and I still have to cook!
Had my sister all afternoon, she is 11 and I find her hard work, she asks so many questions, watches everything you do and is all my mum doesnt like this and that and this, and the school im sending L to is full of snobs! she went to a very small primary that is heavy on religion and she says very strange things that are quite racist! grr annoyed me a lot!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 24/01/2012 20:48

I always think you have to brown sausages (and I don't even use real sausages, only fake ones!) before slow-cookering them. Otherwise, yes...

What do you mean 'still have to cook'. Don't pretend you actually cook when he's away Wink

Dh did you do the chachouka? What did you think?

viksam · 24/01/2012 20:50

memphis thats horrid!!!!!!!!!!!!The texture of a penis!!!!!!!your imagination is all kinds of wrong!! Willy stew is funny though.
Yes i always make sure the valve is upwards, I dont want to hex it but he does seem a bit better tonight, his wind is coming up a bit easier it seems. What did everyone do with their babies at this age at this time of night, D wasnt in a routine till the colic cleared up at 17 weeks old so i really dont know what normal babies do, should i be putting him upstairs to bed? Feel like an idiot asking.
mylife did you eat shite caserole?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 24/01/2012 21:33

Yes. I ate shite casserole.

and now eating my way through a multipack of crisps

Blush
MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 24/01/2012 21:43

Oh stop the press. I have found crisps I can't eat!!

Aldi 'Be light' crisps. Yuk yuk yuk YAK.

viksam · 25/01/2012 01:55

5oz down the hatch and now trying to extract some windypops! come on baby, give me a burp please!
what did u think of shite caserole? and did u finish the wine?
F kicked off something cronic just after i osted last night, i just couldnt get any wind up, poor boy, gona get some colief today, see if that helps, im not gona drag my feet like last time.
trydyla where are u and how are things going?
wss are u ok?

viksam · 25/01/2012 04:59

to settle or not to settle, this is our problem with D atm, hes up there right now moaning, banging the cot and talking to himself, occasionally crying......like now, this is happening more and more and im afraid hes getting used to us going in to settle him. DH is back to work on monday, he doesnt cope well with lack of sleep so D waking is going to kill him, what do we do?

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/01/2012 06:58

memphis that's why I brown sausages and cut them up before putting them in the casserole dish, there's no way they can look like willys then!

mlisc no I had stir fry last night as had to use up the chicken, I think I'll give it a go on sat as I've got the rest of the weeks meals now do will let u know how it goes.
Also saffron...never knew how expensive it is and you get the tiniest amount!

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/01/2012 06:59

Oh posted too soon, just a moan. D woke at 5:55 and would not go back to sleep. I managed to hold out til 6:40 then had to get up because he was just pinching me, kicking me, rubbing my hair all over the place and dh got pissed off cos he kicks the cover off us too.

viksam · 25/01/2012 07:28

Well in the end we had them both crying at the same time. F wouldnt settle for some reason and still hasnt properly, and thats since 4am! And same really with D, in the end dh got really annoyed, i was getting beside myself with frustration trying to settle F so i totally understood. He went in and told D off, he cried for about 20 seconds then was quiet for a while, when he started up again i met dh on the landing as i was on my way down again with F and he went in to get D to try him in his bed, they are still up there now so dont know if they got any sleep. Why is D awake so long??? I just dont get it. Man, that was the worst night yet, a few more of those and we will be done for.

wifey6 · 25/01/2012 07:32

Soooo tired...Sad
DS has been awake since 5:45am & therefore so were we...Sad
Cancelled his play-date for today last night as he wasn't well..so that's another day of no adult interaction. Looooong day ahead Sad

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 25/01/2012 07:44

It's not the same wifey but there's plenty of virtual adult interaction on here all day :)

No spots, yay! I said I'd go to my friend's this afternoon for a cuppa cos she has cabin fever. Her son will still be contagious...am I mad? I figure he was contagious last time we saw him anyway...

Sorry bout your bad night vik

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 25/01/2012 07:59

Oh and yeah saffron is expensive dh. But it's quite overpowering so you only use tiny amounts when cooking, therefore it should last you ages :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/01/2012 08:03

vik that sounds like a rubbish night hopefully it can only get better.

wifey D was was also up around that time too, I'm taking him to a soft play centre later with my friend. The one plus about him waking up early is he has a nap a bit earlier which frees up the afternoon.

wifey6 · 25/01/2012 08:06

That is the upside DH21...hopefully DS will nap early. Will be checking in on/off all day for some sanity saving! Grin

memphis83 · 25/01/2012 08:21

mlic I did brown them off but they swelled up, wont be doing will stew for a bit, its totally put me off Grin DH gulped it down though!
Thats what I meant about DH being away, he may as well be away atm as its easier, he isnt here for helping with L, he walks in late and then I have to cook whereas if he was away I would do everything alone and rather than cooking for him im having a glass of wine! Grin
wifey Hope you get abit of rest when its naptime.

We are meeting with bully boy and his mum today, if he hits him again I wont be seeing her again, but I dont think he will as the other boy will stay in the toddler bit as he wont leave his mums side but L will be at the top in the big kids bit, then got my sis after school again.Just waiting for dog to get picked up for playschool!

viksam · 25/01/2012 08:47

Sorry for the early wakers, the sleep thing SUCKS doesnt it! Currently dh is in bed, i really hope hes catching up a bit so i dont feel so guilty when i fuck off to bed later on and leave him with both! i only have a few days left when i can so im totally gona make the most of them.
memphis whats this doggy playschool you got going on? My poor dog doesnt get half the attention and walks that he should, its a shame for him.
D is feeding himself a yogurt right now, hes doing so well with his spoon and fork, im dead pleased cos it ferrs me up to deal with F if necessary. Unsuprisingly F is sleeping now, little bugger!!!! D has been a sausage already this morning, in for an ace day i recon!!
Whats everyone doing today?

Chulita · 25/01/2012 09:04

viks fwiw both DH and I are wrecks after a bad sleep, we're both 9 hours a night people but we've not had that for over 3 years and you do cope. DH finds it really hard but you have to get through it cos you have no choice. Same with nights when you're up the whole time - you feel like shite but one day it'll be better and cos yours are so close together, in 2 years' time you'll be laughing Grin

I also brown off sausages and chop them up too, DH loves sausage casserole but I don't make it often.

I've just made apple&cranberry muffins to try and tempt L to eat, she's barely eaten since Thursday (think 2 blueberries/10 cheerios a day type thing). I'm going to cancel the 2 meet-ups we've got today, her tonsils are still huge and she's very teary so not worth doing anything and passing this crap illness to anyone else. DH is on nights for the rest of the week so I'm going to go into town without the children and actually get some stuff done!
